I just watched the “confrontation”. My observations off the bat.
1. Arroyo is incoherent; incapable of formulating his thoughts and explain one simple thing that Monsod asked: HOW DID YOU MANAGE TO JUMP FROM 5 million pesos net worth to so tens of millions.
2. Arroyo has just admitted that he received 2 types of cash presents: when he got married and during the election campaign (I suppose campaign donations); question: DID HE DECLARE THESE CAMPAIGN DONATIONS? What is the ceiling of legally acceptable campaign donations?
3. “Ask my lawyer!” This ask my lawyer is a disease in Filipino tradpols. If he are incapable of answering the simplest question pertaining to a public document that he signed and submitted, how can they even begin to pretend to legislate?
4. His defence, implying he made a mistake in his SALN (I think the 2002), is not only lame, it is PATHETIC! Who will believe him.
I am gobsmacked! Arroyo’s performance in that interview shows an incoherent man whose brain cannot map; he doesn’t sound educated at all. Where did he go to school? How on earth did he become a Congressman?
I’ve met lower education pupils where I sit (6th graders) who are more articulate and coherent than this CONGRESSMAN…
Btw, with a net worth of 99million pesos or so, how much did he pay in taxes?

And for him to say, “I don’t know how to declare my SALN” so his lawyers apparently do it for him, all the more suspect then because men of the law normally know how to do things as they are supposed to have the expertise.
Anyway, Arroyo cannot pretend to ignorance of the law — he may do it but at his peril.
Again, HOW COULD SOMEONE LIKE THIS INVIDUAL be elected member of Congress and be entrusted to legislate on behalf of the Filipino people?
If Arroyo were an honest man wanting to do an honest job for honest pay, he should be waiting on tables asking customers “How would you like your steak, Sir? Rare or medium rare?”
But in my book, the man is NOT QUALIFIED — not by a long shot, to be a legislator.
Time for Pinoys to be a bit more clever when they vote people for public office.

In their 2008 Statement of Assets and Liabilities networth (SALn), Mikey declared a net worth of P99.2 million and Dato, a freshman congressman, P89 million. Before becoming congressmen, they had no known businesses or big properties.
Vera Files said Mikey did not declare his Foster City, San Franciso house. Horse owners also say he has a big stable of horses, registered in the name of friends. Movie people allege he also bought a P30 million house in San Francisco for sexy actress Rufa Mae Quinto. Rufa Mae admitted on SNN, channel 2 that she owns a P30-million house in San Francisco. Certainly she cannot afford that from her talent fees alone.
People who have been to the houses of Mikey, Dato and uncle Iggy Arroyo say they saw a fleet of about 30 luxury cars in their garages, which have not all been declared in the SALns.

When I last met her, she was wearing a gold looking watch (didn’t get the brand)which had some diamond looking studs on them, a ring with a huge diamond looking stone, a pair of earrings with diamond looking stone, a brooch, etc. If they were real, the size of the stones on those jewelry, I it would be safe to say that altogether she was wearing more than 60K Euros.
I’ve noticed in her various sorties abroad that she has been wearing different jewelry… If you look at the trinkets, they are never the same in a sortie or the other, hence, if those are genuine stones, jewelries, precious trinkets, or whatever, then it’s safe to say that she owns more than the equivalent of 3million pesos of jewelry.
(My Mom has a diamond necklace which I believe is valued at one million pesos and that is only for 1 item — the number of items of jewelry that Gloria has been exhibiting on her person pre-supposes that she owns trinkets worth more than THREE MILLION DOLLARS, and would be more like that amount.)
Assuming this to be the case, then our little queen oink oink is lying in her SALN… She has not declared all the jewelry she owns.

One big lie I’ve noticed on the video, at 8:30 mark, Mikey referred to buying properties cheap and sell at a higher price(kahit bingi at bulag, alam naman nila ang logic na ito). So, why would he then buy a house for $1.32million in Aug 2006 which was listed in March 2006 for $925k? In fact that property went down slightly and with it being 40 years old, dami ng multo sa bahay na yan.
Nakalimutan ni Mikey na internet age ngayon, na madali silang mabuking ng google, walang ligtas, huli kayo!

I just wonder if this guy will be able to still deny his crimes if someone would show him a picture of Jesus Christ and a Bible unless of course, he has gotten used to committing crimes and not being able anymore to feel guilty about them because of the examples of his parents who have easily gotten off the hook even by just saying, “I’m sorry, lapse of judgment, or “I invoke my right to remain silent.” Tindi di ba?
The truth is that when I am asked to translate for the police in investigating crimes committed by foreigners in Japan, I usually bring two or three pictures of Jesus Christ and a Bible when the suspect is a Christian. I aske permission to hang those pictures on the walls within sight/vision of the suspect so that whichever way he looks, he will not miss seeing the face of the Savior. In between breaks, I read verses in the Scriptures to remind him of what he/she has seemed forgotten to obey, etc. Majority, in fact, break down and confess especially when they cannot avoid looking at the pictures that somehow are able to prick them in the heart.
I wonder if such pictures will have similar effects on the diablos at Malacanang, especially with the kulimbat’s portrayal of someone holy with her promotional pictures of piety, praying with close eyes, pouting mouth and rosary in her hand for the public to see. Kung meron pang takot sa Diyos ang mga iyan baka mapilitang kumanta kung papakitahan ng litrato ng Panginoon. Ano kaya? Meron pa kayang takot sa Diyos ang mga kampon ng kasamaan na iyan?
