Only in the Philippines.”

Sabi ni Alameda, “No direct, material and competent evidence adduced to prove the specific act committed by the accused constituting the crime of rebellion or any of the elements thereof. The walkout from the court, the marching to the Manila Peninsula hotel and the press conference held in the same hotel denouncing the administration of President [Gloria Macapagal-]Arroyo are not sufficient to prove the non-bailable crime of rebellion.”

  1. OK lang yan, Ellen.

His “pooh-pooh ing” these candidates will earn them popularity. The more he talks about tehm the better.

  3. He is takot! Edong is also running for his old House seat, isn’t he? When Layug and Alejanon get elected, he will find them right in front of him — face off sila. Hah! At least Layug, a former navy seal and Alejano, a Marine can boast of having seen real action.

Edong likes to boast that as a young lieutenant he “saw action” in Vietnam when in fact, all he saw was the walls of the PHILCAG base.

Sorry, Edong, you are such a disappointment to your fellow Batanguenos.

I’ve asked my kamaganaks not to vote for you. Pity they can no longer transfer residence to Taguig or to Negros to be able to vote for Layug and Alejano.

Pound for pound, I’d rather put my bet on the young ‘uns — they have an ideal, the integrity, and the determination to do good for this country, that you have long thrown away in the rubbish bin.

    Ellen,

Where is angie Reyes’ son getting his finances? From the UK Kinetic contract? Ask him, please. Ask him if Ed Vaca and his nephew are both backing up Angie’s son.

  5. Trillanes and Layug am pretty sure, know about the deal.

  6. sorry, meant about the Kinetic contract (not the deal — they couldn’t have known the deal or what went on between Angie and Kinetic — too secret for words) but they know about the Kinetic contract.

  7. By the way, ask Edong Ermita if he received a reward in exchange to put a monkey wrench on erstwhile Air Force recommendation to purchase a certain aircraft.

  8. Ooops… By the way, ask Edong Ermita if he received a reward in exchange FOR PUTTING a monkey wrench on erstwhile Air Force recommendation to purchase a certain aircraft.

    OT:

Senate hopeful Joey de Venecia, meanwhile, doesn’t mind the reconciliation (with GMA), and said that he understands his stepmother and father.

“My Manay Gina is very friendly and very forgiving. That’s her nature. Even my father is the same: very friendly, very forgiving of people. And she made a decision that maybe the ZTE-NBN controversy has taken its course and it’s time to move on,” he said.

Is that so? Then I guess Erap should dump him as one of his senatorial candidate. But knowing Erap, he too is a very “forgiving” person too. 😛

  14. martina martina

May mga connection every which way, kaya nasa win win situation sila.

Maraming political clans ang similarly situated, kaya sa Pinas may maaasahan pa bang pagbabago?

  15. chi chi

    Mike,

Nakakabwisit sila!

  16. Everyone has a kamaganak holding an elective post in the republic.

Start at the top, the Senate and down to House of Reps, not including gubernatorial positions, etc.

The Philippines is capital of political dynasties and political kamaganaks.

    Republic of Kamaganaks.

    Snamagan!

  17. And then when Gloria becomes Congresswoman, they’ll make her Speaker the position I believe she’s coveting… She will be beyond the reach of the law. (Sigh!)

  18. Walang kaibigan, walang kamag-anak? Bah… that’s like spitting in the wind!

  19. chi chi

Oh yeah, we’re paying taxes to pay the salaries of these magkakamag-anak sa politika who just make us suffer. Letse!

Lim, Trillanes to remain in jail despite bail- AFP (www.abs/cbnnews.com)

  21. What court martial? Akala ko ba, the Magdalos, following their Oakwood escapade, were gonna be tried by civil court?

Di ba ang usapan ay they will be tried under Articles of War (Court Martial) but govt reneged on agreement? Kaya civil court?

  22. Ang gulo naman… why can’t govt and their alagads get their acts together?

  23. chi chi

    Anna,

Lim and Trillanes have pending cases daw before the military tribunal in connection with ALLEGED attempts to overthrow the unana’s government. Heh!

  24. Thanks, Chi.

excerpt: Trillanes, a former Navy officer, is facing conduct unbecoming of an officer and a gentleman before a military tribunal for his participation in the July 27, 2003 Oakwood Mutiny. He is also charged with coup d’etat before a Makati court for the same reason.

Hang on… what are they cooking again?

So hinati ang charges: despite agreement they would be tried under Articles of War and not under civilian court, the coup d’état charge will be tried by civil courts on one hand and then rebellion by military courts.

Govt are hell bent on making sure that these young guys never get out of courts.

So with civil courts granting them bail for coup d’état — that’s half of the charges, then hatiin na rin ang katawan ng mga accused. Kalahati free, kalahati in jail.

Half in – half out. Sige, Brawner, how will you solve that problem, ha? Gago!

  25. Ok Chi, walang bail sa military law (which is right) pero may bail sa civil court… e paano na ngayon? Puwede ba nilang hatiin ang katawan nitong mga accused para iyong under civil court ay free at yong kalahati (under military courts) nasa jail.

Besides, I thought everything was settled when govt reneged on their promise put these officers under jurisdiction of military courts.

And military agreed. That’s why Cimatu threw them to civil agencies. Now, that civil courts say bail is given, govt backtracks again thru the military. Anong lutong pakbet iyan?

  26. chi chi

Ang gulo ni Brawner. They will study daw why the civil court granted bail to Trillanes and Lim. Klaro, pakikialaman nila pati civil court.

  27. Chi,

Let’s forget the agreement or terms of surrender — whether under military courts, civil courts or monkey courts, but let’s take Brawner at his word:

He says, [Trillanes and/or et al]…facing conduct unbecoming of an officer and a gentleman before a military tribunal for his participation in the July 27, 2003 Oakwood Mutiny.

Sanamagan!!!! Almost 7 years and not even under trial and just “facing conduct unbecoming of an officer and a gentleman before a military tribunal”????

What annery is this? Almost 7 years and no trial?

This is serious human rights violation!

Even if for the sake of argument, Magdalo group (or Trillanes for that matter) is making it difficult for military court to proceed with trial, frankly, that’s govt’s/military court’s problem, not Magdalo’s nor their lawyers’ — up to govt to go ahead/press on with trial, but definitely not Magdalo’s problem.

All this wasted time is tantatamount to military prosecution’s incompetence or military tribunal’s incompetence — if so, they had better surrender, totally abdicate their, er, resign en banc and surrender jurisdiction to civil courts. But Brawner cannot claim one thing and not do it.

Ano yan, game of hide and seek?

Brawner is being a total nignog!

  28. Truly, it is unbelievable that the military trial of a group of officers for something that happened 7 years ago is still not over. Worse, military trial ain’t even started. Military tribunal should just resign en banc and leave other govt agencies to press on/delegate competence to civil agencies if they can’t do it.

  29. Who does Brawner think he is? George Bush?

  30. Ibrado is being unduly incompetent. He is overrated and boy, I won’t even employ him as my cook. (Billy Marcelo’s favourite expression about an incompetent senior military officer.)

  32. henry90 henry90

    Anna:

We are talking here of two separate cases, Oakwood in 2003 and Makati Pen in 2007. They were granted bail on the Makati Pen incident. However, they still have pending court martial cases for the Oakwood in the case of Trlllanes and the Marines stand-off in 2005 in the case of Lim. So, maliwanag na gusto talaga silang ikulong. . .hehehe

  33. henry90 henry90

Manila Pen not Makati Pen. Marines stand-off happened in Feb 2006 nga pala. . .

  34. Henry,

Ang gulo naman. Anyway, ok, thanks for the clarification.

Just the same, my quesstion is after 7 years, Trillanes trial under AW has not happened? Puwede ba yon? Tamad ba ang military tribunal? Puwede naman nilang gawin na simultaneous but for an officer accused of a violation for the last 7 years if they really want to be efficient… unheard of na after 7 years, hindi pa tapos ang trial.

Court martials are supposed to be quicker than civil courts. What I’m saying is if they can’t speed it up (excuse daw is Trillanes is doing it on purpose) so, surrender na lang sila.

Sabihin mo sa classmate mo na engot siya — I know, I know, he’s just doing a job, but he must say things coherently naman at the very least, even if can’t do it convincingly, ok lang! If he cannot be coherent, dump the job na lang.

  35. 5 years pala not 7 years (just the same, 5 years to try conduct unbecoming an officer and blah!!!!!)

My husband would try that in no time at all — 3 months tapos! Let the civil courts shit among themselves for the rest of the cases if they so want but as military folks, they should speed it up.

My goodness me! This is shitting a brick case talaga!

  36. I remember what Boy Abadia liked to boast about: RP has the longest running counter-insurgency war in the far east and for that RP is expert on guerilla warfare. (Expert sa bagal!)

Kung ganyang kabagal for a trifling military violation alone, I am not surprised the AFP is still trying to catch the same insurgents for more than half a decade. Because ang bagal!

  37. Until now, they are still trying to catch JoMa, Fidel Agcaoili, Louie Jalandoni and wife, etc., etc., etc. heheheh!

  38. Valdemar Valdemar

I agree we have the longest counterinsurgency efforts because the military does not come to term with our other side that is well armed, well managed with better tactics and no pensions at that. Should we choose the better side, we save huge useless defense spendings not to forget those wasted tribunal comedias.

Napaka walanghiya talaga nitong sina Hermit Ermita at Nigger Brawner.

Me bayag ba talaga silang dalawa?

  47. Pag walang giyera walang pera. They use the war (against insurgents) to make big bucks.

    Mike,

Truth be told, war is good for business. But, itt’s the AFP and DND big guns, SMA to DND chief included, that are guilty of war profiteering if ever. I don’t believe the junior officers and your ordinary foot soldiers benefit from the loot at all (except for a few black sheep, eg., MGen Gaudencio Boygee Pangilinan when he was a 2nd, 1st Lt, captain, etc.)

Your ordinary Navy seal, for instance, (SWAG they are now called, my favourite fighting group in RP military) fights for glory and not for money.

  48. LT James Layug, is from the Naval Special Warfare Group.

(SWAG is one of the fighting units that scares Gloria to death! If navy stealth fighters you need, it’s them. I believe Gloria had the unit disbanded following Oakwood.)

  49. henry90 henry90

    Anna:

They have not been disbanded. They were simply renamed. They are now known as Naval Special Operations Group(NSOG).

  50. Oh, ok. Am not so up to date anymore.

Henry, but Gloria “ordered” the re-assigning of members of the SWAG following Oakwood, to different units, didn’t she? Or a similar story?

  51. Hahahah! Henry, you are my intellectual conscience… hihihi!

  52. SWAG or NSOG is the equivalent of UK’s elite naval forces unit: SBS — Special Boat Services; they operate in water as well as in dry land (in Afghanistan, often mis-identified by media as SAS.)

  53. henry90 henry90

NSOG units are attached to the different Naval Forces all over the country. You can say that those who were suspected to be symphatizers of the Magdalo groupwere scattered to these different NSOG units. They cant just disband this unit. Their expertise in hydrography, sabotage and small unit tactics are indispensable to military operations against the secessionists in the South.

  54. One of the officers — whom I knew – was summarily sent to the NETC in Zambales out of Sangley following Oakwood although he wasn’t at Oakwood. I think he was “charged” with having been “totally remiss” about his duties (because SWAG guys got to join Oakwood???).

    Anna,

I think Boygee Panghilinan started becoming notorious noong ma-assigned siya sa HHSG, PA where he buong kayabangan ipinagmalaki ang dati niyang assignment sa Jolo, Sulu with the Army’s one of fightingest battalions, the 24th IB.

    Heheheheh!

  64. Magno, notorious na yan when he was at PMA pa lang when he was exec asst ni Boy Enrile sa PMA.

  65. I’m sure cadets knew what was happening especially the upperclassmen (First class) in PMA, kaya nag-rebelde itong pareho si Trillanes.

Remember, one of the reasons why Victor Corpuz defected — he witnessed corruption in PMA.

  66. One of Boygee’s favourite commands is “Produce!”

  67. On the issue of elections, government is sounding alarms that power in the whole of Mindanao will be short by 4000 KW (4MW) on election day and may affect the automation. In this light, Mindanao congressmen, led by Erap’s stupid former lawyer, are proposing special powers for Pandak.
