Wishing they were April Fools Day jokes

We wish these three reports were April Fools Day jokes:

Spinbusters writes 30
Spinbusters writes 30
One, Spinbusters saying goodbye.

In its April 1 entry titled “Silly blog concedes writes 30”, the media watchdog wrote, “There’s no going around it, beating around the bush, and running in circles. With bitterness, sadness, and deep regret, we have decided to shut down The Spin Busters. For good.”

Except for the fact that the persons behind the witty blog were anonymous (and therefore deliberately avoiding accountability) I like their scathing criticisms of media.

I will miss it.

Henares: wants to tax Facebook and Twitter operations in the Philippines.
Henares: wants to tax Facebook and Twitter operations in the Philippines.
Two, BIR request to block Facebook, Twitter over tax.

An April 1 entry in Yugatech’s blog said the Bureau of Internal Revenue sent a request to the National Telecommunications Commission and Internet Service Providers to block several international websites for failure to remit proper taxes from operating within the Philippine internet domain.

Facebook and Twitter are among the top destinations of Filipinos earning for the Philippines the description as “the social media capital of the world.”

BIR Commissioner Kim Henares is not happy that P350 million in advertising and other businesses have been transacted thru Facebook and Twitter since 2009 have escaped their collection net.

Henares was quoted to have said,”The Bureau has been monitoring Facebook and Twitter for the last three fiscal years. It is within our authority to look into their operation and request the proper agencies like NTC to block them if they do not cooperate.”

Please tell me, it’s an April Fools Day joke.

Doing his usual "pasaring".
Doing his usual “pasaring”.
Three, President Aquino chastising the captor of Delfin Lee, Globe Asiatique founder who turned into nightmares the dreams of many working middle class Filipinos to have their own house.

The President, with his usual pasaring(sniping, making a sly or petty verbal attack which only fishwives do) said at the Philippine National Police’s Araw ng Parangal sa Kapulisan:

“This person was not getting a bad position. At sabihin na natin nagpakita siya ng gilas, which he should be rewarded and acknowledged. But at the same time, pumasok sa kaisipan ko: ‘Aba, OK to, goes out on media, says this and that, keeps quiet then goes out again on a media tour. “

Capa stepped on powerful toes.
Capa stepped on powerful toes.
Everybody knows that he was referring to Senior Supt. Conrad Capa, who was sacked as head of Task Force Tugis a week after his men arrested Lee .

Capa was excluded from the list of police personnel honored at Camp Crame on Tuesday.

Lee, accused of syndicated estafa for allegedly defrauding the Pag-ibig Fund of P7-billion in housing loans through fake documents and applicants (his name was removed from the PNP’s list of wanted criminals for mysterious reasons), had eluded arrest despite a long standing warrant of arrest until March 6 when he was arrested by Capa’s team at the Hyatt Hotel in Malate, Manila.

After Lee’s arrest Capa was re-assigned to Cebu Regional Police Office to serve as a deputy regional chief for operations. Capa said it was not a promotion and he is being sent there to “rot.”

It was revealed later that Oriental Mindoro Governor Alfonso Umali, a close ally of the President and treasurer of the Liberal Party, tried to block Lee’s arrest.

Aquino said the police officer whom he didn’t name “does the service a disservice. Pinahamak niya yung institusyon na pagka tagal-tagal ng buhay niya at pinaglingkuran niya.”

Huh??? An April Fools day joke?

I hate Noynoy, aba only in Pinas na nadakip ang one of the most wanted, tapos ay sinalbahe ang nakadakip!

So, what do we expect to happen to his allies who are involved with the pork scam? We are being fooled not only on April fools day, but almost everyday!

  2. Star 1542 Star 1542

Obama, the latter never attempted to cover for Leland Yee. Even Gov. Jerry Brown, also a Democrat, never took side with Yee. He even immediately approved the suspension of Yee from the Senate, along with other two Democrat Senators who were also facing corruption charges.

Star 1542…3 of the four Senators accused of pocketing illegal expense claims for housing and travel expense in Canada are appointee of current sitting Government, the Conservatives..the members of the Senate, the upper house of the Parliament is an appointed house, like the House of Lords, not elected and the terms is up to age 75. But the PM who appointed 3 of the accused can not intervene as the case is handled by the RCMP, an independent police agency..In Fact the PM assistant was in Big for “loaning” one of the Senator to repay the alleged stolen money (yes, the asst is a very wealthy man) and he has to Quit when it was exposed..

All of them were suspended by the Senate without pay and two were already been charged by the RCMP in the Court of Law while the other two is still being investigated further..the investigation took a year as it is very meticulous including court application to access bank accounts, internet providers’ data, financial records and sworns testimonies from witnesses…all these evidence must be procured legally or the case will be Thrown out for any illegal act in acquiring evidence..and the RCMP is very aware of the accused Legal rights…But once the RCMP files the Charges the prospect of Convictions is quite very reasonable or they will not file at all.

But the Beauty of it all, the Media here are very respectful of the Process..it will only mostly reports on the official reports by the Police once the case is under Police investigation… Can not just jeopardize the case as it might go to the Jury and the members of the Jury is just any average citizen and can be influenced by False reports and news in the Media..That too is bringing disrepute to justice..Just can not afford to convict an innocent individual..it is better to acquit a guilty one.

Capa is a PNP officer. His superiors can assign him to any position, anywhere basta ang responsibilities ay commensurate with his rank.

Ganyan ang patakaran sa pulis at military. You may want a medal and a promotion for a job well done but that’s for your superiors to decide.

Going to media to plead your case and to go around the police heirarchy of command is not only childish it is also irresponsible and sets a bad example for others in the organization.

Iba ang pulis at military. There is no democracy there. You follow lawful orders or you resign. After you resign you can bring your case to the media, because you are already a private citizen. But if you remain in the organization, then you don’t question it’s lawful orders before the media.

Anong illegal dun sa order ni Purisima?

I believe Chief Henares is not joking about taxing FB or any Social Media firm since the same has been going on for many other countries as FB only Paid less than 3 millions pounds for the profit of more than 800 millions pounds outside the US…and you can ask the Irish how it is done…

Many Companies in the US are complaining about this issue and Chief Henares is way ahead of anyone to plan any action to be taken…And she is NOT JOKING.

#4 Don’t be so naive, blind or dumb. Everybody knows,(kahit ikaw siguro) the real reason on the reassignment of Capa.

Of course there’s nothing illegal, but if this is an April Fool’s Day joke, maybe Noynoy and Purisima loved it so much that they could die laughing with you.

  7. Mannie Mannie

One thing I don’t understand between Purisima and Capa’s that the two are Masonic brothers. Why Purisima did it to Capa violated the fraternal brotherhood of Freemasonry. My guess is that Purisima only followed Malacanang’s order.

What is the real reason, aber?

  9. chi chi

#9. Mannie, I go for the opposite: Malacanang followed Purisima’s order. 😀

    Sabi PNOY
This person was not getting a bad position. At sabihin na natin nagpakita siya ng gilas, which he should be rewarded and acknowledged. But at the same time, pumasok sa kaisipan ko: ‘Aba, OK to, goes out on media, says this and that, keeps quiet then goes out again on a media tour. “

    Only in the Philippines.

  13. Mannie Mannie

One clear example of Pnoy’s selective discipline on erring officials is this MRT Chief Vitangcol. Malacanang even defended him. Others like Alcala, Ducut, Agawin remain to be untouchables. What this administration accuses of the previous administration is exactly the same things it’s doing today.

“One clear example of Pnoy’s selective discipline on erring officials is this MRT Chief Vitangcol.”

Need some more info on this please… thanks.

All info are available in media and papers. I’ll get into trouble if I copy and paste again. 🙂

Kung ang pruweba ay ‘yung nabasa sa media, it may not hold water. Bakit di dalhin sa korte ng batas? Ang akusasyon ay mabigat. Wala bang takers sa opposition ?

$30 million daw ang kikil, magkano ba ang tren? Bullet train ba ito?

If there’s smoke, there’s fire. I also wonder what’s going on with Erwin Tulfo’s payoff case.

Happy watching on Pacquiao-Bradley fight. Go Manny !

As to Paqquiao-Bradley fight, good for Paquiao… at sa mga fans n’ya.

Here’s an excerpt from Ms. Munsod’s:

“But Ambassador Josef Rychtar’s perception that the MRT manager is the big boss (makes the procurement decisions) may be sadly misinformed. It is the DOTC that has the Bids and Awards Committee, not the MRT. Additionally, as far as I can make out, Vitangcol’s connection with that $30-million extortion try (which went down to $2.5 million the same night) is based on Rychtar’s conjecture that Wilson de Vera, who apparently made the extortion try, called up Vitangcol to get his approval for the reduction. Rychtar’s conjecture, as I said, was based on a misperception. And for this, Vitangcol is being hung out to dry in the public’s mind.”

    Ano sa tingin mo?

Similar topic about airline and plane. Allow me to share this:

What Happened To Malaysian Flight MH370

There’s a new conspiracy theory going around about the disappearance of Malaysian Flight MH 370. It goes like this:
When the Americans were withdrawing from the Afghanistan, one of their command and control systems (used for controlling the pilotless drones) was hijacked by the Taliban, while the American transport convoy was moving down from one of the hill-top bases. The Taliban ambushed the convoy and killed two American Seal personnel, seized the equipment/weapons, including the command and control system which weighed about 20 tons and packed into six crates. This supposedly happened in Feb 2014.

What the Taliban wanted was money, by selling the system to the highest bidder. The Chinese were very eager for the technology.. Just imagine if the Chinese could master the technology behind the US’s command and control system, rendering the American drones useless! The Chinese sent a team of top defense scientists to check the system and then agreed to buy it from the Taliban.

Sometime in early March 2014, the Chinese scientists and the six crates of equipment made their way to Malaysia, thinking that it was the best covert way to avoid detection. The cargo was then kept in the Chinese embassy under diplomatic protection.

Meanwhile the Americans got the assistance of Israeli intelligence, and together they were determined to intercept and recapture the cargo.

The Chinese calculated that it would be safe to transport it via civilian aircraft so as to avoid suspicion. After all the direct flight from KL to Beijing takes only 4 1/2 hours, and the Americans would not hijack or harm the civilians on board. So MH370 was the perfect carrier. There were five American and Israeli agents on board who were familiar with Boeing operations (the two “Iranians” with stolen passports could have been
    among them.

When Flight MH370 was about to leave the Malaysian air space and report to Vietnamese air control, an American AWAC jammed their signal, disabled the pilot control system and switched over to remote control mode. That was when the plane suddenly lost altitude momentarily.

How could the AWAC do it ? Remember 911 incident? After the 911 incident, all Boeing aircraft (and possibly all Airbus) are installed with a remote control system to counter terrorist hijacking. Since then all Boeings can be remote controlled by ground control tower. A similar remote control system is used to control the pilotless spy aircraft and drones.

The five American/Israeli agents soon took over the plane, switched off the transponder and other communication systems, changed course and flew westwards. They did not fly east to Philippines or Guam because the whole South China Sea air space is covered by Chinese surveillance radar and
    satellites.

The Malaysian, Thai and Indian military radars actually detected the unidentified aircraft but did not react.

The plane flew over North Sumatra, Andamans, Indian ocean and then landed in the Maldives (some villagers saw the aircraft landing). It refuelled and continued to Garcia Deigo, the American air base in the middle of Indian Ocean. The cargo and the black box were removed. The passengers had been eliminated through oxygen starvation. The MH370 with the dead passengers were then flown (via remote control) and crashed into South Indian Ocean, making it look like the plane eventually ran out of fuel and crashed, and putting the suspicion on the captain and copilot.

The Americans put up a good show, first diverting attention and search efforts in the South China Sea while the plane was on its way to the Indian Ocean. Then they came out with conflicting statements and evidence to confuse the world. The Australians were their accomplices.

The amount of effort put up by China, in terms of the number of search aircraft, ships and satellites, searching first the South China Sea, then the Malacca Straits and the Indian Ocean is unprecedented. This indicates that China was very concerned, not because of the Chinese civilian passengers, but because of the high value cargo and its eight top defense scientists.

Incredible? Perhaps we will find out in a future episode
