Nov.29 Movement: dissent in action

This article is by a friend who requested not to be given a byline:

With a slogan “Dissent without action is consent,” part of the statement read by Brig. Gen. Danilo Lim at Manila Peninsula stand off last year, former Vice President Teofisto Guingona led a group yesterday that gave a face to the November 29 Movement. They vowed to flood the streets of Manila with a “sea of humanity” to show the world that people power once popularized by the Filipinos cannot only be in Edsa.

The November 29 Movement had since been just a name as posted in the Sundalo Tagapagtanggol ng Pilipino website, but yesterday in a press conference Guingona was joined by a few others who were earlier detained with Senator Antonio Trillanes IV as an aftermath of the Manila Peninsula siege. They form part of the movement that they say was brought forth by a spontaneous convergence of citizens from all walks of Filipino life and persuasions to protest an act against the specter of corruption and social political cancers enveloping the country.

“Dissent without action is consent,” Gen. Lim called from the parapets of Manila Peninsula in the protest stand on November 29, 2007 in Makati. That call reverberates with compelling intensity in the wake of Jun Lozada’s brave action and shock waves of truth stirring the people into a new wave of people power which the November 29 Movement supports and joins to rectify the seven years of illegitimate rule born of a twice stolen presidency that Gen. Lim stressed in his November 29, 2007 statement and sustained by unprecedented collssal corruption Sen, Trillanes protested at Oakwood 2003 and the group of Gen. (Renato) Miranda and Col. (Ariel) Querubin in 2006,” Guingona said reading from a prepared statement.

The movement however do not support a successor in the person of Vice President Noli de Castro that as they call him surrogate of Arroyo, must go with her to pave the way for a snap election.

“The nation must start with a clean slate. No room should be left for elements of the old and corrupt regime to perpetuate itself in a political succession that ensures the protection and continuance of the Arroyo cabal – behind a new face. The surrogate Noli de castro must go with Gloria lest all hope for change and justivce, recovery and progress be dashed and obliterated,” Guingona said.

The movement has declared that the deafening uproar is raised for an end to Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo, the first Gentleman, their family and their cabal’s tyranny and insatiable gluttonous greed because the Filipino’s patience has been breached by the multi-billion Impsa to the Bolante fertilizer scam, from the Diosdado Macapagal Road to perdition to the “road users” scandal, the inordinate tax increase and the public utility rates rip-offs, to the infamous election cheatings punctuated by the “Hello Garci” and Bedol scandals, graduating to abductions and “extra-judicial killings.

Atty. Argee Guevara said their will support, join and continue indignation rallies that they believe “will lead to its logical conclusion of bringing down a tyrannical government.”

While the Edsa shrine was symbolic of the people power, Guevarra said Edsa is no more than a major highway. But today’s rally can mount a long kilometer stretch of people in Ayala. And they vow to continue to extend that stretch of people in the days to come that will measure far beyond Edsa, until Arroyo is driven out of the Presidency.

The Edsa Shrine, the stage for the two people power that ousted two Philippine Presidents had been effectively closed to rallies and similar gatherings since the May 2001 Malacanang siege when thousands of Estrada supporters held rallies there and marched to Malacanang in what was called short of Edsa because it failed to kick Arroyo out.

“Tuloy-tuloy na ito. Habang si Gloria ay magcha-chacha, kami tuloy tuloy ang pagmamarcha,” Guevara said with former soldiers who have become part of the November 29 Movement wearing the red Magdalo armbands in the background.

I think they should bring back the death penalty.

    Here’s my prayer for tomorrow:
“Father in heaven, please guide your people. Be at their side and protect them from harm. I implore you to help them CAST AWAY the EVIL intentions of this regime.
These I ask of You, through Christ our Lord . AMEN

Enteng: While like you I would like to have death penalty back..nagbabago ang isip ko tungkol diyan..ano kaya kung community service for life..kay GMA maglinis siya ng toilets sa buong palasyo while in prison? sa kay Luli magpunas ng lahat ng mga salamin para makita niya ang mukha niya ..sa kay horsey Mickey mag mow ng lawn para ipakain sa lahat ng kabayo ng mga kutsero; sa tatay naman mag pakain ng mga baboy na kinakatay araw araw sa palengke; kay dato naman magpakain ng mga aso..lahat ng mga dept heads nila ngayon ay bigyan din ng assignments..para matikman nila ang hirap ng buhay..and like the Prodigal son they will go back in real prayers to God..

Tapusin ang rehimeng Arroyo-Pidal, ngayon na!

We keep on saying that we should let Gloria stay because no one can replace her from among the present leaders (politicians), but look what is happening, our country is sinking deeper and deeper in the quagmire of corruption and lies. Our future is being corrupted, corruption has become the norm instead of exception. Mga kababayan, the time for ’wait and see’ is over, let us now participate and be counted in today’s rally in Makati. The time to act is NOW!!!! Let us do our own share and sacrifice, this is nothing compared to what Lozada and the officers who are detained now, has done for this country…KAYA SUGOD NA MAMAYA!!!

  11. sato11 sato11

This will be my first time to attend a rally just to show my support in the crusade to change this corrupt government.

Matalino ang gob, they are always one or two moves ahead of those planning to oust gma, and they have succeeded only because most of the middle class are hesitant to participate. We doesn’t like to jump from bad to worst gov’t..But this time, it is already too much to bear…We must now ACT and ACT swiftly!!!! I just hope that the men in uniform will follow their ideals and the people and not their chain of command.

    sato11,

    Mabuhay ka! Take care.

chi, thanks. kita kits tayo mamaya sa rally!!!

  14. Tuloy tuloy na! Walang urungan!

Golly, maaga akong pupunta sana sa temple namin pero I’m so excited for the rally today, hindi ako makatulog. 12:30 session na lang siguro ako pupunta. Good luck sa lahat! I’m submitting names of friends in the rally at saka pangalna ni Lozada for a special prayer at our temple kasi talagang talab ang dasal doon.

  15. I’m for the capital punishment, too. It was sanction by God as a matter of fact perhaps to help eliminate the evil ones dahil mahirap magbago ang mga taong akala nila pirmi silang tama. Gloria Dorobo and Company surely deserve to face a firing squad. Sabi nga “A tooth for a tooth, an eye for an eye.”

  16. …was sanctioned….

  17. Inaantok na ako. Tulog na muna ako. Oyasumi!

  18. Me, too, ayoko si Noli.

Enteng Butete: I think they should bring back the death penalty.

Only for the Arroyo-Pidal mafia members.

    Amen to your prayer Elvira.

My son is now in the Philippines. He will join the rally.

Today’s reading: Ask, Seek, Knock Matt.7:7-8′”Ask and you will receive, seek and you will find. knock and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks will receive, and anyone who seeks will find, and the door will open to him who knocks.” Today we ask for the truth. Today we seek for the truth. Today we knock at the door..the heart of Neri to open his mouth and to tell us the truth.. Today is the day..

  22. Rose, talab iyan. That’s why I am going to the LDS Temple in Tokyo at noon today. I believe in the power of prayer. In His Own due time, God makes His Will known. You bet, it is not His Will that this woman be president. Kaya nga kailangan iyang magnakaw ng boto. Now, maybe, we will see what God’s Will really is! Hopefully, His Will is the removal of Gloria Dorobo now! It’s time for the reaping na siguro!

by the way, nabasa ko about feng shui as the reason kung bakit lumipat ng opisina si mr. wetness.

tama nga siguro: rhyme pa ~~~ apostol, pulpol!!! hahahha

—-May I know what verse in the Bible states that capital punishment was sanctioned by God?

  26. Myrna, the one is barong is Fr. Robert Reyes. I’ll make a caption. Sorry ha, pagod na pagod na ako last night and I’m now preparing to go to Makati.

  27. Personalities in photo: In light blue barong is former Vice President Teofisto Guingona, to his right is lawyer JV Bautista, next to JV is Dominador Rull.

To Guingona’s left in white barong is Fr. Robert Reyes, next to Fr. Robert is lawyer Argee Guevarra.

  29. BB:

  31. happy gilmore happy gilmore

sige nga, i dare all of you honorable bloggers,

and i will quote a famous person in this verse :

“Let he (or she) that is without sin, cast the first stone”
