Warrant of arrest for wife of Jun Lozada

Sr Estrella Casteleone forwarded to me this text from Rodolfo “Jun” Lozada, star witness in the NBN/ZTE scandal:

A warrant of arrest was issued for Violet from the Regional Trial Court in connection with the complaint filed by the PNP and Mascariñas.

We are posting bail.
Violet is down.

They are trying to break me by hitting Violet.

The names of the prosecutors: John Erick Flordeliza, Joseph Guevarra, and Jessica Junsay-Ong.

Violet was charged by the PNP of perjury for filing a petition for habeas corpus for Lozada when her husband was kidnapped upon his arrival from Hongkong last Feb. 6.

Mascariñas is Police Senior Superintendent Paul Mascariñas whom Jun Lozada he met in a restaurant with lawyer Antonio Bautista when he was being given driven around. They even reached Laguna.

The National Union of People’s Lawyers last March condemned the PNP suit as harassment.

“NUPL condemns the continuous blatant violations committed by executive officials against the rights of others. The filing of a perjury case against Violet Lozada, the wife of ZTE witness Jun Lozada, is another example of the use of legal processes to harass witnesses. While Violet Lozada was charged with perjury for merely exercising her right to file a habeas corpus petition on behalf of her husband, executive officials such as Usec. Gaite, Sec. Lito Atienza and others are not subject to the same treatment for lying during the Senate investigation. The fact that Violet Lozada ‘saw’ her husband the night before she filed the habeas corpus petition does not settle the issue of custody and threats against the life of Jun Lozada, and Violet has all the right to seek recourse from the courts.”

  1. But Ellen, what did the wife Jun Lozada do to deserve such treatment? What is this gangster attitude by the police bound to achieve? To get to you? If they cannot get to you, then surely, they have nothing legal against you!

    Ano naman kagaguhan yan?

  2. At least, we have confirmed how this Mafioso government operates. This should be reported to some international body that can and will discipline the Philippines. Or best, let’s all do our part informing leaders of our respective governments from whom the idiot beg for loans, etc. not to grant her any more money to use to oppress the people of the Philippines. It’s the least, in fact, we can do to help stop this kind of abuses.

Also, pasalamat pa rin tayo ito pa lang ang klase ng harassment na ginagawa nila kay Jun Lozada and family. Next time, baka iligpit na si Violeta to break down Jun.

I hope none of us here will be mere silent watchers of what is happening in that land of our birth. Bobo kasi for allowing the police to be under the military, which apparently is ignorant of how the police should actually function. Kakasuka!

Instead of those who abducted Lozada being arrested and prosecuted, they now are doing this to him. This action is in anticipation of JDV’s testimony at the Senate. This is to prevent Lozada from appearing and collaborating what JDV would say. If I were JDV, I would testify ASAP and not wait at the right time. The right time might be too late…

  4. Anna, Chab, I lost track of the cases against the Lozadas.

Violet was charged with perjury by the PNP for filing a petition for habeas corpus against them for her husband.

This was when Jun was kidnapped upon his arrival from Hongkong and driven around for several hours up to Laguna. It was only because of the noise created by media that Lozada was brought to his family.

The PNP denied the kidnapping charge. Thus the suit against Violet.

  5. bitchevil bitchevil

The ocular inspection conducted at the airport could be used as basis for calling those goons to appear again at the Senate. Their version conflicted with the actual events. But, why the long silence?

Pati asawa, pinatulan pa! Ka-cheapan ni Arroyo!

  7. Chabeli Chabeli

Thanks for your reply, Tita Ellen. The PNP is Gloria’s bully dogs.

  8. parasabayan parasabayan

Sad but true, some of the AFP and PNP men are reduced to simply the evil bitches “bulldogs”. The Philippines has turned into an underworld operation where the hoodlums call the shots! I thought this is just from the “mafia” days.

Sana hindi man lumabas kahit isa.

  11. klingon klingon

Tama yuung nagsabing this is a criminal syndicate masquerading as government.

What happened to the habeas corpus/writ of amparo case?

Kung buhay pa ang kaso, this is the classic definition of a preudicial question. The habeas/amparo court may find that there was wrongdoing, which merits a temporary protection order. Kung ganoon, hindi nagsisinungaling si Violet. This will be in direct contravention of any finding that Violet perjured herself.

Dahil puwedeng magkakontra ang possible findings, the criminal case may be suspended to await the findings of fact in the amparo case.

Kung nagkaroon nga ng protection order si Jun, then that is in fact a finding that there was basis for the complaint/petition of Violet – a finding by a court higher than this RTC. A finding of probable cause in the criminal case contravenes that higher court’s finding of basis to grant relief under the rules on amparo.

Do we have any update on the amparo case?

    I EXPRESS MY UTMOST DISGUST!!!

what is wrong with making sure your loved one is returned home safe? WHAT?

even the allegation that violet saw jun the night before doesn’t merit the case. it was simply to show and emphasized a citizen’s mistrust on the police, hence the need for habeas…

  14. zen2 zen2

don’t blame me if i perceive the PNP as shock-troopers of the Pidals.

hence, PNP, would mean these days, as the Pidal’s National Police.

  15. Gabriela Gabriela

My fear is coming true: in the end it’s Jun Lozada and his family who will be jailed and punished while Abalos, Neri, Arroyo and company will be laughing all the way to the bank.

Dear Lord, please stop this insanity.

  17. hk_ofw hk_ofw

  19. bitchevil bitchevil

You hit it…many laws made were bad after 1986 including the 1987 Constitution. Blame it on Cory’s bright boys. Many need to be amended but no one wants to do this because many of those who were responsible are very much active in the government today.

  20. Valdemar Valdemar

Lets leave the matter to the lawyers. Thats their baby. Its always a fight between the best and the better or the recto boys. Just be very careful with what you do. You cant always get or afford the bright ones, they are busy fighting for the administration.

above post should NOT be taken to mean that i wanted to embarrass the Chinese people represented by its government, but merely to call their attention that a couple of their nationals (Party officials, maybe, still could not be determined) tasked to man a partly-government owned company, the ZTE, is out to rob the people of a sovereign nation by complicity—by engaging into a patently onerous contract with criminal elements claiming to represent my country.

i always have great respect and admiration for the positive strides Chinese people made in the past, and their capability to build a better future based on honest, fair shake with their neighbors.

  25. Zen2:

Wala akong balita kay Orly as a matter of fact. Totoo ba iyang balitang iyan? Suggestion siguro ni Reyes who is said to be Orly’s best friend.

If he accepts that position, nakakadismaya siya because he was telling me that he was no longer interested in getting into dirty politics. Tapos magsisilbi siya under a corrupt regime? Puede ba! Malaki naman ang kinikita niya sa Japan. Bakit gusto pa niyang magsilbi under a dorobo?

Sa totoo lang dapat iyong mga appointees ni Gloria Dorobo should be protested by the career diplomats na nagmumukhang mga kawawa versus the incompetent and unqualified political appointees. It should be stopped by all means.

As for the ZTE/NBN scandal, puede nating pagtulungan na mabigyan ng publicity iyan sa Japan as a matter of fact. Let’s have lunch in Tokyo together with some concerned Filipinos and Japanese. Taya ko.

Magandang ipamigay ang mga materials sa mga kaibigan ko sa Japanese and foreign correspondents clubs dito re this scandal involving a semi-government Chinese company. People here will be reminded of the downfall of Kakuei Tanaka re the Lockheed scandal. Magaling sila dito to put two and two together! Lets expose this here! Walang biro!

  26. PSB:

Hindi mag-solicit, kundi mangupit! Iyong mga grants from the US, China, UK, Spain, Japan, Singapore, etc., lahat iyan utang na babayaran ng mga pilipino forever!!! Saklap di ba?

I heard there’s one former actress named Jobelle Salvador now in Japan actively running an organization to help Filipino women in trouble.

  28. Valdemar Valdemar

  29. zen2 zen2

    Val,

there is no other way, certainly there is no way, to defeat the criminal syndicate who have taken over our Nation at gunpoint, except by banding ourselves together into a Movement–even if it is loose, we must be organized .

the enemy lines are clear: those at the other side are bunch of calculating, cold, deliberate, and highly organized criminals —schooled in the black-art of Machiavelli.

diversity has its own rewards. we may come from diverse backgrounds and exposed to differing set of realities, but if, individually and acutely realizes and share, that love of country (though, may sound rhetorical to some) is as important as taking a meal—then, we are off to a good head-start.

‘ Palawakin pa sana ang mga organizations…’, you say and i agree wholeheartedly, and will drink to it.

and if i may add: these organizations must learn to network, coalesce with each other, and unlearn the bitchiness.

only then, we stand a chance of winning. and remain close to our ideals.

  30. zen2 zen2

    b.evil,

if what you have shared is true, and a friend of hers; exhort her to work contact Yuko.

united we stand, as they say. and i agree.

  31. zen2 zen2

    Yuko, friends;

i’m mobile for the next 9 days or so, but continues to log whenever a connection is available. am more than willing to start our little ‘Manhattan project.’

sound others off, too. and that includes everybody, every justice-seeking soul of Ellen’s blog-site.

we may need your suggestions, from time-to-time, but requires your support 24/7…

  32. Never heard of that person, Bitchdevil. Hopefully, she isn’t one pretending to help Filipinos but have hidden agenda like a lot many I know who pretend to help but actually just keep the problem there for them to have something to profit on and brag about. Even in helping Filipinos, there are just a lot many fakes. 😛

  33. Zen2,

I’m thinking of taking up your suggestion to push the Chinese here to check on this ZTE/NBN scandal. Contact me privately and I will tell you what my friends and I plan to do. I have friends in Mainland China who may be interested to help. Siyempre ayaw din nilang mapahiya.
