Nobody’s listening to Arroyo

Gloria Arroyo has lost control. She should re-sign.

She has lost control not only of herself (look up her throwing tantrum video last Monday in YouTube) but also of the government.

She should resign to spare the country further destruction, not only in terms of loss of lives but damage to democratic institutions.

Calls for Arroyo to resign are nothing new ever since the “Hello Garci” tapes surfaced which exposed her to have masterminded cheating in the 2004 elections. But she has effectively placated her political adversaries. This time, however, she has expended her political capital. Derided by majority of Filipinos, Arroyo’s words have no value.

Even MILF spokesman Mohagher Iqbal is not taking her seriously.

Asked by ANC’s Tony Velasquez about Arroyo’s latest policy statement abandoning negotiation and shifting to “dialogue with the communities” (whatever that means), Iqbal said, “I don’t want to comment. Kapag ang isang tao ay emotional kung ano-ano ang nasasabi.

Iqbal must have also observed that Arroyo is confused and panicking. Her statements give us reason to doubt if she has a good grasp of the situation on the ground. What does she mean by “Engagements with all armed groups shall be about disarmament, demobilization, and rehabilitation or DDR.”

Is she ordering the AFP to disarm the MILF? Is this an order for an all-out war?

At this time when the people have had enough of secrecy and obfuscation, she comes up with declarations that “From negotiations, our focus shall shift to dialogues with the communities or government conducting authentic conversations or dialogue with the people… about the people and government telling armed groups to give up armed struggle.” The people telling the MILF to give up their arms? Hello?

Arroyo’s deputy spokesperson announced the cancellation of the GRP-MILF Memorandum of Agreement On Ancestral Domain that would have been signed last August 5 in Kuala Lumpur had it not been for the temporary restraining order by the Supreme Court. She said the government will work out a new agreement with the MILF.

MILF’s Iqbal rejected any suggestion of renegotiation.

Fr. Eliseo Mercado. OMI, who has worked closely with the GRP-MILF peace panel said, “GMA is suspect from the very start. Whether we are for GMA or not, the fact remains that her credibility and popularity are almost nil. No peace agreement anywhere in the planet can be negotiated with that standing.”

Mindanao is being held together by the military taking to heart their Constitutional duty “as protector of the people and the State.” Arroyo, the commander-in-chief, is merely catching up with the armed forces. In fact, she issued her order for the military and police “to defend every inch of Philippine territory against MILF forces, and immediately restore peace in the affected areas in Lanao de Norte” when the military was already conducting mopping up operations. MILF’s Commander Bravo was already back in his “territory” after attacking municipalities in Lanao del Norte, burning houses and killing those who resisted.

The people have to be thankful that AFP chief Alexander Yano does not share the view of his predecessor, presidential peace adviser Hermogenes Esperon who told North Cotabato Vice Governor Manny Piñol that it’s the policy of the government not to “sacrifice the lives of the soldiers” if communities are attacked by MILF if the MOA on ancestral domain if blocked by the Supreme Court.

Arroyo should take her cue from her 2005 visitor, Pakistan President Pervez Musharraf, who resigned last Monday after nine years in power rather than be impeached. She is in no danger of being impeached given her hold on the pork barrel-loving congressmen. But if things get out of hand and Arroyo is seen as incapable of governing anymore, more messy scenarios could unfold.

She still has the option to resign and negotiate her exit which could include exile in a castle in Europe where she can enjoy her brandy. That’s definitely better than being ousted and landing in jail.

How can people negotiate with a liar and cheater? Such a person doesn’t deserve a minute of discussion. Sorry but the Bitch will never resign…if that’s the call again. What if she says “Over my dead body”? What would you do?

  2. J J

Ay naku Ms Ellen. Don’t allow this bitch an exile! Pagbayaran niya mga utang nya!

But seriously I think I agree that peace negotiations should come after disarmament of the MILF.

BTW, I got that info (that GMA gave orders to wipe out MILF people AFTER the AFP had already begun their mopping operations)from my uncle. He’s into rumor-mongering and couldn’t confirm it when he told me that, which is why I didn’t write about it in my blog immediately. But thanks for confirming it here. If you have more info about it, please do share. 😀

Could it be that the reason why she couldnt control herself that day was because she was hell worried that the AFP was already moving even without her approval? That’s dangerous really.

Exile? No country would accept the Bitch. Maybe somewhere far away in an African jungle.

  4. etcetera etcetera

Send that bansot in exile in Afghanistan and live with the Taliban since she loves those MILF…..hahahaha….and let Taliban do her a belly dance so that she will lose weight…..ahahhahahaa

  5. bitchevil bitchevil

Why let Taliban make her do a belly dance? Let Taliban open her belly and eat all her internal organs.

  6. There should be a petition to the US government not to grant her and her family exile should the Filipinos succeed in removing her. Even when she steps down, this creep should be put to jail to serve as precedence to all those kuratongs in the Philippines. Itis the only way to stop graft and corruption there.

Wala kasing nakukulong kaya walang mga dala. What the idiota exhibited during her tantrum was nothing but abuse! It should be condemned. She acted as if she owned the Philippines and all were her subjects.

Pati iyong kapatid ni Ninoy nataranta. Hindi pa lang siguro nasisigawan ni Gloria Punggok kaya hindi pa nagre-resign, or kahit sigawan, magtitiyaga dahil para nga naman siyang little president na rin. Yuck!

I’ve been deciphering the Little Cuckoo’s new “dialogue with the communities”. I’ve read everything about it from the online newspapers, pero hindi ko pa rin matumbok.

Unless she’s copying McCain’s effective strategy/style of “dialogue” with the small groups, then that’s it…kopyador talaga ang pekeng presidente kahit hindi naaayon ang style sa goals.

First the MOA is cancelled said an assistant deputy undersecretary underling named Fajardo, then that is negated (expunged) by subsequent Palace statements. It is emerging from the haze that Ate Glue is not just losing her cool, she may be flying off the handle as the stress of setbacks in the Mindanao conflict and the MILF getting out of hand. Chi might just get her wish to see her Little Cuckoo.

    to ellen,

These hubbub in our country were all brought about by too much politicing. Every body wants to be on top either oppositions, administrations so on and so forth. Politicians always there to highlight them selves for personal purposes.

Have you ever met or heard a politician that rejects due recognition after he/she had served truly in our country?

I have a suggestion. i hope you will appriciate these:

    1. If i would be an instant senator/congressman, i will immediately pass a bill that will prohibits businessmen and women to enter politics. If ever he/she was already a wealthy man, he/she is obliged by virtue of law to give all his wealth to less fortunates and shall only enjoy his/her due honorarium with his/her family. This is what a true public servant means.

    2. Every week, all public officials particulary the president, senators, congressmen, governor, mayors and cabinet secretaries shall publicly render reports of accomplishments to the people and accept valid recommendations to ordinary people. With this transparency will reign.

    3. Election shall be undertaken immediately once political hubbub arises that affects the economy of the country.

    4. Immediate trials of suspected law breakers, and

    5. There should be only one rule, “The Golden Rule”.

    Atty Efren Castro Says:

August 22nd, 2008 at 5:12 am (Edit this comment)

Great column you have here but certainly it is lacking of substance. You know better that your column is based on hearsay, surmises, conjectures and speculations. In fact, it is interesting to note that your opinion does not live up to the level of a grade school kid. Rather than encouraging peace in Mindanao, you are being divisive and has a polarizing attitude. Which is why, there will never be peace in that part of the country if we have people like you who knows nothing but destructively criticizing the government rather than suggesting a solution to the problem. In short, your column is very subjective indeed.

You want the President to resign because she lost control not only of herself but also to spare the country from further destruction. By the way, that is a normal reaction of a good leader who cares for her country. The MILF broke the peace process agreement by attacking the civilians. Just because the MOA was not signed, does not give the MILF a good reason to launch an attack. Because they did, they are not really serious in having peace. The government cannot succumb to the wishes of MILF on how to solve the conflict peacefully.

You also mentioned the “Hello Garci”. By the way, it was not proven that the President cheated or masterminded the cheating of the Presidential elections in 2004. If the majority of the Filipinos ridiculed the President, there is no evidence to that effect. President Arroyo is still the President. She was elected by the majority of the people. Why there was no coup or why did the majority people not rise against the President. Simply because, the majority of the people did not believe that President Arroyo did cheat during the 2004 elections. Therefore, you have no basis in saying “ Arroyo’s words have no value”. Her words are more valuable than your words in this column.

If MILF Mohagbar Iqbal spokesman is not taking the President seriously, then the MILF is not serious in having peace in Mindanao. He doesn’t know what he is talking about. In the first place, it is only the President who is authorized to sign the MOA. If he is not taking the President seriously, it is meaningless for him to be a spoke person of the MILF.

Tony Velasquez statement is just his opinion and does not reflect the emotions of the President to resort to “ dialogue with the communities” after all the President has realized, in view of unnecessary opposition to the signing of the MOA, that this is the right thing to do to appease those oppositors who even brought the MOA to the Supreme Court. If Mr. Tony Velasquez cannot accept the fact it is normal for the President to be emotional (1) because she is a woman, and (2) because she wants to put things in the right perspective, then he is not a human being.

Now, Mr. Iqbal says that the President is confused and panicking as opposed to Mr. Tony Velasquez observation that the President is emotional. Without doubt, because she is the Commander in Chief of the AFP, the President has a good grasp unlike the MILF people, of the situation on the ground. That’s why she has the National Security Adviser. The President realized that the MILF must be crushed because they cannot be trusted, they are not serious in bringing peace to Mindanao, they are not really in on protecting the innocent people living on those affected areas. And I think this is the right thing to do if we want to have peace in those areas. The big mistake of the government in the past in dealing with the insurgents is that it was not pursuing vigorously the military option. Which is why the NPA is still around in Luzon and MNLF and MILF still exist in Mindanao. The government lacks the courage to quell those insurgents militarily.

It is perfectly fine if Arroyo’s approach in solving this conflict is no longer complacent indeed. The government should ask the NPA or the MNLF or the MILF to lay down their arms and end up the conflict. After all when the MOA is signed there is no reason for the MILF to continue the conflict and that is the right to do. It is not the “people telling the MILF to give up their arms” . It’s the President of the Republic of the Philippines. Hello?

President Arroyo realized that there are some constitutional pitfalls in the MOA. However, the President has not given up, despite the Temporary Restraining Order of the Supreme Court, her desire to enter into an agreement with the MILF in order to bring peace in some areas in Mindanao.

Iqbal because he is very naïve of the situation, rejected the renegotiation. If its true that there are some constitutional issues on the MOA then those issues should be dealt with accordingly. In the same time, the government must pursue a dialogue with the inhabitants after all these people are the parties in interest.

Fr. Eliseo Mercado is wrong in saying that President Arroyo lacks credibility. Who is more credible to bring peace in Mindanao other than the President herself. Do we need a popular President in order to have a peace agreement?. I do not think so. President Bush may not be a popular President but his functions one of which establishing foreign policy matters, has never diminished despite his unpopularity.

You are wrong to say that “ Arroyo , the commander -in-chief, is merely catching up with the armed forces. Her order to defend every inch of the Philippine Territory against the MILF is a an excellent judgment by the President after all the MILF are just bunch of criminals. The order augments and jibes with the military operation in Mindanao. The fact that Commander Bravo has already retreated after the attack is not an excuse to pursue him and his men to the hilt.

The people should not be even thankful to the AFP Chief Alexander Yano about his policy not to sacrifice the lives of the soldiers if the communities are attacked by the MILF or if the MOA on ancestral domain is blocked by the Supreme. This is not a good policy. It is the role of the soldier to defend our country and that includes giving up his life whenever is necessary. This policy is demeaning in rendering public service. Our military policy should be to crush those insurgents so that peace can reign over the Mindanao region.

President Musharraf resigned rather than be impeached in order to save his face. I think it is improper to conclude that the pork barrel issue pays a major role in the impeachment proceedings. The pork barrel is being given at the discretion of the President and you should be a President before you could that. Unfortunately, you are not. If the President has violated the law and the violation is impeachable as provided by the Constitution, there is no reason why she would not have to undergo an impeachment proceedings.

Therefore, to suggest that the President should resign and go to Europe is somewhat despicable or you just want to share her brandy.

  19. Atty Castro,
You are a confused soul. You do not know what you’re talking about. Take your medicines and get some sleep.

When you say “You want the President to resign because she lost control not only of herself but also to spare the country from further destruction. By the way, that is a normal reaction of a good leader who cares for her country“, are you saying losing control is a normal reaction of a good leader or is it resigning that is? Either way, it doesn’t support your argument. The way you construct your case makes me doubt and I’m sure many here, too, that you’re really a lawyer. Even if you are, I further doubt if your clients get their money’s worth.

Then, you say, “The MILF broke the peace process agreement by attacking the civilians. Just because the MOA was not signed, does not give the MILF a good reason to launch an attack. Because they did, they are not really serious in having peace. Where have you been all these years? These are the same “Lost” commanders who have been attacking civilians in 2000, 2001, 2003, 2005, and again this year! All those years the ceasefire and the peace process have been in effect. And what did your beloved president do? She returned all MILF bases and camps captured by our brave soldiers who put their lives at stake, many of them losing theirs in the process. It’s the same “Lost” commanders who have never been put to justice after eight years of her term that continues to ravage erstwhile peaceful villages to this day because an inept government which cannot perform its basic duties is in place. Alas, you now realize the MILF are not serious in having peace. But I will have to douse cold water on your fervor, this government, more than the MILF, is itself not serious in having peace.

You go, “You also mentioned the “Hello Garci”. The oft-repeated legal refuge of Arroyo fanatics doesn’t work in the court of public opinion. She has already lost her case there. She is guilty the moment she admitted the phone calls. She reminds everyone who knew Stalin who said, “The people who cast their votes don’t decide an election. It’s the people who count the votes that do”. Evidence, my ass. You wouldn’t see it even if I stitched it into your eyelids. Your kindergarten logic betrays your profession, that she is in power because majority did not rise for they believed she did not cheat? Are you telling us just because Filipinos didn’t resist the Spaniards until 400 years later that they believed the Spaniards were good? Where’s your sense of history? And of course, you value her words. We don’t. What’s with “Isang bala lang kayo” or “Abu Sayyaf is history” or “I am not running for reelection” or “I only knew of the bribery the night before I left for China” and many, many more? You can go to Equalizer’s blog and check his list. We don’t value the words of a liar, especially not those of a nut who says she talked to God. Moreover, we don’t care if you do because you said you’re a lawyer, eh? Hey, you even wrote that Mohagbar Iqbal is not taking your president seriously. Who does, anyway, you?

Now you seriously think she has ONLY NOW realized which is “the right thing to do”, you are further destroying your client’s credibility. Ok, not that Tony Velasquez needs me to defend him even if we were classmates in college, you cannot just conclude “he is not a human being” if he can’t accept that Gloria can be emotional “because she is a woman”. Man, you even have sexist issues, don’t you?

And then, you’ve totally lost it. “The big mistake of the government in the past in dealing with the insurgents is that it was not pursuing vigorously the military option. Which is why the NPA is still around in Luzon and MNLF and MILF still exist in Mindanao. The government lacks the courage to quell those insurgents militarily“. The reason why gov’t isn’t pursuing it vigorously is because it doesn’t want the insurgencies to end. Shocked? Yes, because you’re in denial. They let the NPAs fortify their strongholds while they kill the activists, a surefire formula for the rebels to gain more sympathy. Tell me, how many NPA camps have been overran by AFP in Gloria’s watch? In contrast, how many activists have been killed or abducted? You don’t end the war by killing the unarmed and leaving the armed ones to live as they wish. On the MILF front, why would gov’t return camps previously captured if it is serious in dealing with the insurgency? Another question, of the 130 warrants issued after the beheading of the Marines last year, how many did they arrest so far? How many are still being pursued? It doesn’t help, too, that government’s no-ransom policy is all but paying lip-service and has even provided the bandits with fresh funds to replenish their supplies. Hey, Commander Kato and Bravo are wasting Millions of money in those skirmishes, where do they get their funds if they are not following orders from Murad? Are they receiving funds from the other side? Were they ordered by that side to begin the shooting so when it spills over, she can finally declare emergency rule and scrap the constitution altogether?

Ellen is right, Musharraf has more dignity than Gloria. Even her loyal followers call her “evil” and “bitch”, don’t they? No self-respect left even down to her last decent molecules, how do you expect others to treat her? Gloria is just so thick-faced you can beso-beso with her in her office while you’re still at the gates of the Palace. THAT is despicable.

I suggest you don’t take everything for their face value. Dig deeper. Depth is the opposite of gullibility. Only the truth can set you free.

  23. Of course we need a popular president whom we believe in and can rally behind with through thick and thin, thats why we have elections right? Like it or not, our leaders are chosen on popularity also otherwise these actors/actresses won’t run. What does it mean when a President is unpopular really? She’s unpopular because the people don’t relate to her, feel cheated, feel left in the dark, and most of all “are wondering why is she President when we didn’t vote for her in the first place?”

It was not proven because Arroyo used all means to block the rtuth from coming out. Remember the Mayuga report? Why was it not made public? But it doesn’t mean that the public does not know, and does not believe.

That’s what malacanang, with all the people’s money being used to hide the truth, cannot control- people’s belief in the truth that Gloria cheated in her way to the presidency.

Electoral cheating is a crime. That’s what Gloria arroyo is so afraid. That’s why she is using all means to hold on to power forever.

Ronnie Puno says the initialed MOA is different from the one that was about to be signed.

I worked in government too, and usually, the signing document is compared to the initialed one, because the initialed document is the last agreement before the polished print. The initials indicate that the working group attests to the fidelity of the document to what was agreed upon in the meetings.

If Ronnie Puno is telling the truth, that means they were intending to pull a fast one on the MILF.

So two sides get screwed – the MILF, because they do not get what they want; and the people, because a cha-cha is fast tracked on the allegation that peace is on the horizon.

Pretty neat, but it has to abide by 11th Commandment – Thou Shalt Not Get Caught.

When caught, abide by the 12th Commandment; deny to death i.e. executive privilege.

When denial is not believed, abide by the 13th Commandment, blame somebody else – Piñol, Lawrence Cruz, or Lobregat, or all three.

Lets leave the atty efren castro alone. He’s black, blue and in heaven defending gloria. I think he’s a sadist/masochist, loves to see our people and country hurt by gloria and loves more being hurt. Poor atty.

To the subject. I can see the rats in gloria’s ship jumping overboard. It will be each man to himself soon. Everyone in gloria’s circle are confused now. They’ve been dishing out conflicting statements. Especially asslickers like farjardo and others.

Its pathetic seeing gloria who claims to be President of RP throwing a tantrum. Its totally unbecoming and demeaning of the Office of the President of the Republic. Imagine a Commander-in-Chief (CIC) like that giving orders to the soldiers whose lives are at risk in Mindanao. Have mercy on those brave and patriotic soldiers. For sure those soldiers are cursing gloria for the mess she has created. I hope those same soldiers are planning a nice surprise for her. A surprise to boot her out of office or better yet this world.

Me, I’ve stopped listening to gloria long before she stole the Presidency. She talks in a forked tongue, but what really riles me is while we put a lot of blame on gloria, we seen to be forgetting that there are these people who benefited a lot from her. The likes of ermita, puno, abalos, neri, garcia (gsis), enrile, santiago, remonde, gonzaleses, esperon, palparan and many other. These rats have started fading into their lair which they have padded with the riches they have stole.

Re: You are wrong to say that “ Arroyo , the commander -in-chief, is merely catching up with the armed forces. Her order to defend every inch of the Philippine Territory against the MILF is a an excellent judgment by the President after all the MILF are just bunch of criminals.

Your bogus President Gloria Arroyo is also a criminal. She violated the Philippine Constitution ‘X times since 2001 EDSA DOS power grab. What Philippine Territory against the MILF? MILF fighters are not foreign invaders. They are locals. You are confused like baby.

  43. You also mentioned the “Hello Garci”. By the way, it was not proven that the President cheated or masterminded the cheating of the Presidential elections in 2004.

  44. The message posted in another thread Ellen by someone calling himself an attorney sounds familiar to me. It was posted in another blog, I think, and sounds more like the husband of the pakensyet to me!!!

As for the fact not proven as claimed, it is not because of lack of evidence of the commission of crime but because of the allies shrewedly positioned in the now Department of InJustice of the Philippines, etc. that the criminal cannot be properly prosecuted and sent to jail. But as the old adage says, “Crime does not pay.”

May araw din ang kriminal at mga kakutsaba niya. And that is, when the Filipinos have learned what justice, etc. is really all about. Kahit na siguro pagputi ng uwak!!! Pathetic!!!

The people should not be even thankful to the AFP Chief Alexander Yano about his policy not to sacrifice the lives of the soldiers if the communities are attacked by the MILF or if the MOA on ancestral domain is blocked by the Supreme.”

The policy not to sacrifice the lives of the soldiers if the communities are attacked by the MILF was the policy laid out by Esperon, not by Yano, and it caused an uproar against this treasonous policy of bansot’s peace adviser kuno. The people are thankful to AFP Chief Alexander Yano for moving quickly to, at least, neutralize MILF without waiting for bansot because your president bansot is doing nothing. She just let our soldiers and people die, in the communities, in the hands of these bandits.

“The fact that Commander Bravo has already retreated after the attack is not an excuse to pursue him and his men to the hilt.”

So, once these bandits retreated that’s it? Do not pursue them anymore. You want these bandits to live another day so that they can kill more of our soldiers and people in the communities in the near future?

Hahahaha…Take note of what you wrote, “pork barrel issue pays a major role”. So, you already admitted that it is just a matter of PAYS for the impeachment process whether it will prosper or not. Your president had only given pork barrels to her congressmen allies and never to an opposition congressmen. Not only that, it was widely publicize and admitted by at least three congressmen, other governors and mayors, that they received brown envelopes inside malacanang, which is a wholesale blatant bribery. So, pork barrel and brown envelopes were not paid by your president to stop her impeachment?

Fr. Eliseo Mercado is wrong in saying that President Arroyo lacks credibility. Who is more credible to bring peace in Mindanao other than the President herself. Do we need a popular President in order to have a peace agreement?”You are equating popularity and credibility as the same thing. They are not the same. Look at your dictionary. Credibility is a someone who is trustworthy. Popularity is the state of being widely admired, accepted, or sought after.

Your commander-in-thief and your de facto president bansot, is not a trustworthy person because of her constant lies like the Hello Garci tapes, gave Spratly Islands to Chinese, joc joc bolante scam, coup d’etat against President Joseph Estrada, etc…..Hence, your president bansot is not trustworthy or credible to enter in peace agreement or any agreement. Your president will just use that peace agreement to extend her term.

Your de facto president bansot is definitely not popular because she is fat, has tantrum, a grievous voice, and malandi….hahahhaaaa

“President Bush may not be a popular President but his functions one of which establishing foreign policy matters, has never diminished despite his unpopularity.”

The foreign policy of Pres. Bush is the reason why he is unpopular to American people and throughout the world. It is his foreign policy in Iraq. He used bogus evidences that Iraq has nuclear arms as a pretext to invasion.

As people commemorate Ninoy’s death anniversary, question always pops up: Was it fate or free will that led Ninoy Aquino to decide to return back to the Philippines on August 23, 1983 knowing of the tragedy that awaited him upon his arrival? Even as he wore a bullet-proof vest, Ninoy told the journalists accompanying him on China Airlines Flight 811 from Taipei that they “have to be ready with your camera because this action can become very fast…in a matter of 3 or 4 minutes it could be all over…and I may not be able to talk to you again after this.” He was right.

I hate to be the spoiler, but as long as whore Gloria has the brown bags at her disposal, those that matter the most to her will listen. It’s a reality of how things in the Philippines and the whore exactly know how to play the game. The whore should be qualified to receive a gold medal, if medal would be awarded for distorting the truth and manipulation. Whore Gloria knew fully well that almost everything has a price which is the reason the whore is still in power. Whore Gloria is in power not because of her looks nor of her honesty or integrity, but she buys things with the People’s money. And we got people in high places and positions that has been bought, people without shame. It would be safe to say that all personnel working in Malacanang, especially those close to the rear butt of the whore has been paid off more than their worth, Cabinet members enjoying the bribes from the bitch, justices, of course got their share of the brown bags. So, I believe, listening is subjective, resulting from individual’s mind.

Hi Ellen. I guess Atty. Efren Castro might have misread your blog entry about my interview with Mohager Iqbal. He must have read the part where Mr.Iqbal remarked “I don’t want to comment. Kapag ang isang tao ay emotional kung ano-ano ang nasasabi, ” and mistakenly thought that the comment came from me. Oh well, we get all kinds of viewers on ANC. Their opinions are welcome, but I know we can’t always expect each and every viewer to get his or her facts right before they dish out criticism. I couldn’t help but chuckle though with Atty. Castro’s comment that if I “cannot accept the fact it is normal for the President to be emotional (1) because she is a woman, and (2) because she wants to put things in the right perspective”, then I am “not a human being.” Well, hopefully Atty. Castro will get to reread how you wrote your blog entry, and realize that the term “emotional” was used by Mr. Iqbal, and not by me. But in the four years that I covered the first term of PGMA as a Malacanang correspondent, I can safely say that, yes, I knew she can be “emotional”, aka “matarary” or “masungit”, and yes, I always knew that the only “right perspective” was her perspective and nobody elses. As for Atty. Castro’s perspective, your other readers have sufficiently and eloquently described it for me. ‘nuf said.

Might be valid but was asked with sarcasm. Many are much better than her if she’s removed. The problem we face now is not who would replace her but how to oust her.

  69. Matt Geronimo Matt Geronimo

I prefer that Gloria Arroyo be impeached and be given the necessary punishment than letting her resign. Her kind has no place in the society of mankind, but should be in Gehenna to suffer the rest of her life. If we let her resign, she will just go to another country and request political asylum. Then she and her family will enjoy the “kurakut” that they took from the people. What say you?

  70. The problem with impeachment is that it is a numbers game, Arroyo has entrenched herself deeply with congress, combine that with appointees in the SC, and her minions are so quick to the draw in immunizing her by filing 3-page impeachment cases. In short and simple language, she’s mastered the game already…
She must be persuaded to resign or booted out of office, for as long as she stays the country will continue its downward spiral unnoticed from the outside because some of us are gullible enought to buy her facade of “ramdam na ramdam ang asenso.” She and her minions are like termites eating the house from the inside, eventually there will be nothing left but an empty shell…
History will only repeat itself if we let it, we are not slaves of fate, we are capable of deciding our own destiny if we work for it, what we need to learn here is how to get off our lazy butts, stop meditating on the “ifs” and “buts” and just DO IT!

  71. Arroyo would actually welcome an impeachment attempt…

  72. I’ve often floated the same question “if not Gloria, who?” waiting for someone to give me a complete, viable, alternative, so far I haven’t been that lucky. I know why though. Its because none of us here are in the position to do so, its up to our leaders in the opposition to plan it and then we help out, the key words being “help out.”

  73. You all want Arroyo to be remove but you are facing a big question right now; how to remove her from office? Who will replace her?

    If Gloria is remove:
I would like to take this opportunity to nominate Madam Auring.Hey Guys! we need someone clueless sitting her ass in Malacanang so big business can get their way.Oh wait she has a magic crystal ball and tarot cards in both hands.’

Has anyone noticed that Kabayan who hate opposition and people along the riles and love Gloria actually don’t pay attention to politics.

It’s not possible to hope that the bogus president will resign voluntarily and unconditionally. The midget has a burning desire to stay in office. She likes the position, she likes the sense of power, she likes the respect people give her, especially Esperon,Ermita and the Defensors, she likes being invited to important functions.Although, the host always regretted her presence because of her Palakpak boys, she attended anyway without a formal invitation, her office is all she has, and without it she will be a broken woman like a retired prostitute along Magsaysay drive in Olongapo.Arroyo will cling on until she is dragged, kicking and screaming, out of her office.

  74. As usual Cocoy is right on the nose, although I can’t imagine her kicking and screaming being dragged out of the office like a spoiled brat…wait, the Youtube video nga pala…hahahahaha 🙂

Bitchdevil, i think u missed the point. Have u not learned from history, i do not need to elaborate.

  76. nahnah,
As I said, history will only repeat itself if we let it, so we don’t. After we get rid of Gloria we must be vigilant for the first two to three years, I mean, if we are able to get rid of her we could have developed that political will already by then…Why so low a self esteem?

  77. nahnah,
Going after be will not solve your underlying self-esteem/self-worth issues. Political changes need people of strong commitments, attitude, and deep love for country and justice. We have to transcend perceived limitations (historical or otherwise) and not be afraid to make mistakes, why, do you stop yourself from reaching for worthwhile goals because you’re afraid to make mistakes?

Question was asked and discussed in this segment, “who will replace whore Gloria Arroyo?” It’s of my opinion, it really doesn’t matter of who’ll replace the whore, if we’re to respect the constitution as it’s written. First and foremost, the whore must be prosecuted and impeaced for all her crimes to satisfy the requirements of the rule of law. If the whore found guilty, whomever the next person shall take the place of the whore. Such process must be respected at all time, irregardless who in power. We shouldn’t judge the individual until it’s proven not worthy of the highest position. I don’t know if I like or not Noli, but he was elected as the next in line and who are we to deny the will of the people. If Noli is to be found guilty of any wrong doing, the law must also applies to him. The whole purpose of the constitution is to provide a basic guidelines in governing, at least it’s the intent. Of course, we all already knew the whore doesn’t recognize the constitution for her own conveniency. The highest priority at the moment is how to get rid of the number one hoodlum, the whore of Malacanang, and nothing else.
