Dahil wala nga tayong batas, wala tayong magawa.

  1. Tell you what Ellen, if the JV Ejercito is allowed to run, let him para labo labo na.

Why bother holding elections if these family dynasties usually and almost 100% just keep passing the seats among themselves? Imagine the money saved, the cheating avoided, and the chaos and controversies averted. Then we can call the country The Kingdom of whoever is the Head of State and when it is passed down to Junior it becomes a Kingdom of Whoever jr., then they can have their own constitution, army, and let them do whatever they want, they are doing them now anyways with out let up. Maybe then, they’ll try to Govern better now that it is their own Kingdom.

  3. Maybe then, they’ll try to Govern better now that it is their own Kingdom.

Don’t quite see it that away, Vic. As we say in French, “Chasser le naturel, il revient au galop…”

At that level, once a crook, always a crook – hard not to be cause to stay there, they gotta up the ante.

  4. vic vic

But anna, eventually the wells will dry up and they themselves will run of water to drink and subjects to rule over, don’t you think it is better for them to redeem themselves before that time? Otherwise the dynasties will be just in their sad memories. But maybe they are convinced that dynasty is as endless as the power and wealth that come with it. Imagine when you have that millions and millions, it seems endless. I can only imagine..

  5. Vic,

What you say is how it ought to be, the moral way, but these guys don’t believe in how things ought to be unless it is their way.

As I said, at that level, once a crook always a crook – they are capable of crooking themselves (dayain ang sarili sort of) if there’s no other to crook.

Look at Gloria, coz she’s a product of great PR and marketing packagers in the likes of Billy Esposo (he revealed how they packaged his favorite political harlot, no amount of makeover can hide what she truly is, a crook of the highest order. The saying “chasser le naturel, il revient au galop” is so true.

And to protect her crookedness, she’s raising and breeding crookstoo – Mikey the gambler and if we aren’t careful, she’ll send her children to the different places in the Philippines – much like what Rothschild did to his sons – to conquer and enchant her lost kingdom.

No, these guys are un-redeemable. In my view, they ought to be guillotined to set as an example.

Cut the heads that way the body will “stop galoping!”

    Good am every all!!!

Being in Naga City, no time na akong hanapin pa yong post ko weeks ago tungkol sa family affair sa senado as per observation of Gabby Claudio, the political adviser of GMA. Kinantiyawan niya ang oposision of thinking ot having a family reunion in the senate, in the same vein as what Kit Tatad said.

May karagdagan akong scenario, assuming those mentioned here will run and win:

    1. Lucky Manzano will be a so lucky to have dad, Edu Manzano and dad-uncle Ralph Recto in the senate.
    2. Reelected Loi Estrada will join again her son Jinggoy and Jinggoy half-brother JV Ejercito. But what if Erap will spring a surprise and he himself run? There will be husband and wife and two sons.
    3. Pia Cayetano will be grinning ear to hear to see her brother Allan Peter joining her. It will be a sister and a brother team.
    4. Nene Pimentel will be happy to see his bar topnotcher son, Koko, joining him in filibustering in the senate. It’s like the one time popular singing duo, Father and Son.
    5. If some candidates in the opposition will be kind enough to allow Noynoy Aquino and Tessie Aquino-Oreta to be included in the ticket, there will be an aunt and a nephew.
    6. Unfortunately, Bong Revilla’s brother inlaw, Bobby Jaworski did not make last time. And should Ramon Revilla has stil the staying power, it could a father, a son and a son inlaw.
    7. I wonder why Sen. Biazon did not push his son Cong. Biazon of Muntinlupa for a slot in the senate. It could be another father and son.

    Wala na ba akong nakalimutan?

  7. vic vic

Cut the heads that way the body will “stop galoping!”

Then I hope they are still keeping those guillotines in working condition in France just in case. But any other methods will just be fine. It will be just as final and as good as an example, but it has to be done to be an “example”.

  8. Joeseg, listen, since you’re still in Bicol, perhaps, it would do Pinas a world of good to ask Mt Mayon for a bit of help but Gloria and all these ambitious, enchanted kingdom wannabes should be invited to a picnic at the foot of Mt Mayon – pray hard so her majestic mount would erupt and bury them in their own volcanic kingdom.

    Pooh!

Pinas is becoming a helpless case by the minute (problem is the darn situation is so contagious – I am ranting about like I’m still a helpless case too now!)

  9. apoy apoy

Family Affair?? If that is the result of our present struggle, so be it..Ilan ba ang Arroyos and her cronies sa gobyerno? After all this is a dog eat dog soceity..It truly hurts but what else can I say? That unano who calls herself president is the root and cause of this gluttonic plague..Are we just gonna sit down and let her eat us alive?? Puksain ang salot..
    Patalsikin na , Now Na..

  10. Not to worry Vic! Mr Guillotin’s technology is now in the public domain, patent wise and I don’t believe I’m wrong to say that it can easily be re-manufactured, after all, it’s for a good cause.

I say “Down with their heads, the lot of them!”

  11. chi chi

An anti-dynasty law should have been in place long time ago. But the tradpols who regard congress and senate as their domains just didn’t care for the simple reason of ‘transmittal’ of positions to their sons and apos.

It’s rather too late for Tatad to take this up, election is just 3 months away. Perhaps, when the bogus president is gone, this issue should be made a priority of the well-meaning politicians.

As of now, the priority is to topple dictator Glueria. If a third force will not emerge to offer some better candidates, and the choices will only be limited to Kiko Noted Cuneta, Ralph Recto Santos, JV Ejercito and Koko Pimentel, I won’t have regrets supporting the last two names. I will not consider any names belonging to the administration side.

  12. joeseg joeseg

    Anna

Inspite of Villafuerte, Salceda & Andaya who are close aides of GMA, Bicol votes will be a resounding defeat to ravage the administration surpassing the fury of typhoon Reming. Kahit hindi na mag-erupt ang Mayon Volcano because once it erupts, lalo na. It would mean they are for the candidates of Erap, kasi it will be erupt nang erupt..

Allow me to post this I earlier posted sa sinulid na “si Gloria na ang Isyu” which at latest count is past 380 postings aleady.

A few hours sleep is good enough basta nakabasa ako na ng lastest postings dito kay Ate Ellen’s blog.

Mrivera, Isabel, everybody. I’m not going anymore to Legaspi City. I have been in Daet so many times in the past. The town is well known as the birthplace of basketball star Atoy Co. Simula nang magkaroon ng Quirino Highway, hindi na halos ito nadadaanan going to Naga, Legaspi or Sorsogon.

    Chow!

  13. Mabait lang talaga ang mga Pinoy! Mapatawad to those who are in power kaya these guys don’t have any more respect for them.

Gloria and all these crooks know they can get away with it.

    joeseg,

This will be my last post for today. We are about to go. Muli kong babagtasin ang kaparangan at kabundukan.

    I think Ate Ellen’s bloggers have found another ally in JB Baylon, who almost exactly shares our feelings and concern in the forthcoming elections;

Look at JB Baylon wrote in his column in Malaya which I am partly quoting and what a description:

The question now is, will the Filipino people use the mid-term elections in May to show their true colors?
I urge all those who seek a government that is truly accountable at all times to the sovereign Filipino people to throw all the rascals out and elect only those deserving to be called our representatives. Surely, if Americans can use their mid-term elections to deliver a stinging message to the administration of George Bush that its policies no longer have the support of the people, we can do the same and more.

Make no mistake: the elections in May will be a fight between a people seeking accountability and a government seeking to escape it.

We have seen the true colors of this administration; the colors are a mixture of the colors of the rainbow coalition with the pot of gold at the end only for them, and the color of green for dollars, in millions, which are stashed away outside of our country far from our reach or our prying eyes.

It is time, I think, that we turned them black and blue.

  16. Anna, you said, “Tell you what Ellen, if the JV Ejercito is allowed to run, let him para labo labo na.

Kit Tatad is being self righteous, aside from maybe yes sour graping. Ellen: Again with your permission, I would like to let you and your readers and visitors knew that Janice Del Rosario, was arrested last night, Jan. 15 and is detained for deportation to the Philippines. Her husband is still at large. We can thanks the Toronto Star for the Publication of the story that led to the tips and a speedy arrest. She was already under Canada Wide Arrest for failure to present herself for deportation. I just hope that she will be prosecuted fairly and justly within reasonable time over there.. for details you may check Today’s Torstar Front Page: http://www.thestar.com/News/article/171503

Again thank you and may this be a lesson to others…

My post seemed not getting in. Give it another try.

    Ellen,
Follow up the Janice Del Rosario case, (wanted for fraud in the Philippines and Canada), She Was arrested last night.

    http://www.thestar.com/News/article/171503

Her Husband Kaye still at large. She is under detention, pending executing outstanding deportation order and she is also wanted by the Philippines Authorities for Fraud.
Hope she will be justly tried for her alleged crimes over there within reasonable time if ever she won’t contest the order, again on the ground that she may not get a fair trial over there. Now that would be another delays, just like the Pacificador extradition case which he eventually won for the same reason. But this woman if she choose to stay will also be tried for frauds here, but the punishment for fraud here is so lenient and she may get only less than two year for that Huge scams..

  58. Loi not running for reelection? I second the motion. The former First Lady can do better doing her charity as a medical doctor. She is better at that than meddle in dirty politics.

Kabayang Spartan at Cocoy, what Tatad said about “Family Affair” was okay except that it was done in bad taste. He mentioned it at a time when he was not included in the ticket. The Arroyos, Lapids and other families in many provinces that are controlled by the same family names for years. I personally think Tatad is a better politician and legislature than many of those right now.

  62. Yuko says “For me, Ellen, Anna, the Great Creep has always been an issue from day one she grabbed the presidency,”

    Absolutely, utterly, totally, completely agree!

  63. mandirigma mandirigma

I absolutely agree too. Arroyo has been the issue from day one. For almost six years of her stolen presidency, look at what she has done?

  64. mandirigma mandirigma

Look at what Malacanang and this government did a few days or a day before the filing of candidates started. Now tell me, do you still ask why Puno was appointed as DILG Secretary? He was given that post precisely for this purpose. Expect more actions from this Puno before the day of the election and even after.

  65. We hate these dynasties because we have seen that they are at all beneficial except in cases when the children are brought up right and the head of clan is not corrupt as in the case of the Tanadas, but how do you teach, especially those in the provinces, to be wiser not to vote for those who are known to be crooks and have been there only to enrich themselves as in the case of the Macapagals, etc.?

I could not help raise an eyebrow in fact listening to the CNN interview with Imelda Marcos where she claimed that Filipinos were mostly literate and highly educated. What she does not seem to realize is that there are a lot many Filipinos out there who cannot read and write, and a lot many children being pulled out from school by the Great Pimp’s lure of overseas jobs as in the case of the 13-year-old being recruited to fill up jobs in bars and clubs in Korea and even still in Japan where they are now banned. Now, how do you teach these kids not to support and vote for these crooks when they can vote?

Huwag na ninyo munang pansinin si Tatad. Let him cry and heal his wounds.

Ka Cocoy, I prefer a mixture of old and new. The new learn from the old’s experience while the old learn from the new ones’ new ideas. The bottom line is, kaya ba nila?

  69. cocoy cocoy

Mandirigma: This are my 3 bets right now,–Koko,Allan and Chiz.Any potential candidate you can suggest you are more welcome my friend and I will do some research about them. Then we can negotiate,is that a fair deal for you?

  70. Tongue T,

Sa totoo lang ang sakit ng ulo ni Binay, et al in trying to get the right people to include in the Opposition slot. Madaling malito.

BTW, my condolence to Trinidad. Kung ako sa kaniya, idedemanda ko si Gongonzales for abuse, etc. lalo na hindi pala confirmed to serve. Bakit hindi nagrereklamo ang mga pilipino diyan? Dapat diyan kumikilos ang mga miyembro ng mga bar association to stop these abuses and for the lack of the rule of law.

Nakakaawa talaga especially when I compare the situation there with our situation here in Japan.

To Jay Sonza, Batas and others… i think they have a better chance if they run for a House seat in their districts.

  72. artsee artsee

  73. TonGuE-tWisTeD TonGuE-tWisTeD

Exactly, John. I’ve always advocated Orbos’ Politics of Sacrifice as the paragon of virtues which candidates should possess. In terms of strategy, it’s always wise to put in there people the voters would actually vote for high on list. In the end, it will be a balancing act of these criteria by the selectors who must decide who makes the cut.

In the Phils., winnability had always been given more weight than idealistic virtues, especially if you are pitted against a dirty opponent who’s got the 3 G’s: Gambling Lords, Generals and Garci. We can talk about setting moral standards for candidates and other goody-goodies for other elections. Not this one.

It’s tough for the opposition hopefuls who are straight and have unblemished reputations but they must give way for those who stand a better chance.

  74. TonGuE-tWisTeD TonGuE-tWisTeD

The local posts, that of congressman especially, are as important, or even more important, in achieving change in this dysfunctional society of ours. We need more good men in local positions, than we do nationally. What bothers me now is that the opposition seems to be treating the House race very lightly when it requires equally critical attention.

I can only assume that the opposition candidates in the local arena think they are up against a well-oiled cheating machine, not to mention a campaign chest backed by the national treasury, and that is what makes them hope for inclusion in the Opposition’s senatoriables list. Locally, they may have to source their funds by themselves if not exclusively from their own pockets.

But change has its price. It will not be delivered on a silver platter for the easy taking. Sacrifices, hard work, sincerity, and yes, money and logistics are inevitable.

Maybe just what the country needs after all to take us out of this shithole we’ve been in for too long we’ve become immune to the stench.

  75. artsee artsee

Dapat ilagay sa Orbosman si Oscar Orbos. Sayang siya. Naorbos ang pera niya sa election noon.

  76. chi chi

  77. mandirigma mandirigma

If I may bug in Kabayang Chi, I don’t remember Orbos being a Congressman.

    Joeseg asked:

“7. I wonder why Sen. Biazon did not push his son Cong. Biazon of Muntinlupa for a slot in the senate. It could be another father and son.”

Having been mentioned in this thread, I would like to answer his question:

    1. Sen. Biazon does not and cannot push Cong. Biazon towards anything (as far as politics and career choices are concerned). We have always been independent of each other in making decisions although we do consult each other for advice and opinions.

When I decided to run for a seat in congress, he did not have anything to do with that decision.

    2. Although I came in from 11th to 17th place in both the SWS and Pulse Asia surveys, it was not enough to make me decide to run. The very issue of the senate becoming a “family affair” is the major reason. Two Biazons in the Senate is untenable.

    3. I feel that I need more experience than two terms in COngress to run for the senate (although aside from the two terms in congress, I served as Chief of Staff for Senator Biazon during his 1992-1995 and 1998-2001 terms and Chief Legislative Officer for Sen.Serge Osmeña during his 1995-1998 term.)
