Destab me

This could be part of the destabilization against the government,” sabi ni Noble.

Kung may “kidnap me” or “coup me”, mayroon ring “destab me.”

Kaya, destab me.

What a contrast indeed. I’m talking about how our two police forces conduct their investigations. The PNP started speculation even it start its invstigation into the bombing of Gov. Sanchez vehicle. The speculate this and that and the other side already denied and blame anyone that some of the alleged suspects may think the C-4 is Da Vinci Code. Whereas, few days ago, the RCMP arrested l2 adults and 5 minors suspects for terrorism related crimes and when asked for more details, it refused to divulge much, because as the officers said the investigation is still going on.
Not only that speculation compromise the case, but also hinder the progress of the investigations. Police should look at the case through the evidence instead of theories. No wonder so many unsolved crimes and so many crimes with impunity.. Leave the speculations and theories to us..

    d-4

  2. Could it be that Sanchez has grown too big for Ermita to handle? Could this be the reason why Ermita chose to downplay the incident to protect his interest? The military has stocks of C-4 too.

Ellen, Could you update us on the reported disclosure of 2 government agents tasked to conduct “staged” bombings in Metro Manila. They were supposed to be under Biazon’s protective custody.

  3. Batangas, like Ilocos Sur, has always been a highly troubled political arena.

    The spate of political killings, unsolved murders, guns for hire seem to have gone unabated;

Remember when the Laurels and the Levistes lorded over Batangas? Murder was such a usual occurence and seems it has become a provincial culture almost as bad as in the Ilocos region. Why, the Josons’ Nueva Ecija seems tame in comparisson.

    So what else is new?

The problem is given Gloria’s penchant for reacting in knee-jerk fashion to solve a problem that might endanger her hold on Malacanang, she may just listen to her bombastic advisers and opt for Martial Law.

Now, I do accept that Martial Law under Marcos was not ideal but wait, Marcos was a different kettle of brains altogether – he thought about things and did not just go about saying “Sige na nga!” to every tom, dick and harry of adviser.

Arroyo does not have the brain of a Marcos, let alone the education and so is more likely to commit monumental errors.

Didn’t MLQ3 himself divulge that Cory Aquino was quite hesitant to support Arroyo’s presidential stand at one point because the woman was simply staggeringly PRAGMATIC.

A pragmatist is just that – a pragmatist! Everything boils down to one essential element – the pragmatist’s own personal needs first!

  4. She thinks that’s her only way to survive. Until when? The sad thing about it is she will bring the country down with her.

Schumey, we have not heard anymore about those C-5 carrying military men. It’s worrisome.

  5. Schumey,

I don’t think Sanchez has grown too big for Ermita to handle.

Ermita represents the “establishment” and Sanchez has not grown his fangs to meet Ermita head on. Sanchez’ fangs are not of national political importance and Ermita was quite right to point that out.

I believe that the whole thing is killing, gangland style even if for the sake of argument, it was committed by NPA-related killers. Politics is a backgrounder but not the ultimate motivating factor. Maybe, Sanchez refused to pay “buwis” for his jueteng income so he got it. He’s extremely lucky that he only got pysically burnt. Ang kawawa ay iyong mga aides niya.

The problem is Gloria – she may be induced to believe (given her stupidity) that the bombing was politically motivated and might listen to her advisers to declare martial rule. Now, that is dangerous!

  6. I agree Anna, but going back to Ellen’s post about Ermita, Sanchez might want a bigger piece of the pie. Just like Chavit who didn’t want Erap to legalize jueteng. and we all know what happened to Erap. According to my “friends” in the north, Chavit is still lording jueteng over there. So the money train continues, all leading to the palace. As long as these gambling lords are happy, the princess will stay in power.

Illegal gambling has continued unabated. Poverty has been used as a tool by these people to control the poor. Immorality breeds immorality, we cannot expect the the right values to flourish while we have an immoral leadership.

  7. Schumey,

Chavit will NEVER, EVER let go of jueteng for as long as he is alive.

Unarguably, Sanchez might indeed want a bigger cut of the pie or perhaps, he didn’t want to share the pie.

Although I’ve never discounted Ed Ermita as being a recipient of a share of jueteng proceeds “wittingly” and “unwittingly”, I don’t see Ermita going to the level of ordering a contract on Sanchez, if that’s what you mean.

The bombing, I reckon is not politically motivated to the extent of “destabilizing” this government of the corrupt by the corrupt and for the corrupt like what Noble or ultimately, Defensor might claim.

What makes this whole illegal gambling dumbing is that Erap, who undeniably accepted jueteng balato from the likes of self-confessed, totally self-avowed criminals like Chavit Singson, tried to legalize gambling through friend Atong Ang and Dante Tan’s Best World Bingo. (That Ang was a snake, wasn’t he? He should have either come to a compromise or shot it out with Chavit and be done with it!)

When Dante Tan opened the BW holdings to would be investors, Senator Cayetano – hope his soul rests in peace – was one of the investors who, whether we like it or not, made a killing because of insider trading and lots of people I know made hundreds of thousands, millions of pesos overnight through insider trading. Yet, civil society, newspaper publishers and Church overlooked that or refused to face that when Cayetano and other anti-Erap guys in Congress were recipients of BW profits!

OK, Dante Tan used his crony drinking privileges with Erap to mount the bingo operations but really, it was the next realistic step towards legalizing gambling and there was no better way to do it than to meet the frigging culture head on, at least, government stood to collect tax payments on the income.

Now, look at what is happening! Not only has the frigging illegal numbers game proliferated so much more on a national, insitutionalized scale emanating deep from the bowels of Malacanang, it also prevents BIR from collecting taxes out of the income while our politicians in disguise are behaving the eternal criminal gangland leaders that they are in utmost impunity.

My opinion is that this government of Gloria’s (I suspect it is the husband and son Mikey who have the biggest cut) who had welcomed the king of gabmbling lords like Stanley Ho with the silent approval from the Philippine Catholic Church (when it violently refused Erap a similar scheme during his term)cannot legalize jueteng because there’s bound to be backlash from provincial governors, mayors, political kingpins whose main resources of personal income is jueteng and must protect their territories at all cost.

Gloria cannot rock nor will ever rock the jueteng gravy boat – she ain’t got the stature, worse, she ain’t got the political mandate to even begin to attempt to do it. Besides, what would the Pinedas say?

Hypocrites all the lot of them!

  8. Actually, one of the tangible ways to put down this government is to torpedoe the current set up of jueteng territorial operations – much like what they did and used against Erap. Jueteng is the weakest link in the chain. Destabilize it and I reckon, you destabilize Gloria!

However, someone has got to salvage the wreck from the wreckage immediately after the torpedo assault – someone who has the moral and the physical courage to stand up there and do it.

  9. luzviminda luzviminda

Yeah, i believe that one of the reason behind the bombing of the Batangas Governor is Jueteng cut. That’s how they run the government now.

MAG-INGAT AT MAGBANTAY TAYO!!!!

  10. luzviminda luzviminda

By the way, di ba we are already in an UNDECLARED MARTIAL RULE? That is why our military is behaving like BOGEY MEN and MONSTERS!!! And also our CURTAILED FREEDOM!!!!

KAILANGAN NA NATING MAKALAYA SA MGA KUKO NI GLORIA AT KANYANG MGA ALAGAD!!!!!!!

    Luzviminda:

You said it. According to my source, who is closest to the Fat Guy, who uses him now to boost the image of the Madre de Cacao of the Pidal Clan, the real mover of the number games, etc. is the Fat Guy himself. There is actually a proposal according to him to phase out jueteng or disguise it with bingo that is going to be the local version of the US Lotto.

My source is a gambling lord somewhere and says he can survive because of the patronage of the Fat Guy and the Missy by giving 5M pesos to the Pidal Fund everytime he plays his number games.

Manny Pacquiao, BTW, will stick to the First Couple because of the patronage of free Malacanang breakfasts, etc. Direct line daw siya sa Malacanang!

  12. ystakei ystakei

Eversince Reyna Engkangtada usurped the presidential seat from Estrada, this woman has not done anything but cry “Wolf, Wolf!” And her policy eversince is based on this premise of destabilization.

Ermita, I notice, has been doing his hardest to get noticed. Panay ang sipsip, ha! Nadaig si Bunyeta! I bet you that’s where the Pandak excells—encourage her aides to a contest of “Who’s the best Sipsip?!” and/or “Who can cry cloudest about destabilization?”

    Wala na ba talagang pag-asa?

  13. ystakei ystakei

Oops, it should be “loudest” not “cloudest.”

  14. ystakei ystakei

    Anna:

I like your “Tangna”! Ang lutong! I, too, have started saying a lot of it in reference to the Tangna overstaying at the palace by the murky river.

  15. Heheh!

    Yuko,

I was reading a comment by a commenter over at a blog somewhere a while ago and muttered well, quite loudly “Tangnang gago to”. My daughter heard me and she’s heard of gago and knows what it means but asked me what “tangnang” (mimicking me) meant – I didn’t know what to say! hahah!

Anyway, just read the following breaking news on Inq. “No tuition hike for state colleges, universities: Palace”…

Natakot si bansot! Back-out siya! Haha!

And people still believe she’s intelligent?

  16. I agree with all your comments. My insider before he passed away told me that jueteng is now centralized. During Erap’s time, kanya-kanyang area. They would only give “tong” so they may continue their operations. But today, you must have the blessings of “Fat Albert” before you can start operating. Talagang napapayaman ng husto.

  17. Hi Ellen,

    Re Destab

Cruz is apparently in Singapore (according to Philstar) attending a conference. He also gave a speech affirming that the Philippines clean up the country of NPA elements. Furthermore, he announced that “already the NPA manpower has dwindled by 13%”.

In that case, there’s no reason to fear the Reds that much anymore. According to the AFP, their records show that the NPA has a little over 8 thousand members so if they have dwindled by 13 per cent there should only be 7 thousand more or less left which shouldn’t be much of a problem anymore for our 120 thousand officers and men/women of the AFP.

Or is this another twisted data that Cruz is hellbent on selling to our nation neighbours just like what Gloria was trying to do with her 1:000 classroom/pupil ratio?
What is really stupefying is that one can hardly believe the statistics that this government of the “learned” kuno is spewing about like some mana from heaven.

In the first place, how did Avelino Cruz, who has no notion of what SOFA is, yet he trying desperately to have one signed between Australia and the Philippines KNOW that the NPAs have dwindled to some 7 thousand fighters or members?

If the AFP could report that figure to him as accurately as he seems to present it in Singapore, then for heaven’s sake, they must have first hand knowledge of where these NPAs are physically. In this case, why isn’t the government doing anything about it? Is it because the REDS are still a convenient excuse to cry DESTAB?

This government of bansot is feeding the public yarns and yarns of blarney.

I mean, you don’t know if they are even capable of telling one simple truth – everything this woman and her government of crooks spell out are just suspect!

Does Cruz think he can hoodwink those people attending the conference into believing anything he’s saying? He doesn’t seem to realize it but Bansot’s government is the least credible of governments in the region today. Our neigbours are sceptical – they don’t buy everything that this government says just like that; they’re polite but they sneer at the likes of Cruz!

    Tangnang bansot talaga!

  18. You are right. If there is such thing as perverted logic, that’s it.

    10 June 2006

    Good day to all!!!!

Let’s stick to the topic as much as possible. My questions is, who in the hell is responsible in bombing sanchez, of course, what do you expect from a government that is naive???but of course, to claim that it is part of the destabilization to bring down the administration (fake) of the leprechaun.

Gloria will do everything under the sun to stay in her stolen power, look at what came out in preparation for the 2nd coming of the impeachment??? claudio even claimed that the 2nd impeachment is “dead under the water” what does it mean???does it mean that the TONGRessmen are being paid again by the hoods and clowns of gloria to kill the impeachment???it could be given the fact that the same was done to killl the 1st impeachment.

Who has the power to appropriate, isn’t it boht congress, but right now malacanang is bragging trhat they can reimpose the porposed budget of the leprechaun.

Going back to the bombing of sanchez, My other questions is, “SINO LANG BA ANG MYROON C4, DI BA MGA SUNDALO LAND AT ANG KAPULISAN, BAKIT NILA BINIBINTANG SA IBA???all I can say, is that these administration of the fake president is already in the state of paranoia.

SNAP ELCTION ANG DAPAT NOW NA!!!!!

    Jinxies:

Even when we discuss something that may look out of the topic, what we post here surely can be relevant to the issue being discussed re the topic for discussion—the Madre de Bugao de Reyna Engkangtada de Familia de Pidal, et al!

You’re right, kung sino-sino lang ang pinagbibintangan ng mga sundalong kanin ng AFP who got their ranks from their fellow crook overstaying at the palace by the murky river.

Snap election you say? No dice if it is going to be run by the Midget’s political appointees at the Comelec. It’s going to be useless. What is imperative I see from my point of view is that the Midget is disqualified, arrested and prosecuted for crimes committed against the Philippines. Then, have all those she’s using as her speakers like Bunyeta, Ermita, Lomibao, Defector aka Defensor, the Fat Guy, et al arrested too as her accomplices if not operators!

Then they can run the snap election. Otherwise, it will just be the same old crap!

Next time, they fix the government there, they should limit the operations of the military to the basic—fighting foreign enemies of the state, not fellow Filipinos. Investigations of illegal and terrorist activities of “tulisan,” et al in the Philippines should be limited to the police. No need for two many police agencies. Just one policy-making agency like the Scotland Yard of UK or the National Police Agency of Japan and then local police works left to the local police departments. And next time, they hire policemen, they should choose the more dedicated and moralistic ones. Having concubines should be banned and made as a ground for removal from the police force permanently.

Otherwise, if they do not change the police system there, the present problems of the Philippines will prevail, and the same people with different faces running the same show.

    Tangna talaga, walang pagbabago!

“Next time, they fix the government there, they should limit the operations of the military to the basic—fighting foreign enemies of the state, not fellow Filipinos” by Ystakei..

I have been proposing the same since then, only one police authorities, only one justice system. Just like Canada. Our soldiers stay in the base until they are summoned to keep the Peace for the U.N., fight enemies anywhere in the world, and be at the forefront helping and aiding people in emergencies. Keeping the peace at home is left to our Police Officers.

The RCMP as the federal police authorities covers all territories not covered by local police and always there to help all local police athorities, and cooperating with all other intellegence services.

Just recently as four days ago, our police officers, set the best of how things done by preventing what could have been a massive terrotists plot against Southern Ontario (where I live) by arresting the alleged suspects before they can carry their evil deeds. And most of them are homegrown, citizens and long time residents, regular guys on the mill, your good neighbors, assimilated and very hard to detect. And they don’t talk as much as the PNP, but instead work. And they don’t shoot but instead bring their guys to court to face Justice. Back to our soldiers. It is also under one service known as Canadian Armed Forces. And all want to be called “soldier”. Ain’t that what they are??

  23. Anna,

Cruz’s assertion is to justify the DND’s budget. DND has a higher share than DepEd.

    Ellen,

How true is the rumor that GMA signed an administrative order giving the congress pork straight to the LGUs? This is why the LGUs are moving heaven and earth to push the Cha-Cha. No wonder Cong. Cagas is making a lot of noise. Should this AO be formalized, the tongressmen will surely hit the roof. This will surely cost GMA.

  24. Its funny how the administration has painted itself into a corner. Now, they have to defend anything and everything they say. Soon, they’ll trip over themselves. With all these blunders, GMA may soon find herself with nothing.

  25. E-mail from Narciso Ner:

Ellen wrote last month that PDI southern Tagalog reporter Ms Magsino interviewed Batangas Gov. Armando Sanchez on his being a so-called jueteng lord. The governor allegedly bragged that he is untouchable because he gives millions to GMA’s executive secretary, retired general Eduardo Ermita who flatly denied it when confronted by the lady reporter at Malacanang.

However, Gen. Ermita made a big bo-bo when he handed Ms Magsino an envelope with stack of 1000 php bills. When the honest reporter returned the money, Ermita insisted that she take it and uttered the incriminating words “tumahimik ka lang” (you just keep quiet).

Since the PNP and DOJ have made speculations as to the motive and the people behind the failed attempt on the life of Gov. Sanchez, maybe they should also look into the possibility that people in the highest echekon of the government had a hand on the bombings which left two families grieving for the two lives that were lost..

Is it therefore possible that Sanchez has already become a liability for being a loose cannon when he dragged the name of Gloria Arroyo’s right hand man, presidential executive secretary Eduardo Ermita in his jueteng operations?

Is it possible that Pampanga jueteng lord Bong Pineda wants to expand his lordship by taking over Batangas and environs so that he can provide the necessary financial support to the master of deception and queen of hypocrites for the charter change?

  26. Schumey, re pork barrel to be given direct to LGUs, check out my May 22, 2006 entry “Bleeding the country dry.”
