Plot against Querubin?

Is AFP Chief of Staff Hermogenes Esperon laying the ground for a more vicious and sinister plot against the six Marine officers transferred to Cavite in the darkness of the night first hour of Monday?

Navy Spokesman Giovanni Carlo Bacordo had said that intelligence reports uncovered a plot to spring them out. He specifically mentioned the bemedalled Col. Ariel Querubin.

But there are also talks that Esperon is merely laying the ground for the elimination of Querubin.
“They’ll make it appear that he was shot while escaping. The over-used script, you know,” a source said.

Aside from Querubin, the other five officers who were transferred to Fort San Felipe from the Marine Detention Center in Fort Bonifacio are Col. Orlando de Leon, former Marines chief of staff; Lt. Col. Armando Bañez, former deputy commandant for plans and programs; Lt. Col. Custodio Parcon, former deputy commandant for operations; Lt. Col. Achilles Segumalian, former batallion commander and Col. Januario Caringal.

News of the transfer of the six leaked last Oct. 25. But it was carried out on Oct. 12:30 in the morning of Oct. 30. The officers were not even given time to call up heir family to inform them of the transfer.

Yesterday was the birthday of Lt. Col. Bañez.

Left in Fort Bonifacio are former Marines Commander Gen. Renato Miranda; Lt. Col. Martin Villasan; Lt. Col. Rey Ocsan; Lt. Col. Valentin Hizon; Lt. Col. Romulo Gualdrapa; Majot Domingo Fernandez; and Lt. Belinda Ferrer.

The AFP implicated the 13 officers in the alleged withdrawal of support from Gloria Arroyo last February together with Brig. Gen. Danilo Lim, who is being held in isolation in Tanay, Rizal.

  1. Ellen,

If Esperon really thought of having Querubin liquidated on that pretext, Esperon is gunggong personified.

Querubin is a Marines officer, bemedalled and liked by his men.

If Esperon hoped to dampen the morale of the Marines if or when Querubin were killed while trying to escape, he would be disappointed. True, the morale of the troops might suffer if anything untoward happened to Querubin, i.e., death, but there would be a backlash.

I find it incredulous that even dumbass Esperon could think of that.

Oh well, almost anything is possible in Gloria’s Pinas.

Preparing for a Martial Law scenario after SC junked Cha-cha and JDV’s Con-Ass eminent death?

  3. Wonder, when brave men will stand and bravely confront Gloria’s taxpayers’ army who unfortunately believe they are Gloria’s private army or are led to believe Gloria is their true commander in chief…

Gloria is really bad news for this country.

  4. Chi,

I’m beginning to believe that Gloria is ganid she would do anything, virtually anything to cling on to power.

She might even be timing a possible martial law declaration during the Nov 7 elections in the US so Bush will be so busy and the US will not have the material time to castigate lunatic bansot if she ever does something as stupid as declaring martial law. Lolokohin, bobolahin at tutusohin lang niya ang mga kano pag nagkataon.

    Reyna na naman ang hudas!

  5. Nung pumunta iyan dito para mag pa star siya, walang pumansin sa kanya.

Tumawag ng press conference (after meeting with the EU president), walang pumunta kundi Inquirer at Bulletin reporters lang. European newspapers, di nagpunta maski isa! Hahahah!

Pati iyong correspondent ng Philippine Star, di rin pumunta. Para que nga naman, para magyabang sa kanila at magsinungaling lang? Heheh!

  6. chi chi

We are not lacking of brave sundalos and ordinary men. Nakakulong at naka- bartolina nga lang o pinapatay.

  7. chi chi

    Anna,
Bistado na sa US ang gilagid ni Glue. No amount of alembong ke Bush will prosper to her benefit. Iwas pusoy na si Bush sa kanya dahil sa dami ng complaints from Fil commune denouncing the Gilagid.

  8. Chabeli Chabeli

Expect b*llsh*t reasoning from a BAD EGG like Esperon! One must be a BAD EGG to begin with, to support a CHEATER, a LIAR and a THIEF! His actions show that he, too, like Gloria, gets nervous when he feels the “ground move”, makes hasty decisions. Yan ang STUPIDO!

Esperon is quick to forget that he was a MERE COMPROMISE when the Senate confirmed him to a 4-Star General!

  9. chi chi

It’s my belief, Anna, that Condi Rice will always have the material time to cut this demonya to pieces once ML is declared. Hindi naman kandidata si Condi. Malilimutan ba ni Dr. (Phd na tunay) Rice ang pang-insulto niyang natamo from this faker.

  10. Chabeli Chabeli

    Chi,
I, too, agree with your comments na “Condi Rice will always have the material time to cut this demonya to pieces once ML is declared…Malilimutan ba ni Dr. (Phd na tunay) Rice ang pang-insulto niyang natamo from this faker.”

A Ms. NOBODY ngayon si Gloria kay Pres. Bush, lalo na kay Condi. It would be interesting to see whether Dr. Rice will go to Cebu for the ASEAN.

It’s sooo easy to sense fear in Glue and her GGs these days. They’re already reaching the point- of- no- return which I think will dictate (very near) future events. Ano sa palagay mo, Chabeli? (Anna, gising ka pa ba?)

  12. alitaptap alitaptap

Perhaps we have here a repeat of history in the making. Bonifacio was taken to the hills of Maragondon where he and his brother were executed by Lazaro Makapagal.

  13. chi chi

Huh, history rewind…kung ganyan ang mangyayari ay humanda na sila. Because of obssesion for absolute power, Glue, her GGs, and others in her circle ignore our country’s history.

  14. Hello, Chi,

Gising pa ako dahil halloween – many children are ringing the door bell kasi. heheh! I almost forgot and sent my son before the grocery closed to get packs of of candy to give away.

Esperon, the 4-star lieutenant of Gloria big-time mandaraya, should be court martialled himself for continuing violation of the human rights of Lim, Querubin and other members of the military who still have to be heard in a proper, I said PROPER military court and not in an Esperon kangaroo court.

Walang hiya talaga itong si Gloria at si Esperon! And you know what? I just accessed Jose Sison’s column in Malaya and in it he is suggesting that Gloria is “overworked and needs to take a rest!”

Overworked? And whose fault is it if she cannot take a rest? With the number of crimes she has committed to the nation, she should be locked up in jail along with her 4-star lieutenant and for the keys to be thrown in the Manila Bay (mind you, am not suggesting that the key should be tied to the body of Gloria’s husband, the baboy cum baboy of all ganids, Mike Jose Pidal Arroyo before throwing the key to the sea!)

Now, that a conspiracy is being suspected, the more Esperon has to tightened security around these detainees, otherwise anything untoward happens to anyone of them, he and the adminnistration will be the Prime Suspects. And the over compliance majority members of the Armed Forces, the ‘true fighting men and women’ could be just a trigger away from a “real” one.
As for Joma suggestion that Gloria is overworked and tired, I suggest to take a long holiday in the North, like the Northwest Terretories or the Yukon and along with the Polar Bears, take her time to ponder Her sins, and may come back in the spirit of a Saint or a Witch. (sorry today’s halloween day and seeing a lot of the later). knock, knock.. trick or treat or threat..

  16. chi chi

    Anna,
I don’t read Jose Sison. I find him too flat 🙂 for my sensitivities. I know his a good person, but just can’t shrugged off the fact that he’s been working for FVR since I remember. FVR+JDV=Glue

If Glue’s regime ends, pwede pa bang i-court martial si Esperon? My niece just called from Pinas and said usap-usapan daw doon ang elimination project ng mga sundalos mentioned by Ellen above. Sabi niya, one comment she heard was “‘pag-tinuluyan nila si Querubin, katapusan na rin nila”. Baka kaya nagbago ang plano, nakapagisip-isip siguro.

  17. Hehehheh!

Vic, that’s funny! “Gloria is overworked and tired, I suggest to take a long holiday in the North, like the Northwest Terretories or the Yukon and along with the Polar Bears, take her time to ponder Her sins, and may come back in the spirit of a Saint or a Witch.”

I don’t think even St Theresa d’Avila could do anything to help her from turning into a witch… You remember when she made bola to Pope Benedict with her gift (daw) abolishing the death penalty, and then proclaiming that they are visiting Avila so her baboy husband could pay homage to St Theresa coz they are related daw – pati naman ba iyong santa doon lolokohin pa rin?

  18. chi chi

    Vic,
Bago magkalituhan, it is Jose Sison, Malaya columnist. Hindi si Joma na kapit-bahay ni Anna :). Unless Joma rin ang petname ni Ka Jesus Sison.

  19. Chi,

Talagang tapos sila pag namatay si Querubin while in the custody of the military, whether he was trying to escape or not, a dead Querubin would be a hard sell.

If Esperon thinks he would be saved when Querubin is killed – he is a dumbass but to be that dumb… well, ok, anything is possible, Esperon is probably dumb and getting dumber.

But really, killing Querubin would be the worse thing Esperon could do – the military would split evenly into two. Trust would disappear and would be replaced by FEAR. Also, think of the martyr syndrome. The marines would be capable of revolting!

When fear envelopes the military because the troops no longer have trust and confidence in their superiors and become scared for their life or their friends – the country would head towards either martial law or civil war. No other way.

  20. Heheh! Oo nga naman Vic… Baka either magalburuto o matuwa iyong kapitbahay ko pag sinabi mo na columnist pala siya sa Malaya! Hahahh!

  21. Ellen:

Will add this information in the files that we are submitting to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan as agreed during a meeting held at the Diet last Monday. There is a demand for the Japanese government to add this issue of the extrajudicial killings in the ASEAN meet in Cebu. I understand that there will be protests on this during the summit. Maghanda na si Bansot because her image overseas is nothing rosy. Kaya ingat si Esperon regarding his lousy cowardly actions. This may lead to an economic sanction, you know.

  22. Thanks, Yuko. The men of honor in the military needs the People’s help.

  23. Btw Ellen,

This is what the Inquirer says about Gloria and Rizal and of course, her husband Arroyo:

    Arroyo honors Rizal in China

    By Joel Guinto

Last updated 09:14pm (Mla time) 10/28/2006

JINJIANG — President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo paid tribute on Saturday to Philippine national hero Dr. Jose Rizal during the second day of her official visit to China, laying a wreath at a shrine to the national hero here before visiting a nearby branch of the popular SM mall chain.

A marker at the foot of the monument says: “Jose Rizal, Philippine national hero with roots in Fujian.”

The inscription also says Rizal is held in “high esteem” by the Chinese for his “noble character and heroic sacrifice.”

In speeches on Friday, Arroyo pointed out that Rizal and her husband, Jose Miguel Arroyo, are of Chinese descent, underscoring the strength of Philippines-China ties, which she said are at an “all-time high.”

Arroyo said her husband’s ancestors were from Xiamen city in southern China and his middle name, Tuason, was actually the Chinese name Son Tua.

“I am happy to be a great granddaughter of Fujian [province] and Xiamen,” she said.

At noon, Arroyo and her party will take a chartered flight to Nanchang. In the afternoon, she is scheduled to deliver a speech at Nanchang University.

Afterwards, the President will meet Meng Jianzhu, secretary of the Communist Party of China Jiangxi Provincial Committee and Huang Zhiquan, governor of the Jiangxi Provincial People’s Government.

On Friday, Arroyo witnessed the signing of several trade agreements between the Philippines and China. She is set to attend a commemorative meeting of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations + China.

Eh Intsik naman pala itong Tuason, so ang kamag-anak ni St. Teresa d’ Avila ay ang mga Pidal :)?
So,by husband Pidal’s association Glue became a great granddaughter of mga Intsik…and the fake story goes on until mag-speech siya sa Cebu then back to claiming na siya ay apo ni Lapulapu na kinuha sa tadyang nito. Naku, basta maka-impress lang pati apoy kakainin.

  26. Yes, you re right Chi. Akala ko ba ang ninuno ni Mike Arroyo ay sa Spain. At sinabi pang kamag-anak ni St. Therese of Avila. China na naman ngayon.

nasaan na ang katinuan ng utak nitong si esperon? paano siya makakaharap nang deretso sa mga kawal sa kanyang pagiging asal hayop at mangmang? he is outrightly ignoring the fact that colonel querubin and ltcol parcon are medal of valor awardees and should be given the highest respect and recognition having offered the ultimate sacrifice in their military career. he should have considered, first and foremost that even the highest official of the land is saluting the medal of valor worn by the recepient. kunsabagay, TANGA at walang pakundangan ang pekeng presidente sa tunay na kahulugan ng kagitingan ng kawal pilipino, ang AFP Sipsip of Staff pa kaya? naging heneral dahil lamang sa taos pusong pagtupad sa tungkulin ng kanyang mga tauhan at ang mga recognition ay buong kasuwapangang sinolo at wala man lamang pakunswelo sa mga nagsakripisyo. hindi naman katakataka dahil ang general military doctrine goes like this: “anyone’s service is indispensible if he is still contributing to any mission but can be dispensed with when he has nothing more to offer and is considered a liability than an assset in the military service after all the best of his ability has exhausted.” and everything is under the discretion of the one in command.

Sundalo.bravehost.com” — Web site of second nationalist revolution?

    By Alejandro Lichauco
    ANALYSIS

    11/02/2006

Last July, the cited Web site was launched by an anonymous group which claims to know the various rebel groups in the Armed Forces, such as the Young Officers Union (YOU), Soldiers of the Filipino People (SFP), Para sa Bansa (PSB), the We Belong, the Reform AFP Movement (RAM) and a good number of others.

In launching their site, the operators of same stated that its aim is to “be the most comprehensive portal and wellspring of ideas on the Philippine Military and Police in their continuing involvement in politics and rebellion in Philippine society.” Further on, it said their goal “is to provide accessible and available guides and frameworks which may contribute to the understanding and resolution of the rebellion — the elimination of its causes or the attainment of its objectives or both.”

The launch statement then proceeds to invite its readers to send in their contributing articles and materials.

If the Web site is indicative of anything significant at all, it is the apparent ideological motivation that inspires it. Judging by the image-portraits spread throughout the center of its eight-page maiden issue, the defining signature of that ideology is nothing less than the spirit of Bonifacio’s nationalist revolution. The center space of its entire eight-page spread is dominated by portraits of the nation’s revolutionary heroes: Rizal, Bonifacio, Mabini, Emilio Jacinto, Gen. Emilio Aguinaldo, Gregorio del Pilar, Antonio Luna, Artemio Ricarte and Santiago Alvarez.

Equally significant in the message conveyed by the images is that among the post-revolutionary political figures included in the center space only two are presented, namely Claro M. Recto and the fallen Benigno Aquino.

No question then that the Web site aims to be, if it isn’t already, the propaganda, information and educational organ of an emerging revolutionary class in the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) and which aims to inculcate in the nation’s military establishment nothing less than the spirit of revolutionary nationalism which gave birth to the Asian nationalist revolution against Western colonialism.

In one very real and very significant sense, the Web site unquestionably aims to reverse the decades-old colonialist, pro-American ideological orientation implanted in the nation’s military establishment by the US government acting through the chain of puppet political regimes which Washington installed in this country following the second world war — for the obvious purpose of preserving this country as an American neo-colony meaning, a state sovereign and independent in theory but in truth, fact and effect the virtual colony of an imperial power.

The colonial mentality implanted and nourished deliberately by the US government in this nation’s Armed Forces explains why the AFP has earned the reputation among Filipinos, particularly among nationalists, of being nothing more but a branch and adjunct of the Pentagon in much the same way that Malacañang is considered as nothing more but a branch and adjunct of the White House.

If there’s one ideological mindset that has unmistakably distinguished the nation’s Armed Forces and set it apart from the Armed Forces of the Asian neighbors, it is anti-nationalism. Since the last world war, the US government made sure that the AFP mindset identifies nationalism with communism, thereby breeding the notion in the nation’s soldiers that nationalists are the enemies of the State.

Let us hope that the Web site changes and reverses all that. The transformation of the AFP from one dominated by the colonial mentality to one dominated by a vigorous sense of revolutionary nationalism has now become a matter of the greatest urgency to this country. For the world, Asia in particular, is now in the grip of a renewed sense of nationalism and we can see that in the Koreas, both north and south, in China, Japan and the Asean states.

Unless this country’s military establishment develops the kin of nationalism that characterizes the military establishment of the Asian neighbors, then the Philippines doesn’t stand a grain of a chance of surviving in this age of fiercely competing nationalisms and we might as well resign to our eventual partition in the hands of our vigorous neighbors.

Perhaps that is what we are fated to be: An adjunct, and nothing more but plain adjunct, of stronger powers whose strength derives primarily from their vigorous sense of nationalism.

Let’s hope that the Web site “Sundalo.bravehost.com” reverses all that. But that will take some doing, and this writer isn’t quite sure that the goal stands a chance in the face of the continuing colonial mentality that prevails not only in the AFP’s rank and file but in the nation’s business, academic and religious communities. For we are a nation that continues to be ruled by what is essentially a traitor class.

    Chi,
Sorry for my late reply to your, “They’re already reaching the point- of- no- return which I think will dictate (very near) future events. Ano sa palagay mo, Chabeli?”

  35. Chi,

I’ve seen this site before and I am personally wary of its motives. While sounding patriotic, it reeks of psycological “warfare” so to speak. It could have ben put up to lure unsuspecting sympathizers of the Magdalo et al. It might have ben used as a gauge by the government intel to see how big the support for the Magdalo’s are. I have traced the IP address of one of its supposed to be members. The address was located somewhere in the mid-west, USA.
