The other survey

Proberz Research and Consultancy, a survey outfit used extensively by former President Fidel V. Ramos, has come out with its survey on senatorial aspirants who have the best chance of winning in the 2004 elections.

Proberz has not yet attained the stature of Social Weather Stations or Pulse Asia but I remember it to be the only survey outfit that had Fernando Poe Jr. leading Arroyo by 4 percent in its exit poll in the May 2004 election,. SWS had Arroyo leading by 8.5 percent.

Election results in Metro Manila proved SWS wrong. Much, much later, after the “Hello Garci” tapes came out, Proberz was proven correct.

For its survey of senatoriables last November, Proberz gave respondents 48 names and asked: “In the event that the senatorial elections will be held in November 2006, who among these personalities in the list that I have shown you will you vote for, assuming that all those in the list will be running for the Senate.?”

The result:

1. Former Senator Loren Legarda
2. Former Senator Vicente Sotto III
3. Senator Francis Pangilinan
4. Senator Ralph Recto
5-6. Senator Manuel Villar Jr. and Senator Panfilo Lacson
7-8. Senator Joker Arroyo and Sen. Luisa (Loi) Estrada.
9. Presidential Chief of Staff Mike Defensor.
10. Senator Edgardo Angara
11-12. Former Senator Tessie Aquino Oreta, MMDA Chairman Bayani Fernando, Former Senator Gregorio (Gringo) Honasan.
13-14 Rep. Francis Escudero, Former Senator John Osmena, Korina Sanchez, Mike Velarde.
15. San Juan Mayor JV Ejercito-Estrada.
16-17. Executive Secretary Eduardo Ermita, Press Secretary Ignacio Bunye, Manila Mayor Lito Atienza, Rep. Imee Marcos.
18-19 Rep. Allan Peter Cayetano, Ricardo Puno, Environment Secretary Angelo Reyes.
20-21. Rep. Benigno Noynoy Aquino, Former Senator Francisco Tatad, Mike Enriquez.
22-23. Rep. Ace Barbers, Rep. Satur Ocampo.

.

Proberz’s top five (former Sen. Loren Legarda, former Sen. Vicente Sotto III, Sen. Francis Pangilinan, Sen. Ralph Recto, and Sen. Manuel Villar Jr.) is almost close to that of SWS and Pulse Asia.

The others within the Magic 12 are Sen. Panfilo Lacson, Sen. Joker Arroyo, Sen. Luisa (Loi) Estrada, presidential chief of staff Mike Defensor, Sen. Edgardo Angara, former Sen. Tessie Aquino-Oreta, MMDA Chairman Bayani Fernando.

This is where Proberz survey results differ markedly with the list of the two established survey groups.

In SWS, Tesie Aquino-Oreta is off the top 30. So is Fernando. Mike Defensor is the best performing among Gloria Arroyo’s men but he is not in the top 12.

The rest competing in the top 20 according to Proberz are former Sen. Gregorio (Gringo) Honasan, Rep. Francis Escudero, former Sen. John Osmeña, broadcaster Korina Sanchez, Bro. Mike Velarde, San Juan Mayor JV Ejercito-Estrada, Executive Secretary Eduardo Ermita, Press Secretary Ignacio Bunye, Manila Mayor Lito Atienza, Rep. Alan Peter Cayetano, broadcaster Ricardo “Dong” Puno, Environment Secretary Angelo Reyes, Rep. Benigno “Noynoy” Aquino, former Sen. Francisco “Kit” Tatad, and broadcaster Mike Enriquez.

Most surprising is Rep. Alan Peter Cayetano, who is within the top 12 in both SWS and Pulse Asia, is No. 18 in Proberz’ list.

This is Proberz’ analysis: “What may come as a surprise are the ratings generated by Rep. Francis Escudero and Rep. Allan Peter Cayetano. This is simply a case in which exposure does not necessarily translate to awareness and for that matter a probability of victory in the senatorial race.

“While there is no doubt that both have not passed up the chance to be seen on television, heard on radio and quoted in print interviews, these two congressmen suffer from an indistinguishable identity in which both, as a result of their having stayed too long in the Lower House, have been stereotyped as congressmen and the public particularly the respondents who were interviewed during the survey of The Center (Proberz) find it hard to identify these two congressmen as senators.

“The case of Senate President Manny Villar is different. Villar was remembered as the Speaker of the Lower House who sent the impeachment complaint to the Senate. Not only did he take a leap of faith but the timing of then Speaker Villar in crossing over to the side of those protesting against the administration of then President Erap Estrada was just perfect and Villar used this advantage to the hilt.

“The Filipino public after all are still hero worshippers and Villar just happened to be at the scene at the right time. While it may also be true that Representatives Escudero and Cayetano have become favorite news sources by the media based in Metro Manila, it does not necessarily mean that such exposure can generate interest in the countryside where the people have their own preferences as to the kind of news medium that are watched, listened to or read and or the news personalities that they listen to. This means that the larger public in the countryside are inclined to favor more their own vernacular media than the national media.”

Proberz made mention in its analysis Aquilino “Koko” Pimentel III, son of Sen. Aquilino “Nene” Pimentel and Rep. Benigno Noynoy Aquino.

In SWS and Pulse Asia’s list, Koko Pimentel rates high while in Proberz list he is number 30. Noynoy, who is no. 20 in Proberz, is always ahead of his aunt in SWS and Pulse Asia.

Proberz said, “What also has surprised many political observers are the rather high ratings given (by other survey groups) to lawyer Aquilino Pimentel III. It is inconceivable that a neophyte political aspirant in the national scene regardless of whether he is a namesake of another public figure would rate higher than even the established political leaders. The same is true with Rep. Benigno Noynoy Aquino who is being bandied around as a ‘sure winner’ by some groups within the Opposition but the survey made by The Center will show that these assumptions have no basis at all.”

Nothing is sacred in these surveys. But there’s no harm in taking note of it..

What should surprise many is Mike Defensor’s name landing in 9th place. Previous surveys from other groups also listed him among the top 12. I hope some of you especially those who are keen in political affairs could share you opinion and help give the answer to my question.

  2. hawaiianguy hawaiianguy

A clue to the results is gleaned from the sponsor(s) of the survey, also the credibility of the survey organizer matters. I still believe in the reliability of SWS, and partly Pulse, but I have no idea about this third group because it is relatively unknown and unpublished. Mike Defensor’s “winnability” in Proberz’s is surprising. Maybe one should start from there.

  3. Mike Uliling Mike Uliling

I wouldn’t be surprised if in the coming future before the May election, more from the administration’s side will be included in the top 12 and more opposition will be out of the winning circle except for Villar, Mukhang paangilinan and Joker Arroyo. I think at this early time, they are already trying to condition the mind of the people on who’s gonna land the top 12 while they are also setting up the cheating machines at the same time. So people of the Philippines, watch out!!!

  4. The survey only shows that majority of Filipinos are not politicall matured inasmuch as majority cannot even read and write with a lot of them not even being able to enter school. So, if they are left with no choose but these rotten eggs, who do you think should be blamed?

    Kawawang bansa!

  5. mandirigma mandirigma

This early, there are ads showing Sharon Cuneta and Kiko Pangilina, Vilma Santos and Ralph Recto. That explains why despite their past association with Arroyo, the two still land among the top. If there’s no rampant cheating, the opposition will get most numbers. And that’s the reason why there’s an attempt to push a second People’s Initiative.

It’s just a survey that’s why The Other Survey. In days to come, maraming surveyors na lalabas, kanya-kanya nang concept of the survey, there will be different results.

Some of the surveys are based on visibility that’s why Mike Defensor who is always in the news, whether it’s good or bad for him, the public perception is, may ibubuga rin itong batang ito kahit makulit at pasaway.

But whatever it is, my fearless forecast is GMA candidates will have difficulty in landing in the top 12 come election time. Even the no read no write knows the kapalpakan of the administratioin and they are really itching for the May 7 elections. This is their remaining chance to be heard.

I have the chance to mingle with all kinds of people in the rural areas, in the streets, in the palengkes in Metro Manila, the squatters and the religious. They are well-informed as ever. The newspapers, the radio and television and everybody is texting. And GMA people knows this that’s why they are hell-bent in pushing for the cha-cha to avoid their slaughter in the coming elections.

    Have faith in the Filipinos.

A survey is useful guide for senatorial candidates to work harder at grassroots level. It does not necessarily mean a sure victory at the polls. Abalos Comelec’s Dagdag-Bawas scheme is still intact. Malacanang‘s dirty works operatives may be targeting to minimize total 12-0 shut-out. Senators Manuel Villar, Francis Pangilinan, Ralph Recto, Joker Arroyo and Edgardo Angara are considered administration candidates. They have questionable loyalty. Based on surveys these senators are in the top 12 possible winners. In this case, Gloria Arroyo has five winning candidates in place masquerading as an opposition. Anyways, who are the real oppositionists? I’m confused like a baby.

  8. joeseg joeseg

But what’s focused in the Other Survey is only for senators. The real political battle is in the locals. Candidate for Congressman, Governor, Board Members, Mayors and Sangguniang Bayan member have already their tentative line-up and first week of January 2007, it will be finalized.

In my own survey, incumbents among the local officials who went for People’s Initiative, con-ass and chacha are on the defensive. They’ve got a lot explaining to do to their constituents on:

    1. Why in every meeting called in the municipio or barangay, they were asked to sign in the attendance sheet. They realized now that those were the signatures gathered for PI without explaining what’s all about.

    2. How much local funds they spent to campaign for the People’s Initiative?

    3. Where is the money Malacanang doled out to the local officials in every time they are called for a national conference purposely to hear GMA proudly boast that the PI leading to cha-cha will be the cure-it-all on what ails our country?

    4. The concerned local officials will be asked why all of a sudden, they changed party affiliation and now identified with the the administration?

Questions will be also asked from some senatoriables, who were with Joseph Estrada before, roundly criticized FPJ in 2004 and cavorted with GMA. Now that the goings is rough in riding with GMA, they aligned themselves with the opposition. We will know how our people vote and it could be very interesting. Let’s watch.

Lets have faith in the Filipinos, my friends.

Who are the real oppositionists? Good question. Some claim to be with the opposition but are actually with Arroyo. To me, the tested true oppositionists are Pimentel, the Estrada mother and son, Lacson, Serge Osmena and maybe Alfredo Lim. Sina Biazon at Gordon, duda pa rin ako. Even Villar is unpredictable.

5-6. Senator Manuel Villar Jr. and Senator Panfilo Lacson

7-8. Senator Joker Arroyo and Sen. Luisa (Loi) Estrada.

    9. Presidential Chief of Staff Mike Defensor.

NOT ONE MINUTE IN A PUBLIC OFFICE.

conditionalities for toppling a corrupt government.

abangan ang kasunod. WALA PA RIN AKONG IBOBOTO.
SA BANDANG HULI SASABIHN KO ANG MGA PANGALAN NG GUSTONG MAPUNTA SA SENADO.

I do not have a problem with surveys coming out with wide disparities in their results. It more or less provides a picture of who the real popular candidates are, diluted of course with those personalities whom the survey sponsor want(at the very least, hoped) to be included in the winnables list.

I don’t believe, though, that surveys are “pure”. I’m sure the survey company analysts would interpret grey areas always in favor of the sponsor’s interests and therefore, the final results should be perceived with the same caveat.

The real winnables, to me, would be those who commonly figure in the top 18 positions, whether in those sponsored by the administration (padded) and those sponsored by the opposition (shaved).

In both cases, Mike Defensor seems to be the only hardcore pro-Gloria candidate who may make the cut, that is enough consolation for me. You must understand that there’s still a considerable number of people who suck pus from Arroyo’s breasts but they can hardly agree among themselves who to vote for. Seems rational, doesn’t it?

The spinmeisters of the Enchanted Squatter may take Mike D.’s good showing as a ray of hope and build from there. To me, it’s a sure sign of defeat.

Is there a back door negotiation going on? No one can dispute the charisma and influence of this person.

The neutrality of election watchdog NAMFREL is questionable. Jose Concepcion and Guillermo Luz had played partisan politics in the last presidential election. NAMFREL deliberately delayed the canvassing of FPJ stronghold areas and aborted its quick count at about 80% precincts votes. It also canvassed tampered election returns. NAMFREL is an extension of Makati Business Club (MBC) to protect their interests. MBC supported Gloria Arroyo in the last 2004 fraudulent-tainted election.

How could Namfrel be a credible volunteer group when the ones leading it were the same persons leading the business group who were identified with certain politicians. Namfrel conditioned the minds of the people into thinking that Cory won and Marcos cheated. That was what they also tried to do with Arroyo but didn’t do as hard since Arroyo’s cheating was more bold and rampant.

Different survey outfits have different lists and different numbers of senatorial aspirants. These differences, not considering the sampling methods used, are enough to produce differing results.

Despite all the “negatives”, I still have the maverick senator Joker, and the tireless senator Nene on my list.

Robert V. Maich, Bob, certainly has made it clear why he will not vote for senatoriables he listed down. My observation is not one among the top 12 from Proberz survey is in his list. I’m eager to wait who got his yes vote.

I will declare my pick in due time and expect many will soon have theirs.

But first, let it be known that I’m a register voter in my hometown, have voted in every election, bought my cedula and paid my taxes in my town, presently residing in the Philippines and not holding any dual citizenship.

I’m not asking others to declare the same statement. It’s just my own in order for others to form their own assessment on who and why they merited our selections.

That survey will dramatically change once money will start pouring , movie personalities start appearing in the stages. This was my experience as a little boy growing-up until I left my country. Voters will not listen to there platform agenda. They like entertainment. I still had that vivid memory when Ferdinand Marcos the senate president (nationalist party) run against the incumbent Macapagal (liberal party).. On Marcos meeting de avanche in our town the people are not listening to him .They are watching his biopic Iginuhit ng Tadhana. Helicopter dropping Marcos samples ballot everyday. Macapagal was beaten because he was a poor man from Lubao. Although ,he was an incumbent he was beaten badly. No movies, no entertainment, no free candies and free pack of elcid cigarettes from him .Marcos has all of those give-away .His financier is Fernando Lopez.

This was Gloria’s experience of defeat she’d witness to his old man. Mike Defensor will be 0n top 5 because Gloria will pour him with golds.Angelo Reyes will not make it among Gloria’s bet .He need cosmetic surgery from his past .Koko Pimentel,Lacson,Escudero, are my bet on the opposition. In the congress it’s a pipe dreams if the opposition can muster the numbers, they may even lost some.Gloria will pampers all her candidates from senate to congress.Voters in the provinces will forget the cha-cha,Garci,Jose Pidal and Bolante.Once they’ll hear the sound of Boom-Tarat-Tarat and Para sa iyo ang laban ko the game is over without Garci’s Midas touch.

Other personal choices not in the surveys: Randy David, Eggie Apostol, Cheche Lazaro, and maybe Ramon Magsaysay Jr.

Those in the list whom I’ll most probably vote for (as of now, anyway): Legarda, Villar, Cayetano, and maybe Joker Arroyo and Escudero.

The Batasan 5 has no money to launch a nationwide campaign unless they have rich patrons to finance their political campaign. Omnibus Election Code limits each candidate should spend about P1.50 per voter multiplied by 49 million registered voters (Comelec 2007 projection) = P73.5 M . At least each senatorial candidate must have P100 M to spend. How much the annual income for a senator? Rep. Satur Ocampo can retire in luxury with 100 million pesos. In 1987 national election the so-called Magnificent 7 left-wing senatorial candidates (Partido ng Bayan) lost miserably due to lack of campaign funds. A stand for ideology is not enough to win an election. Walang pera talo!

NOT ONE MINUTE IN A PUBLIC OFFICE.

To be party leader, thereby becoming a PM when your party won the most seat, you have to win the party leadership as per process of election by the party. Qualifications only that you are 18 years (qujalified to vote) old and a Canadian Citizen, but to win the leadership you have to be at least ‘somebody’ to convince the membership that you can carry the party to Victory, not necessarily a fluent bilingual, but a working knowlege of both languages. English and French are the two official languages of Canada. Actually everything here is dual, if you look at label and signage of all products and govt. documents and records are available and should always be in both languages. magastos.. For Messr. Dion, his mother is French Citizen by birth, thereby giving him a right to French Citizenship and he carried both citizenships. That is not an issue here, since Canada allows multiple citizenships and only consider one class of citizen for her own. It is only an issue to the voters, if they want to vote for the Leader’s party whose allegiance maybe divided. Our Governor General has to renounce her French Citizenship after it has become an issue of loyalty, she didn’t have to, but I think it is for the sake of Unity and to settle the issue. I hope Stephane Dion will follow suit when he becomes PM.

    BOB,

KUNG HINDI SI GLORIA ANG TINUTUKOY MO, SINO SIYA NA PRESIDENTE SANA SIYA NGAYON?

Sa aking palagay, under the present situation, ang pinaka una sa listhan na maging presidente after Gloria is Noli de Castro being the sitting vice president.

It’s my perception during that crucial period.

I think you are wrong, if the 2004 elections is our basis of election complexity. Na simplify na ni Gloria. election here is about summary and consolidation of election returns. Nobody noticed that guns, goons and gold are already obsolete, passe’. hindi na kasing bloody ng mga last elections.

Election returns, ballot boxes meron ba noon? In terms of positions, dalawa lang House chair and Senate chair of Canvassing ang kailangan.

The 3 G’s of old were not employed only in Gloria’s case. The local politics was very much the same in 2004 as it was in the past decades and as it is today. Look at Chito Bersamin.

Gloria simply knew that the old guns, goons and gold was not enough to steal the votes from the very popular actor.

She formulated her own 3 G’s: Generals, Gambling Lords and Garci.

Of course, we know what happened next, she overindulged in more 3 G’s: Greed, Guile, and Graft.

Kaya mukhang may nambuwag.

  73. joeseg joeseg

Guys, let’s start the fun of naming our candidates. Ellen’s Blog survey.

Inspite of my earlier fearless forecast that senatoriables identified with GMA will have difficulty landing in the magic 12, I come up with the possible senatorial candidates I would like to vote, including two GMA men.

But first, I will reiterate that I am a Filipino citizen, a qualified register voter in my hometown, religiously paying my cedula and taxes and have voted in every election since 1986. I am including this rejoinder for my own purpose.

Here my 12 possible senatorial candidates:

    1. Loren Legarda (top notch senator)
    2. Panfilo Lacson (articulate, with balls)
    3. Manny Villar (Speaker of the House, Senate President)
    4. Joker Arroyo (articulate and legally minded)
    5. Francis Escudero (youthful and articulate)
    6. Teddy Casino (activist, youthful and articulate)
    7. Dik Dilangalen (articulate, we must have a Muslim Senator)
    8. Mike Defensor (youthful and articulate. GMA nino bonito)
    9. Bayani Fernando (outstanding local chief executive)
    10. Mike Velarde (let him practice what he preached)
    11. Eddie Villanueva (let him practice what he preached)
    12. Allan Paguia (his legal mind is a welcome addition)

My only criteria: Who can speak out on issues, whether pros or cons. Hindi magbubutas ng bangko sa senado.

My selection is a combination and youth, experience and capacity to make things going in their own way and translate it to the Senate as a LAWMAKING BODY. Admittedly, they are not all winners but it is how I think should compose the new batch of senators, if there will be an election. I’m not persuaded of partisan politics although I’m more inclined to go with those not cavorting with GMA. Let’s be kind to some animals.

So, I’m including Mike Defensor. My perception is he’ll make a better senator compared to Lito Lapid & Bong Revilla. Bayani Fernando is full of bright and innovative ideas.

  74. joeseg joeseg

I earlier posted my choices for the 12 slots. Here naman why I didn’t include the following:

    1. Eduardo Angara – sure winner but his flip-flopping is a turn-off.
    2. Tito Sotto – a sure winner but I rather he give way to others. His 12 years in the Senate stint is enough.
    3. Kiko Pangilinan – a probable winner. But he was NOTED for being naughty to FPJ. Just be alalay to Sharon.
    4. Ralph Recto –a probable winner. He’s a balimbing. A soap opera with Vilma will be highly rated.
    5. Loi Ejercito or JVE Estrada – nandoon pa si Jinggoy, isa-isa lang.
    9. Tessie Aquino Oreta & Noynoy Aquino – the wit and charm of Ninoy not transferable
    10. Imee Marcos – doon na lang siya sa Ilocos Norte as Governor after Bongbong.
    11. Kit Tatad and John Osmena – their better days are over.
    12. Gringo Honasan – Trillanes could be more exciting.
    13. Satur Ocampo – age matters and his being left leaning is a turn-off.
    14. Ricardo Puno – there’s a puno in Supreme court, there’s a puno with GMA, punong puno na.
    15. Bunye, Ermita, Angelo Reyes – sorry guys. You happened to be among GMA minions.
    16. Lito Atienza – splendid job in Manila. He’s better off as MMDA Chairman after Bayani F.
    17. Ace Barbers – he maybe a number 1 barber but he extended manicuring the fingers of GMA.
    18. Prosperos Pichay & Nograles – Merry Christmas and 2 Propero less new year!
    19. Villafuerte, Lagman, Jaraula – ask yourself why you are not included in the latest survey.
    20. JDV – exfuture Prime Minister JDV – don’t ask yourself why your name is not included in any survey thus far. Bakit kaya, Kuya Eddie?
    21. Manny Pacquiao and Efren Bata Reyes – just be on the sidelines. You’re in for more winning plums.

sori, my fault, inulit ko pa yung salitang lumabas for emphasis pero lalo yatang lumabo. GANITO YUN:

Noong 2004, bomoto ako. laki ng pagasa ko, PERO lumabas (IT APPEARED, IT TURNED OUT) yung ibinoto ko (hindi si gloria) na magaling sana, may pinagaralan at may decision ay lumabas (IT APPEARED, IT TURNED OUT) na walang utang na loob, tila tumubo pa ng malaki, kung ginamit ang utak niya presidente sana siya ngayon. ANG SAMA LOOB KO. DISAPPOINTED AKO.

I dit not use lumabas as synonymous to nanalo.

  76. joeseg joeseg

Robert, it’s ok na.

Actually, I voted for him dahil sabi ko nga may balls. But that’s past. What’s this I read he’s having second thought of running as Manila mayor? It’s probably the reason why he’s not no. 2 to Loren Legarda in the Proberz survey.

So, I’m waiting for your choice for senators after listing down sa mga hindi mo iboboto.

  77. chi chi

    joeseg,

    1) Kiko Noted Cuneta Pangilinan
    2) Ralph Recto Santos
    3) Manny Villar Palundag-lundag
    4) Edgardo Angara (I don’t like taksil)

  79. joeseg joeseg

    Chi,

We almost got same attitude to your selected few. Katuwaan pa lang naman ito. In two weeks pa siguro ang opisyal na listahan. Sa Tribune today, ULAP is positioning again to push thru another PI. Everything is being done to avoid elections.

  80. mandirigma mandirigma

Don’t forget how he defended Arroyo in that Garci tape. Don’t forget how he protected Arroyo during her impeachment and the many other issues. His father is also Arroyo’s loyal defender in Congress. Her auntie Miriam Santiago is now Arroyo’s closest ally. Arroyo may be planting him in the opposition to sabotage the latter.

  81. pinoy_gising pinoy_gising

My senatoriable wish list. Some of the names here are relatively unknown and most probably wouldn’t run. Others I chose for somewhat pragmatic reasons (they seem like sure winners) but at the same time I don’t have major objections to them. Here goes:

    1. Oscar Orbos
    2. Randy David
    3. Eggie Apostol
    4. Cheche Lazaro
    5. Ramon Magsaysay Jr.
    6. Loren Legarda
    7. Rodolfo Biazon
    8. Raul Pangalangan
    9. Harry Roque
    10. Nandy Pacheco
    11. Manny Villar
    12. Susan Roces (I’d prefer that she doesn’t run and just try to be a sort of uniting force for the opposition, but if she does run, I’ll probably vote for her)

I’m probably forgetting some notable names. I’ll revise the list pag naisip ko sila.

I would prefer they stay in the House, to give the opposition a better chance of having the numbers in 2007 to finally impeach GMA. I think the real battleground in May 2007 would be in the House of Representatives.

  82. Ito pa ang isang ka-idiot-an ni Great Switik. “Gloria eyes Australia as US security replacement,” wrote Tribune!

If the Americans can be racist, so do Australians! Doesn’t she know that the discrimination against Asians in Australia is no different is no different from discrimination against Afro-Americans? So, why is this idiot now asking the Australians to take care of the problem of security of the Philippines? And from what?

Inutil talaga ang ungas na ito ano? Why? Are Filipinos not good enough to take care of their own security despite the presence of a lot of Chinese, who are even lording over the Filipinos? If this is not insulting Filipino soldiers just because they cannot remove a crook like her, what is?

‘Tado talaga naman! PATALSIKIN NA, NOW NA!

  83. Mrivera Mrivera

    From Wikipedia:

    DINGO

The dingo (plural dingoes or dingos), Canis lupus dingo, is a type of wild dog, probably descended from the Indian Wolf (Canis lupus pallipes). It is commonly described as an Australian wild dog, but is not restricted to Australia, nor did it originate there. Modern dingoes are found throughout Southeast Asia, mostly in small pockets of remaining natural forest, and in mainland Australia, particularly in the north. They have features in common with both wolves and modern dogs, and are regarded as more or less unchanged descendants of an early ancestor of modern dogs. The name dingo comes from the language of the Eora Aboriginal people, who were the original inhabitants of the Sydney area. Another name for the dingo is warrigal.

    chi,

5 at 6.

Simula lang ‘yan, the rest is history.

    ****

    Nelbar and Zensennai,

at the rate that he is going, pagsamahin mo ang pagiging trapo ni Joe de V. at Ernie Maceda, PEANUTS yan kay Mike D, yikesss..

  90. Chabeli Chabeli

    Chi,
Oo nga, we did that before ! Let me start by giving a list of those, according to my informant, who are running as Senators under Gloria’s ticket. These people SHOULD NOT BE VOTED INTO OFFICE as we already know that they will protect Gloria’s staying power. These dying-to-be-Senators are NOT FOR THE PEOPLE AND COUNTRY:

    1. Andaya, Rolando
    2. Atienza, Lito
    3. Defensor, Mike
    4. Durano, Ace
    5. Enriquez, Mike (GMA-7 broadcaster)
    6. Fernando, Bayani
    7. Manzano, Edu
    8. Nograles, Propero
    9. Pichay, Prospero
    10. Reyes, Angie
    11. Teodoro, Gilbert
    12. Zubiri, Miguel

According to my informant, the list has many revisions. Don’t know what version I have.

  91. chi chi

    Excellent list, Chabeli.

Huwag iboboto ang nasa listahan! I’ll add these names to my list. thanks.

  92. Chabeli Chabeli

On the other hand, I also have a list of Senatoriables whom I term as those with “QUESTIONABLE INTREGRITY”. I also catgegorize them as “dying-to-be-Senators” because I have not seen them really rise to the occassion of defending the PEOPLE AND our COUNTRY. In most cases, they are only taking care of themselves, not to mention, enriching themselves. I have placed comments below their names:

    1. Tito Sotto
-I remember he was cuddling a drug lord.
    2. Kiko Pangilinan
-or “Mr. Noted” who got us into this mess & that’s how we got Gloria !
    3. Ralph Recto
-He said on ANC he was not pro or anti Gloria. He’s loyal to himself then !
    4. Ed Angara
-He sold himself to Gloria after he won in 2004 !
    5. Tessie Oreta
-Senate does not NEED a dancing queen !
    6. Kit Tatad
-He was a part of the Marcos Martial Law sh*t !
    7. Greg Honasan
-He ran away with the money of RAM !
    8. Mike Velarde
-He has too many Real Estate deals with government.
    9. Imee Marcos
-Do we want the daughter of Ferdinand E. Marcos ?
    10. Korina Sanchez
-She has difficulty grasping “conflict of interest.”

  93. Chabeli Chabeli

    Possible DREAM TEAM for Senatoriables:

    1. Butch Abad
    2. Neri Acosta
    3. Noynoy Aquino
    4. Joker Arroyo
    5. Teddy Casiño
    6. Allan Peter Cayetano
    7. JV Ejercito
    8. Panfilo Lacson
    9. Oscar Orbos
    10. Harry Roque
    11. Dinky Soliman
    12. Garry Teves

  94. joeseg joeseg

Chabeli, may revisions pa ngang ginagawa because Malacanang is sitll considering the following:

    1. Bunye, Ermita, Saludo, Raul and Norberto Gonzales, Jesli Lapus, Atty. Makalintal, Ace Barbers, Villafuerte, Lagman, Jaraula and Rodante Marcolleta.

Dito nila isasama si Garcillano dahil they could win daw without cheating.

No comment si Manny Pacquiao.

  95. chi chi

    joeseg,

  96. chi chi

    Chabeli,

I’ll add Trillanes to my list of senatoriables.
Your 10 Dying to be Senators is OK with me, except Tessie Oreta. I like her accomplishments in the area of education when she was a senator.

  97. apoy apoy

Solid 12-0..I still wish and hope for that. Any pro GMA to win is a disaster. One rotten apple spoils the whole basket..

  98. nelbar nelbar

The US and Australia are close allies. But why should she or our country side with anyone? A country must know how to protect itself. Look at Japan after the war; it has progressed to what it is today. Vietnam too has improved lately. Pilipinas lang ang palaging kulelat.
