Team GMA senatorial candidate says he admits that Gloria is a cheat. And yet he is with her. And he is asking Filipinos to vote for him!

It sounds crass but senatorial candidate Edgardo Angara says it is true.
Angara said he believed his chances of winning in the May 14 elections had been enhanced by his decision to run under the administration ticket because this was an assurance that his votes would be “counted.”
In an interview with Philippine Daily Inquirer editors Thursday night, Angara related how he was ribbed by his colleagues in the judicial and academic circles about his joining Malacañang’s Team Unity slate.
“They said, ‘Thank God, you will not be cheated.’ It’s quite cynical but realistic,” said Angara.
By siding with the administration, Angara said, “you’ll be sure your votes will be counted.”
Angara claimed to have prodded show biz icon Fernando Poe Jr. to lead the opposition in the 2004 presidential election. Poe died in December that year amid accusations by his political allies that President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo had cheated massively to prevent his victory.
Angara apparently continues to believe that Poe was robbed of victory at the polls. He was reported to have said last week that the late movie king would have been the country’s president today had he not been cheated.
Bonding with former foes
Asked by the Inquirer if he and fellow former oppositionists ex-Senators Vicente Sotto III and Tessie Aquino-Oreta now formally recognized the legitimacy of Ms Arroyo’s term, Angara said there was no need to make a formal declaration.
Although ostracized by his peers in the opposition for his switchover, Angara — who felt bad his name was never considered when the opposition drafted its ticket — appeared to have found a new home in the shadow of Malacañang. As Team Unity members, he, Sotto and Oreta are now bonding with former foes.
No one votes straight
Asked if he would vote straight Team Unity in the May 14 polls, Angara said: “Please don’t ask me that.”
He noted that Filipinos had historically voted for a mixed slate in senatorial elections.
Aside from being assured that his votes would be counted, Angara said the administration’s political machinery, particularly its control of the local government network, was another advantage for a candidate running with the ruling party.
‘She brings in the goods’
“Based on surveys, the hardcore opposition is only 20 percent, which is the same as the administration (loyalists). They will wash in the end and what will count is the local organization,” said Angara. “Gloria can bring out the mayors and governors. When she goes, she brings … thousands of sacks of goodies, of rice, whatever.”
On his own, as head of the Laban ng Demokratikong Pilipino political party, Angara said he could count not only on the LDP machinery for base support but also on parallel organizations of University of the Philippines alumni, lawyers and teachers.
True colors revealed. Filipinos must not be fooled again and again and again.

Angara wants “guaranteed” votes! He must know something we do not know! The cheating machine may have been upgraded to a higher voltage! This is why all these marginal candidates are joining the Tiyanak. Shallow!

Tongue T, I really would like to be optimistic that we will have a cleaner election come May. But with the early signs of the Comelec’s and administration’s dirty moves such as: printing 4 million extra ballots, questioning Alan Cayetano’s qualification and fielding in an unknown candidate with the same last name, the questionable registration of flying voters all over the country, proliferation of full swing jueteng operations in some parts of the country, still in place cheating operators (Abalos, Garci and his likes, the two hemmorhoids-Assperon and Ebdame and the local versions of these cheats), and now the lack of campaign funds for the opposition, my hopes for a clean election is fading fast. A Divine Intervention is much needed! We need to pray so hard to enlighten these cheats to stop their evil deeds for the sake of their children and the rest of their unborn sibblings. Maybe the Holy Spirit will work on them before it is too late!

That was my hope, too. But this government is totally incorrigible. Much less, irreformable. Aside from paying lip-service, which craft the Midget has perfected, absolutely nothing has been done to straighten out the kinks before Mayday. Even the test run of the new counting machines have been scrapped. The well-oiled cheating machine is in place, what with the perpetrators from 2004 even rewarded with promotions.
Yeah your hope’s gone, cuz the cheating WILL be brazen as ever, since the Masterminds, who used to operate in the Back Office are now sitting in the frontlines – in DND and DILG, which gives me this feeling the Bitch fears the outcome of the upcoming polls even more than it did in 2004.
Maybe the expat bloggers can write their country’s invited observers to stay on until the canvass has been finalized, not just as after the voting takes place. Not even just in the counting. They can only rest when the final tally corresponds to that which they actually saw in the counting. Then and only then can they declare if the elections where honest or not. Not like 2004 when they prematurely declared that the polls were clean the moment the precincts were closed.
The cheating took place much after.
Let’s not lose hope. We do what we are supposed to do which is to defend truth and justice. Let God take care of the rest.
The important thing is we do our part.
Since we have a local election, the local candidates will definitely watch everything in the polling places. That is just my only hope. Also, every sector seem to be more aware of what is bound to happen so they are more proactive.

Sinabi mo pa, Ellen. That’s why it is important that we abide by God’s rules ourselves that He may listen to our prayers. Otherwise, it is a useless exercise, for it is in fact a symbiotic relationship we should have with Our Heavenly Father.
My favorite story in fact was how Abraham tried to ask for God’s mercy for the twin cities of Sodom and Gomorrah which the Philippines is more like at the moment because of the graft and corruption propagated and magnified by the liar and the cheat calling herself “president” and making sure everybody do the same by bribing them.
There are ample warnings in the Scriptures likewise about voting for fornicators, robbers, thieves, corruptors, etc. to position, and God leaving the people for allowing them to prevail over them.

Ate Chiz, kung baga sa Ingles ay “let’s utilize his statement against GMA”. Magandang campaign issue iyan.
Ang dapat kong sinulat ay “let’s capitalize…” hindi “utilize”. Pasensiya na talagang mahina ako sa Ingles. Pero kung “capitalize” ang tamang salita, di dapat puro capital ang letra ko? Dapat ay “LET’S CAPITALIZE HIS STATEMENT…”

Tapos tatawagin namin ang aming movement since ang purpose ay makagawa kami ng paraang huwag makadaya si Pandak at IpDye na “Movement for Clean Election for/of/by Filipinos in Japan.” ‘Taragis mahaba pero walang magagawa!

Noong dekada 60 at 70, ang tawag sa Jeep ay Gorio’s Jeep (Jeep ni Chiquito). Noong 1990s ay Jeep ni Erap. Ngayon naman ay PJ (Pidal’s Jeep). Ang mga kawawang mahihirap na mamamayan ang nakasakay sa jeep ni Pidal. Nagbabayad na nga ng husto, kapahamakan at disgrasya pa ang inaabot nila.
Namputsangna itong si Angara. Siya ang namuno noon sa kampanya ni FPJ, tapos ngayon sasabihin niyang hindi siya sigurado kung talagang nandaya si tiyanak. Mabuti pa si Sotto diniin niya na hindi siya nagbabago ng kanyang posisyon at paniniwala. Si Sotto ay puwede pang palagpasin pero si Angara dapat ibasura natin sa halalan na ito.

Sen. Edgardo Angara is not sure now if President Arroyo cheated his candidate – the late Fernando Poe Jr. – in the May 2004 presidential election.
In an interview with dzMM’s Anthony Taberna, Angara, who, together with former Sen. Vicente Sotto III, convinced Poe to run against Mrs. Arroyo, deflected questions on accusations of cheating that he, Sotto and other Poe supporters had leveled against the President, who denies she robbed Poe of victory.
“Don’t ask me that question. The (cheating) issue has not been resolved,” he said.
Angara and Sotto convinced FPJ (RIP) to run for President in 2004, tapos inutakan nila at ginoyo sa campaign funds. Iyong blind item nuon sa isang tabloid na sinasabing isang napakalaking kaha-de-yero ang iniakyat ng ilang tao para dalhin sa loob ng condominium ng isang politiko, ay posibleng kay Angara, para paglagyan ng pondo ng kanyang nakulimbat sa campaign funds ni FPJ. No wonder, na-allergic si Ate Susan at ayaw maging politiko.

Excerpts: ILOILO CITY, Philippines — Crossing party lines, city mayors have launched a campaign to boycott reelectionist Senators Edgardo Angara, Joker Arroyo and Ralph Recto for voting to waive the income requirement for cityhood to allow the conversion of some towns into cities.
Iloilo City Mayor Jerry Treñas, League of Cities of the Philippines (LCP) president, said the city mayors will urge their constituents not to vote for the three senators, who are running under the administration’s TEAM (Together Everyone Achieves More) Unity.
Treñas and LCP secretary general Mayor Mel Senen Sarmiento of Calbayog City in Samar said the list of the re-electionist senators they will reject will be finalized on Monday during the league’s board meeting.
In a resolution passed by the LCP national executive board on February 8, the mayors asked President Macapagal-Arroyo to veto at least 15 cityhood bills passed on third and final reading by the Senate this month.
The LCP will also come out with paid advertisements and other means to campaign against these senators. Inquirer.net
