Ariel Querubin at Lt. Col. Custodio Parcon.

Renato Miranda, Brig. Gen. Danny Lim, Col. Orlando de Leon, Lt.Col. Armando Bañez, Lt. Col. Archie Segumalian, Major. Jason Aquino at marami pa.

    Yuck!

  2. The pushing and shoving of Gen. Miranda happened when we were trying to interview him when he was about to board their van after the trial. The military escorts forbid media to talk to the detained officers. But we in media do not feel bound by those prohibition. Our job is to get a direct statement from the subject and we do it the best way we can.

While Gen. Miranda was heavily escorted (They all are heavily escorted) to the van, Ces Drilon of ABS-CBN and her crew were able to slip through the human chain that the military escorts formed. We all followed and they panicked. What they did was push Gen. Miranda to board the van. Miranda stopped and talked to us.

Christine Avendaño and I couldn’t push our way through the TV crew and other reporters around Gen. Miranda. We saw Col. Archie Segumalian coming and it was he that we interviewed.

We did not succeed with Gen. Danny Lim because the van was parked away from us and the guarding was tight.

I’ll try to retrieve a picture that shows how we media are prevented from talking to the detained officers.

  3. In the case of Capt. Dante Langkit, we were trying to talk to him during the more than one-hour break (while the court martial panel was trying to decide whether to release the PTI or not) but the guard was very strict. They also don’t want to put their guards in a risky situation. Kawawa rin ang guards if they are see being lax towards the officer they are guarding.

We are interested in Capt. Langkit because he has been in solitary confinement under the AFP Intelligence Unit. Pinahirapan talaga. He has lost 50 lbs. Sometimes he was given only one meal a day. In fact in the January hearing, he was brought to Tanay without being given breakfast.

Taking of pictures inside the courtroom are not allowed. That’s why TV and photographers are scrambling for a good shot before and after the hearing.

What we did with Capt. Langkit, while he and his brother Danzel were bidding goodbye, we called out their names to stop for a while to give us a chance to take pictures. Pinagbigyan naman kami. It was the twin brother,Danzel, whom we interviewed later.

Sounded like those detained officers are in Nazi concentration camp or reminiscence of Japanese death March during WW2. Does any humane organization ever check on those officers to see if they’re being treated as human being, I wonder? Obviously, these officers are being mistreated by Dog Assperon and Pig Mutineer Gloria. It appeared that they don’t even have an access to the media or outside their prison. How about their families, are they allow to see them? Can the media do something about this or take it to international Red Cross. It seems to me these officers still have some rights left. There must be someone they can appeal to of how being treated. They’re still human being and they shouldn’t be treated as dogs.

    Ellen,
Inquirer today reported that Langkit apologized to Esperon. In a letter to his former boss, Langkit also asked Esperon to allow him to campaign in his province as he is also running for congress just his like class ’95 mistah, Sonny Trillanes.

Can you confirm this to be true?

  7. Tongue, yes, it’s also in Malaya. I’ve posted it below in an update on Langkit case. I think it’s just a courtesy to be allowed to pursue his candidacy. Capt. Langkit has remained steadfast to the cause. His lawyer, Vic Verdadero is also the lawyer of Gen. Danny Lim.

It has been awhile since those officers has been detained or captured. Yet, still no sign of quick resolution if those officers are guilty of the charges against them. Probably, we’ll never find out with the crooked judicial system, crooks running the system, and as long as Pig Gloria remain in Malacanang. Somehow, it ain’t fair, here’s illegitimate Gloria, mutineed, committed capital crimes against the Republic of the Philippines, lied, stole, killed, cheated, among others crimes against the people, and if anybody should be punished, undoubtedly, Pig Gloria would be the number candidate. This is beyond any human descency, it worsen each single day. I never wish anything bad to happen on anyone, but with this Pig Gloria, I just might make an exception. This got to stop, it must stop!

  9. TonGuE-tWisTeD TonGuE-tWisTeD

    Ellen,
Even the sanctity of the Medal of Valor has not been spared by this destructive midget and her wrecking crew. Remember her first awardee was Apeng Vidal-dal Quirol for his “gallant display of heroism” when during the people’s siege of Malcañang, he ordered snipers to shoot at the “armed enemies” – kids armed with stones, to be exact.

  10. Toney Cuevas Toney Cuevas

    Ellen:

Can you enlighten us, are those officers has any rights at all while being detained? I was just thinking also, actually what are their status? Are they being detained in jail or in their barracks, like an house arrest or they’re military prisoners behind bars with bread and water? Are they guilty until proven otherwise as in military. Just not sure. You would think that they’re still entitle to three meals a day and showers. And visitation priviledge?

If we’ve to comparison to that of crooked Joc Joc Bolante, I think Bolate got a better deal. Bolate’s human rights, I’m sure, are not being violated, he’s being provided three meals each day, clean sheets, a/c, clean hot and cold water and shower everyday. And this SOB Bolate is nothing but a common criminal. Why should SOB Bolate would want to leave his new found home, he got it made.

  11. You are so right, Tongue.

Speaking of medal of valor, if you look closely on the picture of “press freedom in Tanay”, the military officer in the background is Col. Bacarro. He is also a Medal of Valor awardee. Oh well, we make choices in life and he has made his choice.

  12. Toney, these officers have not been officially charged yet because the case is still in the preliminary investigation stage. Both in the Department of Justice and in the court martial (there are two parallel investigations).

In the court martial, the military had tried in the past three hearings to short cut the process and start the trial but the defense lawyers (who are really good) object to even taking the oath of the members of the court. As of now they have not taken their oath because the moment that is introduced at the start of the hearings, the lawyers (28 respondents. some have more than two lawyers. you can imagine how vigorous the objections during the hearing. Ang saya!)

Part of the preliminary investigation is to give the accused a copy of the basis of the charges and for them to respond to it. That’s what happened last Tuesday. With the order to release the PTI, the respondents have 15 days to reply.

Take time to read the PTI in my earlier post. The recommendation is to dismiss charges of mutiny for lack of basis. The charge is only for conduct unbecoming of an officer and a gentleman.

I’ll write about this more lengthily tomorrow.

  13. Re: “Are they being detained in jail or in their barracks, like an house arrest or they’re military prisoners behind bars with bread and water?”

They are behind bars. In barracks. In Tanay, visitors have to pass through four checkups to get to the officers. I was told conjugal visits are allowed every Sunday.

In Fort Bonifacio and in Fort San Felipe in cavite, they have their own small rooms each. But I was told by a relative who was allowed to accompany her husband inside his new living quarters last Tuesday that it’s dormitory type. No private rooms. All of them 24 in one room. The beds are bunk type.

The officers are not complaining about the spartan accommodations. They have been through worse living conditions and they are aware that other soldiers are in much worse situation in conflict zones now.

But what they cannot accept is the injustice. They have not been charged. They are not guilty of any crime. They have not done anything against the Filipino people.

As I said in the main article here, look at those who have committed the crime of thwarting the will of the people. You can start with Gloria Arroyo and Esperon.

  14. The purpose of Esperon (upon orders of Gloria) to bring them to faraway Tanay is to make them inaccessible to their support network and to media. To make them irrelevant. To break their spirit.

So far these men of honor are holding on. But it’s really difficult.

That’s the reason why I make it a point to attend the hearings. In my own small way, I could counter the effort to make them irrelevant. To bring their cause and plight to the public.

I’m thankful that there are people like you who care.

  16. Toney Cuevas Toney Cuevas

Thanks Ellen! We already know who mutineer Pig Gloria and her dog Assperon. If anybody should be serving jail time, it’s no doubt those two Pig and Dog. They deserve each other and you may throw in that other guy who think he’s above the law and want thing settled outside the court, where he does best at the dark of the night, since he got the 100 psg that does all his dirty work for that SOB.

  17. chi chi

Hindi sila mahatulan ng kasalanan dahil wala naman maliban sa “unbecoming of an officer and a gentleman” which does not deserve encarceration, bartolina and no meals!

Make them irrelevant? To break their spirit? P&&^%%$#@ Glueria at Assoperon, kahit itago pa nila sa timbukto ang mga may prinsipyong sundalong ito will not make a difference as to their relevance.

SOBs Tianak and Assoperon!

They are just being held to make the P*&&^^%$#a hindi hayop-hindi taong Glueria happy!

    Ms. Ellen,

Malaya reports that Malacanang insists that Davide can defend Philippine human right record of the Bansot’s government, but this in fact is already gross violation of some international agreement that the Philippines is supposed to be a signatory to. Prisoners/Detainees are supposed to be fed 3 meals a day unless there is a medical order for the prisoner/detainee to be on a special diet for health reason. Otherwise, it is a violation of human rights. Filipinos should protest loud and clear against these inhuman acts especially by this bogus regime.

Soldiers’ moto: Obey first, before you complain. I think that’s what they are doing following the directives in good faith.

  22. These brave men should have this for a motto: PERSEVERANCE IS GENIUS IN DISGUISE!!!

You bet, Ellen, it is refreshing and heartwarming to know that there are still a lot many soldiers not contaminated by the graft and corruption that spell Gloria M. Arroyo a.k.a. Mrs. Jose Miguel Pidal!!!

I promised not to say bad words for the sake of victory for the United Opposition, but just this once I would like to ask for indulgence, and may God forgive me—(copied from PV) Esperon supot! P¨******************na ‘nyo ni Gloria Tiyanak, et al!

Lt. Col. Ariel Querubin, Philippine Marine Corps

    MUSINGS

    Ronald Roy

    02/16/2007, Tribune

It was Mrs. Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo herself who pinned the Medal For Valor, more popularly known as Medal of Valor (MoV), on Lt. Col. Ariel Querubin of the Philippine Marine Corps. She was so proud of him, always addressing him “my hero” and, with a ring of fondness, called him by his first name every time they met. In fact, she never failed to abide by the tradition of saluting first a soldier if he was an MoV awardee. For your information, a soldier always salutes the President first, per force of law. The only exception is if the soldier is an MoV recipient, in which case the Commander-in-Chief is the first to salute, per force of tradition.

In the entire history of Philippine soldiery, Ariel Querubin became one of only a handful of MoV awardees. He officially received this recognition for acts of conspicuous courage, gallantry and intrepidity above and beyond the call of duty as Commanding Officer, Marine Battalion Landing Team-1, Philippine Marine Corps, Philippine Navy during a 24-hour firefight against an estimated 800 fully armed men belonging to the separatist Moro Islamic Liberation Front at Barangay Inudaran, Kauswagan, Lanao del Norte from March 18 to 19, 2000.

Tasked to capture the formidable MILF Camp John Mack (Abdullatef), Headquarters of the 303rd Brigade, 3rd Field Division of the MILF, commanded by the notorious Abdul Rahman Macapaar, alias Commander Bravo, Ariel Querubin spearheaded the 1st MBLT composed of 117 officers and men in this hazardous mission against the enemy, superior in numbers, with a familiarity with the terrain, and believed responsible for the spate of bombings in Central Mindanao and the siege of, and hostage-taking at, Kauswagan, Lanao del Norte. On or about 181815H March 2000, while en route to their objective, he and his men were subjected to heavy volume of fire by rebels from their well-entrenched dugouts, bunkers and trenches.

Unable to maneuver due to darkness and intense devastating fire from both heavy and light machine guns, B-40 rockets, mortar and snipers, he nevertheless ordered his men to hold the line and directed the Special Operations Squad to close in on the enemy camp and pinpoint its location to the Marines’ battalion artillery supporting flanks, and the V-300 and V-150 armored vehicles to dislodge the enemy from their heavily fortified bunkers.

Unmindful of his own safety, Ariel Querubin continuously moved from one forward position to another, thus drawing enemy fire to his own location, purposely to pinpoint enemy targets for their artillery support flanks. The battle, which had raged continuously until the following day, did not deter him from rallying his men in repulsing wave after wave of enemy reinforcements and unrelenting assaults in their attempt to encircle his unit.

Despite dwindling ammunition and increasing casualties on their side, Colonel Querubin never lost his aggressive spirit as he continued to move around while urging and inspiring his men, including the wounded, to continue holding their ground. Bunker to bunker, he personally led the assault until the enemy’s line of defense started to crumble. Under his inspiring leadership, his men fought ferociously, forcing the enemy’s last line of defense to collapse and sending them scampering in different directions, along with their dead and wounded, and leaving behind their vaunted rocket launchers and high-powered firearms, as well as documents of high intelligence value.

The capture of Camp John Mack resulted in the neutralization of the MILF’s most strategic staging area for operations and, more importantly, liberated the residents along the coastal municipalities of Lanao del Norte from the oppressive MILF revolutionary tax collection estimated at P38 million annually. By this gallant deed, Col. Ariel Querubin distinguished himself in combat in the finest tradition of Filipino soldiery.

The foregoing narration is based on the official files of the Armed Forces of the Philippines.

But then, times have changed. Mrs. Arroyo now views him as an “enemy of the State” because he has become a threat to her political and personal survival. She egotistically imagines herself as the personification of the State, even if she is but a speck, like a kutong lupa, of the body politic who rules with a purloined mandate. The reward system has been perverted, because rewards are now given to those who kowtow to the whims of the repressive tyrant, while those fully deserving of all the honors accorded by law for their bravery, gallantry and intrepidity, above and beyond the call of duty, are denied those honors.

Ariel Querubin is one such military rara avis who continues to languish in his undeserved confinement — he who almost perished for love of country with a bullet ripping through his pancreas, intestines and liver — and who, left for dead, most certainly would have been a goner if his left hand with a PMA bullring had not twinged in the morgue — he whose every request must await approval by high authority, such as for a priest or a medical specialist, the emergency’s nature notwithstanding — and he whose seven children often complain to their lovely mother, “Mommy, when will Daddy start coming home at least for breakfast? And why don’t some of our classmates want to play with us anymore?”

And the eyes of “Pong,” to whom Ariel is “Babes,” can only well with tears, not knowing when they can be one happy family again, and not knowing if her Babes will ever joyously see the dawn of freedom, for which he says he has been trained to offer his life. And the most degrading part of his story is, of course: To this day, his trial remains indefinitely suspended because, per records of the pre-trial investigation, the investigators refuse to change their finding, despite tremendous pressure, that there is no probable cause against Colonel Querubin and other co-accused. There are other detainees, MoV or not, with similar gut-wrenching stories. It is so unfair to all of them, their families and the country they love.

Five percent of the entire Armed Forces of the Philippines, i.e., from the lowest-ranked foot soldier to the Chief of Staff, are said to be under GMA’s evil money spell. The rest, out of fear, just can’t get organized to bring down her evil regime. In a real sense, therefore, the 93 percent of the AFP are under her voodoo spell, with the remaining 2 percent are fence-sitters. And yet, there seems to be nothing much to hope for, what with GMA’s dirty tricks already in full swing at the start of the campaign.

    ———————————————————-

#@$%$^&*%$#@!

I take off my hat for all of you. You remind of the the Cristeros in Mexico who fought for Christ the King. Instead of glorifying Calles, they glorified God and they were protected by the Virgin of Guadalupe.
Esperon, instead of glorifying God, he glorifies Gloria.
On the day of judgement you will suffer the pain of hell for glorifying a bougs president.

Allow me to tell you this.

Blind obedience will lead any soul to hell.

IBOTO ANG OPOSISYON!GO 11+0!

I think they have informed conscience why they followed orders, not because they are in prison, and blind obedience is not an issue here.

Here the latest statement from Drilon:
    Drilon: GO can’t replace Kiko
    “http://www.abs-cbnnews.com/storypage.aspx?StoryId=68497”

This is confusing and it shows that GO is control by Drilon-LP wing.

    Well, his statement:
“If they replace Kiko, that would be 13 for the Liberal Party and we will have to drop one,” he added.
    — he has a point but dapat GO should have 12-man senatorial slate.

I think the 12 slot will be free zone…so bahala na ang mga candidates mag endorse ng kanilang 12 slot…could be that Lacson will endorse Gringo or chiz will endorse Goma.

Noynoy said he will endorse KIKO…isa lang ang masasabi ko KIKO is VIP man babalik yan sa GO pagwala na siyang pera o kung yun ranking niya sa survey ay bumaba

    NAGOGOLOHAN NA AKO!!!

re: tony cuevas… “Does any humane organization ever check on those officers to see if they’re being treated as human being, I wonder?” my husband told me that they’ve been asking human rights to check their status..he said a few attempted to visit but failed to pass through the heavy bars, hindi nila ina-allow ang staff ng human rights na pumasok eh, di naman sila pwede mag disguise as relative of the respondents kasi it would be an illegal activity na.
since these topic has been brought up, i wanted to discribe and share my very own experience that not even my fingers is enough to sum up everything . as visitors, we have to pass through 3 heavy guards, checking up our things, kahit food kinakaykay nila, with body kapkap pa yan especialy for females( this one medyo naiintindihan ko kasi they were ordered daw to do so, ok lang un, peru ung cellphone namin na pinapaiwan sa guard kinakalikot pa nila, m ost of us nasira na ang mga cellphones, 2x nag sesend and all incoming calls and outgoing call automatic un nagdidivert na kahit ano gawin namin ayaw na matangal( well it just shows na sobrang paranoid na sila na to the point na invade privacy namin. WATER-its a big issue there, alam nyo ba na ang mga officers pa ang nag provide ng water tank and nag ayos para lang sa water needs nila? that even the guards on duty dun sila pa ang nakikinabang sa pinanghihirapan ng mga officers, so shame on the part of the AFP kasi dapat trbaho nila yan eh.one small issue is the light bulb sa mga conjugal rooms…almost every visit namin bumibili kami ng bulb ksi nga nawawala lagi, imposible naman na ang mga nakadetain ang kumukuha nun, my point is light bulb lang di nila maguardiahan? napakalaxitibo po. highlight of my revelation is the FOOD! every soldier have subsistence allowance( 60 php/day, ganun po kababa, sa tingin nyo ano ang kaya bilhin ng 60 3x meal?, but thats applicable to every soldiers) the detainees are utilizing the SA to sustain thier food, peru hinahainan lang sila ng sabi nga ng isang officer dun eh “gulay na binaboy”, kinukurakot daw ang pondo ng SA nila, tama ba naman un? pati ba naman yan kaliit ng halaga pagkakaintirisan pa? the said conjugal has only 4 rooms for the officers and 4 rooms for the enlisted personnel… so 8 rooms lang lahat!!! provided that there are 28 officers ( especially ngayon nandyan na ang marines) and 60+ EP!!! come to think of it, panu accomodate yan? alam nyo ba kahit nga may mga babies( that even a 6 months old baby of an officer hindi excempted dyan) kami we have to sometimes sleep on the floor outside just to accomodate the military heirarchy pag nandyan na ang mga seniors mag oovernight( or kahit over day lang), syempre we have to give in na maluwag sa loob namin kasi senior yan eh.few months ago there is a new barracks constructed beside the old barracks that was converted to conjugal, akala namin expand un to accomodate the families, peru hindi pala, mga guards ang nagpapakasarap dun… one night my heart broke into pieces when my 2yrs old son told me ” mommy ayaw na punta tanay, hirapan ako, pagod ako tanay” GOD!!! even a 2 yrs old can simply express and discribe what kind of “HELL” it is…
i wanted to speak out regarding what the spokes person of AFP said in his previous interview ” nag punta daw ang red cross dun” bullshit to him. pinapasok nga for a split second nad hangang dun lang sa may conjugal area. one of the officers dun, just recently, nag chill sa fever(complication sa toothache and tonsilitis) walang doctor, walang gamot!!! kami pa ang nag provide for him!!! tapos yan ang sinasabi nila in public na the detainees are perfectly well inside?that it is livable? honestly hindi po totoo yun.one scenario na gusto ko malaman ng taong bayan is ang case ng isang enlisted personnel na namatay ang mother nya, they requested na makauwi to attend the funeral kahit sa burial part man lang, monday morning(same date ng schedule ng burial rites) he got a verbal order na hindi daw granted ang request, so nagalit ngayon ang mga officers, they demanded a written order, when the written order arrived later that morning, it states that the said detainee can go attend his mothers burial later that afternon but with TWO as in dalawang bodyguard expenses paid by HIM…take note po sa mindanao ang libing!!! see? how inhumane they were? dyos ko panu naman kaya ma afford ng ordinaryong sundalo ang airfare, land fare and food expenses for the three of them going to mindanao??? a case of an officer, actually 2 of them… they were not granted po to attend sa delivery ng wife..kahit man lang sana posasan nila at maglagay ng sampung bodyguard basta payagan lang, peru a simple human right was denied po, ung isang officer nga ung baby and wife was in a 50/50 situation in V luna, the baby was even trnsfered to PCMC kasi sobrang delikado ang lagay…with all the written request po, esperon denied his right to be with his family in the midst of shortcoming.

ellen, kaibigan ko si parcs or col. custodio parcon. i used to send him text messages before they were arrested. but now i can no longer send my messages to him. is there a way that you can help me get his new cell no.?

  36. Langkit must have heard of the rampant graft and corruption going on now in Kalinga, and he wants to do something about it, even just to preserve what made life in his home province bearable and near paradise.

    Good luck, Sir!!!

Chi..i cried too when i read the post about Col Querubin..not only bec he is REALLY a TRUE HERO in the sense but he is a dead ringer of my lolo(youngest bro of my lolo)…they look so much alike when he my lolo Naro was younger..and he is now just a fellow na nakalimutan na rin ng panahon. they were thrown here and there during their times…
what i am driving at, ang ating pamahalaan, kahit anong mangyari, kahit sino pa ang maluklok, talagang wala tayong dapat asahan para umasenso kundi sarili natin at ito ay mangyayari kung tayo ay tulung-tulong na puksain ang graft and corruption. Being selfless is the no 1 attitude that each and every entity who will have the power to govern the country and unang una na dapat nilang gawin.
i wonder sino ang unang politiko na magsasabin na hindi nya tatanggapin ang kanyang sweldo at bagkus ay idodonate nya sa mga sangay na katulad ng dept of educ, dept of health, dept of social services???? ILANNNNN?!?!?!?!?
this morning, when i heard chavit-ungas making a reaction bec of an honest citizen who made an email saying “Reasons that will make me leave the Philippines”…naku chavit-ungas…MAGPAKA TOTOO KA..OR RATHER MAGPA KATAO KA!!!!! BANGAW KA LANG kahit anong sabihin mo….people all know you too well..your nothing but a lowlife kawatan na namumutiktik sa hepa..bat kc hindi ka pa natuluyan…kahit anong hugas mo sa ginto at pagit-naan mo ang sarili mo ng mga batang kapit sa patalim na nag-p-p-ta…MABAHO AT MABAHO parin ang kaluluwa mo kung meron ka man!!!!

  38. soleil soleil

bakit hindi ikalat ang kalagayan ng ating mga kagiting giting na kawal..as military wife mentioned, pwede ba yun na hindi pinapapasok ang human rights?…kung hindi nga, its so obvious then na ano nag pinagkaiba natin sa isang communist or dictador na pamahalaan. di ba ang communist ay see-no-evi, hear-no-evil, speak-no-evil…in short, maging tanga at bato ka lang, buhay ka na, may premyo ka pa!

ang kapal ni chavit-ungas kaninang umaga sa ANC…react agad sya re nasangkot ang name nya sa mga reason why a Pinoy would want to leave the Philippines…and for those who have read the email and bombarding the guy…naku pooooo, magpakatotoo kayo ha!!!…ang taong may paninindigan hindi takot kahit ano ang sinasabi nya. ang pag-aakal natin, may democrasya tayo..kaya we have all the right to write what we want and send it to our friends and to share to people who can comprehend and be true people….

  43. soleil soleil

nelbar…sori but i didnt get what u meant re Ozamis in the explainer. i was mentioning Ozamis coz we have relatives there and first hand na they were informing me na wala silang paki sa TU…they want the GO Team to visit them naman and to see them personally..lalo na sa mga sulok-sulok ng mindanao..kc si karat..este kiram na ulyanin ay puro talsik laway lang ang alam nya at kawatan lang nila na bayaran ang pinapagala…5k ang bayad bawat lakad..bahala silang maghati-hati kung may matira…may mga sukbit pa nag armalite…now u tell me that this bogus admin is not using any arms…

  45. Ellen,

Re “Wthat they did was push Gen. Miranda to board the van. ”

Push a 2-star ranking military officer is a NO NO.

Definitely, the soldier who did that went out of bounds. I don’t care if he becomes a POOR SOD and gets treated as such if he had not pushed Major General R Miranda away from media and into a van following Esperon’s instructions.

The bottom line is this act by that trooper must not be overlooked nor must it be ignored. No IFS no BUTS.

Miranda’s life WAS NOT IN DANGER at that instant and there was no need to PROTECT HIM FROM GETTING KILLED OR SOMETHING that this soldier took it upon himself to PUSH/SHOVE a SENIOR military officer into a van to protect him.

From what you said, it is clear that Miranda’s life was not at risk here that it was imperative for an ordinary trooper to manhandle him albeit mildly in that fashion.

That pushing/shoving is tantamount to “striking an officer.”

That soldier MUST BE PUNISHED. Respect for military hierarchy has completely disintegrated. Esperon must be called to task.

You let that act go unpunished, you allow Esperon to get away with murder!

  46. Miranda SHOULDN’T HAVE ALLOWED that to happen.

He should have turned back and ORDERED the soldier to take his hands off him, to make stand at attention and if necessary, to show that he is NO FREAK OF A GENERAL, to ORDER the soldier STEP BACK!

As I had earlier said (in the previous thread), Miranda needs to be DECISIVE if not for himself, for the sake of the junior officers there.

  47. Ellen,

What you said is important and must set precedence:

“But what they cannot accept is the injustice. They have not been charged. They are not guilty of any crime. They have not done anything against the Filipino people.”

Bombard P****************nang Esperon and Gloria with that!

These officers CANNOT ACCEPT injustice. They ARE NOT GUILTY of any crime – they have NOT DONE ANYTHING AGAINST the Filipino people! End of story.

  48. Mrivera Mrivera

Sabi niya “I have the troops and the equipment to fight you, etc.”

  50. Chabeli Chabeli

    Military wife,

Your story is too heart breaking ! It is unbelievable that these Dogs of Gloria are just so inhumane, to say the least !

Esperon is Hitler personified ! If it is any consolation, Esperon will pay for all this.

Please hold firm & believe that God is NOT asleep. Just hang in there & know that in God’s time, everything will unravel & the truth will set your husband & the rest of the People’s Soldiers, free.

  51. chi chi

Is Amnesty International into it? Kasi achilles heel iyan ng tianak!

  52. Valdemar Valdemar

The idea of keeping them in the brigs is to break their will. One or two got infected already with the stockholm syndrome like Langkit. My sympathies for the very inhumane detention.

  53. Valdemar, pls withhold judgment on Langkit. Yes, he aplogized to Esperon but there’s no report about him executing an affidavit against fellow detainees.

He is asking permssion to file certificate of candidacy and campaign. Alangan ba naman awayin niya si Esperon. If allowed, he will run under the Genuine Opposition.

  54. military wife military wife

chabeli: yes it is indeed heart breaking na ako personally dont know na how to gather and put it back into pieces. yes thats true na hindi pinapasok ang human rights dun. miss ellen i was looking forward sa next hearing sna kasi medyo malapit na march16, peru na move daw ng march 27…tagal pa nun, panu ang time namin? panu ang buhay namin? you know miss ellen, i honstly dont trust na the media, ung mga lumabas sa tv…highlihgt lang na nilapat ang marines sa tanay and all..peru ung real essence ng hearing wala, hindi nila pinalabas…ung hindi malaman panu sagotin ng jago ang defense lawyers, ung description ng mukha ni gen yano sa hiya at panu sya pinahiya ng mga lawyers, ung half of the hearing time naka recess sila kasi they dont know what to do na… stuff like that, ung real kwento… good lord he sends somebody like you brave enough to spill the truth…peru not all people have internet access eh…tv pa rin sana ang dapat..anyway i dont know also how to reach you para we can probbly set down and chat together with some wives na namumutok na sa galit. i have to keep my identity kasi d2 or else me and my family would be in danger…

  55. Mrivera Mrivera

  56. Magno?

What?

  57. At nakabili si Boy E ng 2 Mercedes Benz!

Di mo na ba puwedeng kunin pa? Forfeited na ba? Sayang yan! Sige kunin mo kung puwede pa…

  58. Military Wife, don’t expect anything from TV. I felt bad today because I discussed the plight of the detained officers with one of ANC anchors and she quoted Gen. Carolina (now defense undersecretary) saying something like, “what do they expect? gumawa sila ng kasalanan, eh.”

She also said, “Talagang ganyan, talo sila, eh.”

I felt depressed. Let’s just do what we can do.

  59. Carolina said that? ““what do they expect? gumawa sila ng kasalanan, eh.”
