  1. I wish I could go, but we are having a meeting with Filipinos in Nagano on April 1st, and we need to be there by the 31st. It will be a meeting for Trillanes and GO. We have decided to go there as we understand that a lot many people there would want to hear about the GO to vote or recommend to their families in the Philippines to vote for. Hopefully, we’ll be able to collect money for the Trillanes campaign there.

This is good idea for Trillanes. I Just saw Kiko (Mr. Noted) made 4.5M for dinner fund raising at si Edong naman inabutan ng mga businessman ng sobre..I saw it in GMA pinoy TV. Nakakaawa talaga si Trillanes sana manalo ako sa Mega Lotto para makatulong ng malaki.

  3. Ellen,

I’m including the GO site in the flyers we are distributing. Iyong mga staff ko, araw-araw sa vicinity ng Philippine embassy distributing flyers for Trillanes and GO. Kasama na ang GABRIELA sa promotion namin.

Next Sunday, we are opt to meet Filipinos in Nagano, and then off to Hokkaido. Malaki din ang gastos ko because I have to pay for the plane, train and bus fares of my staff. I’m trying driving in the rural areas when we go there para makatipid. Gotta get a crash course because I actually have not driven in Japan. I got an International Driving License when I visited the USA where I have a driver’s license issued by the DMV in CA.

It’s kind of a sacrifice for Trillanes, GO and the land of our birth even when I am in fact a Japanese by nationality. Just want to see someone who shares my dreams get to where he should be serving his country and people. Masaya na ako if he turns out to be the kind of politician of our dream like those politicians in Tokyo that I have helped win, and can feel really proud of!

Thank God for you, Ellen, for bringing us closer to these people you find worthy of our patronage and support.

Dato’s ‘turf’ gets P1 billion from Arroyo gov’t

    03/23/2007

Government resources are now on the roll in Bicol Region, where the son of President Arroyo, Diosdado “Dato” Macapagal-Arroyo, is seeking a congressional seat in the First District of Camarines Sur.

The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) in Bicol has poured in P1 billion for the repair and reconstruction of national roads, bridges and other government structures damaged by Typhoons “Milenyo” and “Reming.”

Earlier reports, however, revealed Malacañang resources and the military are allegedly being utilized by Mrs. Arroyo and her chief of staff, Jose “Joey” Salceda, even before the elections, to intimidate local officials, as well as barangay chiefs in pushing the candidacy of Dato Arroyo.

The young Arroyo has also been doing his rounds in Bicol, apparently to boost his candidacy,

He earlier led the turnover ceremonies of mobile patrol cars and police motorcycles in Legazpi City.

The P1 billion will be derived from the P5 billion allocated for the rehabilitation of the Bicol region.

  5. Sorry, my staff made the mistake, but this should read “we are OFF to meet Filipinos in Nagano. She types my message while I do my work. Ngayon ko lang nakita ang na-type niya. Sorry about that.

  6. Point is, Magno, why is this being allowed by the others manning the government who should be independent of the executive branch of the government.

I agree with Lacson that they should get rid of these pork barrels. They were talking of such things in fact when we left the Philippines in the 60’s. They were being discussed in the Philippine Congress then. Hanggang ngayon pala hindi pa inalis iyan.

I thought when they removed my mother’s cousin from Malacanang, they would have a better government and policies, e iyon pala gusto lang bumalik noong mga kurakot na inalis niya because they were in fact mostly responsible for the old cancer that was never in fact “operated” on, just made to deteriorate and become more serious and fatal.

I can’t understand why the idiots would even make announcements of their public work projects. The citizens of the Philippines should have the mind to tear them down. They should do something about those sundalong tumbong gunning citizens up to do such civic duty—tear down those ads about those idiots in the Philippine Congress. Kakasuka!

another point also here, yuko, is how did the DBM approved the release of this budget in favor of the candidacy of this another “salot” who is in fact not a resident of the area where he is running for a seat in the congress?

Dato to get only mom’s ‘moral support’

    By Sherwin C. Olaes

    03/25/2007

LIBMANAN, Camarines Sur — Breaking his silence, President Arroyo’s son, Diosdado “Dato” Macapagal, yesterday said his mother will not give her any backing other than moral if he pursues his congressional bid in the May 2007 mid-term elections to represent this province in the House of Representatives.

Strong indications showed that Dato is gearing up for a congressional seat in the First District after Rep. Jose “Joey Salceda, who is in his last term in Congress, gave up his post and was appointed by Mrs. Arroyo as her presidential chief of staff, replacing Michael Defensor. (See related story)

In a simultaneous press conference and pulong-sulong (interaction with constituents) held at his house, he intimated to the media that if he decides to run for an elective post, no government machinery would be “misused,” even as he assured his opponents that the elections in his district would be clean, honest and fair.

When asked if it is true that Malacañang had engaged in “foul” means, dispatching the supposedly non-partisan police and military to help push his congressional bid, Dato denied the allegation.

“It’s not true, I’m treating the folk here as brothers, they are brothers to me. The only support I would get from my mother is just the same as what she gives to her candidates under Team Unity (TU) or to members of her political party (Kampi) and that is moral support… she would give me a lot of moral support,” he said.

Movement vs Dato Arroyo launched in Bicol

    03/18/2007

The second presiden-tial son may just lose the congress-ional polls in Camarines Sur, by virtue of his not being a true-blooded Bicolano.

A movement called “Bicol for the Bicolanos” is set to be launched in Naga City, Camarines Sur to counter the candidacy of any non-Bicolano to any elective position in Bicol, church workers in Naga City yesterday said.

The church workers noted that there are many Bicolanos who are capable of representing their fellow Bicolanos and that there is no need for a non-Bicolano to represent them.

It was evident the movement being launched is principally against the presidential son, Diosdado “Dato” Macapagal- Arroyo who has established residence in Camarines Sur with the intention of running for an elective office and is being prepared by his mother, President Arroyo, to run for the First District seat in Camarines Sur.

Dato’s congressional bid in the district was formerly represented by now Budget Secretary Rolando Andaya.

“We have many Bicolanos capable of representing their fellow Bicolanos. We do not need a Pampangueño,” one church worker said yesterday, alluding to Dato.

“Aside from not being a native of Camarines Sur, Dato Arroyo represents the most dangerous dynasty in the country today because it is headed by Mrs. Arroyo herself,” the church worker said.

    Malacañang backs Dato vs critics

    03/19/2007

Malacañang yesterday defended presidential son Diosdado “Dato” Macapagal-Arroyo from the alleged plan of several civil society groups in Camarines Sur, in Bicol region, to launch a movement which will denounce his reported plan to run as congressman in the province.

According to Executive Secretary Eduardo Ermita, critics should not put any malice to the political ambition of the young Arroyo just because he is the son of President Arroyo.

He said the presidential son has surely planned well his options of entering politics so this must not be questioned or doubted by her critics.

The Palace official added Dato’s decision to run as Camarines Sur congressman was his own, not by his parents.

Ermita was reacting to reports that a movement called “Bicol for the Bicolanos” is set to be launched in Naga City, Camarines Sur, to counter the candidacy of the presidential son or any non-Bicolano to any elective position in Bicol.

Church workers in Naga City have claimed many bona fide Bicolanos are capable of representing their provincemates so there is no need for Dato, a non-Bicolano, to represent them in the House of Representatives.

“We have many Bicolanos who are capable of representing their fellow Bicolanos. We do not need a Pampagueño. Aside from not being a native of Camarines Sur, Dato Arroyo represents the most dangerous dynasty in the country today because it is headed by Mrs. Arroyo herself,” the church worker was quoted as saying.
