Is the Comelec trying to instigate a revolution?

Comelec halts media tallies

The Commission on Elections yesterday ordered media outfits to stop their quick count operations or they will be charged with violating elections laws.

GMA Channel 7 and ABS-CBN Channel 2 started conducting separate quick count operations as early as Monday evening or several hours after the polls closed. But they ended their count the next day.

Chairman Benjamin Abalos said TV stations covering the midterm polls should cease airing of “partial, unofficial” results of voting. Click here for full article.

What has happened to the Supreme Court? Is it in to Mike Arroyo’s hatchet job on Alan Cayetano?

Cayetano gets no relief from SC

THE Supreme Court in a special en banc session yesterday denied the petition of Alan Peter Cayetano to declare as final and executory the March 27 Comelec ruling disqualifying Joselito Cayetano as a nuisance candidate and to order Comelec to count “Cayetano” and “Peter” votes in his favor.

“Technically, there is a status quo. Joselito Cayetano is still a candidate. The Court recognizes the urgency of the petition, but before a TRO may be issued, it must be found meritorious. Apparently, no sufficient allegation of petitioner warranted the issuance of a TRO,” said SC spokesman Jose Midas Marquez.

He said Cayetano’s petition might be overtaken by events such as the Comelec’s official count and the proclamation of winners. Click here for full article.

With these disturbing developments and if things go awry, I will consider not to return to Canada anymore. I’ll join the protest groups and will eventually change my name to NoPermanentAddress.

    Sleeplees:
My friend, don’t let your anger control your emotion. Your future is in Canada and not changing your address and wander in the thorny path of mountain. You did our part but, there are still some people who don’t value their sacred freedom. Ninoy Aquino gave his life hoping for a change, but what happen?

Those five senatorial candidates from GO who are on top are already a sure winner and you can cash that in the bank. Trillanes,Pimentel and Cayetano are still in limbo. They can be a victim of dagdag-bawas. The 9-12 slots those are the crucial situation and open for a highest bidder to a corrupt Comelec. Senators are having a 200 million in pork barrel annually, some of these aspiring candidates who want to be a senator will be willing to dole-out even 100 million just a have a senate seat guarantee. They are not the kind of people worth fighting for. Believe me!

  3. cocoy cocoy

It is always the same scenario and the same dirty politics because the COMELEC is weak.We can only achieve honesty and free and clean election by the time they change and behave.

It’s about time the Media challenge Mr. Abalos to lay the charges and take the case if necessary to the Supreme Court to challenge its Constitutionality as it looks as it infringes on the Guaranteed Freedom of the Press. Maybe a good reason to file impeachment proceedings against him afterward if the charges turned out an unwarranted abuse of Power. Give an old dog a lesson, he may still learn..

  5. They cannot thwart the will of the people, Ellen. Even in Japan, the Japanese media has become hostile to this bogus administration all of a sudden. We plan to cooperate in exposing this attempt to mar the election with this BS by the Comelec that I personally think should be abolished for having been made a useless agency to guard the sanctity of Filipino votes.

I was very vocal about my sentiments against these people who have made a lot many of us not be proud of the Philippines for what it has become under this bogus regime. I was getting to have hopes when the polls here showed 8-1-3 in Tokyo and 9-1-2 in Osaka in favor of GO, but with this Namfrel bullshitting and now Abaloslos herniang, I feel being robbed really of my precious sleep. I have just woken up in fact from a 9-hour sleep after staying awake for almost 48 hours Monday through Tuesday.

I had a good sleep alright only to be disappointed when I saw the Namfrel manipulating once again with the diminishing GO candidates in the list even when the sentiment of majority of Filipinos at home and abroad is definitely pro-GO and anti-administration.

The Filipinos have made their decision. This government has no right to take that back from them. You bet, this is revolt that these crooks are trying to start. They should not be too sure that the ordinary Filipino cannot fight. Filipinos are very good at that. In fact, the word guerrilla came from the Filipino resistance activities of WWII. They can do the same with or without outside help.

The guerrillas under Escudero’s grandfather’s leadership did not have US help as a matter of fact till the end of the war. For two or three years they fended for themselves.

Pandak should not be too sure of herself too much. The soldiers are not hers to agree to the mass killing of Filipinos as a matter of fact just to make sure she gets what she wants—to be queen of her enchanted kingdom—when she steals their sacred votes again, cheats and lies!

    Thank God for Ellenville!

The media is slowly succumbing to Malacanang’s pressure to keep the canvassing under wraps. My wife is noting, with increasing alarm, how news on the canvassing have started to dry up. What the f*ck is happening??? Even ANC has returned to regular programming. Excuse me, but when the future of my country is at stake, I don’t much care to see Bill Velasco and company yakking on HardBall. ABS-CBN should realize that the country needs it the most at this very critical juncture of the election.

I salute Ellen and all the brave citizens of Ellenville for providing a foil to Gloria’s wicked plot to thwart the will of the people once more.

    WALANG TULUGAN!

The National Board of Canvassers had finally convened two days after May 14, 2007 is a delaying tactics to iron-out a “credible” dagdag-bawas scheme. Any delay may create tension among die-hard political supporters. The center of political and economic power Metro Manila had repudiated the illegitimate Gloria Arroyo government. Mercenary election’s fraud operators are determined to thwart the true people’s mandate with the blessings from their evil patroness. Gloria Arroyo’s political survival is at stake. It appears that partisan Comelec chief Benjamin Abalos wants to gag TV-radio quick count upon the orders from Malacanang despite of signed ABS-CBN Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) with STI and the COMELEC to conduct a media count. The Filipino people won’t allow massive cheating in favor of losing TUTA candidates. As expected, the Comelec has no credibility to conduct clean and honest elections. Be fair and come clean Senor Abalos. Public anger is ready to explode. Only time can tell.

Maguindanao (chavit #1): GMA NEWS TEAM BARRED FROM ENTERING CAPITOL – disturbing development.

Register voter: 10,999 actual voters: 10,666 – still disturbing.

  9. Kiram got only 63 votes out of the 1829 Filipinos who voted in Japan. It is a reflection of the sentiments even of Moslems in Mindanao. If Chavit Singson gets No. 1 spot there, you know for sure that they are lying based on this low showing of this candidate whom the short woman hopes would boost up the chances of talagang mga ungas in Mindanao. Si Kiram nga hindi No. 1 doon.

Ilocano yata si Garci! Sayang ang ibinayad sa kaniya kundi magiging No. 1 si Singson, and if he concedes now about his own defeat, it is definitely more a show as the guy in fact is not keen about becoming part of the dirty system that he has helped create. Nacababain datoy Ilocano nga dagitoy. Sayang ang pagka-Ilocano nila. Shame on them!

  10. Media in the Philippines should not allow Abaloslos to be dictating on them. Time for enlightened journalists there to learn to be more assertive and use their pens for upholding truth and righteousness.

The people have the right to know the truth about this mid-term election. They should be encouraged to watch out for these crooks, and not allow them to rob them again of their sacred votes.

For Senators over here in Japan, overall, it was 8-1-3. We made sure no one is cheated over here. I don’t know in other posts, but Zubiri can rest assured that he was not cheated although he did not make it to the Magic 12 over in Japan.

As for the partylists, the True Marcos Loyalists made it top followed by Gabriela, Bayan Muna, Anakpawis and Akbayan in that order. Babae Ka scored O that for us proved that majority of the OFWs are not fooled by expensive propaganda by this bogus regime, and want the bogus president out.

  11. The boycott of majority of the OFWs is indication enough of disatisfaction with this bogus administration. Only 15.5% of the 504,000 OFWs, who have bothered to register for the OAV election, cast their votes.

Actually, they should remove that clause on requiring Filipinos to go home for good to the Philippines 3 years after registering as Philippine voters. They should also try to change the registration of Filipinos in the Philippines. Over in Japan, tracting Japanese are not difficult, and why the absentee voting for Japanese is not as complicated as the OAV of Filipinos, who are finding it more difficult in fact to cast their votes because of those silly instructions and requirements that do not even guarantee a clean election with the Malacanang occupants not interested in making elections clean for the sole benefit and survival of the wannabe queen who has violated the law lots of time enough for her to be tagged as a criminal.

  12. Diego K. Guerrero Diego K. Guerrero

Where’s Chavit’s Solid North? What went wrong with command votes? He can transfer his residency to Maguindanao and run for public office in 2010. Warlord Chavit Singson appeared to be trailing badly in Ilocos region based on unofficial election returns.
    # 1 in his home province of Ilocos Sur????????
    #15 Ilocos Norte
    # 21 Pangasinan
    # 28 La Union
Number one choice in Maguindanao is for Ripley’s Believe or Not. Shameless election chief Abalos is doing his best just satisfy Gloria’s greed of political power.

  13. Elvira Sahara Elvira Sahara

Nagtataka ba kayo kung bakit walang news about OFW votes sa Germany? I only read 199 votes from Hamburg, so far. More than 50,000 Pilipinas as residing in Germany and 2/3 of these are still Pilipino passport holders. But where are their votes? The answer is clear: Never heard! Ang nakaalam naman, never bothered to tell those uninformed! Anong gawa ng Phil. Embassy? Just busy! Busy lang ba!

  14. kitamokitako kitamokitako

  15. Elvie,

In 2004, the number of Filipinos in Japan was more or less 90,000 but this number has decreased because of the raids conducted by police on these overstaying Filipinos. The number is more or less around 30,000.

The registered voters in Japan is around 10,000 but this figure is in fact now unreliable because of the deportation of Filipinos. Only over a thousand Filipinos bothered to vote this year, muntik pang madaya.

GMA and her cohorts did it in the 2004 elections. Never again!!!

I was reading Manolo Quezon’s blog and I saw some unkind comments directed at Ellen. Buti na lang, Manuel Buencamino was there.

    Read here: http://www.quezon.ph/?p=1370

  20. Hi Tongue,

I had several run ins with that duo over at Quezon’s blog too. Once, some two years ago, I made a supalpal (double) to that Mita who probably she’s heaven’s gift to the commenters’ world.

That Bencard is a through and through Gloria ass licker.

Haven’t been back there for sometime – medyo I got bored.

Good to know Manuel B is there to keep an eye on Gloria’s tulisans there.

Meanwhile, I’m kinda worried about the turn these elections are taking. Ellen is right to ask “Is the Comelec trying to instigate a revolution?”

Someone has got to take Comelec’s Abalos by the neck and give him a thorough spanking – that should drive blood into his dried brain.

As to Ellen’s another pertinent question: “What has happened to the Supreme Court? Is it in to Mike Arroyo’s hatchet job on Alan Cayetano?” I won’t be surprised if they are… The nation’s so called independent institutions are hardly independent. We’ve seen that all throughout the nation’s recent history under Gloria, starting with the despicable Davide.

With Comelec’s Abalos most likely sleeping in the same bed with Jose Pidal on the Cayetano issue (there’s no way one can say Abalos and Pidal aren’t in bed together, circumstancial evidences point in that direction), frankly, one wonders the country has not gone berserk.

Yuko says “They cannot thwart the will of the people, Ellen. ” but they can try and are trying to do just that. There is absolutely no moral fibre left in any of these people.

Revolution? Perhaps that is what Gloria wants to happen – that will give her the excuse to gleefully declare martial law. Well, here’s what – I give her my left hand middle finger salute!

  23. Do we honestly believe that this EVIL woman will accept the will of the people. I’ve said it before, it will get worse until Martial Law is declared to give her power to do what she wants. As I’ve said before the writing is on the wall – its about time people thought of where this EVIL bitch is taking this country – its for her benefit NOT ours!
Without the support of the crooked leaders of comelec, military, police & judiciary this EVIL woman is nothing! absolutly nothing!

  24. sleeplessinmontreal: get back to Canada where you can find people to help your country, because when the anti terrorist law comes into effect we will find ourselves in a super dictatorship unless the people here wake-up very soon, as in NOW!.

Sinabi mo pa. But who can beat our Anna or Chi na matiyaga din lumaban? I love you guys for your courage!

  26. How many people realise the chances are that ALL the new GO Senators could easily have fabicated anti terrorist cases filed against them to put them in control of a corrupt administartion and put out of circulation. Unless you can tell me for sure thats impossible!
The Congress will rue the day that they passed this anti terror law, in such a quick manner. Its the ideal weapon for a schizo with no concience but only survival in her mind, to use.

  27. TT:

Takot sila dahil madali silang mabisto dito. Now, we know that T. Kawali is the same detractor blogging in all Filipino egroups, and found out to be the pseudonyms of the Pidal daughter.

Kunyari Marcos Loyalists!

  29. TT

As I have written here, my mother is related by blood to the late president through his father, whose mother was related to my maternal great grandmother, but I did not support the True Marcos Loyalist partylist. I just realized that there was this group when I was making the tally sheets for our pollwatchers.

I actually supported Gabriela for protecting the rights of women in the Philippines. Binantayan lang namin ang boto for Akbayan, Bayan Muna and Anakpawis, which gave my group the right to pollwatch for them.

I am marking in fact. Na-submit ko na ang list of winners here to GO via JV Ejercito, et al.

  30. One thing I would recommend to future pollwatchers is to have their own minutes, too, likewise of what is transpiring in their precinct and have the SBEI sign them. There are lots of things I can recommend to the group I worked with in fact for the passage of the OAV Law to stop the Comolec from making things more complicated with aim for massive cheating. Tangina talaga!

  31. Goldenlion,

GO: Comelec order vs media quick count ‘unconstitutional’

The Genuine Opposition on Thursday lambasted as “unconstitutional” the Commission on Elections’ order to stop the quick counts by two television networks.

GO spokesman Adel Tamano said the Comelec directive was an “unconstitutional infringement on press freedom and the public’s right to information.”

“The quick counts are an important source of information demanded by the public who want to know how their national candidates are faring in the elections,” Tamano said in a text message.

“The counts are a matter of public interest and cannot be prohibited on a mere suspicion by the Comelec that the count will be used for trending,” he said.

If quick counts have been allowed in the past, then Tamano wondered why these were now prohibited by the poll body.

    http://www.eleksyon2007.inquirer.net/

  33. Do we all agree that in 2005 with the breaking news scandal of the comelec ‘Garci’ taped conversations affair that this was the opportunity to completely disband ALL members of the comelec. But we are so weak that although everyone was talking about it at the time, nobody acted on it, did they!
Once again, there’s no surprise is there that these corrrupt comelec officials are under orders from this corrupt administration. But there’s no doubt in my mind that everyone will again talk about the future of this comelec body of corrupt officials, but – – – no action!
The filipino public are their worse enemy, all talk and no action!

  34. The filipino public are their OWN worse enemy. all talk and no action! Get rid of these clowns in the comelec they insult all of us.

    WWNL, Manong Cocoy

Tnanks for your concern and friendly advice.

As to the Comelec’s directive to ABS-CBN and GMA 7 to stop the media count, tingnan natin ang resolve nitong dalawang giant network na ito. After earning gargantuan profit from the political ads, they owe it to the people to fulfill their promise to bring the news as it is without fear or favor.

  37. Chabeli Chabeli

“Is the Comelec trying to instigate a revolution?”

I think they, like Gloria & her dogs, are out of touch. The consequences will be beyond them.

I am running for the Senate to have it abolished later when I am already there!”

But you can see the effect of these political ads and trending. Dito sa Japan marami ang nakinig kay Enteng of B&W. 8-1-3 sa Japan in favor of GO.

For Japan based Filipinos, it is at 7 pm in front of the embassy both at the admin and consulate.

There is a plan to demonstrate likewise in front of the Imperial Hotel where the Pandak will stay should she try to cheat in this election again.

It is being timed on the same date and time of the reception Pandak is tendering for the Filipino community daw on government junket. 10,000 yen per head for the food plus rental fee for the hall, plus, plus tobe charged to the Filipino taxpayers. Abuso? You bet!

  39. Adel Tamano, GO spokesman on the 12-0 for TU in Maguindanao:

The 12-0 result in Maguindanao with Chavit as number one speaks volumes about the credibility – or lack therof – of elections in that area.

Even assuming that Maguindanao is an administration bailiwick, why is Chavit – a Christian and not from Mindanao, number one and not Kiram, who logically will be supported by his fellow Muslims and Mindanaoans, not number one or even in second place?

It does not only smell like cheating but it stinks to high heavens.

  40. Even with the stray ballots, Alan Cayetano won in Japan. with the trend of 8-1-3 in favor of the GO, I have no doubt that he will win the election. Magbalot na sina Pandak!

May naniniwala pa ba sa mga iyan. Maguindanao must be one of the provinces being abandoned by the Moslems for a crook like Singson to be winning there and not a Moslem like Kiram. Halatang-halata ang pandaraya. Naubos siguro ang bet ni Singson sa Las Vegas kay Garci and his fellow mandarambong of votes (Kontra Daya has actually identified them). Kinana niya. Nakakahiya silang mga Ilocano sila!

    revolution? mass action? people power?

these are what gloria macagarapal arroyo and her court of loose nuts are waiting to fully implement the anti terror law and declare martial law!

  43. Mrivera Mrivera

“…waiting FOR to fully implement the anti terror law and ……”

  44. Magno:

Anong balita sa KSA? I understand that the trend is the same as in Japan.

Out of 504,000 voters 15.5% lang ang bumoto.
