Sabi ni Sarmiento, “Kung may bahid sila ng kanilang asosasyon kay Garci, kailangan humarap sila sa imbestigasyon.”

Akala yata ni Sarmiento at ng mga kasama niyang mga palpak na commissioners sa Comelec , matatakpan nila ang malaking kasalanan ginawa nila sa taumbayan sa nakaraang eleksyon.
Kung lumabas man ang kagustuhan ng taumbayan sa mga senatorial race, hindi yun dahil sa kanila. Masasabi natin na “despite them.”
Akala yata nila nakalimutan natin kung paano nila sinabotahe ang kandidatura ni Alan Peter Cayetano. Itong si Sarmiento pa nag-press briefing para ibenta ang kanilang ginawang pagpahirap kay Alan Cayetano sa pamamagitan ng hindi pagdisqualify kay Joselito Cayetano.
Akala siguro ni Sarmiento nakalimutan ng taumbayan ang nakita nilang pagkampi niya kina Jubil Surmieda at Renault “Boy” Macarambon, mga kilalang bata ni Garcillano sa Comelec nang mahuli sila ni Ricky Carandang ng ANC na dinadala ang mga elction returns sa kanilang hotel sa Iligan City ng gabi bago magka-special elections sa Lanao del Sur.
Sa mga sumunod na interview, sinabi ni Sarmiento na hindi raw niya alam ang background nina Boy Macarambon. Sinabi pa niya na hindi raw niya napakinggan ang Hello Garci tapes.
Anong klaseng commissioner ka? Bilang election commissioner ang trabaho mo ay pangangalagaan ang boto ng taumbayan. Trabaho mo dapat alamin ang nangyayari sa election. Huwag mo naman sabihin na hindi mo alam ang Hello Garci scandal na yumanig sa taumbayan.
Matagal ng nire-reklamo ni Sen. Aquilino Pimentel ang pag-promote sa mga Comelec officials na sangkot sa Hello Garci operations. Hindi pinansin ni Chairman Bejamin Abalos. Kaya, ayan namayagpag naman sila nitong nakaraang May 14 eleksyon.
Sinabi sa report na maliban kay Macarambon, ang mga nabanggit sa Hello Garci operations ay sina Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao election director Rey Sumalipao, na provincial election supervisor (PES) ng Lanao del Sur in 2004; Maguindanao PES Lintang Bedol; Renato Mabutay, ARMM director noong 2004, na napromote bilang 2006 as regional director para sa Northern Mindanao na sakop ang covers Misamis Oriental, Misamis Occidental, Camiguin, Bukidnon and Lanao del Norte; Francisco Pobe, dating election supervisor sa Agusan del Sur na nagging assistant regional director sa Caraga region noong 2006.
Dapat managot ang may kasalanan.Dapat kasama lahat na Comelec Commisioners sa pangunguna ni Abalos. At huwag natin kalimutan ang master mind nito lahat na si Gloira Arroyo. Kaya dapat isulong ang impeachment.
Akala ni Com. Rene Sarmiento kaya niyang bolahin ang taumbayan. Matagal ng alam ng sambayan Pilipino kung sino-sino ang mga Judas at nagyurak sa ating demokrasya noon 2004 at 2007 eleksyones. Controversial Maguindanao election supervisor Lintang Bedol had asked local election officers to turn over all election documents to him on May 28, a day before he said the same documents got lost.
A municipal election officer in one of the towns in Maguindanao told Newsbreak that on May 28, a Monday, Bedol asked them to submit to him all the copies of the election paraphernalia that they had in their custody. This was the day after they received summons to appear at an investigation by the Commission on Elections (Comelec) en banc.
Among the documents that Bedol asked the election officers to turn over to him “for safekeeping” were the copies for the Municipal Board of Canvassers, which municipal Comelec officers were supposed to keep for records purposes, and other election paraphernalia.

Ang problema kasi sa Pilipinas is that Filipinos cannot expect any government agency to function well with the government headed by a criminal who has violated not just one law but even the Constitution of the land, and the agencies like the Comelec headed by political appointees of the criminal. Sinabi mo pa, Myrna, there is nothing close about a case that has not been properly prosecuted. Iyong pang kaso nina Satur Ocampo, et al dahil may clemency naman na sila nang tumakbo sila sa position. Iyong kay Garci hindi naman inimbestigahan ng mga kurakot na pulis, et al. And I doubt if there is even what legally is termed as statute of limitation in the Philippines. For as long as there are evidences available that can be presented and the criminal is alive and kicking, he can be prosecuted. Ayaw lang ngang kumilos ang mga ungas kasi sabit silang lahat! It is as simple as that and clear as the ray of the sun!
In fact, in the case of Garci, Ebdane should be charged with obstruction of justice when he allegedly aided Garci in evading the law. He may try to deny it, but it is the responsibility of the police to investigate the truth of the allegation that it was him who protected the creepy vote-rigger.

If and when the reps find that the solutions they have put forward (after all, Gloria asked for help in solving the killings under her very nose), are being mocked about, Gloria’s government runs the risk of being blacklisted in the EU.

Enormous probability that some hands in Malacanang are assigned almost 24/7 to monitor Ellen’s blog particularly in light of what it has achieved: campaign for Trillanes to win.
The heroine in Ellen’s blog is Ellen herself. Ellen’s blog will also remain in blogging history as the one blog that generated passion and that kept the fire burning for Trillanes.
Ellen’s blog set the campaign stage for the right-minded people like you, Chi, Sampot, Magno, Skip, Luz, Rose, Schumey, cvj, and the rest of the members of Ellenville to campaign for and carry Trillanes (never mind me, I was only a silent onlooker/observer although I put his name in my ballot.)
I am pretty sure that Malacanang must have been startled by this phenomenon and gobsmacked by the power of Ellen’s blog – I am confident that Malacanang will be all the more interested in the happenings in Ellen’s blog from now on.

Yep – am based here for the moment. I am the ultimate OFW, getting sent everywhere and anytime even in the middle of winter (children resent the moves saying that when they grow up they will never ever move from one place anymore) – from troubled Belfast to the deep end of icy Glasgow to potentially in Bangalore or in horrible Crystal City near Washington DC or to wherever and whenever I am or spouse is assigned.
In 2003-2004, we moved 4 times in Europe.
Moved homes I mean – that it would have been cheaper to perhaps have a mobile home or two – heheh!

You mentioned Lt Gen Urgello yesterday (I know him very well); my thought about the Oakwood mutiny was the same as Urgello’s (though we never spoke about this), i.e., we didn’t approve the attempted coup d’état (t’was an attempted coup d’état not just a mutiny) not because of the idea but the choice of battle orbit which in essence was in contradiction to the tenet that guides an honourable military, take the war to the enemies and avoid collateral damage (and a few other thoughts not worth mentioning anymore).
But when Trillanes decided to take his battle into the political arena by joining the political gladiators in the 2007 contest, and as you very well know since I posted my one liner thoughts on that, my initial thought was, “Good!” That is a different theatre of war altogether and I approved. General Urgello, I read last night said pretty much the same thing.
