Pasasalamat ni Trillanes

trillanes-pasasalamat.jpg

I am proud to say I went to the Philippines, volunteered in campaigning for him with a small group with our own money, voted for him and everybody who show courage against this administration and celebrated his triumph by thanking God with a prayer that he wil not disappoint the more than eleven million Filipinos and their families who believe in him.

It’s also with pride to say that the bloggers in Ellenville inspired us to go all out for Sen. Trillanes. But of course, everything was centered on the prolific writing and courage by Ms. Ellen Tordesillas in showing what it takes in going against the might of a tyrannical administration. I believe Sen. Trillanes knows how the bloggers here almost in unison uncessantly rooted for him guided by every thread Ma’m Ellen wrote.

    hi ellen,

like you i went around speaking to taxi drivers and got similar responses. the magic of the man, i guess, is that he makes people believe. many in previous elections have declared affinity for a candidate but at the same breathe insist that they may not give them a vote because he/she is sure to lose. in this case, however, people have voted against traditional thinking and voted for the man, regardless of perceived ability to win.

it takes no amount of genius to figure out that there is promise here. i have seen in him a courage or conviction i can only hope to emulate. we are of the same generation, and possibly similar perspectives. but where as i fought against the ills of our society with desperate resignation, this man has stepped up and fought back. he has caused people such as prof nemenzo to take stock of previous beliefs and reconstitute them to lend support for him. what i would give to be back in the philippines and work for this man.

his tone harkens back to a past generation where honor was a way of life and true value lay in principle. idealism was not a four letter word. i do pray he keeps his ways or at least be true to the spirit of his priniciples. politics will tarnish some of that luster, for sure, but with him there is a real chance that our people will see a new way to approach our political life.

    and its about time.

Congratulations for a job well done xanadu. My friends, family and relatives really voted for him. While we were in the Phils during the holidays, we visited Fort Bonifacio and from there we learned that my cousin is one of the soldiers that are guarding him in his detention. We tried to ask if we can visit him but we were not allowed.

Their duty is to protect the people and the state and not to Gloria only and her corrupt dogs.

Millions saw the light in Trillanes and voted for him. The future of the Philippines looks brighter. As Ellen said kailangan niya ang tulong ng lahat. Sabi nga- “it is better to light a candle than to curse the whole darkness.”

Everyone did their part in campaigning for Trillanes. My whole family did and we are not disappointed. This man so far has untainted convictions. He has just one mission-to have a government who will be run by credible people-no corruption! It is almost asking for the impossible! We need more of him to put life into our ailing country. As my older brother who left the Philippines over 40 yrs ago puts it, ” The Philippines is in its final stages of cancer”. No amount of chemo will bring life to it. But I tend to disagree with him. With Trillanes, Escudero, Alan Cayetano and hopefully Kiko Pimentel, these young blood will be like the stem cells that will rejuvinate the already metastasized cells of our political system. The win of these young senators has given us a new hope for life. More power to them!

  7. parasabayan parasabayan

Jadenlou, the soldiers are already awake. Most of them voted for Trillianes. For fear of incarceration and removal from the service, most of them are just quiet for the meantime. When the time is ripe, they will all come out in the open and I know that this is just around the corner. This is why the tiyanak and assperon are really very nervous now! They will be booted out and soon!

  8. Jadenlou Jadenlou

Parasabayan, those mighty soldiers who maintain their dignity and honor are the last best hope for the country. It would be nice one day to spend our twilight years back home.

I could foresee in the future that Trillianes can be a good President if and only if the rotten system won’t corrupt him. Filipinos are desperate for change. When will this happen? I do not know. Sometimes, I am losing hope especially if Gloria is still there….

  9. skip skip

Up until recently, my batting average for picking election winners has been dismal. Salonga. De Villa. Villanueva. All bets of mine. All bit the dust.

My senatorial track record isn’t much better. I swear I have this gift for sniffing out and supporting the most unwinnable of the entire darn lot.

In fact, I’ve gotten quite used to backing sure losers that the last elections came as a really pleasant surprise. Eight, possibly nine out of twelve. I’m still pinching myself.

When Trillanes came from nowhere and whipped the corrupt asses of Gloria Arroyo, Pichay, Zubiri, Singson, Sotto, Recto, Defensor, et al, it was as clear a signal as any that the Filipino now refuses to take sh*t from trapos.

It’s like waking up from a really bad dream and realizing that heck, I am the BOSS. And because I am the BOSS, I can crumple the resume of job applicants like Zubiri and Pichay and chuck them right into the waste basket.

I’ll continue voting for losers as long as I am convinced that they are the right people for the job.

But it sure is nice to know that the tide has turned.

    Ellen, thanks a lot!

  10. parasabayan parasabayan

Our government went through years of degradation. It will take the same amount of time to get it out of the state it is in. The effort of everyone is neededd to correct the rotten system. We have so many laws against corruption but nobody is jailed for for it. This has to change if we want to change our contry’s direction towards progress.

Jadenlou, I am an incurable optimist! I do believe that we will have a great nation again one day!

  11. xanadu xanadu

    Parasabayan

I believe you, I share your sentiment that we will overcome everything. Other nations suffered more than what we are in now, from the ashes they rose to greatness. A day will come in our midst with somebody who will bail us out from the road of perdition. It could be not now, but it will be sooner or later. We just must have faith as long as we live.

  12. Thanks, Ellen, for the beautiful message from our favorite senator.

You bet, where others failed, Sonny achieved to get—the reconciliation of Filipinos! Walang division even among the usual foes, the followers of Ninoy Aquino and Ferdie Marcos!

This, I know to be true. A lot many supporters of the great Apo in fact in Ilocos Norte, and even in Singson’s Ilocos Sur, according to my nephew, who served as SBEI there, told me that the Ilocanos there gave him a winning vote. Even Noynoy got elected there, too, something that could have been unthinkable I guess had Bongbong Marcos not deliberately denied connection with Oliver Lozano who tried to destroy the chances of Alan Cayetano to be voted and continue to pursue his case against the devilish Fatso.

For me, Ellen, this is true unity, not the unity that the ASO and the TUta were trying to deceive the voters with but failed.

Sonny is successful because he is inspired of God, no doubt, and reason why he can see straight and clear the evil around him, and despite his present limitations, never loses that courage and fearlessness to declare evil for evil, and distinguish between right and wrong. His courage indeed can inspire even the judge or judges now trying his and his fellow Magdalo’s cases.

Sonny need not lose hope nor be persuaded by evil men to do what God has not inspired him to do. It is indeed refreshing to hear him say those words that we want to hear and feel he should do as God has dictated him, you and everyone here to do, a reason in fact why we can all be united in supporting him, no ifs, no doubt.

I can understand about how to be under constrained. As a foreigner, I am not in fact allowed this and that to do for Sonny’s campaign here in Japan, but somehow, I have done my part some other way that, in fact, has made me feel closer to God as I fasted and prayed hard for Sonny to win, and inspire as many Filipino voters there are to help him get a place in the Magic 12.

I always remembered the story about how God made a deal with Abraham on saving Sodom and Gomorrah. God asked for only 10 men to pray for those sinful cities. There were none, but it was good lesson enough for those asking for God’s intervention in making some impossible mission to succeed as in the candidacy of Senator Trillanes with the creeps at the palace by the murky even now trying hard to stop him to do as God has willed him to do. God will answer the prayers of even one or two as long as they are sincere and said not for one’s selfish intention but for the good of all God’s spirit children.

This, Ellen, is why I know that NOBODY and NOTHING can stop Sonny Trillanes from doing what is right, true, and yes, even beautiful.

I’m most grateful indeed to know that Sonny Trillanes has so much faith in God. Napapaiyak tuloy ako! I am truly grateful that I am not sorry I have supported him along, even before he joined politics. Alam ni Ka Mentong iyan as a matter of fact.

I’m glad to know likewise how he responds to all those who have supported him.

GOD BLESS YOU! I like what he did to Villar and those wanting to corrupt him apparently but cannot!

The ink wasn’t even dry on the ballot when 11 million plus voted for Trillanes and most of his nemesis are in panic. People saw hope in him even though he is a new kid on the block, as I elaborated in the earliest stage that he will win and he is a pregnant promise to the people’s salvation in abject poverty and injustice as Mary bear Jesus in her womb. Although, there was no Three Kings in the offing,

Contrary to the popular perception, the people has flushed out the old blood and infused some new blood. The aura of change is almost as clear that the Filipino people are sick and tired with these traditional politicians who only padded their pockets. Trillanes win, changes everything. But this changes signifies more than the obvious mechanics of who does or does not have leadership experience or potential, or who knows or can quickly pick up senate procedure. It’s about chemistry and relationships that people voted for him. The message is clear, Filipino people are dismayed with Gloria and they sent David to slay Goliath.

You bet, nagising na ang maraming pilipino. I think nagtutulug-tulugan lang sila noon kasi wala namang itulak-kabigin.

The first time I saw Sonny was when he led those soldiers at Oakwood and made the dramatic appeal for this government to see reason and people’s cry for return to the rule of law and reason. Medyo skeptical pa nga ako noon as I watched those video clips that I was translating for the news flash on Japanese TV because TVs and newspapers here were, still are, all in Japanese because majority of the Japanese feel and think Japanese is the most perfect language for them to express their feelings and sentiments.

But I began to admire and have faith in this young soldier as I followed his and his friends’ case. Ka Mentong followed their case faithfully in his columns that I savored reading, and I told Ka Mentong my willingness to help in accordance with the law in defending Trillanes and his friends, a reason in fact why I have been able to get ahold of groups and movements supporting Senator Trillanes.

Now, I know why. He must have been foreordained by God to lead his people out of their present bondage like Moses of old. And you, Ellen, and us in this blog must have been like Joshua and the rest who supported Moses.

Kaya kahit anong kabulastugan ang isiping gawin ng unano at galamay niya, wala na siyang magagawa, for God cannot be mocked!!!

No proclamation daw even after June 30 of the senator for the 12th seat.

OK lang basta hindi nila isisingit iyong binabae, who should concede now. Enough is enough! Kailan ba ang rally for Koko Pimentel?

Wala raw yagbols!!! Wala nga kasi nga bakla!

There are many reasons why Sen. Trillanes made it to the Senate and in almost all forum and blogs, his unprecedented feat is the topic. As for me, the sudden popularity of Sen. Trillanes is primarily caused by the unpopularity of Gloria Macapagal Arroyo. The more than eleven million Filipinos who voted for Trillanes would point out their their dislike for Gloria Macapagal Arroyo and her cabal of dishonest officials now lording in the present administration. The people dumped her candidates to show their disdain and contempt towards the military who are corrupt and were instruemental in cheating her way to stole the presidency in 2004.

The dismal showing of the Gloria’s boys and shift of voters preference to the opposition is the People Power many have been waiting for but did not materialize through a series of rallies and street demonstrations. It is a People Power not by the noisy convergence of people at EDSA but done in the quiet and silence in a voting booth. The ballots prevailed over the bullets because to our mind, had it been done in the likes of EDSA 1 or 2, there will be bloodshed for the generals of Gloria will not hesitate to kill as ordered by her lowness.

God, as always, has His mysterious way.

Sinabi mo pa. I experienced that heady feeling when we protested against the sales of Philippine properties in Japan in 1989-1992. It was a long struggle, and I used a lot of my inheritance money for that fight.

We actually won although the fight is still on with the crooked couple keen for selling these properties despite the Supreme Court ruling that no patrimony of the Philippines can be disposed of without a national referendum and the deal open for public scrutiny.

Pasalamat nga kami these properties are in Japan, and somehow protected by the Japan-Philippine reparations treaty. We should actually thank those Japanese negotiators who included that clause enabling the people of the Philippines to file litigation for any such attempt to discard of the patrimonies in Japan without the Filipinos knowing what the deal is all about.

Over here in fact, there are lawyers who would be willing to take such case to court on behalf of the people of the Philippines FREE OF CHARGE!!! None of the Filipino negotiators thought of such then as a matter of fact.

With Senator Pimentel, Trillanes and hopefully Koko there, we know the 5 Philippine properties in Japan are safe and sound from the greedy Pidals and their cahoots!!!

when i voted the unknown sonny trillanes, i did not expect him winning but just a show of support in his struggle and belief in his principles.

and now he had made it, i realized it was his destiny!

    senator trillanes, more power!

  26. Magno,

But what a relief indeed na iba itong manok nating ito.

And I bet you, dinidibdib ni Senator Trillanes iyan.

Pagbutihin mo, Senator Trillanes. Kasama mo kami palagi!

  27. Off topic but tangi na talaga itong si Joker Arroyo, who is trying to be a prophet of doom, trying his best to create intrigues among the GO senators just so they can split the group.

Hopefully, majority of the GO senators would still hold on to the rod, and keep their unity despite these attempt by the criminal through her emissary, Joker Arroyo, to create an image of a disbanded GO.

Trillanes should take chairmanship of defense or vice-chair to Sen.

    Ellen,

I just would like to share a link to a serendipitous find. It’s a letter to the Tribune editor which Sen. Trillanes wrote on August 28, 2003, a few months after Oakwood.

This was the time when Gloria had just unleashed her attack dogs and was trying her darnest to discredit the young man who had the gumption to use Oakwood as a pulpit to expose her anomalous administration.

The letter shows that he never wavered one bit from his convictions.

    Mabuhay ka, Senator Trillanes.

In other words, magaling sa utakan!!!

Don’t like their politics sa totoo lang. I have expressed my opinions on these people sa totoo lang.

Trillanes for president 2016!

Trillanes defies tradition, to take oath before village chief

Just when his fellow senators-elect had Chief Justice Reynato Puno administer their oaths of office, Senator-elect Antonio Trillanes IV will defy tradition by tapping a village chief in Caloocan City for the same ceremony.

An ABS-CBN News report said Ruben Gatchalian, barangay captain of Barangay 169, will administer the oath-taking of Trillanes at the Christ the King Parish on Friday.

Trillanes, in jail for charges related to the July 2003 Oakwood mutiny, is expected to be given a one-day furlough by the court for the ceremony.

Gatchalian is a close friend of Trillanes. The village chief said he regards former Navy officer as a serious and quiet person.

He added that it will be an honor to lead the oath-taking since this will be the first time in history that a barangay captain will swear in a winning senatorial candidate.

Gatchalian also said that he believes that it Trillanes’s strong character made win in the last elections. He added that Trillanes will not compromise his principles once he takes his post at the Senate.

Trillanes considers Caloocan as his hometown.

skip, maraming salamat sa reference dun sa sinulat ni sen trillanes. naninindig balahibo ko while reading it. talaga naman, what he said then and what he is standing for now has not changed at all.

yan ang tao — may prinsipyo! kaya nga siguro kinikilabutan na sa pagkatakot si gloria dahil kung noon nga, nakasulat si AT4 ng ganun, how much more ngayon. sa dinami-dami ng naniniwala sa kanyang paninindigan, talaga nga naman, she (the tyanak) should be afraid, be very afraid!

worth mentioning too the column written yesterday by de quiros.

ayan, sa pag oath taking niya in caloocan, the more the people would appreciate his transparency, giving back to the people the trust that was given him through the votes.

    keep up senator!

    – Off Topic –

It destroys the flow of discussion. Unless that’s the purpose of your doing that.

    I won’t allow that.
