Showbiz at pulitika

In 2010, the following will be dumped by the people if they run: Miriam Santiago, Enrile, Lapid, Revilla and the rest of those who are identified with Gloria Arroyo. But these veteran politicians would change colors as the election day approaches. So, we need to remind the people and voters about what they are doing at present and the roles they play as early as now. By 2010, these opportunists would be remembered and dumped.

Showbiz and politics indeed mix. Not only are there many celebrities and movie personalities in the Upper and Lower Chamber, aren’t these politicians behaving like showbiz people and the showbiz people behaving like politicians? There are also politics in the movie industry. If you’re close to the producers and directors, you get better deals and roles.

Even before, I’ve been warned by a friend to avoid three types of people: Lawyers, accountants and politicians. I now can add one more…showbiz people.

Since this thread is about showbiz and politics, please be informed that Pete Roa, the husband of Boots Anson Roa, has passed away after a long illness. Our sincere condolence to Boots, one of the nicest and best actresses we ever had. Boots could have been a very good Senator…

    goji, whatabout journalists?

  5. goji goji

Good question, Rego. Some journalists cannot also be trusted.
Many are also liars. What about Pastors, Ministers, Priests, Preachers? And what about some bloggers? He, he.

Ellen, nakalimutan mo si Victor Wood at Tito Sotto.

But even popular surnames, like those who, during their time were celebrated statesmen, this time failed their descendants, again, making simple name recall advantage as not a passport to victory in the Senate.

Look, a Magsaysay, a Recto, and an Osmeña could be considered shoo-ins in past elections. But not in this year’s. They were rejected by the people who have learned to be more selective.

Gone will be the undue advantage of popular celebrities Bong Revilla, Lito Lapid, Noli De Castro even, How they act according to the shenanigans of this bogus regime is how they will be decided upon by voters, AGAIN, in 2010.

But the last election showed that people vote for what politicians can and will deliver..and not just promises, promises promises..wise na ang mga voters kunin ang pera pero iba ang isulat sa ballota…

How true. Ang nakakainis nandaya na nga, nagnanakaw at nangaabuso pa. Gloria and her minions are impostors who lied and cheated themselves to power, abused it and corrupted the democratic process.
In the Philippines we have a constitutional process to remove such cheaters once the votes are counted by filing an election protest to the Electoral Tribunal which is not only an expensive exercise but it takes forever before a decision is made. So what does the majority of the electorate then do if those who gained power through cheating are not only undermining democracy but bleeding the country’s wealth?
Now, should the electorate as well as the country as a whole accept that it was duped into being led by con artists for the next three years, or take actions and force out the pretender with even thru violent means if necessary? If we believe that the idea of being led by scoundrels and thieves are unacceptable and undesirable, then, seeking reform and change even by force may not be the worst possible solution, rather is the only viable one. Let the few good men left in the military to take charge and people will follow.

(funny but real jokes!).

he he he heh. dyok lang po.

Ungas!

May isa ngang ungas sa Tate na pinipilit na taga Brunei daw si Dadong Macapagal in an attempt to establish kinship ties with the King of Brunei. Mga hibang talaga!

    Grrrrrr! Nakakakulo ng dugo!

Ellen is a tough writer. And I really like her lalo na column nya sa tonite. She’s definitely right that “Gloria ay never nagustuhan ng masa” lalo na kaming mga OFW.

    AK-47,

Oh no! I don’t even know the showbiz personalities involved in this joke, besides dry joker ako. heheh! Ang haba noong thread diyan, “who’s afraid of Adel Tamano”, baka gusto mo pang tumawa.

I guess kay Tongue ‘yan. If not, sorry sa writer ha.

  16. BTW, Cesar Montano was supposed to be at the Philippine Fiesta at Yerba Buena Park last Saturday and Sunday. Hindi dumating. Dismaya ang mga pilipino. I did not bother to go dahil hindi ko kilala ang mga artistang pilipino, especially not one willing to kiss the ass and singit of the criminal who should have been in jail by now! Wala sigurong pamasahe. Baka hindi binayaran ni Gloria Pidal!

This one would make you upset again. A letter to Tony Abaya from Columbia:

Manolo Teodoro, who describes himself as a Colombian-Filipino mestizo, is – as far as I know – my only reader in the whole of South America. He says that he used to co-anchor the evening news in Channel 9, with Kathy Santillan. For the past several years he has been news anchor or co-anchor for Bogota’s largest TV network.

He recently sent me the following email,

“Tony, There is a Filipina living in Bogota, Colombia.

“She had made a huge mistake. She believed a Nigerian citizen in Bangkok who convinced her in 2000 to come here to pick up some emeralds to bring back to Asia.

    .

“Emeralds are one of Colombia’s chief legal exports. She accepted the offer and came to Colombia in 2001 . Here she was given a suitcase. In it was a pack of emeralds. What she did not know was that the suitcase also contained two kilos of pure cocaine hidden inside the lining.

“She was caught at the local airport and was detained. Llocal authorities assume guilt and not innocence, and she was incarcerated for four years. She was released a year ago. But her nightmare continues. The local honorary Filipino consulate has done nothing to help — she has cleansed herself of any responsibility, saying the Filipino government helps not

“I have tried to help this woman on my own. Another Pinoy expat has also helped. His name is Tony Carmona. Again, the honorary consulate has done nothing. .

Why am I helping? Tony, I have been a journalist for 22 years and like you, I have developed instincts. I firmly believe she was framed. She is innocent.

“She has two children in Antipolo. She yearns to go home. She lives in the street, literally. Would you know of a Filipino television network who might be interested in a 30-minute or one hour documentary on her saga? If so, would they pay for her ticket home? It’s a hell of a story I have all the resources to produce the docu, shoot in jail, follow her with cameras, and deliver. Google me and you can learn more about my credentials”.

I hope Ricky Carandang or someone else from ABS-CBN reads this. I hope someone from the Department of Foreign Affairs reads this. I hope his cousin, newly appointed Defense Secretary Gilbert Teodoro, reads this. I hope President Arroyo reads this. My Internet server is at present down, but I can be contacted by fax at 824-7642. I will give Manolo’s telephone numbers to whoever wants to help that poor woman.

    And now a funny postscript:

Senator Erap approached his friend and colleague, Senator Orly Mercado, in the Senate Lounge while the latter was having merienda with me, several Congresses ago.

“Orly, hindi ba nag-du-doctorate ka?”, asked Erap.

    “Oo, sa UP”, Orly replied.

“Sa UP”, he added.

Orly was incredulous. How could his beloved alma mater, the State University, do this to him, he thought.

“University of Pangasinan!”, Erap explained, and all of us broke into hilarious laughter.

The person who made Senator Joseph Estrada an honorary doctor was Gonzalo Duque, no less.

    Eat you heart out, Romy.

    …Quoted from Lito Banayo’s column.

    goji,

  20. goji goji

Journalist Lito Banayo was there when Estrada cracked that joke. That’s why he posted it in his recent column. I wish Estrada could write another follow up book to his “Erap-tion”.
