Military officials facing mutiny charges in connection with the February 2006 aborted withdrawal of support from President Arroyo yesterday dared Speaker Jose de Venecia to go beyond “floating” his proposed “all-encompassing” amnesty proclamation.

“Don’t just float it… offer it. Then we will decide,” Maj. Gen. Renato Miranda, former Marines commandant, said after a court martial hearing in Camp Capinpin, Tanay today.

Miranda said they still have to look into the proposed amnesty.

“If he includes us, it will be good for the country and the people,” he said.

De Venecia, in proposing earlier this week the “all-encompassing” amnesty proclamation by President Arroyo, said it would cover only political crimes. He said the “four main subjects” in his proposal are the Moro Islamic Liberation Front, the Moro Islamic Liberation Front, the communist group, “and the elements of the extreme right who have been involved in destabilization.”

Miranda, Brig. Gen. Danilo Lim, former commander of the Army’s Scout Rangers, and 26 other officers are facing mutiny, among other charges, in connection with their plan to march to the Edsa Shrine on Feb. 25 last year and subsequently withdraw support from President Arroyo.

Other officers involved are Colonels Ariel Querubin and Custodio Parcon, both Medal of Valor awardees.

Trixie Angeles, lawyer of Capt. Ruben Guinolbay, said, “My client wants justice, not amnesty. He has done nothing wrong. He should not even be put in jail.”

The officers, who have been in detention for more than a year, expressed doubts over the real objective of the De Venecia proposal.

The officers, who are prohibited from talking with media, gave reporters a piece of paper with the following message:

“State of amnesia? 1. massive corruption 2. 2004/2007 election fraud 3. Mayuga report 4. extra judicial killings 5. massacre of army and marine troops 6. forced disappearances. Who needs amnesty then?” Asked if they were referring to President Arroyo, Querubin just laughed.

The hearing yesterday was adjourned when defense lawyers questioned the legality of having eight members of the panel presiding the court martial. They said military rules allow only seven. Ellen Tordesillas

Right, go for it JDV. Hindi yong dakdak ka ng dakdak.
Now if gloria and jdv are really sincere in their proposed “all-encompassing” amnesty bill, first and foremost, they should exclude themselves from coverage, gloria and her officials during the term of her illegal and stolen presidency. Why, because if she is illegitimate, all her acts and appoinments are also illegitimate. And to undo these, they should not be covered by any form of amnesty.
Oh, OK, it’s just a joke. We know it’s impossible, but what everybody knows is this amnesty proclamation is tailor-made for gloria, her family and their cohorts. That’s what it is all about and no doubt about it.

Who needs amnesty if the supposed beneficiaries didn’t commit any wrongs?! Not the “Men of Honor”, not Trillanes and Magdalo!

Gloria will move hell again to pardon herself via “amnesty me”!

Right, offer the all-encompassing amnesty, let’s see what’s in it!

“State of amnesia? 1. massive corruption 2. 2004/2007 election fraud 3. Mayuga report 4. extra judicial killings 5. massacre of army and marine troops 6. forced disappearances.”

    ***

Ibitin ng patiwarik, walang “amnesty me”!

    Ellen, thanks for the photos.

How young is Maj. Jason Aquino? Maliit pa ang anak ni Col. Orlando de Leon ano?

  5. These soldiers have not actually committed any mutiny. If ever, they have refused to serve a criminal and that is valid! Internationally, such is accepted. Unfortunately, what they have now in the Philippines is a military that is now under the command, hold, and control of a criminal. Labas tuloy, injustice galore!

Tanong, hanggang kailan magtitiis ang mga pilipino?

Ellen, Jason Aquino’s resume speaks volumes of him. Even the incarcerated Magdalo officers are the best in PMA and in their units and so with the incarcerated 28 officers. Very impressive group of officers. They are really the chosen few. No wonder tiyanak and asspweron want these honorable officers out of their way. But the whole AFP know who are for real and who are the rotten officers! There will always be judgement day.

  8. Amen, Rose, Patalsikin Na, Now Na!!!

Ellen, thanks for sharing the pictures..who needs amnesty then? Definitely not them..si GMA pa..and with the help of JdV ang gusto niyang mangyari ay..”malaki ang kasalanan ko sa inyo kaya matawarin ko kayo” Ang tingin ko sa photos parang pinagtatawanan lang nila ang amnesty proposal..halos lahat ay nakangiti..hindi gaya nang pang gulo na naka ngiti kuno pero ang labas ay maasim pa sa batwan..dipped in suka. kaya naman ang mukha ay nakakasuka. BTW talking of JdV..na annul ba o nagdivorce ba sila noong anak ni Former Speaker of the House..Speaker Perez?

  10. rose rose

Sorry folks..ang tagalog ko bako bako gaya ng road from Iloilo to Antique and vice versa. Ang sabi nga ni Ellen according to her colleagues in the media..ang tawag nila ay “Abortion highway.”

  11. goji goji

Rose, if you have difficulty with Tagalog, why not write in simple plain English? I’m sure most of the bloggers here are educated and can read English.

  12. rose rose

goji: thanks will do. Biazon seem to be ok sa salita niya ngayon..re the investigation. I hope he stands firm in his statements..on the other hand Honasan has not said anything?
Enrile is willing to have the investigation in Fort Bonifacio..is he for real? And isn’t Villar a PMA graduate as well..mukha atang..”I hear nothing, and I see nothing” Well if that is so..you are nothing.

  13. rose rose

Re the photos..the ones in blue uniform are they the army? and the ones in fatigue are they the marines? and those in camouflage..are their guards? and Lt. Col. Ukol Paglalga the senior trial judge advocate is he one of those who will try them? You see, what impresses me..is inspite of all their trials their brotherhood is quite strong..

  14. chi chi

    Thanks, Ellen.

Konting panahon na lang iyan si Gloria and she’ll be in the league of Hitler forever, but the “Men of Honor” will be remembered as noble, righteous and courageous.

  15. parasabayan parasabayan

Rose, Villar did not graduate from PMA but he is , I believe, an honorary member or an adoptee of one of the classes in the 70s, I guess.

Natauhan din si Biazon. I hope that all the PMAers in the Senate will bundle together and restore the tarnished image of the highest institution for integrity in the AFP. It is about time!

  16. rose rose

parasabayan: sana nga these PMAers will stick together. But I doubt if Honasan will..either mapapahiya na siya o talagang wala na siyang paki sa Alma Mater niya..iba na ang glue na ginagamit niya. Hindi ba ang gastos ng cadet until he graduates is paid for by the gov’t? Itong si Honasan ay wala talagang utang na loob..deleted na ang code of honor..what a shame..He should be in the Halls of Shame..

  17. goji goji

Parasabayan, Biazon could have returned to his sense after smoking a few sticks of cigar. This man is a known chain smoker in the Senate. But yes, let’s hope he gets serious in the probe. For one thing, Trillanes is his protege. Biazon has been supportive of Trillanes since the guy was jailed.

    Rose,

Ano ang ginagawa niya, magsipsip kay Gloria, that is!

  19. Rose, the one in khaki, mostly are Marine officers. Brig. Gen. Lim, a Scout Ranger, is also in khaki. The ones in dark uniform (I think it’s black) are Rangers. Yes, the ones in camouflage are their security escorts.

  20. seki_95 seki_95
