Mas pinili niya ang magbibingi-an at magbulag-bulagan.

  1. We don’t have a political opposition in this country(i.e,no principled opposition). It’s not like Republicans versus Democrats or Labour versus Conservatives.

What we have is always the “INs versus the OUTs”!

    What’s the difference of GMA/Enrile/Defensor Santiago/Puno
    versus Villar/Cayetano/Madrigal/Legarda/Escuudero?

    Answer:Nada!

WE ,the people, are the opposition!

  2. pechanco pechanco

I bet you GMA will not agree to a snap election.
She is in a no-win situation if she calls for a snap election.

Altho suntok sa buwan, kung mangyayari yan, it’s one solution to end glorya’s continued clinging to her twice-grabbed presidency.

But I doubt if glorya will give way to it. She knows it’s suicidal on her part. Her cohorts will surely tell her don’t take the gambit otherwise, it’s the end for all of them, checkmate! Bunye particularly will come out again with his gasgas nang statement: she has the mandate up to 2010.

Equalizer raised a good point saying we don’t have a genuine political opposition. There are too many parties. Sa party-list groups na lang ang dami. I prefer the old set up with only two parties…Nacionalista and Liberal. This way, walang masyadong balimbing at kanya-kanya.

  5. duren duren

    ?

  6. In the Senate, there are only 3 genuine oppositionists there.

Very unhealthy state of affairs. When there is not enough opposition, political debates (THE debates not just argumenting) become almost futile.

  7. You end up with a de facto authoritarian rule in that case.

  8. vonjovi2 vonjovi2

i agree with you ellen. putting de castro as the caretaker of the philipines if ever and this s a big if gloria ever resigns, is just a slap on the filipino people’s faces. noli has no principle in fighting for the rights of the filipino people. he is an accessory to gloria’s cheating and lying ways by maintaining his silence, not taking a stand ad by not fighting for the truth to come out

  18. pechanco pechanco

Eh kung hindi si Noli sino? He’s the only constitutionally eligible person to replace GMA. No one likes this guy who enriched himself as a media man. Wala naman inatupag iyan kundi mag-golf at travel. But, I think he won’t be worse than GMA. He won’t be more corrupt since GMA is the most corrupt.

You don’t have to be a rocket scientist to know that
diesel is not volatile enough to explode in its liquid state.

But now that scientists from UP are the ones
saying it, maybe the accident angle can now go and die in peace.

    ——————————————————————————————————

    From abs-cbnnews.com

‘Makati blast not caused by methane-diesel mix’

Experts from the University of the Philippines-College of Engineering thumbed down on the theory that the blast last Friday at Glorietta 2 mall in Makati City was caused by chemical and gas leaks.

Chemical engineering professors Ernesto dela Cruz and Wilfredo Jose, faculty members and students said it was unlikely that a leak from the tank containing thousands of liters of diesel at the mall’s basement caused the blast.

The engineers said diesel is not a volatile substance and will not explode as a liquid at any rate. They said it has to be in a gaseous state and has to vaporize before it can explode.

They said that for diesel to vaporize, it has to be heated to up to more than 200 degrees Celsius inside an engine.

So what ever happened to the other so-called Oppositionists! Why so quiet?
If a Snap election is the only way to clean Gloria’s mess, then why not! NDC is surely not the right man to take the place of the FAKE one! A TV commentator didn’t even want to read Noli’s name as the possible successor to the “throne!” Very shameful daw!

Snap Election.Yes! In the first place her mafia gangs personally thinks punggok is an okay cat, there is no way that she can be considered a truly elected president in a real democracy. Our country is in no way, shape, or form a real functioning democracy right now—and maybe its not ever going to be one either. Punggok certainly has no nationwide support, she certainly does not have clear-cut widespread support of the people. That’s why opposition getting so much airplay, as well as inciting the masses. Many see as an authoritarian dictator and military stooge, and it’s not hard to envision why to think that way. Given her situation, what else can she do?

Philippines fall into total chaos, anarchy, or even a theocratic state. Only her acolytes and neocons will continue to support her, in order to keep a lid on the boiling pot. It gets tricky for true support for fake president,

In Pidalism state has no democracy, the army has a special, central place in the ideology of treasure looting. To question that is risky. The corollary is the army is the big brother of illegal tenant in Malacanang; the elected government survives at its sufferance, its performance constantly watched and evaluated by Garci generals. Esperon military has no respect for a civilian rule and feels that democracy does not suit the country. His army is fully politicized and also toes the line of fundamentalists calling of her almighty midget master. There is no general belief around that Punggok has done well and brought some credibility and stability to the nation. But she falsely harbors hope of going down the history of Philippines as another Marcos. There will be always opposition parties craving for a change in the system and demand civilian supremacy. In any democracy Army has to remain on back benches and civilian authority would be supreme. Only under such circumstances democracy would function. But when Army is politicized that is very common military coups are imminent. It is the mental attitude of the people. Thus, the saga of our country till today is a cocktail of misrule, military dictatorships, repression, persecution, and incompetent governing, murder, and mayhem, honor killings of innocents, Basilan wars, and inspiration to terrorism, fundamentalism, hatred and catholic church intolerance.

The bottom line is…we must oust this GMA.

One of these days, Erap shall be pardoned. He would be free of civil and political liability if pardoned. That means he can run for public office again. What if he runs for President again in 2010? The problem is there are many who have plans of running in 2010 among them are Lacson, Legarda, Roxas and Gordon. They won’t like the idea of Erap running. But if Erap really wants to run again, he can pick Lacson as his Vice and then after Erap’s term, Lacson takes over. By the way, there’s one religious group that initiated, worked and mediated for Erap’s pardon. So far, there’s not even one Malacanang man who is against the pardon. Guess who this religious group is?

  26. pnoynrs pnoynrs

i agree with you diego that in gloria we don’t have trust. ganun din sa comelec na dapat nangangalaga sa pasya ng sambayanan pero sila pa ang nangunguna sa pagbabaluktot ng ating mga karapatan

  27. cocoy cocoy

    pechanco;

Hindi na muna pinag-uusapan ang principle ngayon.

Amigo! We should choose our leader not by what status, or wealth that he or she has; but rather we should choose for a leader that mirror the values and moral fortitude that we ourselves as individuals stand for. We should be begin to be truthful to one another by telling a person if he or she is doing the wrong thing, and not compromise our integrity for a government job, we can either cross it together or sink in it together. Which option would you prefer?

Leadership is defined as influencing people to get things done to a standard and quality above their norm. And doing it willingly. They should not fear leadership, but rather embrace it, the role of a leader is to create followers. Those are individuals who are willing to put forth their efforts to support a constructive leader. The task of a leader is to bring about constructive change. Bringing about constructive change is not an easy task, but when the citizens realize that change will better their lives, they are more apt to accept the change. It is then the responsibility of the leader bring about the change in a way that is responsive to the true and long-term needs of the country. A leader is best when people barely know he exists. When his work is done, they will say: we did it our self. This should be the mark for which all aspirant leaders of our country should strive to achieve.

We all know that a typical traditional politician does consider themselves corrupt. Corruption is a serious problem, and should be treated with serious medicine. We are so used to corruption to the point that we have accepted it to be normal behavior in our society. The disease is so ingrained in us that it has taken over every segment of our daily lives. We have sacrificed our values and integrity for the little perks that we often get from practicing corruption.

  28. pnoynrs pnoynrs

very well said cocoy. what good is a leader if he has no principle?

  29. pechanco pechanco

Cocoy, I’m afraid that leader you’re looking for is not born yet. Lahat ng leader may kapintasan. In politics and governance, there’s trade off. Hindi puwede puro straight at prinsipyo lang. Dapat marunong din maglaro ng kaunti. A leader should be flexible not only domestically, but internationally. Kailangan marunong din maglaro with other foreign leaders and government.
Noong ibagsak ni Marcos at Erap, did those groups stick to their principle? The military and the communists forgot all about their principles and conspired to oust the two leaders. If one truly is principled, hindi pumipili ng panahon o pagkakataon iyan. He will continue to stick to his principle no matter what. Where is that person who can truly call himself principled?

  30. pechanco pechanco

By the way, define “principle”. I think only the school principal knows what principle is. Principle sounds like principal.

  31. rose rose

ok ang snap election walang dayaan…at kung gusto talagang mapatunayan ni GMA na ok siya why not an election of President and Vice President? For President: Gloria Arroyo vs. Manny Villar (or Ping Lacson): For Vice President: Noli de Castro vs Loren Legarda (uli) Total the Congress was duly elected..puera lang si Oh Me Gal So Very. No more campaigning..election kaagad..no more vote buying-election kaagad..at tutukan ang Comelec..resign na si Abalos hindi ba? though I am from Antique I am not really for Loren (my choice was for lack of anyone I could think of)kahit sino huwag lang si Brenda…

  32. pechanco pechanco

  33. cocoy cocoy

    pechanco:
Maybe, the leader that we are looking for is not yet born. However,I still believe in God’s miracle.David was choosen by God,to face the battle against army of the Philistines.David indeed victorious, felling Goliath with a stone from his sling and then David brings the head of Goliath to Saul.

Maybe, the David we are looking for is still locked-up by Esperon, but, times maybe will come that he will bring the head of Goliath’s opposite the midget in Malacanang to the altar of freedom.

  34. pechanco pechanco

Are you saying that the next Philippine President should be chosen by God, Cocoy? And how do we know he or she is chosen by God? Velarde, Villanueva, Manalo and other religious leaders claim they were chosen by God to lead their flocks.

  35. cocoy cocoy

    pechanco;
Not those people you have mentioned, they are all morally depraved and God has a curse for them waiting in hell.God performed miracle in Pampanga’s best.Father Panlilio at least has principle on his 500,000 pesos expose, without his revelation of brown envelope given at Malacanang the suhol remain uncovered.Who knows maybe,he’ll run for president if the Angel from heaven will visit him in his bed and telling him that God commanded him to do so!Hehehehe!

  36. TurningPoint TurningPoint

    Pechanco,

If ever, kung sakali, baka sakali, there will be snap election, an Erap vs. glorya in a grudge match is something to watch. Let there be no more campaigning nationwide, just one or two debates over TV and radio and the term will be up to 2010 only.

But that is if Erap is pardon and with no legal impediment to run.

  37. TurningPoint TurningPoint

Punggok agree with the Snap Election,on the condition that she will choose her Presidential opponent.Pakyaw top her list, followed by Lozano and Pulido.

  44. I prefer a revolution if I were you. Snap election is good only during the Marcos regime. At least, there was still some semblance of propriety with those Namfrel people walking out during the counting to show their disgust even when they were unconsciously being used as well by the power mightier than Macoy!!!

It does not have to be bloody in fact. A nationwide strike will be bloody only when they start exploding those bombs that the GLORC is likely to order her general Esperon to explode on their way just like what they wanted to do that the gallant men now in incarceration refused to obey and do.

it has come to a point where people should now be ready to make some sacrifices, and take the risk since lives are being taken anyway indiscriminately to keep the short woman, who wants to be a queen, in her stolen position. Hindi na puede ang lamya-lamya. It’s time to take a more drastic action even at the peril of one’s life.

The protests actually need not be bloody but we know that any peaceful rally against the crooks can be bloody as we had witnessed in May 2001, but let the GLORC take that risk of incurring the ire of other people who should be informed that they should not give any more money to this government because the loans and aids they give are not being used for but against the people. Time for countries in the UN to stop helping this regime financially. Instead, they should declare similar sanctions that the UN is now contemplating to impose on Burma.

We’ll see what the US will do even when China will continue to support the GLORC ala-Darfur!!!

As they say in Tagalog, “Kundi makuha sa santong dasalan, kunin mo sa santong paspasan.”

Yes, why don’t Filipinos let him finish his term. Review what he did in the first two years of his reign, and then, let him continue with what he had started then like the project he had in fact with some international organization regarding making the Philippines become self-sufficient even in rice. A friend involved in that project was telling me in fact of some piece of land in Palawan that was supposed to be used for that project. He now actually wonders who grabbed that piece of land.

Kami nga may project with Erap na hindi natuloy. If he is returned even just to finish his term, we will be willing to continue doing that project with him. At least, Erap has the experience of trying to make both ends meet with little or no aid from foreign countries like those the Great Dorobo has been visiting not just once but many times to get ODA.

I know for a fact Japan’s reluctance to give Erap a state visit and aids that he needed for his projects, but he was able to get by with so little finances.

BTW, someone has told me that the creep wants to visit Japan this November para mangutang na naman. I have not received any confirmation on this yet, but if she is planning to come here again, we surely will conduct a much bigger protest against her visit.

Please!

  46. jab-straight jab-straight

Snap elections? We are all witnesses to the destructive consequences na talaga namang wala yatang katulad (no need to enumerate dahil alam at danas na naman ng lahat).

My opinion goes to the old line that we have to “correct the original mistake” and “reactivate the constitutional clock of Erap”.

It is true that Erap may not have “it” to implement reforms but I believe that during the process the future leaders that we deserve may surface and prove themselves before us. Ngayon, kung ayaw na talaga ni Erap, aba’y better…it would be the best time to hold snap elections.

  47. A leader is best when people barely know he exists. When his work is done, they will say: we did it our self. This should be the mark for which all aspirant leaders of our country should strive to achieve.

Naglalakihan nga ang mga billboards with their pictures, self-praises and all na akala mo talaga sila ang gumastos when in fact kalahati ng perang binigay for the completion of their projects napunta na sa bulsa nila.

It’s obscene in fact, and worse is when the projects have been suggested merely to get fundings from overseas with those involved in the deal getting their respective commissions as in the case of the ZTE/NBN deal na kasama pa iyong promotor na civilian, the Fatso, who pretends to be innocent and holy and trying hard to be by claiming kinship with some Catholic saint!!! Ewwwwww!!! Nakakakilabot!

  48. jab-straight jab-straight

TAMA KA, YSTAKEI…PATALSIKIN NA NGAYON SI GLORIA AT IBALIK ANG NORMALCY AT KATINUAN SA GOBYERNO. IF WE NEED TO FIGHT FOR IT, SO BE IT…NO PAIN -NO GAIN.

Fr. Panlilio? I reserve further comment about him, Cocoy. What makes you think he’s good as President? What makes you think he’s chosen by God? First, he said he didn’t believe it was a bribe. Then later, he said he believes it’s a bribe. He said he didn’t know what was inside? He claimed the bag was only given to him by Gov. Mendoza? How could Panlilio now say he didn’t know what was inside? May mga inconsistencies sa mga sinabi niya. Like what I said, inunahan lang niya tayo at ang media dahil alam niyang puputok. The priests have 6th sense. Back to presidency, Panlilio has to clean up his province first before thinking of the presidency if that’s what you suggest, Cocoy. Malakas pa rin ang jueteng sa Pampanga. Hindi pa niya magalaw sina Pineda. This I can tell you…no matter how good and holy one is, he cannot stand the heat and dirt of the politics. Let me say again that Isabela’s Gov. Padaca used her “righteousness” slogan to be elected. Wala na bang jueteng sa Isabela?

  50. TurningPoint TurningPoint

Snap elections is our topic at ayon sa may-ari ng blog, suportahan natin ang panawagan ni Sen. Trillanes.

Kaliskisan natin.

Erap Estrada still emerged with the undisputed biggest margin with JDV coming a poor second. This time around, name recall, popularity and coupled with being persecuted, prosecuted and jailed for 6 long years, Erap has the edge. Based on the surveys conducted several times making Erap still on top in public perception, alikabok ang kakanin ni glorya.

  51. pechanco pechanco

Sino ba ang ayaw ng snap election? Lahat tayo. Kahit sinong lumaban kay GMA basta patas at walang daya mananalo. But will she agree to a snap election? The answer is a big NO. She has learned the lesson from history. She’s not stupid to follow what Marcos did in agreeing to a snap election.

  52. Totie Totie

Kaibigan Pechanco at Cocoy: Maki sabad na nga ako.

Snap Election: Why limit it to the President, why not all levels after all the nation needs new mandate. If we have to spend, spend it wisely. Changing the President will not cure the present situation.

Presidentiables: Definitely not Ping, I dont think he will be a good president. Whats important to Ping is his objectives, if he agreed with FPJ and set aside his Presidential ambition for a while, wala sana tayo sa ganitong problema dito sa kay bansot. ERAP if and when he will be given the chance, I strongly believe that he has the ability and the political will to correct his past mistake, and besides he knows that he will be under the microscope.

Think about it simplicity of Magsaysay, the wit of Marcos, the Charm of Imelda, the masa appeal or Erap and totally disregard any attributes from Gloria.

  53. ronnie80 ronnie80

    GOV PANLILIO FOR PRESIDENTTTTTTTTTttttttttt…

  54. chi chi

Ayaw kong pagtiyagaan si Vice Kabayad, accomplished s’ya ni Gloria sa katiwalaan kasi palaging his lips are sealed!

    Snap election, iyan ang tama!

  55. chi chi

  56. martina martina

Kung si Kabayad Noli lamang ang ipapalit, ‘wag na lang, better the devil we know. That would only be a waste of time.

  59. pechanco pechanco

Let me tell you why I don’t quite agree to a spiritual leader becoming a President and running the country. Halimbawa na lang si Manalo ng INK ang maging Presidente, can we expect him not to be bias? Of course he will take good care more of his INK members and treat Catholics as second citizens. Halimbawang si Bro. Mike Velarde ang maging President, would he not take good care more of his El Shaddai members and all the other El Shaddai properties. What if a priest (even former) become the President, baka madagdagan ang mga Fiesta at Catholic holidays sa bansa.

For instance, if there’s a company or business that violated a law or someone complained against a company or a person, Noli’s staff (with his blessing of course) would approach the respondent and demand pay-off. Since Noli became Senator and then now Vice President, walang ginagawa iyan. You can see him playing golf with gambling lords most of the time or traveling abroad. He keeps a low profile, though. Less talk, less mistakes.

As to your question who I think is the best qualified to be President, well…hindi pa ipinanganganak.

  62. rose rose

ok si Erap pero if he wins against GMA for three years lang ang term..and then totohanan ng election. Ang unconditional pardon na sinasabi niya is just like admitting guilt..pero hindi mo rin siya masisi pagod na siya after all 71 years old na siya at I wonder how his health is..snap election..no campaigning..no billboards..isang question sino ang gusto ng mga tao?..no vote buying..expenses should only be limited to actual election expenses..sueldo sa mga poll watchers, etc.

  63. Ano ba kayo? Doon sa ipinakita noong pari, I don’t see why he should be pushed to run for president. Not worth it, I bet you!

  65. Frankly, speaking, ayoko noong pari for president after what he showed he is NOT capable of doing against evil!!! Pwe!!! Tao rin pala siya!!!

Reminds me of a friend who called me “unggoy” before that I almost got offended.

What Gov. Panlilio must do is to clean up his backyard first before aiming for higher position. Trillanes..okay…but he’s not eligible yet due to his age. Presidential candidate should be 40 and above, I think.

  67. rose rose

hindi ako believe sa pari take the case of Aristide..Jesuit pa ata..nagimprove ba ang Haiti?
Kung sinasabi ni Totie..”simplicity of Magsaysay..” mayroon ako in mind pero bata pa to be a candidate at nasakulungan..si Erap is a good one to run..pero three years lang..till 2010. That will give the people time to think seriously..walang bilihan..

Kung sabagay, Kabayag Noli’s silence of all these unscrupolous scandals and crime is the least thing he could do because he was one of the beneficiaries of the 2004’s Fraudulent Election. In other words, Kabayag Noli wanted to hit 2 birds in 1 stone.

I agree the way you define Leadership which is an influencing…norm. You have also the line…bringing out constructive change. But sad to say this constructive change is not happening in the present administration but instead it brought us a desctructive changes which give us a divided nation. We must learn from this lesson that a good leader should be famous, came from a great leaders’s side and have have a PH or DR degree from a well known Unvirsities/Colleges abroad (just like Glue-r-yuck) but instead he/she must have the ability to gain respect and be respected from the society regardless of what he/she is

The Equalizer, I agree with you that the Philippines does not have “a political opposition in this country(i.e,no principled opposition).” (October 23rd, 2007 at 12:22 am).

When Erap asked/requested or whatever for some sort of a Presidential pardon, I was convinced that the whole brouhaha of Pro-Gloria vs Pro-Erap groups was all a creation of Gloria & her spinmeisters. What is real is either one is Pro-Gloria or Anti-Gloria. There really is no middle ground now especially after the ZTE Broadband thingy, the Brown Bag Briberies that happened in the Malacanan. Come to think of it, Erap was out of the equation the moment he took the barge & left the Palace. Keeping the Pro-Gloria vs Pro-Erap groups alive was part of Gloria’s political survival.

To me, the Glorietta 2 bombing unmasked Gloria & narrowed down things to Pro-Gloria & Anti-Gloria. And so finally, there is a viable plan – Snap Elections !

I think real opposition is found not among the elected officials but in the voters. The voters elected some senators on the basis of their platform “opposition” but once again, most of these senators disappointed us — they never meant to be in the Opposition.

It’s up to the people to oppose — can no longer trust our those we voted to represent us, many of them.

  115. TurningPoint TurningPoint

With the multi party system we have now in the Philippines, it is correct to say that it’s the people who is the true opposition. Take note that incumbents are affiliated with different parties, may kanya-kanya silang partido.

FVR has his Lakas-Tao with few members. When he won, nakipag-coalesce sa kanya ang Laban ng Partidong Pilipino, naging Lakas-Laban sila ang gained the majority. Erap has even a smaller group with his Partido ng Masang Pilipino and when he won, hindi magkamayaw ang mga sumama sa kanya like Drilon, Villar, Enrile, Angara, Miriam, etc. It’s the realities of Philippine politics at the moment.

The people is the only strong opposition as we have seen in the last elections. And we’re glad, the bloggers, the cyberspace warriors especially in Ellenville, are among the rabid advocates of good governance siding with the true oppositionist, the people.

  116. Me, I can’t vote because as a Japanese national, I am not allowed to have dual citizenship but I mobilized the OAV in Japan.

At least, dito sa Japan, iyong barkada ko at ako, we try our best to make sure that the ones the criminal has appointed to man the election here cannot and will not be able to cheat. Walang tulugan!

Enough is enough!

Lahat kayo subject yourself to the fresh mandate. We dont need the congress to pass more laws, we already have so much, so pwede tayong mag exist without them for a year.

Yung mga korte na walang silbi dahil ineffective na because of excessive politicking dissolve and replace, masyado ng compromised ang mga ito. Yung mga may record na Ambassador, recall. Total overhaul. Six years term is too long make it shorter – 4 years is enough.

  118. Four years? Totie, the criminal has been there since 2001 illegally!!!

    Patalsikin na, now na!

  119. Totie Totie

We proved it over and over again, it is not the President per se that is the problem but rather the system. Bulok ang sistema.

When Marcos was in power, siya ang contrabida, so sinipa si Marcos, pumalit si Cory, may nangyari ba?,

Rather, the nation felt the effect of his misdoing after the fact.

  120. I thought Erap would show more bravado by refusing any pardon from the criminal, but reports say he is accepting pardon by the criminal that contrary to his lawyers’ request I doubt would ever be unconditional, etc.

Wala talaga siyang kadala-dala ano? Wala rin palang yagbols!!! Matapang lang pala siya sa pelikula although I have not seen any of his movies except for the documentary that the criminal would not allow to be shown in the Philippines.

    Kawawang Pilipinas!

  121. Totie Totie

    Ystakei,

Agree “Now Na”. At least no guilty feelings on my side for I did not rejoice when they proclaimed her as the illegal President. Right from day one when they walked out during the impeachment, I told my self, THE END.

  122. Problema, Totie, ang laki ng pinagbago ng mga pilipino—lalong nawalan ng moralidad at delikadeza with a criminal running the government like hell!!!

Both the system and the GLORC suck. Kaya nga sabi ko, palabasin si Sonny Trillanes para makagawa siya ng batas that will change all—hindi lang titino iyong mga kurakot kundi iyon lang mga matitino ang makakaupo!!! In fact, it’s now high time to teach Filipinos more sense of responsibility. Hindi na puede iyong choice between two evils, o iyong parang trial and error o kahit na iyong parang hit and run procedure especially since 1986.

    Patalsikin na, now na!

  123. Totie Totie

I believed Erap already reached the point where he realized there is no way to win the case for no lower court will reverse what the Supreme Court position. In a way, good tactical move for him. Now, if he is pardoned unconditionally without admitting any guilt, this is when he can be dangerous. It will be better for him to do his fight outside and in the open.

  124. chi chi

So, walang mawawala sa kanya, he has everything to gain.

    Pechanco,

    I’m abroad but I voted.

—-Kaya pala (a)broadminded ka nasa abroad ka. I never voted ’cause I’m under aged.

The Philippine Embassy and Consulate are all under GMA’s government.

  126. Totie Totie

We dont know, but according to my friend in New York, they watched the actual canvassing and it appears that it was done properly.

I know for a fact I have Sonny in my list but not Honasan.

Four years lang ang term and then kung okay ang performance extended for another 2 para makatipid ng gastos, but if we have a real electronic voting system, we can have election monthly of weekly if they want.

  127. On the other hand, Totie, like what I wrote in another loop, Japan and the Philippines had practically the same beginning with the US supervising their nation building and rebuilding after WWII with laws patterned after those of the US.

I don’t adhere to the fallacy that Japan is sweet apple and the Philippines a rotten sour orange. In fact, the Philippines had a better foundation being a Christian country for over 400 years while Japan was closed, though not totally, to the rest of the world. The Philippines was supposed to be more westernized and sophisticated as a matter of fact.

Ang kaso, pinamayani kasi ang utak alipin sa mga pilipino, and the gap between the rich and poor encouraged even by the Americans so that the US occupation of the Philippines was in fact filled with agrarian uprisings and strikes especially in the 20’s and 30’s, and saw the birth of such groups as the Sakdal. In fact, the US was wise to exile a lot of the rebels to Hawaii, and make Rizal a national hero, because Rizal actually did not support the KKK.

Japan developed better because the Japanese knew who they were while the Filipinos, suffering from some kind of colonial mentality, thought they would be better off identifying themselves as Fil-Ams!!! In fact, that was the concept about Filipinos over here in the 60’s. Nabago na nga lang when the Japayukis started flocking in.

Tapos si bugaw iyan ang No. 1 export, mga pilipino, for her human trafficking program!!! Yuck!!!

  128. Totie Totie

How we wish that election is like the early American Election. Voting was done in public no private booth, parang election ng elementary, casting and canvassing at the same time. Sigurado walang flying voters at walang dagdag bawas. Doon makikita ang may balls.

  129. Totie Totie

    Ystakei:
I thought that in the Asian Marshall Plan (kung meron man) Philippines right from the beginning was destined in the book of the Americans as the primary source of raw materials. How sad to think that of all the Asian countries, the Pinoys fought side by side with the Americans and yet, we were treated like this. For the US to take advantage of the nations rich resources, they have to apply the divide and conquer approach which sadly up to now exist.

Could the difference in US treatment due to the fact that even before the War, Japan already have established business relations with US while Philippines was still a developing agricultural nation? That there were big Japanese companies with substantial loan exposures with US firms?

  130. Yes, those were the days!!! I remember going with my mother when she went to the polls to vote. Over at our place, walang military, just some plainclothes policemen to keep peace and order outside of the polling places.

Then, at night we would go and watch the counting of votes at the town’s community hall, or be plastered to the radio and wait for the announcement of the winning candidates. We would clap for every vote to our favorite candidates. It was fun! Ngayon, takot ang umiiral!!! Kawawa iyong mga nababaril pa sa canvassing like those young college students murdered in Bicol during the last election.

    Nakakakulo talaga ng dugo!

  131. Could the difference in US treatment due to the fact that even before the War, Japan already have established business relations with US while Philippines was still a developing agricultural nation?

I don’t think so. There were no pre-WWII deals, but the Americans had to patronize Japan so that it could pay its debts to the US, and so that it would not turn to Russia or China versus the US.

Remember, China and Russia are nearer to Japan, and with the communists being free and strong as a political group over here, the US could/cannot take chances but try to keep US-Japan friendly ties on equal footing as demanded by the people of Japan unlike the master-slave relationship between the US and the Philippines even now!!! 🙁

  132. Totie Totie

Absolutely no pre-WWII, deals there was no deal, however it was logical for the US to rebuild Japan aggressively so they can repay the huge US loans. That we both agree. Besides, guilty feelings din ng mga Puti sa Horoshima plus off course US national interest.

Master Slave – force of habit. They never looked at the Philippines in equal footings. Ginagatasan lang ang ating inang bayan.

  133. Ginagatasan lang ang ating inang bayan.

Pero sabi nga, it takes two to tango.

Kaya ayon, for sale ang approvals and principles.

  135. ronnie80 ronnie80

ang dami nating opinion and i respect all of that…pero sino talaga ang magandang tumakbo for president? SINO?

  136. Totie Totie

    Ronnie,
Sana di na seasoned politician, three more years sigurado merong lalabas dyan out of no where. Di pwede and politician.

  137. Phil Cruz Phil Cruz

Why does the Comelec announce its intended arrest of Bedol before they arrest him?

The police and the military are guilty of the same stupidity, too.

The targets of the arrest or of the operations get forewarned. Moronic.

  138. Phil,

Maybe that’s their intention — to warn Bedol so the fellow could get on a Cesna and go to Sabbah.

  139. The targets of the arrest or of the operations get forewarned. Moronic.

Point is why is the Comelec the one making the arrest, and not the police on order of the court? Diyan sira ang Pilipinas. Ang daming overlapping of functions. Ang labo talaga. It’s a waste of public funds as a matter of fact.

  140. Totie Totie

    Ystakei,
    “Ang daming overlapping of functions.”

By-design by those stupid law makers and implemented by the equally stupid who knows who, with the belief that those laws or processes were made exclusively for them. Kaya when they are long ang gone, the stupidity becomes so obvious kasi wala ng protector.

  141. magdiwang magdiwang

un supervised care taker government muna bago mag snap election kundi darayain lang tayong muli katulad ng pandaraya ni gma noong 2004 and 2007 elections.
