Fil-Chinese Federation protests Apostol statement; Apostol says sorry

On the eve of the publication of a statement protesting the Sergio Apostol’s racial slur by the Filipino-Chinese Chamber of Commerce and Industry that counts among its members the Lucio Tan group of companies, the chief f presidential legal counsel apologized to the Chinese Filipino community after the racial slur he made against Rodolfo “Jun” Lozada Jr., the Senate’s star witness in its investigation into the allegedly overpriced national broadband network (NBN) project of the government.

In a statement, Apostol referred to his remark Friday against Lozada, a son of a Chinese immigrant, as an “emotional outburst.”

“This refers to my statement uttered in an emotional outburst in reaction to Mr. Jun Lozada’s implication of the First Gentleman to an alleged crime based on what is, at best, hearsay evidence. Be that as it may, I sincerely apologize to our hardworking and law-abiding Filipino Chinese who may have been offended by my unintended slur,” Apostol said.

  1. Fernando Gan, secretary-general of the Federation of Filipino-Chinese Chambers of Commerce and Industry, Inc. (FFCCCII),to Apostol said: “Your statement that since he is a probinsyanong intsik who deserved to be deported immediately, smacks of racial discrimination. We are expressing our strongest indignation over this racial slur.”

  5. Ganoon lang ba? Bakit may sinabi bang masama si Lozada for him to feel indignation and utter such unforgivable racial slur? Bakit masama bang magsabi ng totoo that Lozada did?

Nope, I won’t accept wetness’ flimsy excuse! Kundi pa nag-ingay si Ms. Ang-See and company, mag-i-excuse ba siya? I doubt!

Do something nice for the filipino chinese community. Pwedeng sabihin kahit ano, gawin kahit ano and still gets away with it.

    To: Sergio Apostol

I have no doubt the hardworking and law-abiding Filipino Chinese heard your hurtful and johnny-come-lately statements!

Since you hold court in the Palace, you are in a position of power and influence, isn’t it?

Will you also be “equally” vocal in dressing down the freeloading and law-breaking whoever they are?

Thank you for your equitable distribution whatever they are!

  8. chi chi

The more you talk, the better for us…you hasten the downfall of your president!

  9. Chabeli Chabeli

Why did Bunye read Apostol’s I-Am-Sorry statement if he (Apostol) was sincerely sorry for his racial slur ?

It seems to me that Apostol is only sorry because of the strong backlash from the Tsinoys & their strong support for Mr Jun Lozada. Other than that, Apostol’s “emotional outburst” was an expression of his true feelings.

There’s nothing to forgive Apostol for.

  10. chi chi

Magpatiwarik s’ya, forgive ko s’ya! heheh!

  11. Diego K. Guerrero Diego K. Guerrero

It’s too late the hero. The damage is done. Why only now? Apostol’s “emotional outburst” is another lapse of judgment. Is he really sincere? Apostol should say sorry personally in public and observe his body language.

  12. Elvira Sahara Elvira Sahara

The DAMAGED has been done, Apostol! Talagang lowyer ka nga ng mga BUWAYA!
    Ikaw ang dapat ng ilibing!

  13. Is that so, Chabeli? It was not Apostol who said “Sorry” directly to the offended Tsinoys?

Then, hindi iyan totoo. Kakasuka! o.O

strangely enough, i still like the guy – i cant forget his “madam wetness” days he he he, i laughed a lot then.

  15. hawaiianguy hawaiianguy

Talagang apostol ng kadiliman itong mamang ito. Tama ka happy, he’s really amusing.

    May pinagmanahan, ngising doggie!

  20. rose rose

true to his master, the genie apostol said “I am sorry” but how many times did his master say “I am sorry”?
but I am not surprised that he will say what his master tells him..takot na siya at “wetting” sa kanyang pag(n)talon..

  21. rose rose

cocoy: naunahan mo ako sa pagsabi na wetting na siya..nag blackout dito for a few minutes while I was writing and deleted ang sinulat ko..

  22. rose rose

I can’t believe na si Mr Wetness was #7 sa 1958 Bar Exams..

To top it all, dagdagan natin ng isang “kuliling” Miriam Santiago, ayos na ang EK!

  25. Gabriela Gabriela

Pimentel at Sen. Trillanes.

  26. Elvira Sahara Elvira Sahara

    Let’s all watch their show!

  27. Rose: I can’t believe na si Mr Wetness was #7 sa 1958 Bar Exams..
    *****

Remember the cheating in the nurses’ board exam? Yuck! Sukasukasukasukasukasuka!

  28. rose rose

grizzy: I remember in mid 60’s nagkaroon ng leakage ang bar exams..and if I am not mistaken one of the Justices was Claudio Teehankee..and at that time sa College of Law ng Ateneo de Manila ang mga kilalang estudiantes na makikita mo sa canteen or at mass in the chapel in the morning ay sila Sabio, Azcuna, Garchitorena. Fr. Bernas..Alam ko ito kasi I was a student sa Graduate Business School ng AdM at the time…sa CPA exams naman mayroon din! ang sabi nga sa akin sa editorial ng Filipino Reporter when I cried foul sa election ng isang Filipino org. dito sa JC..”never mind the cry of cheating, it is a Filipino way of Life.”

Yuck talaga! x-(

  30. Golberg Golberg

Hay Rose! What happened to Mr. Wetness’s brains?
Looking at left and right part of his brains; on the left part there is nothing right; on the right part, there is nothing left!

  31. broadbandido broadbandido

    Nice one, Goldberg! hahaha

  32. rose rose

Golberg: thanks now I understand..I asked the same question
of Atty. Bautista’s brain kasi ang sabi ni DKG Atty Bautista is a topnotch lawyer..ganoon din nga seguro ang nangyari..ang this could be true to all the brilliant lawyers in GMA’s administration..Brenda, siraulo, etc. etc. etc..it is a puzzlement..ang sabi ng King of Siam..and to their queen these brilliant lawyers there chorus line is
    ohwatanassiam..

  33. Brownberry Brownberry

Mafia usually employs the best. From the best lawyers to best doctors. That’s what I mean…lawyers are good in twisting words and facts. They are trained to manipulate the laws and lie. And Atty. Bautista is one good example.

i asked our singaporean guest once what he thought of the racial slur against pinoys in the show desperate housewives, and how he would react if it was directed towards singaporeans

    – his answer was

“so what? we dont waste our time on what people say we are, because we know who we are and time is too precious to be wasted in this non – issue”

Of course we’re sensitive to such. Your boss GMA is not sensitive too because she claims to be related to many races.

  41. Brownberry Brownberry

I also noticed that, Erwin. But I think he has a reason for telling the whole world that he has Chinese roots. Maybe to get the sympathy of the Tsinoy Community which we all know is quite influential. He may even know how to speak Chinese. If you listen to what he often says, mahal niya ang Pilipinas at ayaw niyang umalis ng bansa.
