There are now 88.5 million Filipinos

From GMA News:

The Philippines’ population rose at a faster rate than its Asian neighbors, increasing demand for food, especially rice, a staple consumed by Filipinos as well as half of the world’s people.

In a report, the government said that the number of Filipinos grew nearly 16 percent to 88.57 million as of August 2007 from 76.50 million in May 2000.

By 2009, with a projected population of 92.22 million, the Philippines will consume 9.75 million metric tons of rice, higher than the expected 9.56 million metric tons to be consumed by Filipinos this year.

In 2000, with a 76.5 million population, each Filipino consumed 103.16 kilograms of rice annually, bringing total consumption to 7.89 million metric tons.

The population surge mean “more mouths to feed,” said Augusto Santos, Acting Director General of the National Economic and Development Authority (NEDA).

Santos, who heads the Philippines’ socioeconomic planning body, said the population growth from 2006 to 2007 is slightly faster than the annual increase for the past seven years. The figure is higher than the government’s target of 1.95 percent up to 2010, he added.

Despite the increasing number of Filipinos, Santos said the government is still not planning to alter its population policy, which is limited to promotion of natural family planning and responsible parenthood.

The reported population surge may also reduce the country’s grain inventories. Although agriculture officials have dispelled reports of a possible rice shortage, more Filipinos may also mean an increased dependence on countries, which produce the grain.

Primarily sourced from the United States, China, Vietnam and Thailand, world prices of rice have reached historic highs since current demand is not expected to meet supply anytime soon.

Demand for the grain has also risen ever since the Philippines, the world’s largest rice importer, have announced plans to import as much as 2.2 million metric tons this year, considered the largest ever in ten years.

Compared with its Southeast Asian peers, the Philippines’ population growth rate was much higher compared to Malaysia, which had a 2.1 increase from 2001 to 2006 and Vietnam with 1.4 percent hike during the same period. The population of Indonesia and Thailand posted a growth rate of 1.3 and 0.8 percent respectively.

But the 2.04 percent population growth is a slowdown from the 2.34 percent average in 1990-2000. It was also lower than the 88.71 million projection earlier made by the government.

“[This population growth rate] was the lowest annual population growth rate recorded for the Philippines since the 1960s,” the NSO said in its report.

And it is expected to ease further in the coming years with average annual population growth for the period 2005-2010 projected at 1.95 percent, based on the 2000 Census of Population and Housing.

The official population count was released by President Gloria Macapagal Arroyo through Proclamation No. 1489. – Patricia de Leon with reports from Robert JA Basilio Jr, GMANews.TV

  2. chi chi

Wow! Pinas, the world’s largest rice importer and this year’s import will be the largest in ten years!

One thing that we should not take for granted anymore is the great fault of the church, natural production of babies to a rabbit cultured nation. Down with the church this time!

  4. chi chi

No family planning for the church, baka kumonti ang mag-aabuloy sa simbahan.

Below is Sen. Chiz Escudero’s comment on charges filed against former DOJ Sec. Nani Perez:

Sen. Francis Escudero said Perez should be charged with plunder.

“Bakit sa kaso ng dating kaalyado ni Pangulong Arroyo extortion lamang at simpleng graft ang kaso. Sa kaso ni dating Pangulong Estrada ang pinag-usapan dun jueteng money, ni hindi pondo ng gobyerno,” Escudero said.

“Hindi ba dapat ang desiyon pareho din, klaro na may double standard, klarong may pinapaboran at klarong may tinitingnan ang Ombudsman at hindi pantay ang kanilang pagtingin,” he said.

Don’t blame the church. Dapat na lang sabihin nila siguro sa mga churchmembers nila to be more careful and responsible in making babies.

  7. chi chi

    Yuko,

Are you aware of the Catholic church policy on family planning?

Heavy influx of overseas workers may be a factor for 2.04 percent slowed population growth. It has nothing to do with Gloria-R.C. Church population control policy.

  10. Yup, I’ve read about it. Nothing different in fact with the policy of our church that counsels responsible parenthood, and recommends the church old Bible policy of no spilling sperms! 😛

Karamihan pa on welfare.

Medyo secrete kasi bawal for ethical reason. Parusa siguro sa kanila dahil dito abortion is legal maliban na lang kung malaki na ang fetus at pati doctor puedeng kasuhan ng murder unless mapatunayang for medical reason.

  12. bitchevil bitchevil

Chi, I think the church (Catholic Church) policy on Family Planning is natural method or popularly called rhythm method. The church based its teaching on the law against abortion and the Book of Genesis that states “Increase and multiply…” But what the church fails to teach is even if God tells us to increase and multiple and fill the earth; He also teaches us to subdue it”. That’s mentioned in the above verse. Wittingly or unwittingly, the church evades that word “subdue”. Subdue means to control or overcome. When there’s no fetus yet or living being inside the mother’s womb, it cannot be considered as abortion. Preventing conception is not wrong. It’s alright to prevent a baby from becoming a living being. That means contraceptives like condom should be allowed and even encouraged. If the mother has conception…weeks and months in her womb, then the baby inside must be allowed to live and become another God’s creature. Any attempt to prevent it would be considered as abortion. And in the Bible, abortion is murder.

  13. The country will never get out of the economic doldrums at the rate people produce like rabbits. Where is the govt gonna get the money to be able to feed all those additional mouths to feed? Or is government encouraging the rabid (not only rapid but rabid) growth of population in order to send off the produce like cattle and chattel to distant lands and unchartered territories to send dollars? Criminals all of them, utter lowly criminals!

No need for abortion — heck, that’s supposed to be an even worse sin and producing lil rabbits by the dozen is a crime when parents can’t even feed or clothe them properly; why not opt for a good old fashioned birth control/family planning thinggy?

Government should instruct whichever agencies are in charge of social welfare services to distribute condoms at the very least. Bloody hell! This government has got to get up from its backside and start cracking!!!!

Government must put more means to educate people, married or unmarried, single or double or treble…

Never mind the priests and their supestitious rituals! Just goddamn stop producing rabbits!

this is a very big problem for us today and the future of our beloved country. the church now has to adopt measures on how to solve this growing problem hindi yung puro nila tinutulan ang mga panukalng ginagawa ng mga ibang mambabatas natin para matugunan ito. nalibot ko ang halos malalaking syudad sa bung pilipinas at talagang napakaraming tao everywhere pero walang trabaho. in the visayas and mindanao area napakaraming mga babaeng pumapasok sa mga trabahong ayaw nila ngunit wala silang magawa para lang masuportahan at makatulong sa pamilya nila. ngaun nasaan ang gobyerno ni gma na puro kasinungalingan ang pinapalabas sa media at hindi nya tinutugunan ang problemang ito.

  15. I remember when I was a kid growing up in the Philipppines. All the neighbors, rich and poor, averaged 6 children per family, but no one was complaining. “Cheaper by dozen” was the rule of the day then.

Mine in fact was that big. We were ten children in the family, and why my mother did not pursue her teaching profession early as soon as she got her brood. My father would not allow it as he was a firm believer that women should stay at home. That must have given him a lot of incentive to do what was right for his family.

In short, it actually all boils down to being responsible parents, not the kind of parents, who cannot care less if their children die or commit crimes overseas as long as they can remit money to the Philippines for their livelihood!

  16. bitchevil bitchevil

I think you hit the exact term…Responsible parents…that’s what we all need.

  17. During a visit to Payatas in 1998, I actually asked one of the residents there why they would not use condoms to avoid having big families. His answer was a practical, “Wala nga kaming perang pambili ng pagkain namin, condom pa. Kung bibigyan kami baka puede pa!”

On the other hand, I doubt if the church will distribute such because of the Biblical taboo on spilling sperms! 😛 Read the story Genesis Chapter 38 9-10.

  18. Sinabi mo pa, Bitchdevil. This reminds me of the Filipino victim of a serial killer in Japan recently. According to reports, the mother of the Filipina came to Japan as a Japayuki, and married a Japanese for the visa. When she did, she sent for her children by Filipinos to be adopted by her Japanese husband, including the murder victim who came to Japan when she was 9. But she was a good mother according to the neighbors, for the children are left on their own at nights, and there were times when the children would light candles because the mother forgot to pay the bills for electricity.

But whether it is a curse of not, the daughter likewise became a Japayuki, met her lover last year, cohabited with him in a posh condominium, and ended up being cut up by the freak, who had gotten used to chopping up his victims, cook them and keep their teeth and bones to chew maybe like chewing gums when he felt like it. Ewwwwwww!

  19. Correction:…But she was far from being a good mother…

    Grizzy & DKG,
Thats a stage show where the audience participate on stage or in the little cubicles. Most actors are japayukis in their birthday suits. I still think religion is the culprit. Where are they? Ask me and I’ll tell you where they are.

  21. Don’t Pinoys realise that it takes money, tons of money and lots and lots of TLC to raise kiddies.

Pinas is virtually half starved already as it is. So how do you solve a problem that’s inherently sex hot Pinoy? Pinoys’ thinking prowess seems to be found most of the time in their crotches? To be quite honest, I don’t know the answer… short of castrating them, one solution perhaps is to supply them with condoms to use whenever the urge or the animal instinct to splurge their testosterones (no, they ain’t called testosterones but never mind — who cares?) or lil tadpoles get the better of their wallets or their malnuorished brains!

Condoms should be de rigeur in a country that has no means of taking care of its lil future Pinoys. Either that or vasectomy!

  22. On the other hand, buti nga nakaka-produce pa ng bata ang mga pilipino. Over here, the Japanese are facing extinction with less and less Japanese being born each year. There is in fact a maternity hospital near my house. It just recently shut down because there are no people going there to deliver babies anymore. Ganoon katindi. Curse siguro for the abortion, etc. being tolerated here. May vending machine nga for condoms parang sigarilyo or soft drinks! 😛

  23. Valdemar:

Iyong nakita mo baka binabae! 😛

I know one who loves to show his newly created boobs. Shocking! Sabi ko sa kaniya, real women won’t do what he does in public.

Iyong mga strip gekijo dito where they do those stage acts, mukhang wala na. Sabi nga, a thing of the past na! I went on a raid as an interpreter with the police to a strip joint, though. Mga kana ang nagsasayaw, and they reminded me of Demi Moore in “Striptease.”

Merong cubicle as you say above for private viewing. The police suspected the women of engaging in prostitution likewise, and violating the new law banning human trafficking.

  24. Truth is we don’t talk about rejection of children being sent by God above to members of our church who actually average about 6 children per family. Wala namang problema especially when they follow the admonition of our church leaders. May proclamation nga kami on family and it goes like this:

The Family: A Proclamation to the World
We, the First Presidency and the Council of the Twelve Apostles of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, solemnly proclaim that marriage between a man and a woman is ordained of God and that the family is central to the Creator’s plan for the eternal destiny of His children.

All human beings—male and female—are created in the image of God. Each is a beloved spirit son or daughter of heavenly parents, and, as such, each has a divine nature and destiny. Gender is an essential characteristic of individual premortal, mortal, and eternal identity and purpose.

In the premortal realm, spirit sons and daughters knew and worshiped God as their Eternal Father and accepted His plan by which His children could obtain a physical body and gain earthly experience to progress toward perfection and ultimately realize his or her divine destiny as an heir of eternal life. The divine plan of happiness enables family relationships to be perpetuated beyond the grave. Sacred ordinances and covenants available in holy temples make it possible for individuals to return to the presence of God and for families to be united eternally.

The first commandment that God gave to Adam and Eve pertained to their potential for parenthood as husband and wife. We declare that God’s commandment for His children to multiply and replenish the earth remains in force. We further declare that God has commanded that the sacred powers of procreation are to be employed only between man and woman, lawfully wedded as husband and wife.

We declare the means by which mortal life is created to be divinely appointed. We affirm the sanctity of life and of its importance in God’s eternal plan.

Husband and wife have a solemn responsibility to love and care for each other and for their children. “Children are an heritage of the Lord” (Psalms 127:3). Parents have a sacred duty to rear their children in love and righteousness, to provide for their physical and spiritual needs, to teach them to love and serve one another, to observe the commandments of God and to be law-abiding citizens wherever they live. Husbands and wives—mothers and fathers—will be held accountable before God for the discharge of these obligations.

The family is ordained of God. Marriage between man and woman is essential to His eternal plan. Children are entitled to birth within the bonds of matrimony, and to be reared by a father and a mother who honor marital vows with complete fidelity. Happiness in family life is most likely to be achieved when founded upon the teachings of the Lord Jesus Christ. Successful marriages and families are established and maintained on principles of faith, prayer, repentance, forgiveness, respect, love, compassion, work, and wholesome recreational activities. By divine design, fathers are to preside over their families in love and righteousness and are responsible to provide the necessities of life and protection for their families. Mothers are primarily responsible for the nurture of their children. In these sacred responsibilities, fathers and mothers are obligated to help one another as equal partners. Disability, death, or other circumstances may necessitate individual adaptation. Extended families should lend support when needed.

We warn that individuals who violate covenants of chastity, who abuse spouse or offspring, or who fail to fulfill family responsibilities will one day stand accountable before God. Further, we warn that the disintegration of the family will bring upon individuals, communities, and nations the calamities foretold by ancient and modern prophets.

We call upon responsible citizens and officers of government everywhere to promote those measures designed to maintain and strengthen the family as the fundamental unit of society.

  25. Sorry, Ellen, for the long proclamation but I pray people who will ponder on its content may gain wisdom and knowledge on how to preserve their family and even perhaps their posterities. It is actually more I guess following some divine rule when it comes to family, which is in fact part of the Lord’s Great Plan of Salvation.

  26. Sabi nga sa Bible:
“Consider the ravens: for they neither sow nor reap; which neither have storehouse nor barn; and God feedeth them: how much more are ye better than the fowls? And which of you with taking thought can add to his stature one cubit? If ye then be not able to do that thing which is least, why take ye thought for the rest? Consider the lilies how they grow: they toil not, they spin not; and yet I say unto you, that Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these. If then God so clothe the grass, which is to day in the field, and to morrow is cast into the oven; how much more will he clothe you, O ye of little faith? And seek not ye what ye shall eat, or what ye shall drink, neither be ye of doubtful mind. For all these things do the nations of the world seek after: and your Father knoweth that ye have need of these things. But rather seek ye the kingdom of God; and all these things shall be added unto you.” (Luke 12:24-31)

  27. My mother is 89 going on 90 pero malakas even after bearing almost a dozen kids. I’ll be sad if I hear her say nagsisisi siya.

On the contrary, she says she is grateful to God that we have been able to find our places under the sun as my father has wished for. Pasalamat din kami sa kanila for seeing us through.

One thing I love about my parents is hindi nila kami inobligang palamunin sila kahit kailan especially in their old age.

Bakit sinabing ‘at pigilin’?

My late father was with the Mormons near your province. Though he practiced it long before he joined the sect. My two female cousin coverts, very young then, were married off to outback farmer mormons in AZ and they never came back for a visit anymore.

  30. chi chi

Korap Gloria doesn’t give a damn about the size of Pinas population. Her bishops tell her not to fund the artificial family planning contraceptives, kahit condom pa. Out of fear displeasing her bishops, the bitch dropped the fp program in exchange for her daily survival. And her bishops are happy and contented, meron ng monthly huge sustento, go, go, go pa rin ang church doctrine.

  31. Valdemar:

The polygamists are not members of our church. Splinter group iyan that did not want to abide by the policy adopted by our church in 1890, when polygamy was stopped.

I actually do not want to comment on these people because I am ignorant of this group and do not know what it is teaching its members unlike when I talk for instance about the Catholic Church because I was a practicing Catholic before I joined the LDS Church.

  32. Meanwhile, don’t rely too much on the NCSO statistics. Isa pang maraming hocus pocus diyan. They cannot even be sure about the exact number of Filipinos since they have not actually put the records in order.

I know a lot many Filipinos in Japan with one or more birth certificates with different names, etc. but only one body! Now they’re having problems because their visas can even be revoked when they are detected of having faked their passports, etc. with the new system of fingerprinting entrants to Japan, and their fingerprints matched with those already in the file.

Maraming peke and IDs, etc. So, how can they claim that the figures given by the NCSO is sure and accurate?

  33. Valdemar Valdemar

Actually, gleaning from records the NCSO had 95 M red blooded Filipinos earlier but they chose the eyeball to eyeball household to household visit and interview and after the usual dagdag-bawas factored in to come out with a lower birthrate figure the pride of an economist upstairs. However, the mouths to feed just dont tally with the estimates of imports and productions.

  34. Valdemar Valdemar

I just wonder what the priests replied when asked how many in the family? and their names? Thats the phantom difference.

  35. Valdemar Valdemar

One solution to the problem on burgeoning population is to adopt the culture of the first world on the family. Kick out of the home the extra 18 year olds and above. They should learn how to feed themselves and take on responsibilities. It gives them more opportunities to commit misdemeanors while taking a free ride with the parents.

  36. Valdemar:

Point is the children in poor areas in fact are the ones feeding their families. A lot have been made to work even from infancy so that by the time they reach 20, they want to retire and just make babies to use perhaps the way they had been used by their parents.

When I was working as a special correspondent for a news agency in the Philippines and cooperate with some media in Japan, I used to go around Japan and interview the Japayukis in so-called Philippine pubs and suspected prostitution dens. The average age of these kids, both male and female, being deployed to Japan legally and illegally was 15, and the youngest I interviewed working as prostitute was 12 years old.

I was actually surprised and appalled by the answer of that girl I interviewed and asked what she felt about being made to work in such establishment. “Wala po, kasi malalki naman po ang kita. Tuwang-tuwa nga po ang mga magulang ko sa padala kong pera,” she replied. Napanganga na lang ako.

For that reason, I joined a Japanese feminist group that worked hard to have these Japayukis banned from coming to Japan.

  37. Golberg Golberg

    Hay contraceptives!!!
Yung abortion, depriving a life to continue. Maglagay ka ng contraceptives, you deprive a life to exist.

  38. Valdemar Valdemar

Actually, theres nothing wrong with prostitution. There are other subtle terms for it. One is Japayuki. The Australian oldtimers picked up their wives in Pampanga, Subic and Mabini honkytonks. After acquiring their new cirtizenship, they divorced their old men. Prostitution in Singapore is not illegal. Our girls of good moral standings kuno frequently tour Singapore and the other countries in the region. Some fortunates do come home with the bacon. But prostitution is not the only recourse of the Filipinos. Even with tampered passports, they go and excel in greener pastures. How much more if the government just distribute passports to all, criminals or not and free. Little countries like Belgium, Britain, etc would have by now billions of population if they dont disperse their generations to their commonwealths. Any Filipino who does not acquire laziness early can vend at the sidewalks. He can collect gin and beer bottles from the neighborhood alone. He can neutralize the absurd govt controls and abuses if he has his own weapons. Sa states pa nga, they dont give much a hoot in owning firearms. Lets give the law back to the people’s hands. That way we can have attrition of problems. Take a look at Ilocos Sur, the gun makers. Where are its people now? Some are in politics elsewhere, and most are abroad. So family ties should not be a confounding adhessive among members.

  39. bitchevil bitchevil

Birth prevention should not be mistaken from depriving a life to continue. How can there be a continuation of life if there’s no conception yet? There’s no life yet. The Catholic Church and people like you Golberg are misleading the people who happen to be poor and uneducated. Many are blinded by their blind faith of obeying a teaching that has no basis, even biblical, at all.

  40. bitchevil bitchevil

Sorry…the better term is Family Planning, not birth prevention. Please be guided by God’s teaching in the Book of Genesis that states “…increase and multiply but SUBDUE it.”

  41. Nothing wrong with prostitution? Wow! It’s a violation of the Law of Chastity instituted by God for all you know. Men have been inspired in fact of God to condemn it and pass laws to prohibit it and make it illegal.

Sorry, Valdemar, but I do not abide by such kid glove treatment of prostitutes. A woman does not have to degrade herself that low in order to survive. It is called by the corrupt as the oldest profession but we all know it was not a profession. It was slavery.

  42. bitchevil bitchevil

If there’s nothing wrong with prostitution, then there’s nothing wrong with theft, illegal gambling, fraud, murder…

  43. BTW, the name “Japayuki” is used only in reference to Philippine prostitutes plying their wares in Japan.

Filipino women were not actually the first foreigners to sell their bodies over here, but they were the first ones to be exported here by crooks in their country conniving with Japanese crime gangs and illegal recruiters in groups disguised as legitimate entertainers (music bands, dance troupe, etc.), and the real prototype of ancient slavery when women were lined up for sex slavers to bid on, and force them to work as prostitutes.

The word was coined by a Japanese journalist who zeroed in on the Filipino women found sardined in some filthy prostitution dens and being made to take in no less than 20 customers a day in the early 80’s. It was patterned after “karayuki,” the name used for Japaese prostitutes deployed overseas to cater mainly to Japanese expats before WWII especially in Manchuria and other places where there were concentrations of Japanese.

Japayuki is not used for other foreign nationals so it cannot mean prostitution or prostitute per se. Literally, it means “Japan-bound.”

  44. Golberg Golberg

Bitchevil, hindi ka nagbabasa ng maayos.
Ang sabi ko, maglagay ka ng contraceptive you deprive a life to exist. Hindi ko sinabing, you deprive a life to continue.

  45. I guess, Bitchdevil, religious leaders in the Philippines may just as well review the Ten Commandments with their members, and stop making poverty as an excuse to break the laws of God and of men.

BTW, over in our church, we do not use “subdue” but moderate/moderation in reference to one’s appetite even for that act of love resulting in babies being born to supposedly goodly parents who have the responsibility in fact to teach their children to love and obey God.

I say love not lust, which must be in fact one of the causes of the population explosion Gloria Dorobo is even irresponsibly blaming for the economic mess the Philippines is in at the moment when in fact she is mainly the cause of it all.

  46. nelbar nelbar

  47. patria adorada patria adorada

Maraming paraan para hindi mag buntis ang babae,if only we learn to accept these with open mind.

  48. God has not actually changed. He is the same today, yesterday and tomorrow so that His admonition to multiply and replenish the earth must still hold true.

    Golberg, here’s what I wrote:

    Golberg Says:

    April 19th, 2008 at 10:23 am

    Hay contraceptives!!!
Yung abortion, depriving a life to continue.

  50. bitchevil bitchevil

Excuse me, I meant “here’s what you wrote”. Didn’t you write the word “continue”. I think you should be the one to read what I wrote before criticizing me.

  51. bitchevil bitchevil

And Golberg, I honestly have no quarrel with you. I advise you not to behave like those in Malacanang who keep denying what they have said. You did say “life to continue”. Anyway, let’s just respect each one’s opinion. I do respect your point, though. I still am for what grizzy’s said…Responsible Parents. If parents are responsible enough to space their children and raise them, population problem would be lessened to some degree.

Ano ba itong Demographic Window, Demographic Bonus/Dividend?

    Indonesia : $1,946

    Malaysia : $ 6,146

    Thailand : $ 3,400

    Singapore : $ 30,084

Family planning should be the curriculum in high school so with a right sex education in Pinas. I bet it is taboo to talk about this subject. I think the kids learn their sex education on TV with programming like bomba. There are so many bars everywhere in the Philippines. This is where the government is needed to close or regulate those bars and the wrong programs they show on television. Whats wrong with watching National Geographic program for the kids. There are so many educational programs in TV like Discovery Channel, Hgtv, History Channel, Travel Channel. National Geographic channel, kids can learn so much from these programs. They might be inclined to be Scientists some day which we lack in the Philippines. Everybody wants to be a lawyer and how do you end up being a lawyer? working for the government and to survive in the government one ends up working for a corrupt government. In the U.S. attorneys and doctors are dime a dozen and that is the profession that is looked down by the people as they represent over pricing and cheating the
    public. That is my opinion.

In the U.S. over population is caused by the Latino immigration. Just like the Pinoys, they have to have 6 or 10 kids in one family. The result of that is over taxing our government, welfare is exhausted. In LA county there were so many hospitals that closed because the county is bankrupt, all free and no income to support the staff of the hospital. No rich country can survive with this kind of scenario.

The GMA government is so afraid of the Catholic Church. If Erap were the President today, he favor Family Planning using contraceptives. Since GMA stole the presidency, the Family Planning Program has taken a back seat.

  57. Valdemar Valdemar

I wish that we do not cater our thoughts from religious writings so much as if its the official gospel truth. Prostitution wasnt even prohibited in the olden days and even at the present. No prosti is ever jailed yet. Christ had Mary Magdalene with him. Those punished with stone deaths were the adulteress and bugaws. Have we ever wondered why our mothers are commonly referred to as PI followed sometimes with the sign of the cross.

  58. bitchevil bitchevil

What? Prostitution was not even prohibited in the early days and now? You must be kidding Valdemar!

  59. Valdemar:

FYI, never in the Bible was Mary Magdalene mentioned as a prostitute. The woman whom Christ saved from her executioners was unnamed. Mary of Magdala was a woman Christ exorcised of seven devils. She was not a prostitute.

The Catholic Church in fact corrected this impression that they themselves propagated in 1969. Why don’t you know this?

  60. Don’t blame the Latinos, Dandaw. I know for a fact for example that it is not the Latinos exhausting welfare money there but the Afro-Americans, a lot many of whom even make an issue of the racial discrimination to get those big sums of money they try to get per baby they produce.

I should know. I have tenants in SFO on welfare with each child now being paid 300 dollars or more each to the mother, and she has 6. Hindi na magtatrabaho ang batugan!

Over in the Philippines, there is not even a single centavo allotted for the education of children of indigent families. Buti nga hindi nasasagasaan when they beg money or sell their wares to people on cars stopping at red lights.

I’ve seen young girls at Mabini in fact approaching tourists. My husband was almost victimized kundi pa ako kasama. Golly, 13 years old nagkakalat sa Mabini!

  61. BTW, my folks live in the Latino area in the Bay Area. We have never had problems with them in fact. Iyon mga pilipino pa nga ang magugulo. Average no. of children of our neighbors BTW is 3 not a dozen.

  62. bitchevil bitchevil

The Latinos and Filipinos share many things in common. Other than the usual criminals and drug dealers, the mainstream Latinos care about their families and are hardworking. Check the restaurants and kitchens, most if the diswashers are Latinos. Check the house cleaners and janitors, most are Latinos. If they only speak English well, they can be like most Filipinos who have better jobs. By the way, the Latinos are also victims of foreign colonizers and religion (Catholicism) forced on them. Indeed, many similarities with us Filipinos.

  63. Sinabi mo pa, Bitchdevil. I have a number of friends who are Latinos and members of our church. I practice my Spanish with them.

There is no restriction regarding number of children our members have to bear because we believe that they are heaven sent especially when the parents plan having them and pray for them. We don’t have to worry in fact about the economics, etc. of bringing up children, because the church is there always to help.

They even make it easy for new mothers with members taking turns for instance in feeding and caring for the new mothers and children. The Catholic Church, etc. may do the same so they won’t be blamed even for the fornications of irresponsible folks resulting in unwanted children.

  64. Valdemar Valdemar

    Bitchevil,

Find me one in jail booked and/or convicted for prostitution. Rest assured you cant find one. You may come out now from hiding. You dont need any lawyer if raided. What for. But do be careful to have your medical certificate with you always.

  65. Valdemar Valdemar

    Grizzy,
You got me there. Perhaps I dont have anymore penchant reading more lies of the priests. They hide things, even those other dead sea scrolls they chose not to place in the compendium of early themes of scholarly editors many call the bible anymore.

  66. nelbar nelbar

Mula sa Yahoo News(U.S. Church needs purification, pope says)

    . . .

  67. It isn’t that there is no law against prostitution in the Philippines. It is just not being enforced especially if the girls are well-connected.

Golly, the prostitution dens there are even oftentimes said to be owned by some big shots in the military and the police! Worse iyong exclusive clubs for lawyers and men of the law where the bunnies moonlighting as call girls are even ex-contestants in this and that beauty pageant!

Truth is I had on several occasions, when I was working as a tourist guide/escort for a big travel agency in Tokyo and used to take tourists to the Philippines, been taken with our tourists to such joints in Pasay and Quezon City. The girls there would even brag that it was alright, “kasi Ma’m ang may-ari nito si General so and so!”

Still, it does not mean that prostitution is legal and not banned in the Philippines. Palakasan lang.

Over in the Land of the Rising Sun, I have interpreted for women caught violating the Anti-Prostitution Law. Majority of them are Latinas. Tinuruan ng mga yakuza, who make a big business of this fornication trade.

  68. OK lang, Valdemar. In fact, there were a lot of conflicting things my Cathechist could not even explain. Her ignorance in fact gave me the incentive to seek for the truth in the Scriptures.

My father gave me my first Bible when I was 12. It was one of those Bibles Gideon was distributing to the ignoramuses.
I found the answers to my questions in fact in the church where I now belong.

It’s actually what “seeking for the truth” is all about. Mabait talaga ang Diyos to even give us all that option, and that is finding the truth for ourselves, not rely on the teachings of men.

“But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness, and all these things shall be ministered unto you.” (Matthew 6:33)

  69. bitchevil bitchevil

Valdemar, just because there’s no prostitute convicted or you don’t find her in jail does not mean it’s right. Many countries have weak penalties on prostitution. Many even legalized prostitution. In other countries especially the Muslims, it might mean death to one found prostituting. For one thing, it’s difficult to convict because of lack of evidence. Most often, one must be caught in the act.

  70. Bitchdevil: Most often, one must be caught in the act.
    ******

Sinabi mo pa. In fact, a lot many of the prostitutes (mostly Colombians and Venezuelans, and one or two Filipinas) I have had the chance to interpret for were caught on the act, right at the front desk of some hotel with supposed customers being undercover cops.

Pero wais iyong mga puta. Marunong mangatwiran. Kahit maraming dalang condom, nangangatwiran hindi sila nagpuputa. In fact, the law had to be revised to include the anus in the definition of prostitution in Japan.

It reminds me of the crooks likewise in the Philippines na magaling mag-circumvent ng batas gaya halimbara ni Gloria Dorobo, iyong asawa niya, et al.

Kaya just because Gloria Dorobo for instance cannot be convicted as yet, it does not mean that she has not committed a crime at hindi siya kriminal, which for me, is what she really is. Buhay pa naman ang mga batas applicable to her, hindi lang nga pinapairal.

  71. bitchevil bitchevil

Who is the world biggest Prostitute? Gloria Macapagal Arroyo.
    She prostituted the country.

  72. Bitchdevil: Who is the world biggest Prostitute? Gloria Macapagal Arroyo.

    *****

She is more like the mama-san in a prostitution den, who works more as a pimp and sidelines as a hooker. Tawag nga ng marami bugaw as when she brags about her pimping OFWs overseas, especially the Japayukis before they were finally banned like when Sto. Tomas was the DoLE Secretary.
