Adel Tamano, spokesperson of the United Opposition, said that under the MOA, the President had “effectively ceded part of the territory of the Philippines to the MILF.”

Prof. Nur is MNLF. MILF was a breakout faction of MNLF that disagreed with him in signing the Tripoli Agreement that would give autonomy to Moroland. Hashim Salamat wanted independence, no less, so he created MILF.
Now why do you think MILF now would sign this MOA if there has been no promise of independence? It’s that simple, really.
