Bolante just might get his wish

Joc-joc Bolante, the best friend of Mike Arroyo whom the Filipino people want to account for the P2.8 billion of money for agriculture which he diverted to the campaign funds of Gloria Arroyo in May 2004, should be reminded that God, in his unfathomable wisdom, just might grant his wish for an illness that would incapacitate him to go anywhere including the Senate investigation.

A source at St. Luke’s Hospital said the doctors are having a hard time looking for an “illness” which Bolante can use to justify his inability to withstand the stress of lying under the intense questioning of the senators.

As of Monday, six days after Bolante arrived Tuesday night in a wheelchair, his hand on his chest as if in pain, the medical bulletin issued by his attending physician,Dr. Romeo Saavedra (also the doctor of Mike Arroyo) said “the patient’s chest pains are due to findings of gastric ulcers and esophagitis.”

That validates the joke going around that Bolante’s blood pressure is 110 over acting.

The medical bulletin, which was read to media by Marilyn Lagniton, St Luke’s corporate communication officer, said a nodule has been noted in Bolante’s prostate, but that “after a series of tests done by the urologist, this was considered to be of no clinical significance.”

Bolante has undergone stress test or treadmill exercise test, gastroscopy, colonoscopy, CT scan of the whole abdomen and coronary CT angiography. The medical bulletin said findings reveal the presence of multiple gastric ulcers, esophagitis and erosive gastritis, which tested positive for H-pylori.”

A colonoscopy was thus conducted on Bolante which “showed the presence of multiple polyps, which were all removed.”

The long and short of it is that, they have found nothing that Bolante can use to tell the senators I’m too sick to tell the truth.

In fact, Bolante’s medications consist of anti-hypertensive, anti-cholesterol, proton pump inhibitor, antibiotics, and an antihystaminic (ceterizine) which persons over 50 living normal lives are familiar with. (By the way, internet demystifies proton pump inhibitors as a group of drugs for long-lasting reduction of gastric acid production.)

Saavedra recommended that more tests be done such as Magnetic Resonance Imaging and a Magnetic Resonance Angiography on Bolante’s brain because he Bolante complained of “unsteadiness” after the stress test.”

Does St. Luke’s have an equipment to test conscience? That’s what Bolante needs.

One’s health should not be a laughing matter but the public’s cynicism about Bolante’s health condition is simply a reaction to the insults thrown at them by him and his protectors, particularly Gloria and Mike Arroyo.

Actually, by going straight to St. Luke’s upon his arrival and staying there as long as he can, Bolante did the Senate a favor. We learned that his lawyers were planning to file a complaint with the Commission of Human Rights. But with the Senate’s tolerance, more because at that time the senators were in different parts of the world and had not yet gotten their act together, he can’t say that he didn’t get the best medical attention.

It’s better for Bolante to stay at St. Luke’s as long as he shoulders the bill than be a burden to the undermanned Senate security. They just have to make sure that he didn’t slip away because there’s information that he plans to go to Hongkong, then to Malaysia. He wants be out of the country for two or three months, which is the time of the scheduled senate investigation and the deliberation on the impeachment complaint against Gloria Arroyo which also includes the fertilizer scam.

There is no hold departure order for Bolante although he is in the watch list. The Senate would have to be notified if he leaves the country. That is, if the court doesn’t free him from Senate custody.

It’s understandable why Bolante is so afraid to face the Senate, which has documented his plunder of P728 million out of the P2.8 billion agriculture funds released a few days before the May 10, 2004 elections. If he tells the truth, he would have to say who ordered or authorized him to commit the crime against the impoverished farmers. There’s no way that Gloria Arroyo would not be dragged in. If he keeps quiet, he would be the only one to suffer the punishment of the crime. Since the death penalty has been repealed, plunder is punishable by life imprisonment.

Filipinos have a way expressing their anger and despair in a joke. Like this one:

Joc-joc: Doctor, Doctor I am sick, call Mike very quick.

(Mike arrives).

Joc-joc: Mike, my best friend,shall I die?

Mike: No, my best friend. Just lie and lie.

I find this joke about Joc Joc and his best friend Mike Arroyo really amusing but with sense. Mike’s visits to the hospital is none other than to lift up JJ’s sinking spirit and of course to drop some tips on how to play his role in lying well! Lokohin n’yo ang Ninong n’yong walang silbi!

Kaya, Mike…dahil wala ka ng kaluluwa tulad ng asawa mo…don’t ever forget to practice your role when your end comes!

Mike’s visit{s} are all about their partehan yet. Malaki pa ang di ma-account ni Joc-joc.

…Saavedra said an endocrinologist would have to check out a “suspicious solitary nodule on [Bolante’s] right adrenal gland…

    http://www.gmanews.tv/story/131060/Bolante-to-undergo-more-medical-tests—doctor

suspicious as bolante’s latest moves are, the doctors at st. luke’s are able to fish out (or let me say the CT scan picked it up) a possible life-threatening disease on bolante – a suspicious adrenal gland nodule.

this tumor plus weight loss and hypertension may mean something:

    http://www.medicine.ankara.edu.tr/fakulte/files/252_1

it’s scary…but who would fear Death over a Senate (or a Public) Inquiry? i’m pretty sure bolante would rather face Death than Alan “The Peter” (or aptly, “The Pester”) Cayetano.

When Saavedra makes a mistake of creating a virus/illness to disable dyokdyok to talk, charge him/her with malpratice, abetting a criminal and most importantly, obstruction of justice.

Suspicious adrenal gland nodule ha. Baka RENAL disease yan, AIDS baga! Matuluyan sana.

  5. chi chi

Wow!

Imagine, based on the World Food Day survey by the Gallup International-Voice of People 2008, 4 out of 10 pinoy have very little or no enough food on the table in 12 months.

In the survey, Pinas is number five in hunger rate after Cameroon, Pakistan, Nigeria and Peru.

  6. tapak tapak

ang dapat ngayon tirahin ay un st. luke hospital at un doctor, harboring a criminal obstruction to justice…sobra na yan is already against ethics of a doctor…pati doctor kasabwat… iboycott ang st. luke

  7. chi chi

Dr. Romeo Saavedra (also the doctor of Mike Arroyo) said “the patient’s chest pains are due to findings of gastric ulcers and esophagitis.”

In Inglish, dyokdyok is suffering from hurt burns.

  9. rose rose

were his head and brain examined?..inject with truth serum na galing China at baka matuluyan na nga ang over acting..

  10. Jake Las Pinas Jake Las Pinas

They should have brought Bolante directly to the Senate and be given a physical there instead of St. lukes. Wala nang mangyayari dito. Stalemate na ito. Balajadia should report to media who is visiting bolante. Remember that this guy is under arrest. The senate gave too much concession to this guy and I doubt he is using his own money for his medical bills, baka tayo din ang nagbabayad nyan. Narinig nyo familya bolante?

  11. Toney Cuevas Toney Cuevas

Joc Joc Bolante should just drop dead and do the country a big favor to stop all this commotion in which will lead to nowhere… Bolate is under the protection of the wh*re Gloria which is the main reason why he’s taking advantage of the situation. And no balls Congress is content to be incompetent as always. I like I said, judicial system in the Philippines is dead, died when wh*re Gloria overthrew a legitimate govt. What else can someone expect to a dead gov’t.

sana maging daan ito sa mga pilipino na may pag-asa pa ang ating bansa na magkaroon ng isang lider na katulad ni obama, kaya nga hanggat maaga we nid to inform the filipino people the importance of choosing the head of our govt come 2010(at sanay may eleksiyon)

Wala na cya backer sa US,hmmm kaya pala China naman next prospect niya for investment support and foreign assistance kuno?

    mabuhay ka Pilipino!

    baycas,

    can i expect him then to truly pester and doggedly examine Jocjoc Bolate, re: Billion-Peso ferlitizer scam, or;

another, ‘i’ll scratch your back, if you scratch mine’ farcical play in the making?

  16. Valdemar Valdemar

  17. baycas3 baycas3

a pester is only as good as a broken witness/captive when the latter reveals secrets.

on the part of bolante, his singing will make gloria et al stink to high heaven.

however, I believe bolante is more fearful of the Senate than having to face a possible deadly illness. even if cayetano will later on prove he is the pester as he is trying to project himself to be, the problem mainly rests on bolante’s voluntary appearance in front of the sen-ey-tors.

his evasiveness is apparent…his evasiveness shows how he values more the present dispensation rather than the public at large.

i won’t expect a “pester, the molester” alan (or any other truth-seeking sen-ey-tor) in the senate inquiry for i am not banking on the joke’s truth-telling episode at the senate.

mum is the word, I tell you…mum is the word…

So no one is beyond temptations now. The Judges of CA. The Chairman of Comelec, oh Yes the Generals, and now even the Good Doctors are under the spell of $$$. The power of Money.

  19. I bet you a lot many farmers are praying, “Jocjoc, mamatay ka na sana!” I was going to say, “Ditto” but then before he dies, he should confess ALL his sins!!!

Yuck!

Ugly Presidential Daughter Luli just got married. Only limited guests from both family attended the wedding. Luli’s siblings were not even at the wedding. Why the sudden and rather secret marriage? Could it be Luli was pregnant? She could have raped the guy, a nephew of Fr. Bernas.

  21. chi chi

Either pregnant or baka makawala pa!

  22. atty36252 atty36252

Huwag niyo munang gambalain si Luli.

They are now in the midst of the most exciting part of the wedding ceremony – the playing of the organs.

  23. chi chi

Yahahaha!!!

  24. Iniatras na yung petition sa Supreme Court. Alam ni Zulueta na kung magdesisyon ang SC laban sa Senate (which is malabong mangyari being a co-equal), wala nang means to prolong the hibernation.

  25. Pei99 Pei99

sakto tlg ang weeding sa fertilizer scam naman ni dyokdyok… hahahaha. well it shows na hindi totoo ung wedding invitation palusot sa st. lukes.

  26. Will Lowlee be carrying a weeding bouquet? Maybe the whole weeding entourage, too!

    St. Lukes granted Joke-joke Asylum!!!!

    Asylum defined:

    1. an institution for the maintenance and care of persons requiring specialized assistance.

    2. a refuge secured from destruction, violence, infringement, or desecration, for criminals and debtors; sanctuary

  28. yol yol

  32. chi chi

Sa I-da-ho!, ang honeymoon ni Lowlee! bwahahaha!!! Oks na oks, Tongue.

  33. I second the motion.

I’m surprised that many of the readers made comments about Dr. Saavedra. He happens to be one of the most upright and most well-respected cardiologists in the Philippines. These theories about Dr. Saavedra and that “binibigyan ng sakit si Bolante” is just ridiculous. Obstruction of justice? That is the stupidest thing to say to a doctor. Doctors have taken an oath to give proper medical care to a patient. I believe Dr. Saavedra is just doing his job. What if Dr. Saavedra did not do his job and Bolante’s health deteriorated? How can he testify then? What many of you are saying is that doctors in St. Luke’s are inventing diseases to delay Bolante’s discharge. What purpose would that serve?

To those people who made uneducated comments about doctors being corrupt and unethical, do you have medical degrees?
    katotohanan?

Nakakahiya kayo.

Obstruction of justice? Unethical? I do not see anything wrong with doctors doing their jobs. And when asked to release findings, don’t the doctors release medical bulletins? I do not see obstruction in that. In fact I think Dr. Saavedra just gave Bolante one more chance to tell us the truth.
