The ultimate insult

Not a few wish that what happened to U.S. President George W. Bush in Baghdad last Monday would also happen to Gloria Arroyo.

What happened to Bush the other day in Baghdad is all over TV, newspapers, You Tube, blogs. He was holding a press conference with Iraqi Prime Minister Nuri al-Maliki as part of his farewell tour before he turns over the reins of the United States government to president-elect Barack Obama on Jan. 20, 2009, when a television journalist threw shoes at him.

The swiftness of the action stunned even Bush security team. The journalist, Muntadar al-Zeidi of an Iraqi-owned TV network based in Cairo, Egypt, was able to hurl at Bush his pair of shoes one after another as he shouted, “”This is a farewell kiss, you dog.”

Too bad, he didn’t hit the American president who ordered the invasion of his country five years ago in the false pretext that Saddam Hussein had a hoard of weapons of mass destruction.

In the Arab world, showing the sole of your shoe to someone is a sign of extreme disrespect, and throwing your shoes at a person is the ultimate insult.

News reports said Al-Zeidi was being held for questioning by the Iraqi prime minister’s guards. Arabs, however, hail him as a “hero.”

A website, www.democraticunderground.com has declared him a hero and has fashioned a medal for him. It’s not only Arabs who are praising him. An American blogged, “You, sir, are a hero to all who oppose this monster we have been forced to call our president. Thank you for your brave act.”

There is also much admiration for him in my blog. Anna, a Filipina in Brussels wrote,”Tee-hee! Shoes throwr at Bush? Not flowers? Didn’t Dick Cheney once pompously declare, ‘We will be greeted as liberators. The Iraqis will throw flowers at our troops.’

“What I regret though is that the shoe thrower missed. That shoe thrower should be awarded a medal for doing what millions of people all over the world wanted to do but never did.”

Grizzy, in Japan, said: “Dapat lang! I clapped my hands in fact when I saw the news on CNN.
The figure of innocent Iraqis killed since the invasion of Iraq ordered by Bush has now reached 1,284,105.

“I wish someone would do the same at Gloria Mandarambong when she brags about her economic policy abroad.”

I, too, can only gasp in admiration. Who can do it here to Gloria Arroyo?

Was it two years ago when a courageous Teresa Pangilinan unfurled a protest banner during a commencement exercise in a state university in Cavite where Arroyo was the dishonored guest? At the Philippine General Hospital, someone unfurled protest banner from the upper floor when she inaugurated the Eye Center more than a year ago.

That was as far as the “in-your-face” protest against Arroyo had dared although her chief bodyguard, Hermogenes Esperon, had endured having been pelted with eggs at the University of the Philippines.

But Al Zeidi has inspired those who are appalled by Arroyo’s lying, cheating and lying to be more creative and forceful in their protest actions. Here are sample ideas from my blog:

Bitchevil: “Why doesn’t someone throw Imelda’s 3,000 pairs of shoes at the Evil Bitch? Or our soldiers could throw at her their military boots. Include as targets Esperon, Palparan, Yano and others.”

Who can do it to Gloria?
    Just wondering kung bakit wala..

    ..takot?
..hanggang dadat lang and no action?
    ..o walang sira?
    bakit nga ano?
kung sa bagay mahirap siyang matamaan..not because she could duck…may nagsabi sans her ‘igh ‘eel she is only 4’8
she can easily go under the table..sanay naman siya magdago ng mga bagay na “under the table”..just wondering do they pay taxes?

Mr. Bush deserved his fate from MZ…the Iraqi heroe who bit the odds?

People around the world symphatized with his bravery and loved to his country and people.

Mr. Bush is the most and in effective president ever in American History. He earned a Distinguished Flying Shoes easted of Distinguished Flying Cross?

Pinoys are awaiting the same fate of gloria arroyo y macapagal before his term ended.

Ultimate Insult? Come on folks! Goergie, Dicky, Rummy will just laugh this off over Jack Daniels. These three lowly dogs are clueless what insults mean, they’ve been there, done that. On January 21st or thereafter, they will be counting how much Halliburton made in BILLIONS!

The same goes with Gluerilla. You can throw countless of shoes at her, she and her alipores would care less – they already carted and deposited the Filipino People’s money in every bank imaginable around the globe and will live the good life leaving her lowly subjects wallowing into darkness of hunger. What else is new?!

Mar Roxas said this, “niloloko na tayo!” That’s a sign of ineptness. He’s been in politics for so long to make idiotic remark like that.

Malamang pang i-news black-out pa ito.

  14. Another American blogger (and former member of US military) supports shoe thrower who, by the way, is reported to have been injured:

“All that we know is we were contacted yesterday by a person — we know him — and he told us that Muntadhar was taken on Sunday to Ibn-Sina hospital,” Maitham al-Zeidi said. “He was wounded in the head because he was hit by a rifle butt, and one of his arms was broken.”

“President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo took a break from affairs of the state and attended boxing champion Manny Pacquiao’s brithday party in the southern city of General Santos on Wednesday evening.

Television footage showed Arroyo, who was in a black dress, seated behind Pacquiao at the packed KCC Convention Center in the boxing hero’s home town.”

…..Another PR gimmick. Why should the Evil Bitch attend a simple birthday of a boxer? And why wear black dress? Is she in mourning? If you wear black attending the birthday party of a Chinese, you’d be in trouble. Red is happiness to the Chinese…definitely not black.

  27. Bad News:

  29. OFF TOPIC BUT IMPORTANT:
Microsoft has announced it has detected a flaw in Internet Explorer’s (all versions) security that allows a hacker to take control of your computer and harvest all your passwords, bank/credit card account details, and other important data.

You can download and install other browsers for FREE. Like Opera, Mozilla Firefox, Google Chrome, Apple OS/X, etc. I’m not taking any chances. I’m now running on Google Chrome, it’s free, cute, clean, downloads and installs in under 2 minutes.

As of yesterday, 10,000 websites have been infected by the trojan/worm and just entering any of these websites, your computer is immediately infected. Microsoft has not come out with the necessary patch yet and while its site offers some solutions, there is nothing in there that non-geeks can understand. Anti-virus providers have not developed any cure yet as of this writing.

    FYI.

  30. I wonder what Obama will do about this new pact between Bush and Maliki. The idiot is trying to make sure that Obama cannot pull out the US troops in Iraq for the oil unless of course the democrat-controlled Senate and Congress vote for the abrogation of this last minute treaty of Bush with the Iraqi government.

You bet, I am against the invasion of Iraq by the US and UK, etc. I have been since Scott Ritter, et al exposed the crimes against humanity being committed by the US government under the Bushes, meaning the father and son, and not just Iraqis but also Americans become casualties of those weapons of destruction that the Bushes sell and use to destroy those who would oppose them or not serve their vested interests.

Truth is I have friends who volunteered to be human shields before the 2003 attack on Iraq. One friend in fact is on her death bed presently suffering from cancer of the skin that she acquired during her trips of mercy to Iraq between the period from after the Gulf War and the 2003 attack. She was in fact one of the human shields there.

This friend in fact was a member of our church who got disillusioned with America and decided instead to leave our church and join a Moslem sect in Iraq, and has since been bringing relief goods to the people there via Jordan. It was through her that I got connections and friends at Bashra in Iraq, and thus, had become a staunch supporter of the Iraqi people in their fight against US aggression. I am not leaving our church, however, even when it is in fact US-based, and majority of our members being Republicans like Bush. I understand a lot of them voted Obama, though, in the last election out of disgust for Bush.

Incidentally, while we’re all focused on the “shoe throwing” incident, we need to be updated with the Fertilizer scam investigation. So far, all those involved and implicated in the scam failed to attend a single Senate hearing. These criminals are protected by lawyers and of course Malacanang. With Christmas and New Year only a few weeks from now, don’t expect this Fertilizer scam case to go anywhere.

Korek Norpil…it’s true that if anyone committed crime or any political motives against USA, sure 100% ma blacklisted sila.

They supressed their own people and also they tried to mistreat tayong mga banyaga.

  42. Sorry for the late reply, Anna. No, you don’t have to delete Internet Explorer. Yet. I’m sure Microsoft will come out with a patch soon. But I’m loving Google Chrome. It’s fast and the overhead is skinny unlike the MS bloatware. You will still need Internet Explorer later in order to update your MS Office programs.

  43. As for the hate-US stuff, we must separate abhorrence of George Bush alone from wholesale contempt against the US. Everybody loves the US. I’m almost sure majority of Filipinos have relatives there.

Many people around the world hate Bush not just because of what he did to Iraq but more so because of what he’s done to the US. Check out today’s newspapers! Also, his cuddling of dictators like Gloria affects our very lives here. We therefore have every right to criticize him.

  44. bitchevil bitchevil

It’s always my position that Americans are nice people. It’s the US foreign policy that sucks. Yes, we should separate Bush from the rest of America the same way we separate the Evil Bitch from the rest of the Philippines.

  45. bitchevil bitchevil

Malacanang usually reacts at once everytime the Evil Queen gets criticized. But this time, Malacanang has been silent on the shoe throwing incident. No comment even from any of the cabinet members. Well, they see possible incident that’s gonna happens to the Bitch.

  46. Balweg: Ang logic dito, marami ang kontra ng kotra sa Kano pero tingnan mo yong mga suot nila made in US o ibang bagay na tinatangkilik nila.

    *****
Not me. At least, dito sa Japan, I can assimilate easily kasi kamukha nila ako, pati kulay ng balat! Kahit salita, di halata. OK na rin kesa mapagkamalang Japayuki! 😛

  47. Meron ngang ad about a program to be aired on BBC where the anchor man says, “Bush is the worst president the US has ever had in 50 years.”

The idiot should be sent to the International Court for crime against humanity together with Dick Cheney, who has admitted that he ordered the torture of suspects incarcerated in Guantanamo Bay, et al.

  48. chi chi

  49. bitchevil bitchevil

What do Dick Cheney and Dick Gordon have in common? Both are politicians (aside from having dicks of course).

  50. ParengPepe ParengPepe

An insult indeed – to the thousands of men and women who have given their lives in order for these ingrates to be free from Saddam, who has treated them like scum and slaughtered their men, women and children by the tens of thousands for years.

If Iraq had not been a free country now, there is no way that this thug will have the guts to do what he has done and still live. Would he have thrown his shoes at Saddam? He would have been castrated right then and there.

Dead on the spot di ba? Go figure.

The Philippines is a free country in name only. We can not claim to be a true democracy until we are ruled by shameless crooks who claim to “represent” us. Until people like Garcilliano, Abalos, Bolante, etc. can still roam the streets scot free and continue to mock us, and until we elect the likes of Lito Lapid, Bong Revilla, et al to high political office, we will never be truly “free”.

It gets better. Coming soon – The Honorable Congressman Manny Pacquiao.

    Go figure.

  51. bitchevil bitchevil

Manny Pacquiao says he wants to serve the people as if he cannot serve them by remaining as ordinary citizen. But think about Lito Lapid who’s a Senator…he’s no better.

  52. ParengPepe ParengPepe

Lito Lapid is a total waste of time and space. Sadly, life is too short and his presence among us does not help in any way.

Pacquiao makes me proud as a Filipino after winning all his fights. However, when he tries (and we can see that he really tries), to answer his english speaking interviewers in english, nahihiya at nasasaktan ako para sa kanya – para sa atin.

I like him as a boxer, but as a congressman – teka muna – tabla tabla muna tayo, Manny. Keep you dignity and respectability intact. In life (not necessarily in boxing), it is better to quit while you are head. I hope that you not only listen to Chavit or Atienza, but to others as well – millions of others. Keep an open mind. Look around you.

  53. bitchevil bitchevil

There’s nothing wrong with Manny trying to speak in English with a heavy accent. What’s disgusting is when he keeps answering in English whenever he’s asked in Tagalog.

  54. ParengPepe ParengPepe

The accent is understandable and bearable. Often times his replies are incoherent and totally unrelated to the question.

Mabuti pa si Lito Lapid may English-tagalog interpreter sa Senado. ROTFLOL…

History will judge Bush and Cheney with regards to detainees in Gitmo.

WAR was brought to the US soil on 9/11, the same way that the attack on Pearl Harbor became a starting point for America’s war with Japan.

The US govt. considers detainees in Guantanamo as enemy combatants (whose countries of origin are not covered by the Geneva convention). A lot of them have been released and a lot of them are still detained.

THE US IS CURRENTLY AT WAR, but has not been attacked after 9/11, although terrorist acts have occured in a lot of other areas.

Here is a link of Cheney’s recent interview with Chris Wallace of Fox news:

    http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,470706,00.html.

Let’s keep an open mind and continue to discuss this issue.

    Thank you.

Merry Christmas to all of you and specially to you, Ms. Ellen – and may the Good Lord bless and keep you and those close to your heart. Peace!!
