The National Bureau of Investigation has cleared Justice Secretary Raul Gonzalez and is excluding him from its investigation into the alleged multi-million peso bribe, supposedly paid to secure to release of three suspected drug pushers known as the “Alabang boys.”
Arnel Dalumpines, head of the NBI Special Task Force investigating the reported bribery of justice officials and personnel of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA), told VERA Files Gonzalez was not in his list of people to be summoned for questioning.
“We are not investigating Secretary Gonzalez because he was the one who ordered the investigation,” Dalumpines said.
Asked if, in effect, Gonzalez has been cleared of any involvement in the bribery case, Dalumpines said, “Yes, he is cleared.”

Nakakatawa, Gonzales was cleared by his own corrupt agency!
now here is the Question, who wants to believe the NBI on Gonzalez? It is not improper for an Agency or Police force to investigate its own on Matters of Administrative infractions, but for Criminal Matters, which is the case of the “alabang boys” scandals, it should never, never had been the case..never heard such thing..
Wow! Ang mga unggoy, trying to impress pa raw na serious sila sa investigation nila! Ulol! Command responsibility ang kaso noong gunggong kung hindi man siya involved sa bribery kasi siya ang boss ng mga kurakot sa DOJ.
These NBI agents should not have been under the DOJ but a separate entity like for instance our National Police Agency that is not part of the Ministry of Justice but coordinates with the said department in pursuing criminals especially in the government. Bobo! Nakakasuka ang sistema!
Sabi nila, may deperensiya lang ang mga tao, pero sa sistemang pinapairal lalo na ngayong kriminal ang pinuno, hindilang tao ang may deperensiya. Mismong sistema palpak. Ginaya sa mga kano, tapos modify-in para daw tumama sa utak ng mga pilipino, lalong napalpak kasi ang layunin namang totoo ay para makakurakot ng husto ang mga gustung kumurakot lalo na iyong may bangaw sa mukha na may asawang ganid na baboy pa!
Gloria as drug czar! Walang patawad, pati drug ay si Pidal na rin ang magmamaniobra. Dapat ay itumba ng drug lords ang mag-asawang Pidal kasi ay mawawalan sila ng hanapbuhay in the very near future.

Statement of the Concerned Citizens Movement
Civil society today lambasted Secretary Raul Gonzalez for saying that the 20 Magdalo operatives working now with PDEA are responsible for discrediting the Justice department as part of a destabilization plan. “On the contrary, this Administration does not need help from anyone in destabilizing itself. The fact is rampant corruption in the Arroyo government, from the top to the bottom, is what is destabilizing this government and causing the Filipino people to lose trust in democratic institutions”, said Prof. Harry L. Roque of the UP College of Law.
Betina Legarda, Co-Convenor of the Concerned Citizen’s Movement, lamented what she described as Gonzalez desperate effort to deflect blame from himself.: “As Justice Secretary, Secretary Gonzalez should be a man enough to accept blame for the Alabang boys fiasco. He is after all, the country’s Chief Prosecutor. The buck stops with him”. Meanwhile, former DOTC Secretary Josie Lichauso warned Malacanang to observe transparency and fairplay in the resolution of the Alabang Boys controversy. “It is when people have lost hope in the Justice system when they are left with no further recourse but to take justice into their own hands”, Lichauco added.
Civil Society groups also demanded that Justice Secretary Gonzalez should also go on leave to avoid the impression that there is an ensuing whitewash. They also questioned the objectivity of the panel thus far appointed by the President observing that its members are “fanatics” of the President: “How can a known staunch supporter like Fr. Ranhillo Aquino be expected to be objective when he is an open advocate for the President?”, asked Gloria Alcuaz, also of CCM.
Roque added that blame for the Alabang affair should ultimately lie with the President: “USEC Blancaflor has been very vocal in his statements that he only reports to the President. This must be why the draft letter for dismissal was prepared in the letterhead of the DOJ and why whoever prepared it was confident it was going to be signed by Secretary Gonzalez”, Roque added. “This is ultimately Mrs. Arroyo’s fault: the death of our democratic institutions”, Roque lamented.
Correct. She just wants to calm down the situation since it involves two government agencies. Why doesn’t she also act as Golf Czar to solve the golf mauling incident involving Pamandamans and Dela Paz?
