Ayan, may assignment na si Ambassador for Peace and Understanding Manny Pacquaio.
Sa interview ni Judge Jorge Emmanuel Lorredo sa ANC, tinatawagan niya ang champion na boksingero na pumunta sa hearing ng kasong perjury na isinampa ni Mike Defensor laban kay Rodolfo “Jun” Lozada sa Mayo 28 sa Manila Metropolitan Trial Court Branch 26.
“Nanawagan ako kay Pacquiao na pumunta siya sa May 28 sa courtroom ko, I will allow him to talk to Mike Defensor and Jun Lozada,” sabi niya.
Sabi ni Lorredo, nahihirapan siyang pagkasunduin ang dalawa at bilang ambassador of peace and understanding, ang titulong binigay ni Gloria Arroyo kay Pacquiao noong Lunes, baka raw magtagumpay si Pacquiao.
Sinabi ni Lorredo rin kay Willard Cheng, ang reporter ng ABS-CBN na may nakapagsabi sa kanya na plano raw ng Malacañang na pahiyain siya at siraan siya para mapilitan siyang mag-inhbit o biatawan ang kasong perjury ni Lozada.
Ngunit malulungkot ang Malacañang dahil walang planong uurong si Judge. Sinabi niyang may mga sugo ng Malacañang na naghihikayat sa kanyang kusang bitawan ang kaso. Ang sagot niya, “Kahit anong pressure ng Malacañang sa akin, hindi ako mag-inhibit.
Nang tanungin siya ng pangalan ng sugo ng Malacañang, sabi niya siya ay trial lawyer at alam niyang i-deny lang yun ng taong yun.“Sinong gagawin kong witness,” tanong niya.
Dagdag niya, hindi niya ipapasa ang problema na nasa kamay niya ngayon sa kapwa niya judge. Proteksyun din ito sa ibang judge, sabi niya. Dito lang nagpapakita itong si Lorredo na siya ay may panindigan.
Maala-ala natin na nagpalabas si Lorredo ng kakaibang order para sa arraignment ng perjury case ni Lozada kung saan sinabi niya na itong kaso ay maa-aring humantong sa mas malaking gulo kung mapilit si Defensor na ituloy ang kaso at hindi naman uurong si Lozada.
Inakusahan ni Defensor si Lozada na nagsinungaling sa pagsabi ng hinikayat niya si Jun, ang pangunahing witness sa NBN/ZTE, na bumaligtad at sabihing hindi siya kinidnap ng mga pulis pagdating niya galing Hongkonng. Binigyan niya ng P50,000 si Lozada bilang “tulong” daw.
Sabi ni Lorredo ang baka gamitin ng Malacañang ang kaguluhan na mangyari sa kasong ito para magdeklara ng martial law. Sabi niya nababaling ang atensyon natin sa mga nakaka-aliw na bagay katulad ng kasal ni Judy Ann Santos at Ryan Agoncillo at ang nalalapit na kasal ni Sen. Mar Roxas at Korina Sanchez at hindi natin mapapansin ang naka-ambang panganib ng martial law.
Nang sabihin sa kanya ang mga patutsada sa kanya ni Justice Secretary Raul Gonzalez, sinabi niyang hindi niya sasaguting dahil siya ay may “breeding” o pinalaki siya ng maayos ng kanyang mga magulang.

Perhaps there’s a psychological explanation to that. Pakyaw grew up in hardship and without self-respect. Now that he has earned good bucks and high repute as a champion, he has forgotten his past. He is now drunk with accolades, and is further drowned by tons of money that keep on flowing to his bank account each time he finishes off a fighter.
Listen to how he looks at life. He now believes that by entering politics, he could help more people. He doesn’t realize that he could do more by investing his millions in a decent enterprise that will employ thousands of poor people.

If Pacman carries a diplomatic passport, he can bring out as much money as he wants. He may even be the courier of Singson and other syndicates.
Bringing it out is easy when you’ve got connections with the higher ups but even with a diplomatic passport, I don’t think he can do that… bringing with him in to another country more than the allowable amount of cash (US$ 10K). Unless he will report it to proper authorities or declares it. Foreign gov’ts. are very strict with this because of AMLA, especially the US.
