At this time of his life, it’s his faith in God that keeps Rodolfo “Jun” Lozada Jr. going.

The government has failed him. The country’s justice system turned against him. Many “friends” have abandoned him after they have used him for their agenda.

After his conviction to six to ten years in prison by the Sandiganbayan last week in the case involving the lease of idle lands when he was president of the Philippine Foreign Corporation, a teary-eyed Lozada said the decision was difficult to take but he is holding on to faith in God: “I once said before, eight years ago, one of the lessons I learned is that the opposite of fear is courage. In reality, the opposite of fear is faith. So I’m holding on to faith in God.”

Sister Mary John Mananzan, one of those who have consistently helped Lozada and his family all throughout Jun’s eight- year ordeal deal, said the case would not have materialized if he did not testify in the aborted corruption-tainted $329.5 million national broadband project with the Chinese firm, ZTE Corp.

“I’m sure of it. All the cases against him came out after he became witness. If it was really his crime, why wasn’t he charged when he was with PFC?” she asked.

Okay ba para senador si Jun Lozada?

Thinking of going into the political arena

Dati kasi, noong 2010, inisip niya noon tumakbo.

Ayan, may assignment na si Ambassador for Peace and Understanding Manny Pacquaio.

I will allow him to talk to Mike Defensor and Jun Lozada,” sabi niya.

Lorredo claims Palace wants him out of Lozada case

From Abs-CbnNEWS.com

lorredo Controversial Manila court judge Jorge Emmanuel Lorredo revealed Wednesday that someone from Malacañang is trying to persuade him to inhibit himself from the perjury case of NBN-ZTE star witness Rodolfo “Jun” Lozada.

“Kahit anong pressure ng Malacañang sa akin, hindi ako mag-inhibit (Malacañang cannot pressure me to inhibit),” Lorredo, presiding judge of the Manila Metropolitan Trial Court (MTC) Branch 26, said in an exclusive interview with ABS-CBN News.

Lorredo said that his refusal to inhibit from the case is also meant to protect his fellow magistrates at the Manila MTC.

Nakakahawa rin ang katapangan

Update: Judge Lorredo allowed Lozada to be under Senate custody.

detained

Rodolfo “Jun” Lozada, a star witness in the $329 mil-lion NBN/ZTE deal, could have easily posted P6,000 bail in the perjury case filed by Gloria Arroyo’s former chief of staff, Mike Defensor to avoid arrest.

But he did not, as a sign of protest. “This is the only way I can mount a protest that is not against the law,” he said.

Lozada is now confined in a small room, non-airconditioned at the second floor of the Manila Police headquarters on UN Avenue. Judge Emmanuel Lorredo of the Metropolitan Trial Court Branch 26 who issued the arrest warrant suddenly went on leave yesterday so the arraignment was re-scheduled on May 7.

One year after he survived abduction by a team led by an officer of the Philippine National Police, the tables are turned on Rodolfo “Jun” Lozada, one of the star witnesses in the aborted $329.5 million national broadband project with the Chinese firm, ZTE Corp.

Lozada is in danger of going to jail for the charges of perjury and graft filed against him by persons involved in his Feb. 5, 2008 abduction upon his arrival from Hongkong after he tried avoiding to testify before the Senate investigation on the reported overpriced telecommunication project.

He is embroiled in a theft case filed by a woman he swore he never met in his whole life.
