June 10, 5 pm on Ayala Avenue

Updates from the Inquirer:

1.. Rep. Mauricio Domogan, one of the authors of House Resolution No. 1109, said they are calling a constituent assembly (Con-ass) next month to amend the Constitution without the Senate despite outrage by religious and civil society groups.

2.Making sense of 1109 – Fr. Joaquin Bernas

There will be a protest action against Gloria Arroyo’s Con-Ass on Ayala Avenue on June 10, Wednesday starting at 5 p.m.

There will be simultaneous rallies in Katipunan Avenue (in front of Gate 2 of Ateneo) and in Tondo (Sto. Niño church) and in Negros and Iloilo.

Renato Reyes Jr, Bayan secretary general said those who have expressed their participation in the June 10 Ayala rally include the United Opposition, the Association of Major Religious Superiors of the Philippines (Women), BAYAN, Concerned Citizens Movement, Black and White Movement, Edsa 3 Coalition, Gabriela, Kabataan, MY-ERAP, Liberal Party, Change Politics, Akbayan, Sanlakas, Artists Revolution, Pagbabago, Bangon Pilipinas, FPJPM, Movement for Good Governance and Vice president Teofisto Guingona .

A dialogue with the Philippine National Police and rally organizers is set on Monday. Bayan, on behalf of the rally organizers, applied for a rally permit before the Makati City government last week.

Reyes said Bagong Alyansang Makabayan welcomes the statement of the Catholic Bishops Conference of the Philippines calling on various groups to push through with the scheduled peaceful protests against Charter change and Constituent Assembly being pushed by the House of Representatives.

“This is a welcome statement. There are now efforts in the various provinces and regions to mount protest actions together with the religious and the Opposition. We’re reaching out and organizing provincial and regional activities to coincide with the June 10 Ayala rally.”

“The nationwide rallies are expected to be peaceful and organized but the outrage will certainly be there. Rain or shine, we will march against Con-Ass,” he added.

“There is now a broad consensus among many political, religious, civic and professional organizations that what is happening with Charter change and Con-ass is wrong. The only way to thwart this self-serving scheme is to go out and protest,” Reyes said.

Bayan slammed the Palace line that it had nothing to do with the Con-Ass measure at the House of Representatives and the Congress was an independent body.

“The Palace is not involved? That’s pure hogwash. Nobody believes them. You can see by the way the Lower House rushed the measure. It usually takes a higher power to achieve an almost perfect attendance in Batasan, much more to get those congressmen to actually stay and vote as one. You can tell with the way the congressmen voted. They were given marching orders,” Reyes said.

“And it is clear that Mrs. Arroyo remains the principal beneficiary of any amendment in the constitution. The people are not stupid,” he added.

Pls dont go to the rally. mahahawa kayo ng swine flu.

This is the text i got today. Grabe na ang siraan at takutan. I’m so disappointed with how pr people work to destroy the enemy. Such a callous and arrogant way of using power. I pity our country.

  2. We here in Baguio are also getting ready to launch our own rally on that same day…we are hopeful that we can muster enough attendance to send a strong signal to our so-called representative,Domogan, that we did not like the way he represented us in the Congress..he ought to be ashame!!!

  3. Rosa Rosa

We will be following the rallies on the internet and TV news and will be with you in spirit. Domogan ang Dangwa are not worthy to represent the proud Igorots and people of Cordillera.

LUSIS!

  5. Rosa Rosa

Bayan ko as our rousing anthem for these rallies. We are at the tipping point of Filipino rage.

  6. Liwayway-Gawgaw Liwayway-Gawgaw

  7. Scaring bluff, that big big BS’ing of media practioner liars, this pronouncement of warning are just to cover those SWINES in the congress, for thier mistakes against the people of the republic.WhAT I heard from the Head of the Members of the lower house,”People are mandating them to pursue of Con-ASS,is he stepping in a wrong planet or dreaming while talking on thru phones on a TV interviews. Ler’s say he was on this planet,he garner the voices of the INSTANT NOODLES(malungay w/fresh eggs kuno)voters which mostly after on HAND OUT.

  11. Some we called religious sector won’t go along the calls of the masses due they are benafactors of ROBBING HOODS of the national treasury, they preached for money only, collects in both ways, from members and endorsement.Visualized only how much depletion of thier coffer if they make wrong moves. How many of thier members CONTRIBUTION/DONATIONS,equivalent to one candidate monies endorsement. These religious leader are not dumb,to risk the “Collections”.They put always themself in a WIN-WIN situations.Thier bargaining chips are members votes.

  12. chit chit

  13. Liwayway-Gawgaw Liwayway-Gawgaw

  15. ron ron

I’ll be joining the rally no matter what, our future and our childrens future are at stake here.

  26. THE SMOKING GUN
This is the actual text of the draft of the new constitution as created by Malacañang

    ARTICLE VI – THE PARLIAMENT

    SECTION 3
    (1) The Members of the Parliament shall be elected by the qualified electors in their respective districts, except those under the Partylist, for a term of five years without limit as to the number thereof, which shall begin, unless otherwise provided by law, at noon on the thirtieth day of June next following their election.

  27. saxnviolins saxnviolins

Totoo yan.

Why? Because there will be transitory provisions proposed by the Cha cha. Again, they will be copying the playbook of Macoy.

The 1973 Constitution had the following transitory provisions:

Section 1. There shall be an Interim National Assembly which shall exist immediately upon the ratification of this Constitution and shall continue until the Members of the regular National Assembly shall have been elected and shall have assumed office following an election called for the purpose by the Interim National Assembly. Except as otherwise provided in this Constitution, the Interim National Assembly shall have the same powers and its Members shall have the same functions, responsibilities, rights, privileges, and disqualifications as the regular National Assembly and the Members thereof.

Section 2. The Members of the Interim National Assembly shall be the incumbent President and Vice-President of the Philippines, those who served as President of the nineteen hundred and seventy-one Constitutional Convention, those Members of the Senate and the House of Representatives who shall express in writing to the Commission on Elections within thirty days after the ratification of this Constitution their option to serve therein, and those Delegates to the nineteen hundred and seventy-one Constitutional Convention who have opted to serve therein by voting affirmatively for this Article. They may take their oath of office before any officer authorized to administer oaths and who qualify thereto, after the ratification of this Constitution.

  28. saxnviolins saxnviolins

  29. roger roger

thats the best news i have heard so far…the rally on the10th, what will be now the marching order of the pnp from the palace, this we shall see, sana maka punta dito mga from nearby province, at sigurado haharangin nila as they used to, hope the leaders of the rally can think of different ways to get their people here… harassment ang mangyayari nyan,,, lumaban tayo sa mga harassment na yan,,

  31. Balweg Balweg

Yes…yeheey June 10 is a happiest day in my life kasi folks birthday ko yan, sige banatan lahat yang mga tongressman na yan at isama pati yong mga taga-suporta ng rehime.

    NO Con-Asshole…..

    ARTICLE XVIII – TRANSITORY PROVISIONS
    Section 8.

From the ratification of the foregoing Amendments to June 30, 2010, the incumbent President shall continue to exercise the same powers as she has now, except those she will delegate to the Prime Minister who shall serve as chief operating officer of the government, conformably with the Parliamentary system.

    ******************

Hayup, diba, walang limit. Hindi sinabi kung kelan siya papalitan. Gloria Forever talaga!

  33. Nag-iimbita si Juana Change. Ang tawag nila ay TindigNation on June 10, 2009 at Ayala cor Paseo de Roxas Avenues, Makati City, 5:00PM. Huwag matakot sa ulan, galing iyan sa Langit. Matakot tayo sa 1109, galing yan sa impiyerno!

  34. Balweg Balweg

    folks,

  35. But as usual, expect Malacanang and AFP to come up with another threatening scenario that the rally might be infiltrated by criminal elements or terrorists. Or Malacanang could organize paid participants in a pro-Cha Cha rally to counter the opposition. Let’s learn the lessons from the past. Worse scenario is to use force to disperse the crowd.

  36. saxnviolins saxnviolins

From the ratification of the foregoing Amendments to June 30, 2010, the incumbent President shall continue to exercise the same powers as she has now, except those she will delegate to the Prime Minister who shall serve as chief operating officer of the government, conformably with the Parliamentary system.

Mukhang may taning Tongue, dahil sabi, from the ratification (up) to June 30, 2010. Kaya lang, yung susunod, sabi: “expect those she will delegate…”

Mayroong ibibigay. Hindi obligation tulad ng “shall”. Again, Gloria forever talaga.

  37. patria adorada patria adorada

  39. PORAC, Pampanga, Philippines – President Arroyo will make her 16th visit to her home province this year amid talks of her becoming prime minister in a shift to a parliamentary form of government.

The Philippine Information Agency (PIA) in Central Luzon sent yesterday advisories to local media on the presidential visit to this town within the second district where she is a registered voter.

Speculations are flying thick that the constitutional assembly (con-ass) being pushed by the House of Representatives would lead to a parliamentary system wherein Mrs. Arroyo could be elected prime minister.

    >>>>now is the time to prove your love for our country.
    ….ang mamatay ng dahil sa’yo!<<<<<

I will tweak this a little bit to be more appropriate:

  41. sax,
hinimay ko nang husto, wala akong makitang provision on the manner of replacing the president, save for impeachment. Walang presidential elections na nabanggit. Except for the first term wherein she and her VP automatically becomes MP via the transitory provisions. After she is elected president by the MPs, she leaves Parliament and her party. And the VP conducts an election for PM. Meanwhile, the slot she vacated is given to Mikey, whom I suspect will be voted PM.

The president can even abolish Parliament. Matindi.

  42. Mike Mike

Bro. Mike Velarde of El Shaddai has spoken against Con-Ass. He said that they will make their move in due time. I hope he and his group joins the rally this coming June 10 in Makati.

  43. Mike Mike

    Tongue,
Just wanted to know where you got the info on the draft of Gloria’s constitution? Maybe you or someone should send it to news agencies, and let those con-assers and rapists deny it in public.

  44. karl marcus zara karl marcus zara

As they did in the past, the Slex and Nlex entry and exit points by the PNP assisted by the AFP. Checkpoints and chokepoints will mushroom to prevent people from going to rally sites. Rallyists should bring antidote to teargases and also please beware, they may even utilize Malabanan’s fertilizer. Those Generals under Glorias’s padded payroll will do everything to thwart the people’s will in support of this evil regime.

  45. From ABS-CBN News:
Sec. Cerge Remonde: Arroyo not running in 2010 elections.

OK ang statement mo Cerge Remonde, but are you Gloria Macapagal Arroyo? What your mahal na panggulo said during the Kampi-Lakas merger, there will be 2010 elections. But did she categorically says she’s not running? At kahit sumumpa pa syang she will not run in any position, who’s going to believe her this time? Baka hindi mo alam o nagmamaang-maangan lang, lahat na sinasabi ninyo, lahat na binibitiwang pangungusap ni Gloria Arroyo is all unbilibaboy!

  46. Ka Enchong Ka Enchong

“We would like to reiterate the position of Malacañang that that matter is with Congress… that is not initiated by Malacañang,” said the presidential spokesman. -ABS CBN News

Sus!

  47. Remonde: “Arroyo not running…”

Oo naman. Of course she need not run. After all, she and Noliboy will become automatic Members of Parliament via the Transitory Provision I quoted above.

They have also been saying no extension to Gloria, too.
Of course they will not extend her presidency. The Parliament will vote her for a fresh mandate without limit as to length and count. No extension but re-election,

You are all sooo predictable, idiots.

  48. Right, the Evil Bitch is not running…she would just continue or selected as PM.

I watched the 2nd ANC Leadership Forum and was impressed by Loren Legarda. A Legarda-Binay team is not too bad.

  49. I don’t like Loren Legarda.

  50. So do I. But as I said, I was impressed with her intelligence and platform. Of course saying it and doing it are two different things.

  51. roger roger

    legarda???????????????????
parang wala tayo pinalit sa palace…

  52. BALUGANGGALA BALUGANGGALA

    Chabeli,

Let us start a shame campaign sa mga taong ito, we can start by avoiding them na parang salot, when they are around, leave the place, and make it known, by saying “ALIS NA AKO/TAYO MAY SALOT DITO” or “ALIS NA AKO/TAYO MAY SALOT NA DUMATING”.

Sama tayong lahat sa June 10 Rally , I’ll be at the Ateneo Gate.

  53. ron ron

If i know kating-kating pa yan sa pwesto nya kasi di pa sya nakukuntento sa mga nakukurakot nya!

  54. Suprisingly, I don’t see Palparan’s name on the list. Wasn’t he just taken his office as Congressman?

  55. habib habib

bitchevil, huwag kayong magtaka.

  56. boyner boyner

I hope the June 10 rallies particularly the one in Makati would be massive otherwise the evil bitch sociopath and her puppets in Congress will think that they have the support of the people.
Let us disseminate the information to as many people as we can by email, phone calls, going around the neighborhood etc etc.

  57. habib habib

Let’s make June 10 the Liberation of Masses from Claws of the Tyrants. The True Independence of the Filipino People. A race with Dignity, Honor and Integrity.

    Enough of gloria arroyo’s excesses!

Ang kawawa na naman nito would be the men and women who would be tasked to defend the barricades. Wala silang choice. Kahit pa their sentiment is with those on the other side of the barricade, they have no choice but to do their assigned tasks. Otherwise, sila ang iipitin ng mga nakatataas.

For a change, would it not be possible for those in Congress who voted for the passage of HR 1109 to defend their votes in the barricades, if they really believe in the importance of that Resolution?

Beloved and Honorable Congressmen!!! Would you please join the police and soldiers in the barricades? Fight for your votes!! Magpaluan tayo dun!!!

  64. Enciong Enciong

    Dishonorable Tong-gressmen and Representa-thieves,

Fight for what you deem is right!! Go to the barricades!! Fight for your votes!! Convince us!!

  65. Enciong Enciong

    Kaibigang Bayong,

Finally. Secretary Raul Gonzalez has been replaced as Secretary of Justice by Solicitor General Agnes Devanadera. The turnover date is on June 15 but Raul is asking for more time. Gonzalez will go to Malacañang as Presidential Legal Counsel. It is not yet clear where Jess Dureza will be transferred to.

It has been reported that FG was very angry at the clearing of Ted Failon by the NBI/DoJ.

  70. AbKi AbKi

BE, If what you say is true, then it just goes to show the very thin line between pleasing the first bopol, este, couple and reap the benefits of their good graces, as against being a bit out of sync with their already-hatched “sound judgement” against anybody they dislike.
But then hey, siRAULo Gonzales had been a pain-in-the-ass since being the alter-ego of the bitching witch for far as we are concerned, so who cares ? A senile ass-licker as presidential legal aide…..wow, this is true desperation.
But it would not be a walk in the park altogether. AGNES DEVANADERA is no different from gonzales. They both march to the same tune that gloria croaks. Agnes D. not only marches to the same tune……she is also the bastonera.
    Same PIG, different collar.

Strike while the iron is hot!

  73. Chris Halliwell Chris Halliwell

Gumawa naman kayong sakripisyo to voice out your complaints to the government. Ang bansang Pilipinas din ang makikinabang, so go out and join!!!

    Tangnanay niya! Nanggagago pa! Pwe!

  80. saxnviolins saxnviolins

  81. Diego K. Guerrero Diego K. Guerrero

The Evil Bitch is not running in 2010. She would be walking.

  83. Why is Malacanang allowing the PNP in blocking those from the provinces who want to join the rally? As usual, the reason being given is to ensure no criminal elements and terrorists are in Makati. Son of a Bitch !

  84. Kim Kim

Are they really/all PNP, or some of them may be soldiers in police uniform ? Be very careful, Gen. Brawner and Gen. Pangilinan. We will see if you and your “professionals” are really apolitical.
With corrupted men (and women) in uniform, it will be hard to distinguish between the police/military with the so-called criminal elements/terrorists.

  85. Just like in the previous rallies, Malacanang may disallow media to cover the Makati rally by sky patrol (helicopter).

  86. Presidential guards and police turned Malacañang complex in Manila into a virtual garrison, barricading roads with container vans and concertina wire ahead of protest rallies against the Arroyo administration.

I just saw a delayed news telecast of “24 ORAS” on TV, and in the news was the fu***ng shithole called gloria arroyo being feted by the FEDERATION OF FILIPINO-CHINESE CHAMBER OF COMMERCE for her full and undeniable support of the Cha-cha. The Chinese spokesperson praised gloria to high heavens because, as the Chinese guy said, “it is about time to change the charter” to improve the economy of the Philippines. What can I say ?
I mean what did we expect ? The despicable dwarf is a fu***ng perrenial liar. And she had the gall to attend that gathering. Apparently, she still thinks we are all stupid.
Lokohin nila ang mga lelang nila, assholes !!!

  92. bitchevil bitchevil

And of course this Donald Duck Dee has always been a Malacanang dog.
