PNoy at blast site.

Sabi ni Nonoy Espina: “The rich are truly different from you and me… sumabog lang ang apartment, personal presidential order na. Matupok man libo-libong dampa, ni singhot wala.”

Meron ding pumalakpak.

Sabin ni Arnel P. Casanova, presidente at chief executive officer ng Bases Conversion and Development Authority, na siyang may-ari datin ng lupa na kintatayuan ng Serendra,” It is comforting to see President Aquino himself on top of the situation on the site and the entire government and private sector working together to address the situation in a very efficient and expeditious manner. “

Kumento ni Carlito Bisa :I hope the president could also visit the squatters na nasusunugan at maralitang nabibiktima ng karahasan.”

    katakataka pa ba?

    sus!

  4. The last time an explosion occurred in that neighborhood was a few months ago – January or February when police said the explosion at Two Parkade was caused by gas leak. Two Parkade is about two blocks away from Two Serendra.

Serendra is owned by Ayala Land, a company not new to explosions like this, e.g. the celebrated case of the Glorietta explosion in 2007 which killed more than 10 people. Conflicting theories were offered by PNP, and foreign experts. And local expurtz like me covered this extensively in my now defunct blog.

The final stupid explanation that was accepted was that by Luizo Ticman (did I spell that right?) of the PNP saying it was a methane and diesel explosion but cannot explain how it happened.

    Kaya nga stupid e.

They ended up filing cases against people working in the area, and City Hall EXCEPT for Ayala Land employees.

What do I think will be the outcome of this investigation in Serendra? Nothing. Except more stupid findings maybe.

  5. Tongue, I remember you did an incisive article on the Glorietta blast. Could you report the link here? Or pls send the articel to me by email.

    Thanks.

Why can’t gas experts ID right away if it was so? If gas was not the cause ay move on na from there to other possible causes.

Just asking.

  7. And this is the final post on the matter summarizing the different reports of the investigators both local and foreign. I found many of my theories supported by the data of Ayala’s expert, Dr. Etheridge. That it was not caused by diesel and that the amount of methane, and the physical arrangement of the equipment in the basement does not support the methane theory either.

Of course, the police came out with its defective conclusion, like it validated Iggy’s signatures as those of Jose Pidal when clearly those were not.

The incident however, was effective in, again, suppressing political discontent at the time when the sham impeachment courtesy of Rep. Marcoleta and Oliver Lozano and brown bag moolah distribution in Malacanang were hot topics.

It’s also worth noting that the Glorietta bombing happened a few days after FVR gave a fiery press con, vowing to make a huge exposé (purportedly against the Gloria Arroyo regime) upon his return from his overseas trip. Of course, we now know that Tabako never revealed anything explosive as promised.
