Sa gitna ng nangyayari ngayon na kapalpakan ng Commission on Election at Smartmatic kung saan 76,000 na makina ang hindi gumana sa testing na ginawa noong mga nakaraang araw, kailangang-kailangan na magkaroon ng Senate president na ang termino ay hanggang 2013.
Ito ang panawagan kahapon ng Concerned Citizens Movement sa senado: “Elect a Senate president with a mandate beyond June 30, 2010 in the event of no elections. We cannot and must not have a power vacuum.”
Mahalaga ito kahit na sinabi ng Comelec na maayos na raw ang problema sa memory cards bago mag-Biyernes ngayong Linggo at tuloy na, mabuti na hindi dapat magkaroon ng power vacuum. Yung sitwasyon na walang legal na mamumuno.
Kapag magkaroon kasi ng power vacuum, kung sino lang ang may suporta ng military o ang military mismo ay maaring pumasok para magkaroon ng awtoridad na magpatakbo ng pamahalaan.
Kapag mangyari yan, goodbye democracy na ang Pilipinas.
Hindi tayo dapat makarating dyan.
Ayon sa Constitution natin, kung magkaroon ng bakante sa presidente at bise-presidente, ang sunod na dapat mamuno ay ang Senate President. Kung wala namang Senate President ay ang Speaker ng House of Representatives.
Ang Senate President at ang Speaker ay acting president lang at dapat tumawag sila ng sesyon ng Kongreso para tumakda ng bagong eleksyun.
Ang Senate president ngayon ay si Juan Ponce-Enrile na tumatakbo para sa pangalawang termino dahil ang kanyang unanag termino ay hanggang June 30, 2010 lang. Kaya kung hindi magkaroon ng ibang senate president at magka-problema sa eleksyon sa Lunes at walang madeklarang presidente, malamang si Gloria Arroyo, na malamang magiging speaker, ang magiging acting president.
Magwawala ang taumbayan.
Maiwasan ito lahat kung ang Senado ay magkaroon ng bagong Senate President. Labin-dalawa ang senador na hanggang 2013 ang termino: sina Chiz Escudero, Edgardo Angara, Francis Pangilinan, Alan Peter Cayetano, Gregorio Honasan, Joker Arroyo, Panfilo Lacson, Antonio Trillanes IV,Miguel Zubiri,Benigno Aquino III, Manuel Villar, Loren Legarda.
Para siguro medyo katanggap-tanggap, ang pipiliin na bagong Senate president ay yung hindi tumatakbo. Pwede siguro si Chiz Escudero.
Hindi naman kailangan mag-special session. Pwede nang resolusyon na pirmado ng hindi bababa sa 13 miyembro ng Senado.
Sinabi naman ni Enrile na mahal niya ang bayan. Sana bago Lunes meron nang bagong Senate President.
Si Enrile, bibitiw bilang senate chief??? Maybe, pero most likely he will take his time, sa tingin ko papa-cute muna yan kahit matanda na. Baka June 29 siya bibitiw. Medyo kulang na rin sa pansin. 🙂

Kaya ang panukala ng CCM ay hindi kasali yung mga tumatakbo sa eleksiyon. Palagay ba ninyo may magpapailalaim sa ganyang kondisyon? Malabo.

Churning things in my brain… I’ve got questions:
If Villar becomes acting pres by default, how long will/must he do it? Is there a time frame? Or is it contingent upon the resolution of the problematic counting of votes?
If there’s a failure of election or whatever and that Villar becomes acting pres, could this, in fact, have been the scenario all along?
In such a case, naive as I may sound, I can’t see the logic behind deliberately messing up of the most important collective national enterprise as the presidential election to give powers to an individual, 3rd in line to presidency notwithstanding, while the whole world is watching. Surely, these people must realise that such a move will not taken not only by Pinoys locally and abroad but by foreign govts as well?
The whole precept that despite the odds, powers that be are prepared to run the country to the ground for the sake of a political ambition just is mindboggling…
(They must really think Pinoys will be forced to accept the status quo after all Gloria did it for 10 years running…)

Just an opinion, if Noynoy wins. it won’t be too long that these civil societies will disintegrate themselves especially if they have conflicting interests. Noynoy is running on an anti-corruption campaign. Ganyan,din si Cory nung 1986, look what happended after how many months. maraming dissatisfied lalo na sa AFP kaya nga m,araming coup noon araw.

There’s a very strong probability indeed that might happen given that corruption cannot be eradicated overnight.
I think, one has to make a choice and given the options that we have, the risk of not making a stand against Gloria and her cabal who are, in all propability, planning to collectively do the unthinkable, may be a worse option to take.

Kaya natin ito…No RETREAT, No SURRENDER, tuloy ang laban till saan tayo umabot o abutin ng takip-silim ang ating adhikain na magkaroon ng tunay na pagbabago sa ating lipunan.
Kailangang magsimula tayo sa ibaba, i mean kailangan nating tulungan ang ating mga kababayan na kandado ang pag-iisip na mamulat sa katotohanan.
