Alam ko naman na darating na rin talaga ang oras na kailangan nang pumunta sa pupuntahan natin lahat. Palagi ko iniisip, paano ngayon kung tanungin ako ng Panginoon, ano ang ginawa mo sa bonus na binigay ko sa iyo?

CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY – After the shock and the tears, people here and in Iligan City are starting to pick up the pieces and rebuild their lives two weeks after tropical storm Sendong ravaged their homes and their land.
Lack of sufficient water supply, electricity and other basic necessities, did not stop the survivors of Sendong from moving on.
“We lost our house, clothes, everything. It’s s hard but we have no choice but to move on,”said Jocena Kanood who lost her home in Isla de Oro.

The Ombudsman yesterday charged Gloria Arroyo, her husband Mike Arroyo, and two other officials of her government – former Commission on Elections Benjamin Abalos and former Transportation and Communications Secretary Leandro Mendoza, for violations of the Anti-Graft and Corrupt Practices Act (R.A. 3019).
Arroyo was also accused of violating the Code of Conduct and Ethical Standards for Public Officials and Employees (R.A 6713).

The graft charges filed by the Ombudsman against former President Gloria Macapagal Arroyo before the Sandiganbayan will be raffled off next week.
“The Office of the Ombudsman has requested a special raffle today but it was disapproved by the presiding judge. Instead, it was rescheduled for January 2, Monday,” said Sandiganbayan spokesperson Renato Bocar.
The case stems from the graft complaint filed by Bayan Muna Representative Teddy Casiño in connection with the National Broadband Network (NBN) deal with China’s ZTE Corporation.
“There were 3 criminal information which were filed against the former president. One was for violation of Section 3-G of the Anti-Graft and Corrupt Practices Act. This is for entering into a contract, the NBN-ZTE contract, which is manifestly disadvantageous to the government of the Philippines,” Bocar said.
With a stronger legal team, he need not resort to making us believe it is good governance to bend the law to make Gloria Arroyo accountable for the crimes she committed against the Filipino people.
In an interview with ANC’s Lynda Jumilla, Aquino said his legal team is “being improved.”
No names were mentioned but it’s being talked about for some time that many of the lawyers in Aquino’s official family including Justice Secretary Leila de Lima is not happy with Solicitor General Jose Anselmo Cadiz.

I was talking with Mindanao-based photo-journalist Erwin Mascariñas, who brought us heart-rending images of the tragedy wrought by storm Sendong in Cagayan de Oro and Iligan, the other day and telling him that I felt awkward greeting him “Merry Christmas” when I know that he is surrounded by grief and suffering.
Erwin was not spared of Sendong’s wrath. While he was out taking pictures, floodwaters entered his house and ruined all their things. He said he is thankful for the donations of clothes which he and members of his family are now wearing.
