May tinatagong kababalaghan

Jinggoy Estrada at Sen.

Ganoon sina Labor Secretart Arturo Biron, Budget Secretary Rolando ANDAYA Jr., Foreign Undersecretaru Esteban Conejos Jr., Defense Undersecretary Ricardo Blancaflor at Rosalinda Baldoz, administrator ng Philippine Overseas Employment Administration.

  1. Statement from Sen. Richard Gordon:

    GORDON WANTS FULL ACCOUNT
    ON OFWS TRAPPED IN LEBANON

Sen. Richard Gordon yesterday asked the departments of labor and employment and of foreign affairs to give an account of just how many Filipinos are still in Lebanon and what is being done to quickly evacuate them from that war-torn country in the Middle East.

Gordon expressed his concern during a briefing held by officials of the Department of Foreign Affairs and the Department of Labor and Employment at the office of Vice President Noli de Castro on government efforts to evacuate the Filipinos in Lebanon.

Gordon bewailed the slowness in organizing the Filipino workers for immediate evacuation. He suggested that the government agencies concerned should use the churches as refuge for the Filipinos in Lebanon.

He also suggested an intensified information campaign among the Filipinos to inform them of the plans for evacuation. He asked that the Filipino refugees be made to fill forms to give their personal data, such as contact numbers and residence in Lebanon, to serve as database for a more methodical and rapid evacuation.

Gordon, who is concurrently chairman of the Philippine National Red Cross, disclosed that he has already made arrangements with the International Committee of the Red Cross, the Lebanese Red Cross and the Red Crescent Society to assist Filipinos in seeking safety.

Looking forward, Gordon asked DOLE to draw up a plan for giving alternative employment to Filipinos who would lose their jobs as a result of the war in Lebanon.

The briefing was chaired by Vice President de Castro, who has been designated by President Arroyo as overall in charge of the evacuation efforts. Others who attended were Executive Secretary Eduardo Ermit, DFA Secretary Alberto Romulo, DOLE Secretary Arturo Brion, Undersecretary Esteban Cornejos Jr., OWWA chief Marianito Roque and Senators Lapid, Revilla, Recto, Cayetano and Enrile.

  2. Statement of Senate President Manny Villar:
VILLAR: OWWA OWES EVERYONE AN EXPLANATION
They should attend resumption of Senate probe on Monday

Senate President Manny Villar echoes the sentiments of his
fellow senators and remains firm that officials from the Overseas
Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA) and other Cabinet members who
snubbed Monday¡¯s Senate probe on the OWWA funds should ¡®face the
music¡¯ if they want to prove that they have nothing to hide.

¡°Had they appeared during Monday¡¯s Senate hearing, most of
the clouds of doubts hanging over people¡¯s heads would have been
cleared. It would have been a perfect opportunity for them to
straighten things out. But what¡¯s worse than not showing up is
holding their own press conference on the same day, when the excuse
they used on the letter was that they were busy with evacuation of
    OFWs,¡± says Villar.

Villar, upon the recommendation of chairman of the Senate
Committee on Labor, Employment and Human Resources, signed the
subpoenas issued to Cabinet officials who failed to show up in
    Monday¡¯s hearing. These are OWWA Administrator Marianito Roque;
Foreign Affairs Undersecretary Esteban Conejos; Labor Secretary
Arturo Brion; Budget Secretary Rolando Andaya Jr.; Philippine
    Overseas Employment Administration (POEA) Chief Rosalinda Baldoz;
and Ricardo Blancaflor, Undersecretary of the Office of the
    Executive Secretary.

¡°As the Senate President, I have to sign the subpoenas. I
respect the recommendation of the committee chairman consistent with
my goal to give Senate committees freedom to do what needs to be
done. But as to whether we would issue warrants of arrest, we don¡¯t
want to speculate on that. We also don¡¯t want to fuel to the flame,
    so to speak,¡± cites Villar.

Villar further cites, ¡°It would have really been less
complicated had they not snubbed our invitation. Actually, these
officials are not the ones who are important, the funds are. People
are concerned about the funds, not them. I hope they would show up
in the resumption of the OWWA funds hearing on Monday. Once and for
all, this issue should be straightened out. OWWA owes us, especially
    the OFWs, an explanation.¡±

Some of the concerned officials have conducted private or
closed-door briefings to some senators, but according to Villar,
they still need to face the Senate as a whole in the committee
    hearing.

¡°If they want to brief senators privately, that¡¯s their
concern. Whatever they do with their time¡ªthat is their concern.
But the Senate as a whole follows a formal procedure. If they are
invited to attend a hearing, they should at least show up. They are
still accountable to the Senate as a whole,¡± adds Villar.

“Gordon wants full account…” Gordon will only get when fake Gloria is ready to give up the info and not ’till then. Gordon is only a Senator and Gloria is the queen and has the golden rules. So, Gordon tough sh.t. When you got the backbone to deal with Gloria’s arrogance that’s when you can demand. Gloria can be deaf and blind, and quite good in playing the game started even before Gloria stole Malacanang. Yet, these Senators has not learn a bit from the past. The Senators must take off the gloves and should’ve an all out plans to finish, if the Senators wishes to win the battle over Gloria. Or, they can be as do nothing Senate like they’ve been all along. When the like of Garci, Bolate, Bunyeta, Sira-ulo, Chavit, just to name the few, made a mockery of the Senate, nothing else can be expected from the Senate but the usual white flag and lots of meaningless rhetoric just to let us know that they’re not sleeping on the job.

Needless to say Gloria has been doing whatever pleases her and law matter not. Gloria doesn’t care about the law or the truth, all she want is her enchanted kingdom of Malacanang. Therefore, majority of OFW’s will be left stranded in war torn Lebanon for months/years to come and we’ll still arguing of how to evacuate them. Gloria is a liar and we should’ve known if by now. She’ll not do anything to save all the Pilipinos in Lebanon, all she got is lip services.

What’s Gordon, Magsaysay and Villar will do that Malacanang snubbed them once again? Aren’t the Senators getting tired of this silly childish game?

Transparency and accountablity on the OWWA funds – that’s what most of us, OFWs are asking. OWWA Administrator Marianito Roque must explain where is the 8 Billion Pesos OWWA funds.

  6. Diego K. Guerrero Diego K. Guerrero

I think OWWA and DOLE officials may have something to hide in disbursing OWWA trust fund. OFW trust fund is intended for health care and other benefits for OWWA members and families NOT to finance electioneering and presidential junkets abroad. There is no valid reason to evade congressional hearing in aid of legislation. Well, if these top officials are busy then send assistant secretaries and deputies to the Senate. Congenital liar Gloria Arroyo wants an Executive -Legislative gridlock to buy time for her crimes against the Filipino people. Where’s the money? Malacanang Palace has mastered the art of juggling of funds (HOCUS FOCUS) and vanishing act. Remember the Hello Garci political scandal and Joc-Joc Bolante’s fertilizer scam. The Arroyo government’s resources and puppet officials are involved in the cover-up and their escape. There’s a strong possibility that OWWA trust fund is bankrupt. It’s one of the milking cow whomever in power. You can run but you cannot hide forever.

  7. npongco npongco

All that Bichara could say was “I’m sorry” like what his boss said on that Garci tape. Mel Gibson also said “I’m sorry” for his anti-semite remarks. Peope don’t want to hear “I’m sorry” anymore. It’s not enough. They want detailed explanation. They want action. Gloria should also say “I’m sorry” for not disclosing her true state of health.
Below was what Imee Marcos suggested:

Imee to GMA: Don’t be like my dad, reveal your true state of health
    By Delon Porcalla
    The Philippine Star 08/03/2006

The lawmaker-daughter of the late President Ferdinand Marcos, who concealed his lupus illness during the last years of his 20-year reign, urged President Arroyo yesterday to make public her true state of health to prevent further speculations.

“My unsolicited advice for her is to seek medical attention now before it’s too late. I urge Malacañang to level with the people and go public with full details of the President’s health. The people deserve to know how serious Mrs. Arroyo’s illness is,” said Ilocos Norte Rep. Imee Marcos, a member of the House opposition bloc.

“I don’t want Mrs. Arroyo to bear the same pain my father endured for reasons of national security,” Marcos said.

What happens next if Malacanang officials refuse to attend the Senate hearing? Executive Secretary General Eduardo Ermita insists that DOLE, OWWA and DFA will not attend Monday hearing. Let’s hope that the newly installed Philippine Senate President Manuel Villar will not bow to bogus President Gloria Arroyo’s wishes and game plan. The Arroyo administration has insulted and defied the Senate inquiry several times. This illegal and childish act must stop.

TO: Senate President Manuel Villar, please show to the free world that Philippine democracy is not a big joke. ARREST and SEND these bureaucrats to jail if they defy congressional subpoena without valid reason/s. These officials are not elected public officials and must respect the authority of the senate as an institution. You (senators of the republic) have a national mandate to protect the interests of the Filipino people. Maraming salamat po. Long Live Democracy!

  9. I cannot understand why the Senate does not call the Midget to answer the questions on the missing OWWA funds and why should she be exempted from the rule especially when the Supreme Court has already ruled out her EO to be illegal since she is the only one most capable of answering what she herself had done to the missing OWWA funds. Why are they not calling for Pat Sto. Tomas likewise when she should have known about this anomaly as she was the Labor Secretary at the time the Midget plundered this fund for her election campaign. There were actually reports then of the funds being transferred to the Health department for making those health cards with the picture of the Midget on the health card to be distributed to wannabe voters, especially those from the depressed areas.

It’s amazing how this is now being exposed even when indeed the OWWA funds should not have been proposed to be used for the evacuation of the OFWs stranded in Lebanon considering the fact that not all of the 30,000 Filipinos there have paid for these funds collected from legal OFWs. The inability of the Philippine government to declare exactly how much money the Philippine government has left in the country ‘s coffers and how much can be afforded to be released for this operation is enough to tell tales about the missing OWWA funds, and other government funds for that matter, that should now indeed be investigated fully and the guilty ones duly punished for their crimes against the people of the Republic of the Philippines

Newspaper reports say that 2 out of 3 of these OFWs are actually undocumented but it does not mean that they should not be evacuated and saved since they remit monies to their relatives that somehow benefit the Philippine government through the PNB, Metrobank and Landbanks even when these banks likewise operate illegally for not having the proper permits to operate as foreign exchange dealers in countries like Japan, etc. However, as they are illegal, I doubt if they are required to pay all those fees that OFWs normally pay to the POEA and OWWA. In most cases, their only contributions to Philippine economy are their remittances.

Most likely a lot many of these illegal Filipinos are hiding from authorities in Lebanon, and with the staff of the Philippine Embassy there gone by now, they must be feeling abandoned and neglected with nobody to help and save them. Hopefully, they will be able to get help from some international organizations now trying to help the refugees there. I pray that they will have the wisdom now to NOT depend anymore on their neglectful officials and use their natural instincts and good sense to save their lives.

Hopefully, Senator Gordon, as an official of the Philippine Red Cross, should be able to put up a special task force to track down these OFWs through their relatives in the Philippines. He should make announcements in the newspapers about this operation through the Red Cross or the IOM office in Manila.

National Security? Manigas siya!

The Tulfo brothers are now up in arms against the country’s number one Mob Boss, the Fat Guy Mike. The Tulfos especially the eldest Mon should now work hand in hand with Senator Lacson and dig deeper into the Fat Guy’s tons of criminal activities.

‘Malicious,’ Mike Arroyo says of Tulfos’ charges

President Arroyo’s husband Jose Miguel “Mike” Arroyo yesterday described as “malicious” the allegations raised by four brother-jour-nalists that he is into influence-peddling and smuggler-coddling.

The First Gentleman, through his lawyer-spokesman Jesus Santos, denied he had caused the cancellation of the television programs on state-controlled RPN 9 of Ramon, Raffy, Erwin and Ben Tulfo.

He also denied that he was responsible for the pullout of the Marine bodyguards of Ramon.

Off topic: Was Mel Gibson telling the truth?

LOS ANGELES, Alta California – – (ACN) Mel Gibson is telling the truth when he said to a Los Angeles County Sheriff July 29, 2006 that “The Jews are responsible for all the wars in the world” during the early morning hours of July 28 near his home in Malibu, California. God bless Mel Gibson for his courage!

Mr. Gibson, producer and director of the highly successful film “The Passion of the Christ”, has again provided a great service to the world by utilizing his celebrity status in stating a truth that most ordinary gentiles are afraid to say. Mel Gibson is now being crucified, as was done during the production of his film on Jesus Christ, for saying a very inconvenient truth about world Jewry, especially during the current Israeli murderous rampage in Lebanon.

It did not take long for the Jewish dominated media to inflict pain on Mel Gibson for his statement. One reporter by the name of Harvey Levin said, “Mel Gibson is garbage. What an awful person he is. True enough, I’m Jewish, so the grotesque remarks didn’t please me none”. The truth never matters to Jews even when confronted by irrefutable evidence.

Do they ever ask themselves, “what is it that we do that makes the world dislike us”? Why do they have to have such high security in their Jewish centers? Why did a Muslim shoot up the Jewish Federation in Seattle two days ago? There is no doubt, Jews suffer from “collective denial!”

There are many questions concerning the incident that occurred on Friday when Mel Gibson, driving in his automobile, was stopped by a Los Angeles County Sheriff near his home. There is no doubt that certain Jews were out to get Mr. Gibson ever since he produced “The Passion of the Christ”. Was Sheriff’s Deputy James Mee, a Jew, lying in wait for Mel Gibson. Pacific Coast Highway in this part of Malibu is a well known police trap. Here they can wait for celebrities that live in Malibu and that they know are coming home from restaurants, social engagements and parties where drinks are served. Why was Deputy Mee ordered to redo his police report by his superiors? Most important of all, how did Jewish reporter Harvey Levin end up with a copy of the original and unapproved report written by Deputy Mee and which Levine used to justify calling Mel Gibson “garbage”.

Was there collusion here between Deputy Mee, Levine and other Jews?

Something smells and it is not what breathalysers are designed to detect! So what if Gibson had a few glasses of wine. DUI enforcement has now become a huge racket that generates huge revenues for law enforcement and huge profits for so called “Alcohol Education Schools” that are mostly owned by judges and members of MADD. In Los Angeles County, police officers are notorious for lying in their police reports. It is most probable that Deputy Mee’s original report was full of errors and that is why his superiors ordered him to revise it. It is extremely unfair for the Jewish media to utilize the unrevised report to demonize Mr. Gibson in their vendetta against the actor/producer simply because he refused to leave out from the film “The Passion of the Christ” certain elements that were objectionable to the Jews.

Mel Gibson is an outstanding and talented individual and not “garbage” as the Jew Levine says. His upcoming Mayan epic, “Apocalypto,” will be a classic. Our community has great respect for him and thanks him for his great gifts to the Mexican people while filming in the jungles of Mexico’s Veracruz state. His generous donations to build houses for poor people in the region were greatly appreciated by the Republic of Mexico.

Now, even ambassadors abroad are not allowed to tell the truth!

Bichara’s testimony at Senate irks Palace

    By Gil C. Cabacungan Jr.
    Inquirer

MALACAÑANG is fuming over the failure of the Department of Foreign Affairs to rein in Philippine Ambassador to Lebanon Al Francis Bichara who defied a presidential gag order.

Bichara gave his testimony in a telephone phone patch on Monday to a Senate hearing on the lack of funds to repatriate overseas Filipino workers in Lebanon.

In an interview with the Inquirer, Executive Secretary Eduardo Ermita said that he ordered the DFA officials on Wednesday “to remind Bichara to clear with his bosses before he submits himself to any inquiry.”

“We were all surprised why he submitted himself while we in here, didn’t allow ourselves to attend the hearing,” Ermita said.

The DFA claimed that it had failed to inform Bichara of Ermita’s order which was only submitted hours before Bichara made his testimony.

Ermita, however, told the DFA to make sure that all Philippine ambassadors were covered by his order because they were under the Executive branch.

When bad things continue to happen to us, to the country, it is the universe’s way of forcing us to change the course of our lives. We can only wait for so much time for reforms and changes to happen, and if we wait for too long, we may never see the light of hope and a new beginning. Life’s so full of many choices and have to work hard to decide which ones are the best for us. It never comes without a struggle, but if people rise and stand up to the challenges, injustices and abuses to achieve what is to be done, we end up stronger and unified in the end. Sabi nga ni JFK: The great enemy of the truth is very often not the lie, deliberate, contrived and dishonest, but the myth, persistent, persuasive and unrealistic. Very true indeed – in the reign of the Evil “HALIMAW” Queen.

    Re: Tulfo Brothers
The Tulfo (Raffy and Erwin) brothers exposed allegedly large-scale smuggling engaged in by Sammy Lee, Vicky and Tomas Toh. A new public service program, Isumbong Mo was launched last May 2006 on RPN 9. The government may have influenced the shut down of the TV program. RPN9 was sequestered by Presidential Commission on Good Government (PCGG) after the 1986 EDSA Uprising. Press Secretary Ignacio Bunye probably axed the program. Radio Philippines Network, Inc. (RPN 9) is a Philippines flagship VHF television network of the Government Communications Group headed by the Press Secretary. (Wikipedia).

Customs Commissioner Napoleon Morales cleared Vicky and Tomas Toh due to lack of evidence involving big time smuggling. It’s not a surprise to acquit Arroyo cronies and persecute those are telling the truth. It has been a practice under illegitimate Arroyo government a selective or double standard justice system. The following was cut and pasted from the column of Ramon Tulfo.

    START-

In a memorandum to President Macapagal-Arroyo on Nov. 20, 2002, Francisco T. Duque, then Philhealth president and chief executive officer, proposed the transfer of the Owwa Medicare fund to Philhealth.

“The proposed transfer will have a significant bearing on the 2004 elections. I will be available to explain in greater detail the far-reaching implications of the transfer. May I ask that we meet personally?” Duque told the President in that memo.

    – END

The excerpt is clear enough; I don’t have to comment.

  17. florry, I share your sentiments. It is indeed long overdue [as npongco says]….

    Hanggang JUST-TIIS na lang ba?

    I cry for my country….
    QUO VADIS, Inang Bayan?
    QUO VADIS, PILIPINAS?

  18. Now, don’t you see what these crooks are trying to do? They’re trying to win the sympathy of the Filipino people by saying that the Midget is very sick, even ironically using the daughter of Marcos to justify the means by demanding a full report of the Midget’s ailment comparing it with how the Marcos government tried to conceal the illness of her father.

But Imee has lost her own credibility as a matter of fact when she failed to support the impeachment last year.

Marcos was a very sick man, alright, but did his people use his ailment to win the sympathy of the people? No! Although an uncle who was closed to the Apo told us that he had been sick from as early as 1973, never had we heard of anyone talk of his illness nor his being transported to any hospital during his term of office.

The Midget on the other hand is being advertised of being gravely ill to generate sympathy for her as she orders the termination of all those people who are very critical of her illegitimate regime. But a hoax will remain a hoax as when they make the mistake for example of timing her supposed ailment on weekends, staying at the hospital for a day or two and then showing a rejuvenated face, etc. with doctors surrounding her looking more stressed than her, for the Midget can be exasperatingly abusive according to people who know her personally.

This time, Filipinos are being fed with the BS that the Midget is sick even when in fact she is merely having stomach pains caused by some diet pills perhaps and her regular “banat” operation that a friend says is being done by some plastic surgeon.

Ang lakas-lakas ng kumag para magkasakit, and no matter how much a lot many people would want her to die soonest possible, she is likely here to stay unless the Filipino “masa” are able to thwart the plan being carried out with the help of some legion of Satan to change the Constitution to enable them to declare her queen someday.

The majority of the people of the Philippines want to know the truth regarding the election frauds committed by the Midget, her husband and their alipores. It was not just the call to Garci that was in question as a matter of fact.

Early in the campaign, even long before the oppositions could announce their candidates, we heard for example of the Fat Guy distributing health insurances to the taxi drivers in the middle of the night. That should have been considered a violation in fact of the Election Code that could merit disqualification but because of the protection showered upon her by then Chief of the SC, Davide, who was himself being questioned for misuse of funds for the employees of the court that was in fact set up by Marcos for them, and the military generals she had been dining and wining plus some “pakipkip” when they left, she could not be removed. The rule of the game was obviously money that was fleeced even from the millions of Filipinos being driven out of their country!

Now, who is this Ermita to stop the Senate from doing its duties and responsibilities to the people? Why is this guy now acting as the high and mighty?

At least, the ambassador of the Philippines to Lebanon is now taking a stand against this crooks, refusing to be made as pawn to the criminally inclined, who is being advertised to be too sick to attend to her official duties in the midst of this crisis of saving Filipino workers stranded in Lebanon.

No Filipino in his right frame of mine should be allowed to fall into this crap. Filipinos should demand for the Senate to probe this crook who knows well what has happened to the missing OWWA funds. She should be the one called to answer the inquiries of the Filipino people through their representatives in the Senate even when their representatives in the Philippine Congress have sold their souls for them to be aptly called “Tongressmen.”

Meanwhile, let’s pray that the Filipinos in Lebanon would be able to escape the bombings left and right before the US enters this war, and their escape route to Syria blocked!!!
Senator Gordon may just as well take full responsibility for their safety before it is too late.

Mon Tulfo was indeed very close to the Fat Guy so it surprised many the recent feud between the two. What I heard is this: Mon asked Mike Defensor if he could write about Vicky Toh’s smuggling and Mike allowed him. Since Mike is Gloria’s Chief of Staff, he’s her alter ego. That means Mon’s action had Gloria’s blessing. Why did she do this to FG? It’s because of Vicky Toh. Since Gloria learned about their affair, the relationship between the evil First Couple was not the same again.

npongco, you are asking when and how:
I know somebody by the name of Butcher PALIPARAN. Why don’t we hire him?

  24. Yeah, npongco….
I read some of Tulfo’s columns just now and saw that entry. he was so close to the fat guy, he was singing praises all along. NOW, Tulfo is singing a different tune.

Just like one Inquirer columnist[female] who licks the ass of gloria everytime she writes. I wouldn’t be surprised becoz the husband was given a glossy portfolio….ho-hum!

Among the Malacanang blessed ones are Alex Magno and the Fat Guy’s lawyer Atty. Jesus Santos. You see the material benefits they received from Malacanang.

  26. goldenlion goldenlion

Gloria is evil, anti-Christ…she brings disasters to the country. People should turn to God now for help. This is the right time to fight evil. Evil cannot be wiped out by the soldiers and the people alone. Divine intervention is mostly needed.

I understand they (tulfo brothers) are fuming that their show at RPN 9 was cancelled. It looks like it’s a quarrel among….(you know the word.)

But it’s good that they are quarreling. Tulfo must really know a lot about mike and mikey’s deals because they were really close.

    03 AUgust 2006

Follow up on the meeting held at the office of the vice president:

Information that I got is, your correct, when senator gordon ask for the accounting of all pinoys in lebanon, in case the war in lebanon escalates, waht are the plans for our OFWs trapped in lebanon??? gordon even volunteered RP red cross qnd that they will coordinate with the ICRC.

Once again, what is noticeable was we are, again, relying on the assistance that will be provided by the EU and the IOM. Look people, if this government can provide P1 billion each to the AFP and to the antigraft(???) why cant they divert these funds to assists our OFWs in lebanon. I have no problems with the P500 million that they are asking from congress, but what is so stupid here is, for the AFP and the antigraft(???) there’s no need to ask congress for funding, yet in the case of the lives of thousands of our kababayans in lebanon, we have to ask for funding, isn’t this ironic??? soooooo…. STUPID.

Going to noli de castro, as i said time and time again, why him (???) he who did not lift a finger to help our kababayans in iraq is being tasked to head the task force, tsk, tsk, tsk,….

By the way, ms. ellen, never did the meeting tackled the funding, I dont know why, all thay talked about according to information is to map a plan for the total evacuation of OFWs in lebanon. Map a plan??? I thought they already have a plan??? it only means one thing, up to now this government has no plans yet for evacuation.

Ultimately, gloria has to answer the question, where is the money???, what happen to the money of OFWs, etc, etc,…..

  31. Oops, mistake. This should read: At least, the ambassador of the Philippines to Lebanon is now taking a stand against THESE CROOKS (because they are many), refusing to be made as pawn to the criminally inclined, who is being advertised to be too sick to attend to her official duties in the midst of this crisis of saving Filipino workers stranded in Lebanon.

Actually, it isn’t just the OWWA fund that has gone perhaps to some private fund, but others like the judicial fund for employees of the Judiciary, the fertilizer fund, and the not advertised collections from the OFWs all over the world that are handed to the Pandak when she visits them called “Classroom ni Gloria Fund” supposedly for building classrooms in the country.

What is disgusting is this is being replicated by NGOs that collect funds in the guise of charity but are now more like established companies thriving on the generosities of OFWs around the world. It is for this reason that I don’t often give to these charities unless I know who run the organizations asking me for such funds.

I would rather go back in time when charities are undertaken by those who have enough to spare to the less fortunate and needy, not some pretenders who are in need of funds themselves. Worse is when they are honored with some awards and getting richer!!! Sick indeed! 🙁

  32. Re: Tulfo vs. fatso:
    More like nagkabukingan……bwe^he^heh^hee….
    That toh affair, y’know.

And we know how some battle-hungry men of da fakes work.

And I mean the fakes whose tenure is questionable even as we write….

    NOW NA!

  34. Jinx,

There is no use prolonging the agony of the stranded Filipinos in Lebanon. It is imperative that they be saved. The Pandak is giving orders that everybody knows is unlikely to be followed unless some people can “kupit,” which is a bad Philippine habit!!!

You bet this nincompoop is getting used to getting out of the scrutiny of the public that easy by pretending to be concerned and blaming her subordinates for her failure to prove that she can lead and really be a good president.

As my friends in Migrante say, “Hanggang bibig lang siya, wala namang ibubuga. Bumaba na lang sana!”

But the Filipinos are now threatened of being bombed to Kingdom Come because the mad man at the White House refuses to budge and the Israelis are getting bolder with a promise of new supplies of ammunition from the Bush warehouse.

Now, CNN reports that Al Qaeda is giving warnings to the Americans to stay out of this conflict while it calls to all Moslem fundamentalists to fight back and destroy Israel even with missiles being readied by Kim of North Korea for exportation they say to Syria and Iran, the Americans suspect are helping Hezbollah.

Ang gulo! You bet! All the more reason why Gordon should hurry to have all those Filipinos in Lebanon out before they are killed with their Lebanese employers!

The Lebanese consul himself says so. What he does not seem to understand, however, is that this is not a mere case of political bickerings but a matter of graft and corruption, incompetence and negligence on the part of the people in the Philippine government and the Filipinos in general, likewise, of not being able to track down the activities of this crook calling herself “President of the Philippine Republic” and thinking insolently that she has a right to own the Philippines and what it owns to squander and spend on her own together with her husband, family, friends and cronies.

They do not even know how to implement and enforce the law with the agencies responsible for catching and arresting culprits corrupted and acting more like the gangsters in some Hollywood movies than enforcers of the law!!!

Just where in the world can you see a Justice Secretary for example being protective of criminals instead of their victims? Timbuktu? No, in da Pilipins!

Puede namang hulihin si Pandak by simply disqualifying her in accordance with the provisions of the Election Code regarding electioneering and misuse of public funds, bakit kailangan pa ang impeachment? Unbelievable! Kasi VP siya? But then the woman has been calling herself President since January 2001. Isn’t that a violation, too?

Too bad, the good lawyers to deny all the contentions of legality of the Pandak are getting silenced forever! So, how do you, or should I say we, pin this criminal suspect and her minions down?

  35. “Transparency sought in coup probe vs Brigadier General Lim.” says an Inquirer banner.

The Tulfo brothers don’t come clean too. They hang out at plush beerhouses in QC. They are heavy drinkers. Special mention is this Mon Tulfo.

There was a time when he was apprehended by police on a traffic violation. He was traveling in Metro Manila with a convoy which the police didn’t notice thinking there was only one car. When they approached Mon Tulfo whom they later recognized, his bodyguards, all Marines, almost engaged them into shoot out. Mon himself is a good shooter. He carried short arm and long arm. His bodyguards being Marines were all heavily armed.

Mon Tulfo was once accused by Ping Lacson for receiving payola which caused the break up of the two who were once friends. Tulfo could have been asking too much and blackmailing Lacson.

One only has to take a look at Mon Tulfo who looks like a goon. His other brothers including Erwin are as arrogant. Remember Erwin almost had a boxing match with actor Cesar Montano?

This only shows what kind of people the Fat Guy are associating with. Ever wonder why Chavit Singson continues to be untouchable? He and the Fat Guy are presently the best of friends.

  37. Something like: “Tell me who your friends are,…and I’ll tell you who you are” kinda thing, huh?
They both have to look at each other’s back pag nagkataon…
    Matira sa kanila ang matibay.

Now that the Marine bodyguards were taken off Tulfo, I don’t think Tulfo will allow himself to be a sitting target of the fatso’s group. Which makes me think, btw: why on earth does he need a government bodyguard, a Marine at that, when he is not entitled to it?

Better if he spills the beans now while he still can.
    Tomorrow might be too late!

    RE: that sing-song guy:
gma and miguel are friends with him, FOR NOW, that is….
IF and WHEN they cross each other’s path, let’s see what happens. Singson might SING-a-SONG again, just like what he did to his one-time best friend, ERRap.

Birds of the same feather flock together, wise men say…..

  38. Thanks for the update, Jinxies.

They will not discuss funding because that’s a sensitive issue. They won’t do that.

Senate President Villar appeared to be irked by the action of Malacanang officials who snubbed last Monday’s Senate committee hearing after he saw them appear at a Malacañang news conference to talk on the same issues raised by Estrada and other senators such as Alfredo Lim, Rodolfo G. Biazon, Franklin M. Drilon, and Richard Gordon. The officials who joined the Malacañang press conference held simultaneously with the Senate committee hearing were Brion, Conejos, and Roque.

  42. Diego K. Guerrero Diego K. Guerrero

Senate President Manuel Villar is in a tightrope position. He got 13 votes to gain the senate presidency. Remember mother and son senators Estrada supported Senator Villar with a “condition” to remain independent or free from Malacanang influence. The senate presidency is a stepping stone to Malacanang Palace. He needs Erap and FPJ masa supporters to solidify his political base. Senate President Villar is the third in line in case of ouster the Arroyo-De Castro regime.

palagay ko gov’t agencies are dilly-dallying…and are avoiding the Senate investigation dahil hindi pa tapos ang BOGUS DOCUMENT na nagsasaad na ang 8 billion pesos ‘kuno’ is still intact. Grabee na talaga tong si pandak! Manhid. Can’t stomach her anymore….. palagay ko the viruses in her brain are now in her stomach, unti-unting nilalamon na ang bituka niya (curse? for her wrongdoing…sana nga).

  44. Ellen and all,

If you want to know more about the OWWA Fund mess, John Marzan has written and extensive report about it on his blog. I believe Ellen has a link to his blog. Also, IOM has repatriated 450 OFWs last week. They spent for their trip to Syria and chartered a 747 for their flight back to the Philippines.

Ellen is right to point out that the repatriation must be funded by the Presidential Emergency Fund and not OWWA. Obviously, the pretender is trying to keep her funds intact to once again bribe the congress to kill the impeachment.

As to her antics of being sick, we all know it as hogwash. Her bringing her laptop and celphone to the hospital is a stunt to show that even if she is sick, she continues to work. The bloke never learns.

The U.S. had withdrawn its promised P1 billion aid to stamp out corruption citing the slowness of the Ombudsman in trying and investigating anomalies of personalities linked to the palace. They also told the Ombudsman to purge its ranks of corrupt officers.

Do the math, $25 is collected from OFWs annually. There are 8 million legitimate OFWs all over the world. Since she sat in office, how much money had poured in OWWA. A very hefty sum indeed. That excludes the other fees collected from our OFWs by the different government agencies. Emilio can confirm this.

  45. Noel Pongco

Re Mon himself is a good shooter. He carried short arm and long arm. His bodyguards being Marines were all heavily armed.

Why on earth is he entitled to bodyguards from the Marines

Is he a military officer of senior rank in active service

That is a violation of military rules and regulations

  46. E-mail from Manny:

Presently nandito ako sa Doha, Qatar and I’ve been here in the Middle East for almost 20 years.

My point here is almost 20 years… ilang beses na akong nagbabayad ng Repatriation Fund everytime I go for vacation? Pero I never ever use or facilitate that services. Ang plano nga ng mga OFW, bakit hindi na lang magbukas ng sariling bangko ang OFW and whatever funds that we contribute eh kumikita at mas nakikita ng tao kung saan napupunta or nai-invest ang pera ng bawat OFW na nagtatrabaho sa abroad. Kasi sakit na ng gobyerno yan since I was in Saudi Arabia way back 1991 Gulf War.

  47. Schumey:

This is exactly what the Pandak and her minions must have been hoping for, the free ride from some international group that would be so kind as to take the responsibility off this dorobo (magnanakaw) government.

But this does not mean that Biazon, et al should stop short at that, but continue to get into the core of the matter regarding the missing OWWA funds.

The Pandak must have been so confident that no one would run after her with the victims of this scam themselves being at the mercy of this oppressive government that has been flattering them with empty accolades as heroes and heroines even when they are in fact treated like “yagit” as the OFWs in Japan are generally treated by their own embassy here with the Consular Office for example down in the basement of the poshy building at the property owned by the Philippines, because there was once upon a time a “matapobre” ambassador who did not want his visitors to see his compatriots. Why it has to be carried over when the news building was constructed is one thing that a lot many of us have resented and moved us to form alliances to fight for what we believe should be rights and privileges that Filipinos should demand be granted them especially if they are paying their taxes and other dues.

And yet you see the hypocrisy when they need the Filipino community to raise funds for example for “Gloria’s classroom” that has been going on for the past 3 or 4 years but where are the classrooms?

The same hocus pocus is being done apparently with the OWWA fund, the 25-dollar fee the OFWs are asked to pay everytime the go home and leave the Philippines especially when they make it difficult for the OFWs to complain or demand explanation for the double payments and taxations.

The point now is how do Biazon, et al make the Pandak and her minions be legally responsible for all these scams even without US help?

, who were being peddled here by the Philippine government either as domestic helpers or hostesses cum albeit prostitutes, something in fact that a lot many of us have resented and moved us to form alliances to fight this kind of treatment of Filipinos by officials of their own government!

  48. Oops, please delete this part: “who were being peddled here by the Philippine government either as domestic helpers or hostesses cum albeit prostitutes, something in fact that a lot many of us have resented and moved us to form alliances to fight this kind of treatment of Filipinos by officials of their own government!”

  49. Ellen,

The cancellation was reported by Mike Enriquez and Jay Sonza on their respective morning shows. What I don’t know is why no other bureau carried the report. They both gave their commentaries regarding the matter.

  50. Two Filipinas are reported killed while trying to escape from their employers in Lebanon reminiscent of some three Filipino maids who died two or three years ago in Lebanon but up until remain a mystery.

But while the Pandak pretends to be concerned about the welfare and safety of the Filipinos in Lebanon giving orders to embassy officials (daw) there “to knock on doors” to look for them, she is heard talking of training the returnees to make them as “super maids”! Sorry for the bad words, but this is definitely a “Tangna!”

Ano iyan?

For this, I urge fellow bloggers here to bug Senator Biazon, et al to insist on finding out the truth about the missing OWWA funds, and more better-paying jobs for Filipinos in the Philippines where they are safer in the care of their loved ones! Enough is enough! PATALSIKIN NA, NOW NA!!! 🙁

Enough of the greediness and irresponsibility of the Pandak and her minions. Please maawa naman sila sa mga OFWs!!!

  51. npongco npongco

Mr. Taipan: Singson already warned Gloria that he would withdraw his support from her if Erap’s acquitted. His threat was published in the media not long ago. So, that shows he’s more powerful than Arroyo. He may know many things that we don’t know.

Anna: Unfortunately, some VIPs are provided security escorts and bodyguards. They are usually from the PNP, AFP and even Presidential Group. It all depends on how influential these VIPs are and their connection to Malacanang. Yes, it’s against the laws. But, do we need to ask if this violates the law in this fake government? I’ve known some rich businessmen who have security for themselves and their families. Even the actress Gretchen Baretto married to big shot Henry Cojuangco have lots of bodyguards accompanying even her to the gym daily. Tulfo is just a journalist but he could claim his life was being threatened because of his dangerous profession as a crime reporter. Why Marines? He has connection. Now that he’s in trouble with the Fat Guy, he doesn’t have the same privilege anymore. But the latest info I got was the two are patching up through some third parties. Sometimes, you can’t just separate to evils easily and immediately.

  52. Schumey,

I’m still reeling from that news of yours in your blog re US cancellation of their 1 billion peso aid to Gloria’s moral bansot government to stamp out corruption.

This should be dominating the media.

Glad you’ve posted it on your blog. Perhaps, Ellen can interview US Ambassador Kenney and find out more.

As you said, Gloria’s just fallen flat on her face. This US aid cancellation is a shitpie (not a fruit or cream pie) on Gloria’s ugly face and boy, that must hurt!

Perhaps the nation donor is afraid, Gloria and her husband will steal the anti-corruption financial aid. Hah!

  53. Schumey, what’s the source of the report on the cancellation of the $1 billion aid for anti-corruption? Na miss ko yata yan, a.

    Thanks.

  54. Ellen, they did not mention any names. All they said was that the U.S. is dismayed by the Ombudsman’s performance. They metioned that the U.S. advised the Ombudsman to get its act together and purge its ranks of undesirables. I usually listen to the news when I drive my kid to school. This was how I got the report from Mike and Jay reported it on UNTV. They even made a survey about it and asked callers to phone in their reactions. And its not $1 billion but $21 million only or a little over P1 billion. The link you left was dated July 26.

  55. npongco npongco

That $1 Billion US aid cancellation is connected to Joc Joc Bolante’s arrest.

  56. Phil Cruz Phil Cruz

I’m glad to know that the US held back the P1,000,000,000 donaton to reduce corruption in the Philippines.

First, because 40% of their money will find its way into the Glorified-Pidalized-Bolantified pockets.
Second, since the US wants a counterpart fund of also P1,000,000,000 from the Philippine government, 40% of that will also go into the same pockets. That’s a total of P800,000,000 gone..to be used for blocking the Impeachment, railroading the Cha-Cha and Garcifying the Elections.

But lastly, because I find it absurd, embarassing and disgusting that a foreign country has to offer us money just to stop our corruption? Ridiculous. We should clean up our house on our own. Put the shoe on the other foot. Just imagine the Philippines telling the US…”Here’s P1 Billion. Stop your corruption!”

  57. Emilio_OFW Emilio_OFW

“We should clean up our house on our own.”

Phil – the essence of this message is very clear for sensible people. The problem is the people considered as “elected leaders” of this government does not possess any moral decency much more wisdom to discern right from wrong. The lyrics of the song, Sounds of Silence is well-fitting for these “elected leaders”.

They should be ashamed for the office/position they represent. Nakakahiya talaga!

Mr. Taipan: Singson already warned Gloria that he would withdraw his support from her if Erap’s acquitted. His threat was published in the media not long ago. So, that shows he’s more powerful than Arroyo. He may know many things that we don’t know////

noel, pls address me as plain Taipan. Thanks.

The reason why it is MORE difficult for gloria to be in Malacanang. There are countless people she is beholden to: people who made things easier for her to be in position, people who paved the way to cheat in the last election.

Even now, Sing-song IS powerful in Ilocos. He remains untouchable inspite of……

People tend to look the other way coz, he holds the key to gloria’s very existence.

    more on the incomparables:
    Over 6,000 Israeli soldiers vs Hezbollah with bombs, rockets, and high-powered, automatic weapons;
Gloria’s 16,000 soldiers and policemen vs. demonstrators with placards and streamers.

  63. Clarification: I have withdrawn my post regarding the $21 million aid pending clarification from MCA. I have written to them and have yet to receive a reply. The apparent lack of follow-up reports from Mike Enriquez and Jay Sonza could mean that they got the reports wrong. Sorry if I gave you guys an unconfirmed report. I should have confirmed the news first before posting it. Thanks.

“Even the actress Gretchen Baretto married to big shot Henry Cojuangco have lots of bodyguards accompanying even her to the gym daily.”

The only Henry Cojuangco I know was the former team manager of RP basketball team of the 80’s, brother of Danding Cojuango.

Noel, I think the one you are referring too was Antonio “Tony Boy” Cojuangco, the chairman of ABC-5 TV station and Philippine Bank of Commerce boss.
Tony Boy Cojuangco was the son of late Ramon Sr. of PLDT, a Marcos crony.
He’s brother, Ramon Jr., was also a executive from Piltel.

Who do you think gave Mrs.Arroyo the idea of hiring Tony Kwok of Hong Kong for Anti-Corruption consultant job?

Philippines is one of the signatories of UN Convention against Corruption.

    NAKAKAHIYA NA ANG PILIPINAS!

  65. npongco npongco

Sorry nelba…thanks for your correction. I meant Tony Boy Cojuangco. Tony was among the businessmen GMA accused of plotting to oust her. Yes as I mentioned, his wife Gretchen is surrounded by bodyguards…and she’s a civilian. That’s my response to earlier comment and question why some people could get security from the PNP and AFP. If one has the money and connection, why not?

  66. Diego K. Guerrero Diego K. Guerrero

It’s too late the hero-“Super Pandak” to evacuate OFW’s trapped in Lebanon war. There’s NO WAY OUT! Roads and bridges linking Syria are destroyed. There’s an Israeli naval blockade and airports are disabled. What now? The corrupt Arroyo government responded too late for total evacuation. As usual, Malacanang officials are quarreling for kickbacks at times of crisis. These assholes are just doing lip service and rosy press releases.

  67. npongco npongco

Yes Diego. It’s very sickening to see that our government officials even make money and kickbacks out of such crisis like in Lebanon. If this Gloria doesn’t care, why should these government officials care?

  68. A Greek married to a Filipino woman is offering to help evacuate the Filipinos to Cyprus but is desperately asking the Philippine government to straigthen up their records.

Faking passports in the Philippines in fact is not even considered a grave crime, and we hear that 2 out of 3 Filipinos in Lebanon are undocumented, and most probably carrying fake passports or none at all. So, what a lot of them need now will be travel affidavits that can only be issued with a birth certificate. Now, because of the greediness of this government to fleece outgoing Filipinos, they even require the birth certificate to be authenticated by Malacanang and then the DFA and not be content with just the signature of the Registrar of the NCSO. And yet, even with such authentication, we still hear of people getting or acquiring fake passports (genuine documents as a matter of fact but with falsified contents).

Ang dami din niyan sa mga pilipino sa Japan that you can’t help wondering why Filipinos would not even love their own names!!! Nakakahiya!

Frankly, this Lebanon crisis is more a blessing in disguise as the various anomalies regarding deployment of Filipinos are inadvertently exposed such as the misuse of the OWWA funds, the issuance of fake passports and worse, the lack of initiative on the part of the Philippine government officials and staff to keep track of Filipinos they send overseas to work.

Sorry for the bad words, but can’t help calling these crooks, mga tarantado talaga lalo na iyong Pandak na kung ano-ano pang kabalbalan ang pinagsasabi at inaatupag!!!

Puede ba, PATALSIKIN NA, NOW NA! Pati iyong Bingot, puede ba pakisupalpal ang bibig at puro nonsense ang pinagsasabi!

  69. npongco npongco

I hope there’s a group of Hezbollah in the Philippines and send some rockets to the Palace.

  70. Diego K. Guerrero Diego K. Guerrero

False documents (fake passports and visas) should be prevented in Manila or other exit points. It may be difficult to verify its authenticity but there’s always a way to catch it. One root cause is corruption. Immigration and Customs agents and travel companies may have secret deals or connivance to let OFW’s board the plane with fake documents. S.O.P. nakatimbre iyong dapat palusutin. Money is power!

it’s so obvious na meron silang tinatagong kababalaghan, otherwise, bakit ayaw sumipot sa mga bawat imbestigasyon na kinakailangan ang kanilang appearance. Why and what are they afraid ? 1!@##$%^^&*

Travel companies and agents have long been in cahoot with DFA and BID. They work and operate like Mafia.

There are groups like that in the government. The DOJ is surrounded by an Ateneo Mafia clique. It became notorious during the time of Sec. Nani Perez who is from Ateneo. And the Fat Guy Mike is also from Ateneo. And the meddlesome and corrupt Jesuits who helped oust Marcos and Erap were mostly Ateneo Jesuits.

  73. Another e-mail from Manny:
