Statement of senatorial candidate Antonio F. Trillanes IV
During the past several days, I’ve been the target of verbal attacks by some officials and candidates of this administration. While I expected this type of gutter politics from them, I was hoping that they were at least man enough to let me address their attacks squarely by not opposing my court motion to be allowed access to media. I want a fair fight.
For that matter, I hearby challenge candidate Joker Arroyo to a debate on resolutions to our country’s problems. I am not a debater myself, but I believe this is a way of “elevating the level of election campaigning” to where it ought to be. May the candidate with the better prescriptions win.
If you are up to the challenge then let us immediately make the necessary arrangements. If not, then keep your “trapo” ways to yourself because it is a disservice to the electorate.
Also, lately my relatives, friends and supporters have been subjected to harassment and scare tactics by a few misinformed elements of the AFP (Armed Forces of the Philippines). Whoever is behind these, I beg you to spare them because this violates the ethics of any kind of warfare. The AFP leadership instead should welcome the possibility of having another former soldier as a legislator since it will mean another voice that will push for the interest of the officers and enlisted men.
Finally, I would like to take this opportunity to thank the Genuine Opposition (GO) for all their support in the campaign and for standing up for me amidst accusations.
And more importantly, I would like to express my deepest gratitude to all the volunteers who have been helping in the campaign. I will have to forewarn you though, that this will be a long and difficult fight. But be assured that I will lead you to no less than a victory for our country and people.

If we jumble the words in the name of Joker, it will describe the kind of politician he is: JERKo. Aside, of course, than being a trapo. Maybe Joker belongs also to a higher category like JdV, called, Basahan !
The campaign debates usually among leaders, if it is a Party System or among the principals candidates or the designated spokepersons for parties are one of the best deteminants of the qualified candidates for the voters to decide the party or candidates deserving their votes.
But the debates should be moderated with care and avoid the personalities and will focus on programs and issues. Every Elections that’s the part of the campaign most anticipated, because we can see the prospective leaders will be bringing the country during their mandate. And for the public to make them account for their failures to comply with the issues raised during those debates. Bring them on and let the voters judge..

I just got that email from Atty. Harry Roque. Thanks. He lives very near pala. I’m replying to him today and probably sign-up at his HQ along EDSA near the corner of Tramo St. I’ve also forwarded his email to some friends.
Good thing he’s running. Peewee’s first choice, Lito Roxas, is now talking to our representathief Connie Dy and Acting (as if) Mayor Allan Panaligan. Harry said so. But it’s not far-fetched that IpDyi might ask the husband to replace her if she’s running for mayor. Or that ex-policeman-now-police-character who snatched Bishop Oscar Cruz’ witnesses in the jueteng-gate investigations, Ding Santos.
Santos may use his clout with Lakas and make a congressional bid, since his last 3 attempts at mayoralty all but failed. Dy’s group, however, may bolt Lakas and move to Kampi. If that’s the case, Harry’s chances are boosted by a splitting of votes between Lakas and Kampi.
It’s one tough fight for Harry since he is considered to be among staunch anti-Arroyo forces, anti-Mike especially, and stands in the same spot as Cayetano and Lacson.

It’s sad that Trillanes is still not allowed media access, and he had it within his rights to speak out against those who would belittle him during the start of this elections campaigning.
However, I don’t condone, any negative statement made to another candidate even if it is in response to negative statements leveled unto him. this is a fight that is for a Senate seat itself, and it should be fought in a highly respectable manner.
This is not going to be the case with any of the candidates during this election season, as the mudslinging is definitely going to get nastier.
Let us not get caught up with the rhetoric, and focus on the key issue regarding Trillanes, and that is that he still has not been afforded his right to media access.

Lito Banayo wll not be running for congressman. Instead he will be Sen. Fred Lim’s vice mayor. Fre Lim, as you all know is running for mayor of Manila. If Trillanes does not win, we know he has been cheated, for even in Japan, I am surprised to know from a lot of people I don’t even say I am campaigning for him just pulse them first before I distribute the leaflets we’re making for him that they are voting for him.
If the Bansot lets him win and not steal the votes for him, then we know for sure that the days of the Bansot will soon be over because the Filipinos must have been waken up from their deep slumber and stupor.

Why don’t the national TV there have all the candidates introduced and allow them half hour to present their platforms like what NHK of Japan for example do before election so the voters will know who the candidates are and vote for the ones they believe to be good.
I don’t even see those lousy ads like the ones they have in the US or the Philippines for any lousy candidates. I see ads for the political parties though late at night when they are not even viewed by majority of TV viewers, I guess. For me, that is most welcome especially when you are watching a good a favorite TV program.

Komento at Sagot: Para hindi niyo isipin na puro biro at kalokohan lang ang alam ko, narito ang pananaw ko. Unang-una, Ronnie Nathanielz (hindi Rony). Ang Channel 4 dati at lahat ng reporters ay mga tuta ni Marcos. Isa pa iyong Gaddy Baltazar (?). Kahit na si Rod Navarro isang Marcos Loyalist din. Sa mga manunulat, una sa listahan itong si Doroy Valencia na Imelda’s boy.

Sa larangan naman ng pagpatay ng mga militante at sa mga kontra sa gobyerno, mas masahol din itong si Tiyanak, di ba Ate at Ka (Kapatid, Kaibigan, Kababayan) Ellen? Si Marcos ginawa niya ito sa loob ng 20 taon, ilan ba ang napatay? Si tiyanak kauupo pa lang marami na ang pinatay. Si Marcos hindi tumanggap ng ganoong katinding puna at batikos mula sa mga Human Rights grupo. Eto si Tiyanak mas grabe at dedma pa siya.
Trillanes is at a great disadvantage if not in an unfair election campaign in his quest for a senate seat. He needs exposure and just depends on friends, relatives and co-candidates for help. His challenge to Joker Arroyo for a debate brought about by the Jester’s accusation is not only fair but a good move to clarify his position. But will the joker accepts it?
Trillanes still has a lot to show and prove to the people. He has to prove that he is not just a mere poster boy of the so called “coup plotters”; that he has a sane and well-functioning mind and brain (not like SiRaulo); that he has something in his belly strong enough to fight abuses and corruption; that he has a heart of a human that is willing and determine to fight for justice and good government. How will he do it? If given a chance, he maybe able to show what kind of stuff he is made of, but Joker Arroyo will never never give him that chance. Joker is wise and old enough to accommodate and let him steal the limelight and gain a mileage in his candidacy. After all they are opponents, and why give an opponent a publicity and chance to make himself known and may even become a household name in the process. Not a chance.
Trillanes may not get his chance to prove his worth, nevertheless I wished him the very best of luck. It’s an uphill battle and I hope he will make it.
Joker has not proven anything yet but a loyal supporter and defender of Mr & Mrs. Pidal, which is very much in contrast with the image he likes to call himself as a corrupt and graft-buster. At one time he was young and made himself, but as he grows older, he become somewhat stupid, deconstruct and self-destruct. In politics as well as in real life, they say that power corrupts and money talks. Well, the best things in life are free and these are free for his taking. He not only recognized the very tempting color of money, but learned the language of money as well from the Pidals. And with the Pidals, the language of money is a secret; translated as “SILENCE”. And the more you learned and understand the language with them, the more your bank account fattens.

I believe that if Trillanes’ could actually say (if he can get to media) HOW he will COMBAT Gloria’s government or her AFP (headlining corruption, crookery, stealing, dishonesty, etc is easy rhetoric) or to be more precise: how he intends to work out the dismantling of Gloria’s government (not the Republic) would be not only interesting to hear but should also definitely be one of the focal points that he should tackle, otherwise, he will sound and appear just like another politician.
He’s got to be bold in terms of expressing concrete actions. Never mind the political rhetorics.
A program that includes that will be more in keeping with what he’s shown by his actions.
The fact that Trillanes is in the GO ticket is a big plus!Each time the GO candidates hit the road, Trillanes is carried with them. He actually has streamers in some of the cars caravaning. His website reaches more young people too. There will always be sympathy votes for Trillanes as well. People can relate to his struggles.
The JOKER candidate has to justify his affiliation with tiyanak so Trillianes was his alibi. Let Joker attack Trillanes so it will booster his candidacy more, just like what the tiyanak and the fatso are doing to Alan Cayetano. It is free advertizing!
I see hope for the young generation if Trillanes wins. Young blood is always a shot of vigor!

His incarceration is giving Trillanes a lot of advertisement as a matter of fact. If he wins, then we know that running for office in the Philippines need not be expensive, and he and his friends in the UNO will be able to come up with a law that will make the kind of electioneering the Pidals practice really illegal and punishable even by life imprisonment since it is not longer possible to have them executed by lethal injection, etc.
This is going to be a real turning point in Philippine political history hopefully for the better. Let’s cross our fingers he’ll turn out right, and share our ideals and aspirations for that beleaguered land of our birth. God willing it will be 11 or 10 + 0 for the United Opposition! Better call it that way rather than Genuine Opposition since there may still be among them who are not genuine! 😛

Kapag hindi ka makapag-ikot sa buong Pilipinas, apektado ang kampanya at boto. Si Trillanes maaaring kilala sa Metro Manila at ng mga sundalo pero baka hindi siya kilala ng mga taga-probinsiya. Si Gringo Honasan ay iba dahil sikat na iyan noon pang 1986 Edsa. Pero dahil nandiyan na sa ticket si Trillanes ng GO, suportahan na lang natin.
Si Trillanes ay hindi talaga bagay tumakbo dahil mangugulo lang yan…another kind of troublemaker.
Doy,sinabi kong hindi sana siya tumakbo sa Senado at mas okay kung Kongreso pero di ko sinabi na huwag siyang tumakbo. Paanong manggugulo iyan? Ayun nga nakakulong at hindi makapag kampanya. Tapos sasabihin mong manggugulo. Ikaw ang manggugulo dito.
