THE Armed Forces was mum yesterday on the strong showing of Genuine Opposition senatorial candidate Antonio Trillanes IV in partial and unofficial counts.

MANILA, Philippines – Antonio Trillanes IV yesterday said he was flattered by his strong showing in the quick counts being conducted by media outfits and their partners as well as the National Movement for Free Elections, but reminded his supporters not to let their guard down.
Mahar Mangahas, president of the survey firm Social Weather Stations, believes it is the perception of Trillanes being persecuted rather than his access to the media in the last days of the campaign that has worked so far in his favor.

I don’t think that the perception of Trillanes being persecuted was the primary factor of his strong showing in the polls. It is for me the fact that the pinoys are confirming that Trillanes was right all along when he charged Blinky Tianak and the AFP as corrupt.
I talked to many of my friends and relatives and they all agreed that the TV ads of Trillanes about the “most expensive highway” on earth caught their attention. None of them voted for him out of pity, compassion or perception of being pesecuted.
I believe that ordinary people were able to identify with his issues. Let’s say that voters have turned mature this time!

Let us accept the fact that not all people can be fooled by both GO and TU. I believe that the filipino people now are mature enough to know kung sino dapat iboto.
Kung may hindi dapat iboto sa TU, ganun din naman sa GO. Pare-pareho lang silang may vested-interest. Voting straight for GO will bring harm to our economy the same way as voting 12-0 in favor of TU.

Tell you what guys, Singapore is perceived to be a country where the short woman has a funny sort of broods. For obvious reason and purpose, Singapore is one of the countries granted voting by mail even when the embassy is just a short distance from where these Filipinos live compared to the Filipinos in Japan who will have to travel far and the transportation is no joke and therefore need to be granted the privilege of voting by mail that unfortunately is more susceptible to these cheatings and dagdag-bawas unless the OFWs themselves make sure they are not cheated by allowing these crooks to cheat them after a sumptuous reception at some posh hotels as planned during visits of the short woman as the one being planned here for May 24th.
Funny that they have not granted the same privilege to the OFWs in Hong Kong. Why? It is because Filipinos there are more closely knit and have shown these crooks that they are not easy to manipulate. Kudos to the Migrante, etc. people who have kept the spirit there against these manipulators in the bogus government!
