Trillanes reports to the people

Message of Sen. Antonio Trillanes IV as he marks his first year as senator:

proclamation2.JPG

“Inside a jail, you are not witness to the state of the country with your own eyes: the rising cost of living in unequal proportion with a failing economic order. You are unable to hear the sentiments of our people first hand: pervasive cries for justice and accountability against perpetrators of political violence and corruption. You appear insulated from what others endure outside these walls: the disillusionment of a people in the Administration that blatantly betrays its own obligation to serve them.

“But out duty and desire, I refuse not to see, listen and feel. Transcending the challenge of circumstance, I answered your collective call to action as duly elected Senator of this country. Today I am pleased to report to my constituents my humble accomplishments the past 12 months in office.

“It is my view that a Senator in a system of checks and balances such as ours has three primary duties: (1) to craft legislation; (2) to oversee the proper functions of the government; (3) to advocate issues of national concern.

“To date, I have crafted 138 bills covering various areas of governance such as
poverty alleviation, anti-corruption, defense and security, education, health care, labor and environment. These bills were meticulously done with the end in view of uplifting the lives of our people and making our country a better place to live in.

“I have also authored resolutions calling for the investigation of anomalous government transactions. However, these efforts to check the excesses of the Executive Department had become futile exercises as we have witnessed the shameless use of dirty tactics that virtually destroyed the very institutions they have sworn to protect. With a paralyzed Senate, impunity became the order of the day.

“Finally, as an advocate, I believe I have done everything I can to deliver to the people the cold truth that GMA, for the past 8 years in office, has failed miserably to govern; has caused (and will continue to cause) so much poverty, death and destruction; and has prostituted every government institution just to stay in power. But while some people chose to talk and other people chose to while; I chose to act.

“Still, I believe in a just and merciful God thus, I am confident that the Filipino will survive this ordeal.

“Regardless of the circumstances, be assured that this Senator will continue to serve you.”

    Congratulations, Senator Sonny Trillanes!

You are the best senator in the current Senate despite Gloria, the one who stole the presidency not once but twice, does everything in her bitchness power to break your spirit and soul.

When you got out, we will still be here to support you and your endeavors of “uplifting the lives of our people and making our country a better place to live in”.

Tuloy ang laban kahit nasa kulungan!

  2. parasabayan parasabayan

It is better to be in isolation right now rather than be amongst the corrupt and vultures in our government acting like they have accomplished something!

Keep up the good work Senator! How many of our senatongs and tongressmen can clearly state what they have done for the people? Maybe a few. MOST OF THEM WOULD GET AN “F” or a failed grade!

  3. myrna myrna

yan ang tunay na may malasakit sa bayan. kahit ano pa man sabihin ng mga detractors niya, he sets an example as to what a public servant should be.

more power to you senator trillanes!

    This part touches me:

“Finally, as an advocate, I believe I have done everything I can to deliver to the people the cold truth that GMA, for the past 8 years in office, has failed miserably to govern; has caused (and will continue to cause) so much poverty, death and destruction; and has prostituted every government institution just to stay in power. Yes, I remember Manila Peninsula.

I got a hard time logging in. Anyway, Trillanes’ patience would pay off…2012 is not far away. He would get the justice he deserves when a new leader is elected.

  6. rose rose

may nabasa ako tonycruz.com na nagsabi na tumawag daw si Ellen sa kanya at sinabi na under attack daw ang blog niya (Ellen) was this true?
…Senator Trillanes, you are a true leader!

  7. chi chi

Palagi namang under attack tayo dito, Rose. I had a difficult time logging in like bitchevil.

  8. rose rose

  9. I actually wrote to Ellen about her blocked blog. Then, when I tried to access, it was OK again. Tongue was apparently right about the goblins being active again after the trip to the US of A. Magkano kaya ang bet nila ngayon. Gotta get the info from my friend who always join Manny in his boxing tour. Two years ago, the bet was already 250,000 dollars. It must be 1M now.

  10. No matter what the Senator detractors say, I will never allow myself to be influenced by them as I have resolved to be a faithful supporter of the Senator through and through.

Loyalty is something that a lot many Filipinos in fact need to learn. It is not something earned by paying bribes like what the thief and cheat in the palace by the murky river does. When Filipinos have learned to be faithful to people they vote, I bet the candidates likewise would be imbued to do what is right and good.

Dapat kumikilos na ang mga 11M voters para makalabas na siya to serve them. The SC judges, especially the political appointees of the thief and cheat, cannot be above the voting public, not even be above the law.

Mabuhay ka Senator Trillanes! Filipinos do not deserve a cheat to be their president. She should be ousted soon bago sila mamatay sa gutom na lahat!

  11. I came upon this speech of JK Rowling to Harvard grads recently and I can’t help but share it with you. Some people may gloat at apparent victories right now while some of us seem to suffer endless frustrations…but take heart…

  12. Mandela’s real qualities came to the fore after his time as an activist — during his 27 years in prison and in the eight years since his release, when he had to negotiate the challenge of turning a myth into a man.

Sonny Trillanes is now the country’s most famous prisoner. He should follow Mandela’s advice in prison:

“Any man or institution that tries to rob me of my dignity will lose!”nelson mandela

  13. According however to ABS-CBNnews.com :

Bono Adaza, ex-military officials arrested for sedition

A former lawmaker and four former military officials have been arrested by the police for their alleged involvement in a “proposal to commit rebellion” against the Arroyo administration, an official said Wednesday afternoon.

Chief Superintendent Raul Castañeda, Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) director, said former congressman and opposition lawyer Homobono Adaza has been arrested for a case of inciting to sedition.

Castañeda said former military Col. Oscarlito Mapalo and two other high-ranking officials of the military were arrested with Adaza.

The police official said Adaza and the military officials’ arrests were based on a case filed against them by lawyer Raymund Fortun.

  14. The first one was from radio. The reports, sketchy. Raymund Fortun was Erap’s lawyer so they are both opposition lawyers. Unless this has something to do with sedition against Erap. Magulo yata. Abangan!

  15. In today’s Inquirer, ex-VP Teofisto Guingona revealed in his soon-to-be-released book that Gloria ordered Nani Perez to approve the IMPSA contract.

He also said in the same book he was also visited by someone who proposed the assassination of Gloria.

Last friday, the decision against the media men’s class suit was leaked by Barias himself apparently getting exclusive advanced copies of the decision.

Then, the Supreme Court decision against Sen. Trillanes.

Now this arrest of Bono. Whoa!

So many events happening altogether at warp speed!

  16. Over at GMAnews.tv, (http://www.gmanews.tv/story/104662/Erap-lawyer-accuses-Adaza-of-extortion—report)

The former counsel of pardoned President Joseph Estrada accused lawyer Homobono Adaza and three retired military officials of extorting money from one of his clients to allegedly fund an uprising against the Arroyo administration.

A report in GMA’s 24 Oras quoted lawyer Raymond Fortun as saying that Adaza’s group had asked $4 million from his Japanese client to fund a coup d’etat against President Gloria Macapagal Arroyo.

Adaza and four others were arrested Wednesday afternoon by operatives from the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) of the Philippine National Police (PNP), but police officials refused to give details regarding the operation.

Arrested with Adaza was Army Lt. Col. Oscarlito Mapalo, the fugitive military official who gained notoriety in 2004 when he publicly denounced the AFP’s promotion system as biased and lacking in objectivity. No other names were given.

  17. bitchevil bitchevil

That’s BS ! If they indeed were extorting money, why would they have to say they planned a coup against the Evil Bitch? It doesn’t make sense. Anyone in his right mind wouldn’t share any information as serious as staging a coup. Adaza is an experienced and smart lawyer. Why would he say that? And why is Fortun coming up with such a story? This is another show being orchestrated by Malacanang as the ZTE deal Senate hearing is about to re-open.

  18. Tongue:

It’s definitely all frame-up. The crooks are just trying to look for something to deviate (again) the attention of the Filipinos from the series of scandals, rackets, etc. of this Mafia government, and they have chosen Bono Adaza because the matapobre must think he cannot fight them because he does not have money, for this lawyer and former public official is one of the rare kind of politician-lawyer who has never enriched himself.

Extortion? I don’t think so even when he is known to depend on the kindness of people. I have met him and can vouch for his integrity.

Senator Enrile should help him as a matter of fact. And Ramos, too, for they have used this good lawyer a lot. Maraming kaibigan iyan sa ibang bansa. We’ll see how they will help him. Pwe!

  19. Tama ka, Bitchdevil. Adaza is no idiot and no pipitsuging abogado like the extortionist squatting at the palace by the murky river na magaling lang manakot ng libel suit kasi hawak nila lahat ngayon. Wait till the Filipinos wake up and no longer wait for the Americans to throw them out of the palace. Iyong visit sa US apparently is just a ploy—trying hard ang ungas to show the Filipinos that she cannot be removed because the Americans are backing her up. Oh yeah? Tignan natin!

  20. BTW, Tongue, Sigm Rho din ba si Bono Adaza? If so, mahirap nilang madiin ang batikang abogadong iyan.

  25. bitchevil bitchevil

Unknown to many, Mapalo was the one who rescued Tommy Manotoc, then Imee Marcos’ fiance the relationship of which was strongly opposed by Imelda. Mapalo was also assigned at ISAFP, then only a Captain. After 1986 Edsa, I think he became Chief Aide of then Doy Laurel. Mapalo is an expert in intelligence work. I’m not surprised he’s implicated in the alleged coup.

  26. Bitchdevil:

I wonder what Enrile will do now to help Adaza. Talandi niya. Bistado na siya, ayaw pa raw maghalata. Landi!

“Any man or institution that tries to rob me of my dignity will lose!”nelson mandela

    Thanks, TE.

I was reminded of this quote while watching the 90th birthday celebration of Mr. Mandela on TV last night. Hyde Park had no empty space, the event was uplifting.

If Gloria would go beyond 2010, Trillanes might as well take Mandela by heart.

‘chevil, meron pa, si Mapalo may napanalunang kaso (google it) regarding a P10M loan he and a partner extended to a woman for mortgage who later sold the land to a third party. Makwarta, ha.

  30. chi chi

Hehe! I’m blogging from the mountains (hangga ngayon). Had difficulty logging in yesterday.

It just happened that no one commented on this loop yata after my 5.57 a.m. post, or was not able to get in also.

  31. Okey lang. Sana pinalitan mo na lang, “Trillanes might as well take Gloria by the hair”. Heheheh.

  32. Gabriela Gabriela

Imagine, what he could have done if he were allowed to participate in Senate sessions.

But never mind. He will have his time. Senator, think Mandela!
