Iwas cervical cancer

Safe sex.

(Cutting the ribbon were (from left to right) Dr. Antonio Rivera-Director of Asian Hospital and Medical Center; Dr. Jorge Garcia-Chairman of Asian Hospital; Cong. Ruffy Biazon of Muntinlupa City; and Ms. Pamela A.M. Robinson-CEO and President of Asian Hospital.

(In collaboration with the Asian Hospital Charities, the free medical services offered by Mobile Clinic include x-ray, ultrasound, dental, ecg, cervical and breast screening. The Mobile Clinic is funded through the Priority Development Assistance Fund (PDAF) of Cong. Biazon. )

but seriously, this “project” of Rep. Biazon should really be applauded. Especially by the poor women who are in need of “check-ups” but can not afford the costs. On this small island that I have been staying for the past 13 years, this “cancer” is considered as the #1 cause of death of middle-aged local women. I think one or two of the reason(s) mentioned above is the primary factor for the high incidents “Cervical Cancer” here. In this Pacific island, local girls as young as 12 years old are already “sexually active”, and can have “contacts” with different men (especially Pinoy OFWs, for some reason they seem to enjoy “the company” of our kababayans). Another is their “culture” of “changing” partners like just “changing their undies” so to speak. We can not say that “they are immorals”, because it is their “culture”, this is an island with a small local population that it must have been their way of “propagating their race”.

  2. Sex, gloria once said, she had plenty of!

    Ha-ha!

RE The younger Biazon’s project is indeed,a good one. If the patient cannot go to the hospital/clinic, let the hospital/clinic go to the patient.
500PP? or more?

How I wish the porks of the other TONGressmen, be diverted to projects similar to that of Biazon’s. Kudos to him who thought of such a noble project and made it happen. May your tribe increase!

Hanoba?

  3. Who says that there is nobody who can take the place of a crook like Glue Pandak? I’m glad to know that Rep. Biazon is proving the Pandak and her alipores wrong with his good performance that the Pandak is dispensible anytime. So why should the Filipinos be saddled with her antics and gimmicks any longer?

Hopefully, Rep. Biazon WILL and CAN show the good example to his fellow representatives in the Philippine Congress especially the tongressmen, who have enjoyed being showered wth special favors from the Pandak and sharing in the plundering of public funds, including the OWWA funds no doubt!!!

Does sexual activity cause cervical cancer? If yes, then the nuns are free from this. I’m not sure about the gay priests, though. Kidding aside, Rep. Biazon is one of the good young congressmen and is very independent from his dad.
His dad Senator Pong Biazon still has to consult his wife when making decisions. If the elder Biazon used to be the Chief of the entire AFP, his wife is the chief at home.

Yes Ms. Ellen. The comments were a bit out of topic. I wonder if there’s an age limit to cervical cancer like what’s the maximum age one can get. Also, I wonder how this can be done to Gloria for her to have cervical cancer. She has safe sex too. She has no sex with the Fat Guy for many years now. I’m not sure when Nani Perez was her DOJ Secretary. What I know is that since she met Nani, she has learned to like Batangas coffee. And she now speaks Kapampangan with a Batangueno accent.

Just take note of any ordinary conversation: ilang topic ang resulta sa isang oras na usapan.

  7. A few years ago, I joined the advocacy for the approval of the OAV Bill, and one of the people I kind of encountered in a discussion group was this young son of Senator Biazon. I thought the Senator brought his son up well enough to really care for his people even just the ones now he calls his constituents.

Since you talked about the project he has started, I might just as well comment on him as he proves to be taking that extra mile to prove that if there is a will, there is a way to make things better for Filipinos even back in the old country, not just try to dump them at some strange lands, and making them risk legs and limbs and even lives in the process, with or without US help.

I know you were sick of cervical cancer, but I don’t believe in the fallacy that it is just the over-sexuality that causes it. Bakit si Pandak, hindi nagkakasakit niyan? Hindi ba oversexed siya? 😛

Alam ko maraming may venereal diseases iyong mga puta, but cervical cancer among them, mukha yatang kaunti, for cancer tends to be more hereditary.

I am told that you get less prone to cancer if you eat lots of mushrooms especially the white ones. There is a kind actually being advertised here as being a herbal cure for any kind of cancer.

Ms Ellen, ive sent an email re the supermaids ha. i have it scanned half page lang para malinaw. am nt sure of the capacity of my scanner kc.
re the iwas cancer project. I hope there will be more public officials who are really sincere. as we bloggers here know (n bec may pinag-aralan tayo dito ke natapos o wala basta we are all sane people here na hindi tonto/tonta!!)kahit paano ay may natitira pang mga politiko na talagang may sincerity to serve the community. In the medical missions that i have joined, kawawa talaga ang mga mahihirap, kahit alcohol ay wala sila or a simple paracetamol and thermometer ay talaga hindi nila afford. They need the money for food rather than these first-aid things that they think will just lie around their simple houses. And the info-mercial about kids having bulok na teeth and all, how true they are!!! I hope the diff universities will have outreach programs to would be dentist. I know for a fact these dental students have requirements for doing tooth-filling, etc but they have to invite the would-be patients to their school pa. Why not have medical missions instead where they go to the nearby metropolis like San Mateo even…where people really clap their hands in gratitude when they see that there are still people with hearts willing to share. Kahit pa mga tambay, palaboy o naka2nganga lang ang mga ito buong hapon, they still need to feel that there are sectors of the community that are willing to share without strings attached.

I cannot comment. ” did not refer to your comments. This morning this blog was blocking my own comments. yun ang sinabi kong naloloka na ako. it was a test comment. Tapos lumusot! nakakaloka nga.

(Off topic) If there are still some FVR supporters left, think twice and read this:

Senator Miriam Defensor-Santiago on Tuesday filed a resolution seeking the investigation of former president Fidel Ramos for alleged plunder of Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA) funds for the Smokey Mountain Development and Reclamation Project.

  11. vic vic

    npongco,
the congress had done a lot of investigation and still a few ongoing. of all these investigations, from
garci tapes to fertilizer scams and all others can anyone think if a single one was resolved to the Peoples’ satisfaction? i can’t think of any. useless you say?

  12. npongco npongco

Vic, I’m sorry to say your question appears to have a double meaning. Are you implying that it’s useless to complain or file any complain since nothing happens? The reason why not a single case has been resolved to people’s satisfaction is because Malacanang doesn’t want it. Malacanang controls the judiciary from the lowest court up to the Supreme Court where most justices are GMA’s appointees. DOJ, a department that’s supposed to be fair and enforcer of justice is headed by an old idiot who’s only function and interest is to protect Malacanang. PNP and AFP, the law enforcement agencies are all controlled by Malacanang with the corrupt Generals loyal to her. Malacanang has all the money and resources to kill a complaint and case. That’s my answer to you, Vic.

  13. myrna myrna

npongco: there is one FVR loyalist na columnist sa malaya, na if you observe or read closely what he writes, kahit ang topic di tungkol kay fvr, gagawa at gagawa ng paraan para isingit ang “pogi” points ni tabako.

correct me ellen if i am wrong, but this columnist jess sison appears to be a pr man of fvr. what do you think?

  14. Myrna:

I know FVR pays a lot of media men to write good things about him. Jess Sison is, I understand, a provincemate, and may even be related to FVR.

He’s also the only pro-GMA in the group of columnists of Malaya. I was supposed to give to the Doroy Valencia Foundation to keep it going, but when I learned that it was him who heads the foundation, I decided to keep my contribution for some other time.

  15. npongco npongco

Jess Sison? The old man who’s not supposed to be in Malaya!
He’s pro-GMA. I’ve been reading his column and was surprised to know he wrote differently from the rest of his colleagues. He’s in the wrong paper. Honestly, I don’t like him. Speaking of spies, he might be Malacanang’s spy in Malaya. I’m sure Ms. Ellen knows him.

  16. myrna myrna

thanks ystakei and npongco for your replies. talaga nga naman.

i wonder why max soliven does not hire him in philippine star. even manila standard pa, dahil itong mga ito ang mga pro-gma…halata eh!

  17. npongco npongco

In fairness to Malaya, they could have taken in this Sison to balance the opinion. I believe Ms. Ellen is in the best position to share with us what she knows about Jess Sison, although professional ethics might prevent her from doing it.

  18. vic vic

    npongco,
When I asked the question ‘useless’, I was referring to congress. Congress is supposed to be a co-equal of the Executive Branch of Government and such is an independent body. But if it can not assert its power as an equal power to that of the President (Executive), then what good can it be?

  19. npongco npongco

Thanks for clarifying, Vic. But even if you describe the Congressmen as useless, I think it’s still appropriate. Useless Congressmen in a useless Congress…

  20. npongco npongco

Now it can be told: Gloria Arroyo has problem with her liver. She is an alcoholic. Malacanang insiders admit this.
It could be due to her anxiety and depression. People who are sick in mind usually resort to drinking. Let’s hope it’s a cancer of the liver. Congratulation Gloria!
